Band reunions seem to be all the rage this week. Add Pretty Boy Floyd to your list of 80’s hard rock bands to reunite.
For the first time in 17 years, all four original members of PRETTY BOY FLOYD — Steve “Sex” Summers, Kristy “Krash” Majors, Vinnie Chaz and Kari Kane — are bringing back the infamous stage show (along with the notorious image) that made them the hottest band in Hollywood in the ’80s and will be performing their classic debut album “Leather Boys With Electric Toys” in its entirety, along with other surprises!
The first show will be a special intimate warm-up club concert in Hollywood on March 1 at Club Vodka, followed by very select special festival-type appearances.
Catch 22 has a sound that I would describe as a mixture of Judas Priest, Vicious Rumors and Testament. For only being a three piece band, the band has managed to craft some impressively tight songs on Soulreaper Vol. 1.
If your not completely hooked on this band, after listening to the title track Soulreaper, than you can’t be a true heavy metal fan. This is good stuff.
T.J. Berry is a good metal singer/screamer, as well as a very good guitar player.
I have a few favorite cuts off of this disc, including Soulreaper, Atlantis Rising, Crawling, and Never.
The only thing that is holding Catch 22 back is geography at this point. It has to be pretty tough to get noticed in the little town of Marietta, Ohio. If a record label gives this band a chance, they will without question have the potential to be another break out Metal Act. Metal Blade Records are you listening?
