Gypsy Pistoleros – Para Siempre (2008)

Gypsy Pistoleros was introduced to the mass public during Rocklahoma 2007. They had one of the more interesting and unique releases last year with Wild, Beautiful Damned.

In 2008, the band has remixed and re-released Wild, Beautiful Damned with a couple of extra cuts in the form of Para Siempre. (That’s Forever for you non Spanish speaking folks.)

Which version you may prefer of the CD is up to your tastes. Some of the songs on Para Siempre have been changed up from the original disc. Cuts like The Crazy Loco Loquito I preferred the original version of. The added cuts Chicas Peligrosa, and the cover, Living La Vida Loca are nice additions so it balances out.

If you never got the opportunity to pick up Wild Beautiful Damned, Para Siempre is the way go. You can find copies available on line at CD Inzane.

The Gypsy Pistoleros are one of the few bands in this genre that aren’t just going through the motions and reliving the past. Their energy is unbeatable and the Latin flair to their music is refreshing. I think the better production on Para Siempre plus the additional tracks make it a stronger release than the original.

      I reviewed this one too:

I like this band because they are doing something different within the glam genre and it works.
