HOLLYWOOD, CA – (January 26, 2009) – Hailing from the bowels of Canada, MENDOZZA will release an ear-splitting new album to the U.S. March 17th on Reversed Records.
Emerging from the shadows they call Vancouver, MENDOZZA arrives fast and hard with the throaty Deuce (guitar/vocals), a tattooed beauty Bina (drums) and the heavy handed ‘The Judge’ (bass). They’ve come to deliver another offering ot the masses, their newest creation WHITE RHINO. This is a new brand of metal melded from sounds that create a stoner sludge metal tone influenced by such as the Melvins and Clutch.
WHITE RHINO is a perfected bastard strain and brought to life with producer / engineer Rob Shallcross (Gwar, Strapping Young Lad, Jaw) and mixed by Billy Anderson (Melvins, High On Fire, Weedeater) whose resin caked fingers dialed in the album’s array of thunder, grit and earthy tones that slam into the earth like a screaming pink belly in the desert sun. Devoted MENDOZZA fans are worldwide with the help of the release of their song “Eternal Battle” on the Underworld II Soundtrack.
They’ve been honing their seedy craft for 3 years now, sharing stages with Soilent Green, Jucifer, Kalas, Dixie Witch, 3 Inches of Blood, Pride Tiger, Zimmers Hole, Bison and countless others.

On Monday, January 26th, Ron Keel announced on “Eddie Trunk Live” on Sirius/XM radio that the KEEL Reunion has been confirmed for a prime slot on the Rocklahoma 2009 Main Stage.
KEEL – the band that gave you “The Right To Rock” – is back in action for their 25th Anniversary Reunion, performing and recording together for the first time in 20 years. Ron Keel, along with guitarists Marc Ferrari & Bryan Jay, drummer Dwain Miller, and bassist Geno Arce, will be delivering all the hits: “Because The Night,” “Somebody’s Waiting,” “Rock N Roll Outlaw,” “Tears Of Fire,” and of course one of the defining anthems of 80’s metal “The Right To Rock.”
KEEL also announced signing with one of hard rock’s heaviest hitters – Maryland-based CHAVIS RECORDS – with plans to release a new KEEL CD by summertime. Label CEO – Bill Chavis – “Everyone at CR is beyond excitement about having KEEL join the family not to mention that KEEL is undoubtedly one of the paramount pioneers of this genre of music. Being part of KEEL’s 25th anniversary is electrifying!”
“We are so proud to have such a prestigious spot on the Rocklahoma bill,” Ron states. “This festival is the big one that started it all, and was certainly one of our goals when we reunited. We can promise you, when KEEL hits that stage we are going to pack 20 years worth of energy and sweat into our 1-hour show.”

“Sacred Oath,” the self-titled third studio album from the legendary cult power metal band, was produced and engineered by Rob Thorne at his studio Angel Thorne Music in Connecticut.
Says Thorne, “We wrote, tracked, and mixed this record in 12 weeks, about one-fifth the time we spent with Darkness Visible. The band is just on fire, riding on the high we experienced with the successful tour and the release of the live disc.”
Favorite track on the album? “Ooooh,” says Thorne, “I love so many tracks on this disc, but I’d have to say Counting Zeros is my choice TODAY (laughs). We’ve always been a concept-oriented band, and that song really sums up the lyrical theme of this record.”
When pressed on whether this is a concept-album, Thorne smiles. “Two powers could be at it again.”
The band is giving away a free download of the first single from the new album – “Blood Storm.” Simply register at www.sacredoath.net.

This band seems to have embraced the NWOBHM era of metal, and have reproduced a sound that will have most metal fans, young and old banging their heads.
At times I have found singer Olaf Wikstrand’s vocals a little pitchy, but the music is so good on “Into The Night”, all if forgiven quickly. Enforcer taps into the awesome early 80’s metal sounds of Metallica and Iron Maiden to deliver a crushingly cool metal feast for your ears.
“Into the Night” isn’t a long listening experience. This CD clocks in at a tick over 35 minutes. It is so good though, I am guessing you will want to keep playing this one over and over. This disc isn’t breaking any new ground musically, but if you are fan of early 80’s thrash, you are sure to love this disc. I love the passion and the energy that comes out in the songs. It might be old school 80’s metal riffs that drives the music here, but I could care less. My only regret is that I didn’t get a copy of this CD sooner.
Heavy Artillery has a great new band on their hands. You should check them out on myspace at this link.
