Wednesday 13 is pleased to announce that Glamour Of The Kill will be joining the U.K. portion of the upcoming tour.
Commented Wednesday 13 “This was a difficult tour to book. We knew that this was going to be the last tour overseas for 2009 so we had to do something special. From the beginning, we knew that we wanted to take out The Chelsea Smiles. Those guys put on such a good rock n roll show and our fans should love them. I had been going back and forth trying to decide on the next band to join us. Our agent mentioned Glamour of the Kill and after checking them out and seeing how good they are doing on their own, without support from any label, I decided they would be the perfect fit.”
Overseas Wednesday 13 will be releasing his Bloodwork E.P. on March 16th, the same day The Chelsea Smiles will be releasing their long-awaited self-titled sophomore full length.
After this tour, Wednesday 13 will be taking a break from this band to concentrate on his southern project Bourbon Crow.

Multi-platinum rock band 311 have been hard at work in their own North Hollywood studio, The Hive, with legendary producer Bob Rock (Metallica, Bon Jovi, Aerosmith) putting the final touches on their ninth studio album. The highly anticipated record, Uplifter, is set for release via Volcano/Jive Records in late spring.

311 formed in Omaha, Nebraska in 1990 and is vocalist/guitarist Nick Hexum, vocalist/DJ SA Martinez, lead guitarist Tim Mahoney, drummer Chad Sexton and bassist P-Nut. To date, 311 has sold over 8.3 million units in the U.S alone, with 5 albums in the Top 10 on Billboard’s Top 200 Sales Chart and 7 singles soaring into the Top 10 on Billboard’s Modern Rock Chart (including the #1 singles Down, Love Song and Don’t Tread On Me).
The band’s celebratory live shows & incessant touring schedule have earned them a massive grassroots following nationwide. Since its inception in 2004, 311’s annual summer headlining amphitheatre run, Unity Tour, has become one of the largest modern rock concerts of the summer. Support acts on the past five Unity Tours have included Snoop Dogg, The Roots, Papa Roach, The Wailers, O.A.R. and Matisyahu.
American Dog are currently in a contest at Safe Auto. They’ve turned the Safe Auto jingle into a rocking tune. They are currently in 3rd place and could use a little help. If they win, it will pay for the recording of their next CD. Here’s the link:
JAW has progressive elements similar to that of Tool, but enough thunderous metal action to make them all their own” – James Korba, Stylus Magazine.
“JAW mixes the experimentation of Tool with a bit of death metal and prog rock”
– Mike Warkentin, Uptown Magazine.
Canadian Prog-Metal band JAW is releasing their sophomore album SWINGS HUMANS on Reversed Records on March 24th, 2009. Their efforts to unify musical experimentation and a message of personal evolution, is clearly in evidence on an absolutely meticulously crafted eight-song affair.
JAW is power, an unrestrained force possessing an unorthodox songwriting style. Fearlessly they innovate as they push for change. JAW is an inherent talent, a creative David in world of conformist Goliaths.
JAW formed in 2001 when vocalist Emmanuel Olarewaju and guitarist Jason Dokken met through serendipity at a music store in their hometown of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. After months of searching for individuals who shared in their creative vision, Olarewaju and Dokken recruited bassist Pablo Riedel and drummer Kevin Kornelsen. On July 17th 2001, JAW began. Within a few months of forming, the quartet had written a solid set of songs. These songs only scratched the surface of JAW’s potential.
JAW recorded their first EP in November 2002. With EP in hand JAW began tirelessly touring the frigid western Canadian plains through to the eastern coast, while periodically dipping into Minnesota and North Dakota. JAW’s live performance impressed to such an extent that within a year the group had sold enough albums to garner a strong following nationwide.
JAW entered The Space Behind A Garage Studios in Winnipeg, Manitoba with producer/engineer Rob Shallcross (Strapping Young Lad, Gwar, Townsend Band, Darkest Hour, Threat Signal) to record SWINGS HUMANS’. The result of this collaboration is of brutality and peace conveyed through movements, from the grandeur of its mountain tops to the voids of its valleys. Soulful, poetic, graceful and mighty, JAW’s SWINGS HUMANS reinvents what metal is and can be.
Emmanuel Olarewaju – Vocals
Jason Dokken – Guitar

Frontiers Records is particularly pleased to announce the come back release from STREET LEGAL “Bite The Bullet” due for release in Europe on March 13th 2009.
STREET LEGAL name came to prominence for the first time during the year 2000 when the band’s debut “Thunderdome” was released with strong critical acclaim in Europe on Frontiers Records. The band did already build a a solid reputation with some great live shows in their home country Norway, particularly their first show in May 99 as support of W.A.S.P. gathered such comments as: – «Iron Maiden threatened Kiss in 1980, Clawfinger showed muscle before Anthrax in 1990, Skunk Anansie blew away Therapy? in 1995. In 1999 Street Legal outplayed W.A.S.P.» – Stig Myhre (Nettpuls). “Street Legal should be the next Norwegian act to make a remarkable impact on an international level” – Jan Dahle (Scream). After the release of “Thuderdome”, STREET LEGAL performed some killer shows at the Sweden Rock Festival and at the Gods Festival in the UK.
Soundwise, these Norwegian rockers have been often compared to THIN LIZZY, WHITESNAKE and BLUE MURDER. “Classic rock with a strong blues foundation, still very harmony driven”, comments bass player and singer Bjorn Boge, when asked to describe the sound of the band to the uninitiated. “A lot of influences from the past: Westcoast Music, Metal, Hard Rock from the late 70´s. Always with focus on the song. Lyrics are also important. Chuck Frazier, my buddy in the lyric department is the major force behind this”.
After a long hiatus and some line-up changes, STREET LEGAL are now back to Rock with a superb new album that takes from where the previous has left. Bjorn explains: “This record marks the introduction of my brother Oystein as the drummer in the band and also brings a more straightforward rock’n roll approach than “Thunderdome”. For the time being we decided to stick with just the two of us. We know a lot of great guitar players, so the live lineup will be as strong as ever”. With Bjorn and his brother Oysten on drums, featured on the album there are Tore Ostby (ex ARK, Conception) and Rolf Bjorseth playing guitars.
Bjorn concludes: “It’s been a long and bumpy ride the last nine years for Street Legal. Since Thunderdome we went through heaven and hell: tourbus accident, personal disasters, depressions, divorces… The only problem we didn’t have was drugs! “Bite the bullet” was so hard to make, that we sometimes felt it was better to quit and call it a day. But we didn’t. And today I am very proud of what came out of this process. Street Legal will kick serious ass again. Looking forward to see you on the road!”
Final tracklisting of “Bite the Bullet” includes:
Hydrogyn is back with their sophomore effort, “Deadly Passions”. I enjoyed their debut “Bombshell” and was looking forward to what these Kentucky based rockers had in store for us for release number two.
From the opening cut “Rejection”, my guess is that Hydrogyn is trying to take a heavier approach to their music, and applaud them for doing so. “Bombshell” had a few tracks that I would consider a little too soft or light for the average hard rocker.
“Deadly Passions” starts off with the face melting tune “Rejection”. If the opening guitar riffs don’t get you interested in Hydrogyn’s music, you ought to hang around for Julie Westlake’s vocals. Much like Hydrogyn’s debut, Westlake’s vocals on this disc remind me a lot of Pat Benatar.
Craig Goldy’s brief tenure in the band must have been a good influence on guitarist Jeff Westlake, as he plays harder and heavier than ever before.
“On and On” teeters between a mid tempo melodic rocker, and a high tempo metallic rocker with some background screams thrown in from Chris Sammons for good measure. It isn’t the perfect tune, but I will get some replay value of this one.
“Deadly Passion” has a really cool upbeat groove, and is easily my favorite song on this disc.
“You Oughta Know” is a cover of the 1995 Alanis Morissette hit tune. This version is harder than the original, but not quite as good. This isn’t the first cover song Hydrogyn has recorded, but the other ones they have done are better than this. As popular as “You Oughta Know” was in the nineties, this version should have slayed the original, but it unfortunately does not.
“Candles Light Your Way” has been growing on me quite a bit. This is a catchy tune with some very good background vocals.
“Deadly Passions” has a good balance of 80’s hard rock and today’s modern hard rock sounds. In some places it works, and in others it doesn’t. I think “Deadly Passions” is a little better than Hydrogyn’s debut, but I don’t think we have heard the best piece of music from this band as of yet.
Julie Westlake – Vocals
Jeff Westlake – Guitars and Keyboards
Chris Sammons – Bass and Background Vocals
Josh Kitchen – Drums & Percussion
Steve Riley – Keyboards & Piano
Legendary Bass Master Bill Sheehan is releasing his much anticipated third solo album entitled “Holy Cow!” on Mascot Records U.S.A. April 14th, 2009. The albums tracks showcase Sheehan’s immense talents as both a singer/songwriter and instrumentalist.
Sheehan pulled in top-notch arsenal with guest performances by Billy Gibbons on “A Lit’l Bit’l Do It To Ya Ev’ry Time”, Paul Gilbert (who played with Sheehan in Mr Big) on “Dynamic Exhilarator”, Dug Pinnick (Kings-X) on the song “Turning Point” as well as Ray Luzier on drums and shred master Tony MacAlpine.
Sheehan has played over 4,000 gigs with a career that includes stints with Talas, David Lee Roth, Mr Big, and Steve Vai. Voted the “Best Rock Bass Player” 5 times in Guitar Player magazines Readers Poll, an honor which placed Sheehan in their “Gallery of Greats” (alongside Jimi Hendrix, Paul McCartney, Geddy Lee and Eddie Van Halen to name but a few). With cumulative sales of over 4 million records in his career, Billy Sheehan has made the album his fans have been waiting for, over the top playing with strong songs.
Sheehan continues to stretch the boundaries of the bass guitar while showcasing his immense talent as a guitarist (Baritone 12 string and 6 string guitars) and singer. Look for a Billy Sheehan solo tour to promote this album in the very near future.

Make No Bones about it, Fattooth is Canada’s premiere Kick in the face Metal/Punk crossover act. Their self-titled debut US release will hit March 24th on Reversed Records.
With a killer stage show and biting sound, Fattooth has been tearing a new hole in the Canadian underground scene. Eons beyond all the tired Death metal and Grindcore acts boring the hell out of every one to the point of suicide;… With no patience for the depressed and prozakked,…. Fattooth brings on a mix of Punk, Cock Rock and Metal roots that make the sluts rip their shirts off and the dudes thrash their mullets.
You may be asking yourself how did this menacing quartet come to be? The better question is how are they allowed to corrupt the youth without consequence? We will save that for an upcoming seminar on obscenity and censorship. Originally, it was three guys solid (Mihran Boudakian, Hucifer and George Xipoleas), beating out sound and going deaf with a multitude of half ass drummers in Montreal, Canada. Their work was enough to get producer and Juno award winning engineer Rob Shallcross( Strapping Young Lad, Gwar, Man Made Mountains, Mr. Plow etc.) interested in the project, after having worked with the talents of Hucifer back in grungy old Winnipeg in the late 90‘s. The guys in Montreal sent Shallcross the material they had recorded and Hucifer started tracking the vocals in Vancouver, between planting Trees on the West Coast of Canada, Gene Hoglan (Death, Dethlok, Strapping Young Lad, Zimmer’s hole) flew in, pounded out the drum tracks and ate a bunch of Sushi. The remaining two flew in to complete the job that had been started in Magma Studios in January 08, hence the self titled debut album.
The three discovered a suitable replacement for Gene in Costa Dimitroulis and are currently banging out shows to sweaty, drunk, awestruck audiences. This album will be released in the U.S in conjunction with over 40 dates in 23 states.
Guitar: George Xipoleas
Bass: Mihran Boudakian
Drums: Gene Hoglan (on album) – Costa Dimitroulis

REINTERPRETATION OF THE BOB DYLAN CLASSIC IS FIRST SINGLE FROM UPCOMING SOUNDTRACK TO FEATURE FILM WATCHMEN
The music video for My Chemical Romance’s “Desolation Row” has finally made its North American debut. The song, a reinterpretation of the Bob Dylan classic, was recorded specifically for the upcoming feature film Watchmen. Watchmen: Music From the Motion Picture, which contains the song, is due from Warner Sunset/Reprise Records on March 3rd, three days before the film hits theaters nationwide.
The video, which was helmed by Watchmen director Zack Snyder, transports the viewer into the world of Watchmen in an alternate 1985. My Chemical Romance is performing at a dive bar, reigning as the lords of anarchy above a moshpit. As the crowd surges back and forth, the scene recalls the glory days of the Sex Pistols, the Ramones, Iggy Pop, and The Dead Kennedys. A fight breaks out and becomes a bloody free-for-all as the band keeps playing. The mayhem spills out onto the street. The cops arrive and drag off the band members who are kicking, spitting, and punching the whole way. Director of Photography Guillermo Navarro (an Academy Award® winner for Pan’s Labyrinth), has given the proceedings a grimy, otherworldly effect.
The exclusive video premiere of “Desolation Row” takes place four days after the song debuts on iTunes on January 26th. Users can pre-order Watchmen: Music From the Motion Picture, which also features a collection of classic songs by such artists as Nat King Cole, Leonard Cohen, and Janis Joplin, beginning on January 27th. The video will premiere internationally on January 31st and go wide in the U.S. on February 3rd.
A complex, multi-layered mystery adventure, Watchmen is set in an alternate 1985 America in which costumed superheroes are part of the fabric of everyday society, and the “Doomsday Clock” — which charts the USA’s tension with the Soviet Union — moves closer to midnight. When one of his former colleagues is murdered, the washed-up but no less determined masked vigilante Rorschach sets out to uncover a plot to kill and discredit all past and present superheroes. As he reconnects with his former crime-fighting legion — a ragtag group of retired superheroes, only one of whom has true powers — Rorschach glimpses a wide-ranging and disturbing conspiracy with links to their shared past.
Watchmen is directed by Zack Snyder from a screenplay by David Hayter and Alex Tse, based on the graphic novel co-created by Dave Gibbons, published by DC Comics. The film is produced by Lawrence Gordon, Lloyd Levin, and Deborah Snyder. Herbert W. Gains and Thomas Tull are the executive producers, with Wes Coller serving as co-producer. The film stars Malin Akerman, Billy Crudup, Matthew Goode, Carla Gugino, Jackie Earle Haley, Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Patrick Wilson.
Warner Bros. Pictures and Paramount Pictures present, in Association with Legendary Pictures, a Lawrence Gordon/Lloyd Levin Production, a Zack Snyder Film, Watchmen. Watchmen will be released nationwide on March 6, 2009. It will be distributed domestically by Warner Bros. Pictures and internationally by Paramount Pictures.
Sometimes an album is like a punch in the gut to me the very first time I hear it and I have to pick myself up off the floor afterwards. But then other times it takes an album a while before it finally hits me, which was the case with Eden’s Curse “Second Coming”. I love their debut album, I still think it is a pretty amazing album so I was definitely stoked about getting “Second Coming” when it was released. But after getting the album and several listens I was disappointed because it didn’t hit me like their debut, in fact it took almost 4 months before “Second Coming” hit me, but once it did WOW!!! What an amazing album this turned out to be it is filled with excellent well written songs. I already knew vocalist Michael Eden is a phenomenal singer from the debut but he really kicked it up a couple of notches on “Second Coming”. The band which also consist of guitarist Thorsten Koehne, keyboards from Ferdy Doernberg, bassist Paul Logue, and drummer Pete Newdeck are all exceptional musicians but Koehne in particular puts on a guitar playing showcase on this album which is absolutely jaw dropping.
After a short intro titled “Reign of Terror” everything is kicked off by “Masquerade Ball” and right out of the gates there is no holding Koehne back who absolutely blisters this song with his playing along with Newdeck on drums. If there was ever a song to practice your air guitar to or maybe your best metal singer stance while lip syncing with a hair brush this would be the song, absolutely awesome.
“Angels & Demons” follows and it is a duet with Pamela Moore (A.K.A. Sister Mary from Operation: Mindcrime) and it definitely lives up to the album’s pre-release hype. One again there is no holding Koehne or Newdeck back, but truth be told everyone absolutely shines on this song. Eden and Moore are terrific trading lyrics back and forth, I don’t understand how Pamela Moore is not a better known name on her own as she more than holds her own with Eden.
“Just Like Judas” has a heavy thumping groove to it that makes it impossible not to tap your foot along. It also has a great sing a long chorus where Eden’s vocals really shine as once again so does Koehne’s guitar.
“Sail On” is a mid tempo rocker that was my first punch in the gut for “Second Coming”. Awesome song that will have lighters and cell phones around the world lighting up when it is played live. Ferdy Doernberg’s keyboards really set this song off without overpowering it. Definitely my favorite song on this album.
“Lost in Wonderland” was my second punch in the gut and this heavy rocker is another awesome example of the band’s songwriting skills and a great groove from the rhythm section of Newdeck and Logue.
With 13 tracks on this album there is not one song I would consider filler material but some of the other stand out tracks on “Second Coming” are the ballad “Man Against The World”, a mid tempo rockers “West Wind Blows” and “Lost Soul”, and definitely the album’s closer “Ride The Storm”.
I have always heard good things come to those that wait, I am glad I waited for that first punch from Eden’s Curse “Second Coming” it is definitely worth the wait.
When 2009 wraps up this album will be on my best of list and I really wouldn’t be surprised if it was my album of the year. Any hard rock fan out there should have this album in their collection.
1. Reign Of Terror (Intro)
2. Masquerade Ball
3. Angels & Demons
4. Just Like Judas
5. Sail On
6. Lost In Wonderland
7. West Wind Blows
8. Signs Of Your Life
9. Man Against The World
10. Raven’s Revenge
11. Lost Soul
12. Games People Play
13. Ride The Storm
Eden’s Curse is:
Michael Eden – Vocals
Thorsten Koehne – Guitars
Paul Logue – Bass
Ferdy Doernberg – Keyboards
Pete Newdeck – Drums
In the mid to late 80’s the thrash scene was thriving in both the secular market and in the Christian market. Bands like Vengeance Rising, Deliverance, Sacrament and Believer we’re leading the pack in the Christian thrash circuit. In 1989 somewhere in ….Pennsylvania…. a demo tape would emerge that would make a long lasting impression on the Christian Thrash scene. That demo was called… ‘Totally Possessed’ The band… THRESHER!!!!!
The band would release and distribute only 500 copies of that first demo tape, selling it at their shows and through print magazines like Heaven’s Metal. That demo would catch the eye of many people in the scene and in the industry. This tape, if you can find one today, goes for quite a few bucks on sites like eBay!
After the success of the demo the band would next record a couple of tracks that would be included on two much sought after compilations for REX Records. This would garner even more attention on this young and thriving band. Next, with label interest in both the Christian and Secular markets, they would go in and record what would be their next and ultimately their final, full length release entitled ‘Here I Am’
‘Here I Am’ was to be their break through album, and was recorded live in the studio with very few overdubs at Lifeline Studios in ….Pennsylvania….. But ultimately the band would begin to deteriorate as they battled to try and balance both music and their personal lives. The album would ultimately never be released and has been locked away for close to 20 years, until now!!!
After all these years, Roxx Records, in conjunction with Thresher, is set to release this long lost treasure upon the world in a Limited Edition CD format. Eight never before released tracks, these tracks, while locked away for years, have stood the test of time and are still relevant and stand up with the best of them in today’s Thrash scene.
On ..May 1st 2009.. this CD can be yours, and we hope it touches your life as it has ours! Pre-orders have begun now and the first 100 copies only will come with a BONUS CD recording of that much sought after, highly collectible, demo ‘Totally Possessed’! That’s right the first 100 orders only will be shipped as a 2 CD set with a copy of the EXTREMELY Limited edition demo that started it
Metal Mind Productions presents re-release of Treponem Pal’s third studio album from 1993 – “Excess & Overdrive”. Treponem Pal, the most respected industrial band from France, was formed in 1986, in a time when pop glitz or American glam metal reigned the European music scene. Back then industrial metal was just starting to grow, however the genre’s turning point was close – groups such as Skinny Puppy and Front 242 begun aggressively marking their presence on the scene.
“Excess & Overdrive” is one of the best heavy industrial albums and at the same time the most successful LP from Treponem Pal’s back catalogue. It was produced by Franz Treichler of The Young Gods and featured the club hit “Pushing You Too Far”. New digipak edition includes 2 bonus tracks. Digitally remastered using 24-Bit process on golden disc and limited to 2000 copies. The release date is set up for 9th February in Europe and 10th March in USA (via MVD).
“Excess & Overdrive” (remastered + bonus tracks)
1. Out of Reach
2. Pushing you too far
3. Excess & Overdrive
4. For progress
5. Crimson Garden
7. Nowhere Land
8. Blow me out
10. Full Moon
11. Excess (trance mix)
12. Pushing you too far (tribal mix)

If you were one of the people that wanted to check out the Punisher War Zone movie, but missed it in the short span that it was at the box office, never fear! The movie will be released on DVD and Blue ray on March 17th.
The soundtrack for this movie is a pretty impressive mix of hard rock and metal. It features the first new Rob Zombie song in quite some time, as well as some great tracks by Slipknot, Slayer, Seether, and Static-X.
I have never been a big fan of movie soundtracks, but I found myself headbanging quite a bit to this disc. Some of the songs are extremely heavy and are not for the feint of heart.
If you haven’t picked up Slipknot’s new CD yet, this soundtrack features their new song “Psychosocial”. This is easily the best song off of their new CD “All Hope is Gone”. To my ears, this one of the coolest new heavy metal tracks to be released in recent years.
Not every song falls in the hard rock & metal genre. “Genesis” from Justice is a pop/dance music tune. “Showdown” from Pendulum falls closer to the techno side of the fence. It has a harder edge to it, which makes it quite listenable. These songs seem like an odd fit amongst so many hard rock and metal acts, but they do sound good when played loudly, and offers a good breaking point amongst the heavier tracks.
I can honestly say that I haven’t listened to Hatebreed or Rammallah before. Hatebreed’s style of metal reminds me a lot of Slipknot. The singer has an extremely coarse voice. The guitars are heavy and the percussion is very good.
Ramallah reminds me of a cross between Rammstein and Nine Inch Nails. It is interesting, but not essential.
If you are a fan of today’s metal acts, you will likely enjoy this soundtrack. To me, the first three songs on this disc are worth the price of admission. This is the only place you will find Rob Zombie’s “War Zone” making this a must own CD. You can listen to Rob Zombie’s War Zone at this link.
1. War Zone – Rob Zombie
2. Final Six – Slayer
3. Psychosocial – Slipknot
4. Historia Calamitatum – Rise Against
5. Fallen – Seether
6. Bulletproof – Kerli
7. Take Me Away – 7 Days Away
8. The Past Is Proof – Senses Fail
9. Butterfly Wings – Machines Of Loving Grace
10. Genesis – Justice
11. Showdown – Pendulum
12. Refuse/Resist – Hatebreed
13. Lunatic – Static-X
14. Days of Revenge – Ramallah
New audio samples are available of the up and coming Kingdom Come CD, “Magnified”. Check them out at the Lenny Wolf myspace page.
According to TMZ.com, former GUNS N’ ROSES drummer Steven Adler was arrested on Monday, January 26 and charged with being under the influence of a controlled substance — a misdemeanor. He was released the same day at 10:50 a.m. on $50,527 bail. No court date has been set.
Steven‘s representatives tell TMZ.com that Adler was **NOT** under the influence of drugs at the time of his arrest. Adler — who was busted last July for possession of narcotics, being under the influence and for an outstanding warrant, and was ordered by the court to stay at the Pasadena Recovery Center — was arrested this past Monday because he hadn’t finished his community service in the time frame given by the judge. The representatives say Adler went to register as a drug offender — also court-ordered — on January 26, when cops acted on the arrest warrant stemming from the unfinished community service. He was charged with “being under the influence of a controlled substance” because that was the original charge from his July arrest.
