Where oh where are The Four Horsemen in 2009? With so many of the late eighties and early 90’s bands doing reunion shows, isn’t time for Maryland’s finest sons to do some reunion gigs?! Check out their video, “Rockin’ Is Ma Business” below.
That band was awesome !! Singer had a Brian Johnson/Tom Keifer voice. They were like a southern AC/DC.
My Mom ( r.i.p ) loved ’em…she seem ’em in a club in ’92…w/War Babies !!
The reason some consider them a Maryland band is that 2 of the 3 surviving members reside there, and have off and on for most of their lives. The band was put together in Hollywood, and Frank was from New Jersey..Most recently Ben Pape played bass with The Rhythm Handlers(infamous rather than famous-the real deal rock and roll band from Maryland ever, although undiscovered) and their music can be found at http://www.myspace.com/therhythmhandlers
Yes, those guys were the real deal, not like these pathetic posturing and posing wanna-bes you see so much nowdays (Hinder). Just simple straight up rock n’ roll, dirty and loud, the way it should be.
Another great band that ended too soon sadly. Saw them open for The Black Crowes in a club in Toledo back in 1990. Great live band!!
One reason for no reunion may be because drummer Ken Montgomery died of a drug overdose in 1994 and Frank C. Starr died in 1999 in a coma from a ’95 motorcycle accident. You can still check them out at http://www.thefourhorsemen.com/ or at http://www.myspace.com/fourhorsemenband
They were a good band, but not from Maryland. Everything I ever read said they formed in Hollywood. Being from Maryland believe me we would claim them if we thought we could because we don’t have that many good bands from here.I guess some people would say KIX are our oest band, but that doesn’t say much for our state. I guess I would choose Clutch as our finest band. Also as for reforming, drummer Dimwit died in 1994 and was replaced for their third album. Then singer Frank Starr died after being in a coma for several years. Ron Young briefly replaced him, but he is back with Little Caesar so I kind of doubt a Four Horsemen reunion will happen.
