“Lifeline” One of The Fastest Growing Singles At Active, Alternative and Mainstream Rock Formats Addresses Economic and Social Issues Hitting US Now
Spending over 10 years as an alternative rock force, Papa Roach have returned in 2009 revitalized and ready to bring their infectious anthems to scores of fans around the world. Boasting a wealth of growth and bravado, their fifth studio album, Metamorphosis, is out today, March 24th via DGC/Interscope Records. Remaining true to their LA roots, Metamorphosis was written at the legendary Paramour Mansion and recorded at NRG Recording Studios. The album was co-produced by Jay Baumgardener (311, Evanescence, Incubus) and the band, with James Michael (Motley Crue, Sixx:A.M.) picking up additional co-production credits on five of the tracks. Metamorphosis secures the bands’ legacy in modern rock, showcasing their songwriting growth and maturity over the last decade.
The first single from Metamorphosis, “Lifeline” hit radio in January and was the most added song at Rock radio in its first week. Only 8 weeks in, the track has hit #1 at Active Rock and exhibits serious staying power. The band performed the song on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on March 6th. “Lifeline” is one of the fastest growing songs at active, alternative and mainstream rock and is available online at iTunes, various digital outlets and at Hot Topic stores on an exclusive two-song CD single. Papa Roach recently shot the official video for the song with director Chris Sims (Queens of the Stone Age, Jimmy Eat World), which was immediately premiered on imeem.com, and added at MTV2, MTVu, Fuse, and Music Choice. The video underscores the social messages prevalent throughout the track and the album. Papa Roach will be hitting the road with Nickleback for a full US tour in July, as well as trekking through Europe in June for their first headlining tour in over 2 years.
As a thank you to their most loyal fans, anyone purchasing Metamorphosis as a CD or iTunes digital album will be granted access to the “Backstage Pass” section of the bands site, which will feature exclusive video greetings from the band and more, and will be regularly updated. AUTUMN HOUR, featuring vocalist Alan Tecchio (HADES, WATCHTOWER, NON-FICTION, SEVEN WITCHES), drummer Dave Lescinsky(Hades), bassist Clint Arent (PAINMUSEUM,
Seven Witches), and guitarist Justin Jurman are set to release their new CD, Dethroned, via Rock Ridge Music on May 5th.
Already garnering attention for their cover of the EURYTHMICS ‘Here Comes The Rain Again’, Autumn Hour combines a unique blend of metal, hard rock, and progressive music with a lyrical concept about a mechanized future.

Blind Fury emerged on the metal scene soon after the release of Satan’s “Court In The Act”. This wasn’t a mere coincidence – Blind Fury WAS in fact Satan, or to be more precise – Satan’s new incarnation. Under that name the group recorded only one album – “Out of Reach” (1985) – but it was enough to make Blind Fury a true metal icon! The album was rooted in the NWOBHM tradition, but instead of purely technical playing, the band went towards a more melodic and straight-forward approach. Songs like the brilliant opener “Do It Loud” or “Contact Rock and Roll” have a unique rock feel to them. Other highlights include “Evil Eyes”, “Back Inside” and the epic “Dance of the Crimson Lady, Part 1”. And even though the music on “Out of Reach” was less complex than on Satan’s last release, it was still far from radio-friendly and got often compared by the critics to the likes of Liege Lord, Attacker or Omen. The LP became a cult classic from the start, bringing a truly powerful dose of prime heavy metal.
After one listen to M.O.B’s “The Greatest Enemy”, I am convinced that Sweden’s top exports are their hard rock acts. There has been a mind boggling amount of great hard rock coming of Sweden, and M.O.B raises the bar once more.
On the inside cover of The M.O.B’s new CD, “The Greatest Enemy” there is a quote from Julias Caeser that states “The greatest enemy will hide in the last place you would ever look.” Well Sweden’s M.O.B and their cool new CD, “The Greatest Enemy” has been hiding from me for quite some time, and I am embarrassed that I haven’t discovered this band sooner. The current lineup of M.O.B have been playing together since 1996, and have released four CD’s during this span.
Judging from the sounds of “The Greatest Enemy”, I will need to purchase their back catalog in the very near future. This CD features 14 songs that are a good blend of classic metal and melodic hard rock. M.O.B’s sound reminds me of a cross of two very cool classic metal acts, Krokus and Saxon. It isn’t every day that I stumble upon a band with a sound this cool, but believe me M.O.B most certainly rocks.
There are a bunch of good tunes on this disc that are worth checking out. Some of my favorites include “In My Dreams”, the title track “The Greatest Enemy”, “Stone Cold”, and “Behind the Wall”. I love the hard crunching guitar riffs of Peter Gustafsson. His guitar work is a potent combination when mixed with the vocals of Fredrik Notling. It is a sound that should appeal to most classic metal fans. Overall, “The Greatest Enemy’ is a solid effort by M.O.B and one that is worth checking out.
