TANTRIC’S ‘MIND CONTROL’
SET FOR RELEASE JULY 21
VIA SILENT MAJORITY GROUP
TANTRIC–Hugo Ferreira (lead vocals, keyboards), Joe Pessia (guitars), Erik Leonhardt (bass and vocals), Marcus Ratzenboeck (violin), Richie Monica (drums)–will be releasing their fourth album, MIND CONTROL, July 21 on the Silent Majority Group label (through Warner Music Group’s Independent Label Group). It was produced by Brett Hestla (Creed, Framing Hanley, Dark New Day) and is the follow-up to 2008’s THE END BEGINS, which produced the Top Five Rock hit, “Down and Out.”
TANTRIC was formed from the ashes of Platinum acoustic rock band Days of the New. After scores of U.S. tours, multiple Rock hits including ”Breakdown,” “Mourning,” “Astounded,” “Hey Now,” and “Down and Out,” TANTRIC has grown into a mainstay at the Rock radio formats. While the band’s recurrent tracks continue to enjoy plenty of radio play, their fourth album, MIND CONTROL, is being greeted by early listeners as their “heaviest and hookiest” work to date. The title track—the album’s first single–will surely become, yet again, another rock radio staple. A video will hit the TV and Internet airwaves in the next few weeks.
MIND CONTROL is sure to follow in the footsteps of THE END BEGINS, which Billboard described as: “…remarkable…a well-realized blend of post-grunge rock, crafty melodies and pop finesse, sans overt commercial pandering.”
In touring news, look for the band to launch a full-scale summer tour in July. Details are forthcoming.
WINNERS TO PERFORM ON STAGE BEFORE AEROSMITH AND THEIR SPECIAL GUESTS
So you wanna be a rock superstar?
Well, rock superstardom is now within your grasp courtesy of AEROSMITH and Guitar Hero®: Aerosmith®. In groundbreaking fashion, America’s Greatest Rock ‘N Roll Band and the mega-popular video game franchise are giving fans the chance to be the OPENING ACT for the massive Guitar Hero: Aerosmith Presents Aerosmith tour with special guests ZZ Top. The tour–for which tickets are available now at www.livenation.com— kicks off June 10 in St. Louis, with ZZ Top joining the tour on June 21. The catch? Fans simply have to prove their mettle on Guitar Hero: Aerosmith.
In each city the tour hits, two victorious fret-burners will perform before ZZ Top (or the support acts for the dates where ZZ Top aren’t performing), playing Guitar Hero: Aerosmith on stage in front of massive audiences. One grand prize winner will be chosen from AEROSMITH’s YouTube channel online and others will be chosen from participating radio stations. However, AEROSMITH are offering the victors way more than just rock immortality for a night.
Winners also receive two tickets to the show, a Guitar Hero: Aerosmith prize package and a personal pre-show congratulatory meet-and-greet with none other than AEROSMITH’s STEVEN TYLER (vocals) and JOE PERRY (guitar). That’s for the winners, not their guests, since the backstage area can only accommodate winners and fellow rock stars.
Further solidifying the winner’s status as a living room rock god, each opening set will be filmed and featured on Aeroforceone.com and the AEROSMITH YouTube channel. Now that’s something to post on your friends’ Facebook walls.
The contest will be showcased on social media sites including MySpace, Facebook, Twitter, iLike and official websites such as Aerosmith.com and Aeroforceone.com; and Guitar Hero web sites including GuitarHero.com and Guitar Hero’s Facebook group.
If you think you’ve got what it takes to shred the stage before AEROSMITH and ZZ Top light up their strings, here’s how to enter:
1) Create a video either ripping some serious air guitar using the Guitar Hero controller OR shredding a wicked session of Guitar Hero: Aerosmith.
2) Upload video to YouTube. IMPORTANT: EACH VIDEO ENTRY MUST BE CLEARLY TAGGED AS FOLLOWS: “AerosmithOpeningAct” (one word, no spaces) and another tag with the city you want to win (i.e. “Mansfield”). So your two tags would be: “AerosmithOpeningAct” and “Mansfield.” (Use the city name listed under the “Location” column on the Aero Force One tour page (http://www.aeroforceone.com/index.cfm?pk=viewall&cd=MA2).
3) Subscribe to Aerosmith’s Official YouTube Channel at www.youtube.com/theofficialaerosmith. We’ll update the contest videos on a weekly basis, so make sure to see your entry posted after a week. If it’s not there, double check that you tagged it correctly. If you entered everything correctly, email email@example.com with a link to your YouTube video contest entry, the city you hope to win, your first and last name and your email address.
4) AF1 will pick a winner in each city. Hint: To get your video noticed make sure your vid is crazy, cool, rockin’, funny, creative, insane or all of the above—within the letter of the law, of course.
5) Winners will be informed on a rolling basis two weeks before each show. Even if you’re not a grand prize winner, there are some fantastic runner-up prizes. There will be other winners based on videos with the most ratings, comments or creativity. Guitar Hero game packs and pairs of tickets to the shows, will be available Runners Up prizes.
6) Make sure you stay in touch with all the contest news—sign up for AeroForceOne’s official email newsletter (www.aeroforceone.com) and follow AF1 on Twitter (www.twitter.com/aeroforceone) to stay up on the leaders!
Becoming a rock star has never been this easy. There’s no touring required, no sleeping on floors, no bad catering, no bus boredom and no awkward interviews, just you and a packed amphitheatre filled to the brim with screaming fans. All you have to do is shred to some of Aerosmith’s greatest hits in Guitar Hero: Aerosmith in order to gain the golden backstage pass.
If you don’t win the Opening Act contest, there’s still a way to get on the same stage as Aerosmith. Aero Force One (AF1), the band’s official fan club, offers exclusive VIP packages for every show on the band’s massive summer tour. With the “Ultra Sweet Spot,” take a guided backstage tour to meet the cast and crew in charge of Aerosmith’s legendary live productions. Stand on stage in the same spot where Steven, Joe, Tom, Brad and Joey will play to thousands of screaming fans and rock the rafters mere hours later. Hang out at a pre-show party where Joey Kramer will make a special appearance and share up-close and personal “Joey Kramer” and of course Aerosmith stories. From your seats in the first 10 rows you’ll get close enough to see legendary guitarists at work – watch Brad Whitford and Joe Perry’s fingers fly on every note in Aerosmith’s blistering set list. AF1 offers a range of VIP packages, each tailored to the ultimate Aerosmith fan experience. (With “Wheels Up,” you can meet Steven and Joe!). If you just want to get to the show, AF1 offers tickets-only with “Premium Tickets” – and throws in some killer merchandise just for being a fan club member. Visit AeroForceOne.com for details.
Now you’ve got two ways to visit rock superstardom for that once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Good luck!
AEROSMITH–STEVEN TYLER (vocals), JOE PERRY (guitar), BRAD WHITFORD (guitar), TOM HAMILTON (bass) and JOEY KRAMER (drums)–made history last year when Activision released Guitar Hero: Aerosmith, marking the first music-based game built around the legendary music of Aerosmith. The groundbreaking partnership united “America’s greatest hard rock act” (as described by Mojo editor Phil Alexander in a May ’07 cover story) with the massively successful videogame franchise; sales exploded and broke records, with AEROSMITH reaching another generation of fans.

On June, 19, 2009, the swedish band RAM will release their new album “Lightbringer” which will be the first RAM release on AFM Records.
Sweden has found their true metal defenders in RAM. The band was founded in 1999 by guitarist Harry Granroth and has steadily build up their reputation as one of the best bands that the European metal underground has to offer.
Now, after one own-pressing and their official debut album “Forced Entry” (from 2005), RAM are more than ready to make the next step. Countless sweaty live gigs have forged the unit of RAM together. They are no overnight sensation, no victims of trends or fashion: RAM just do what they love: to raise the spirit of true heavy metal and let the music do the talking.
RAM´s musical influences are obvious: Judas Priest, Iron Maiden and Mercyful Fate left their marks in the RAM sound. But at the same time there is always a strong original feel throughout all of the material. For every lover of honest, handmade and intense heavy metal the new album “Lightbringer” will indeed light up a dark age of fading old heroes and soulless trend music. Get RAMMED!
Check out RAM on myspace, at this link.
With their debut album they recently reached #36 in the official charts of their home country Sweden. Now it´s time to bring this fantastic new band to all of you! We´re talking about MANIMAL. Sweden´s new force delivers great melodic metal, with up-to-date sound and slightly progressive influences – not to forget: a lot of individuality. MANIMAL´s “The Darkest Room” will be released on June, 19, 2009. Stay tuned for further news. A first teaser can be found here:
After the great “Mastercutor” album, U.D.O. will finally release new material in June 2009! The “Infected” EP will be released on June, 26, 2009 and it will shorten the time until August 2009 when the new U.D.O. studio album will be released.
The fans have to be quick because the EP is strictly limited to 2.222 items worldwide!
Here is the tracklist of “Infected”
01. Infected (album track)
02. Systematic Madness (non-album track)
03. Bodyworld (non-album track)
04. Platchet Soldat (remix)

In a time when most of the good new bands have been coming out of Sweden, imagine my amazement when I heard Jackson, Wisconsin’s Wiszdom Stone for the first time. Judging from the excellent tunes on the the new five song EP “The Battle Rages” from Wiszdom Stone, huge things may be in store this band in the near future!
The five songs on this CD are a pretty amazing collection of classic heavy metal that brings bands like Iron Maiden & Dio to mind. In fact, the first time I heard singer Andre Beaudot sing, I immediately wanted to compare him to the master class of metal vocalists like Ronnie James Dio, and Jorn Lande. This guy is one of the best new metal singers that I have heard in a quite a while.
This EP delivers on all counts. Every song rocks. The vocals are great, the guitar work is excellent, and the drums kick ass. If you listen to one song, check out “The Sky is Falling”. This is amazing stuff!
My only complaint about this disc is that is way too short. “The Battle Rages” is a nice metal appetizer that has me salivating for more. Hopefully Wiszdom Stone will do a full length CD soon. I definitely want to hear more from this band, and as good as this disc is, I am sure I will be. Don’t miss out on this CD! You can purchase this disc at The Omega Order.com.

Music Manager ANDY GOULD of Spectacle Entertainment Signs on Atlanta-Based Rock Band DEATH ON TWO WHEELS
Atlanta-based rock band DEATH ON TWO WHEELS–featuring Trae Vedder – lead vocals, guitar, Andrew Knox – organ, piano, Paul Doss – lead guitar, David Fountain – bass, Greg Neel – drums — Have been scouted and signed by the celebrated music industry veteran Andy Gould, best known for working with Pantera, Rob Zombie, Guns N’ Roses, and Morrissey. Death on Two Wheels first caught Gould’s attention, while they were lighting up the south with a series of breakout shows. Blown away by the band’s un-ignorable live performance, he immediately signed them. “We are so excited to be representing DEATH ON TWO WHEELS,” states Gould. “It’s exciting to once again be working with a rockin’, hard working indie band that is ready for their moment in the spotlight— Reminds me of the days when you’d sign crowd-winning, budding superstars out of tiny clubs, instead of out of rehearsal studios and off TV talent shows.”
The band has opened for a number of notable acts including Janelle Monae, Butch Walker, Norma Jean and Manchester Orchestra. They took SXSW by storm this year, playing 4 showcases and getting noticed by mainstream media. The band is now busy gearing up for the release of SEPARATION OF CHURCH & FATE – produced and mixed by Matt Malpass (Manchester Orchestra, Reliant K) and John Travis (Kid Rock, Social Distortion). DEATH ON TWO WHEELS is a diverse rock group blasting through the membrane of trendiness on the way to something truly audacious and authentic. The songs alone have quickly driven this band to ‘next big thing out ofAtlanta’ status. Given the talent, ambition and resourcefulness of DEATH ON TWO WHEELS you ain’t heard nothin’ yet!
