A couple of weeks ago, my family and I went to go check out Kuma’s Corner in Chicago, IL. We first found out about this restaurant from the Food Network show, Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives (see the clip below.)
This is the place that serves up burgers named after heavy metal bands. You will find Metallica, Iron Maiden, Slayer, Pantera, Motorhead and more on the menu. Is it a gimmick? Sure, but when you walk into Kuma’s Corner, you will find a corner bar run by metalheads that serve up some of the best burgers in the business.
Their concoctions for their burgers are pretty unique. All of the burgers are served on pretzel rolls, and most of them come with ingredients would not expect to find on a hamburger. The burgers served are 10 ounces of beef cooked to order, and are absolutely huge.
When you walk into Kuma’s, you will hear heavy metal blasting over the speakers. This place is loud. People are yelling to talk over the music in this joint. The images on the walls are not family friendly, so you may not want to bring the kids. None of this stops Kuma’s from being busy. This place has a two hour wait to get in, just about every day. The burger that I had there (The Pantera) was one of the best I have ever eaten. We all loved are food at Kuma’s, and have been dying to go back ever since.
If you live in or near Chicago, you need to make plans to check out Kuma’s Corner. You won’t be disappointed. Check them out online at this link.
