In case you missed it, there is a four song EP that came in 2009, called “We Wish You A Metal X-Mas and Head Banging New Year”, not to be confused with the CD of the same name that was released in 2008. The songs on this CD include Tony Franklin, Frankie Banali, Michael Schenker, Doug Aldrich and more.
The four songs are:
Bumblefoot – Frosty the Snowman
Blasko – Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer
Doro Pesch – O’ Christmas Tree
Girlschool – Auld Lang Syne
If you like the tunes you hear above, you can purchase the downloads at this link. Play it LOUD, and piss off your neighbors.
The forthcoming new Armored Saint album is set to be released on March 16, 2010 through Metal Blade Records. As most of you know, the album will be titled “La Raza” and the track listing follows:
1. Loose Cannon
2. Head On
3. Left Hook From Right Field
4. Get Off The Fence
6. La Raza
7. Black Feet
8. Little Monkey
10. Bandit Country
Let the countdown begin!
Chestnuts roasting on an open fire,
puppies shitting on the floor
Ozzy Osbourne screaming Sharrrrrrrrrron,
Lets pick a title for……
My new album which will rock,
with no Zakk, it will be a shock.
“Soul Sucka it shall be”,
Ozzy stuttered out with Glee.
Next summer it shall come
even though the title is dumb
Change the title I beg thee,
your fans are no dummies.
Destined to fail, with a name this bad
your decision for a title is truly sad.
Even with Gus G taking over to strum,
This album I fear will be a big bum.
Quit listening to Jack,
put away the rap,
and come up with some better
than this utter crap.
Frontiers Records to release GIANTs come-back album Promise Land on February 26th in Europe and March 9th in the USA.
December 2009 GIANT, the powerhouse Rock quartet, now formed by founding members David Huff and Mike Brignardello, together with Terry Brock and John Roth, will unleash their highly anticipated fourth album Promise Land on the international markets.
Formed by brothers Dann and David Huff, together with the experienced Jazz-Rock keyboardist Alan Pasqua and Nashville session bass player Mike Brignardello, Giant would soon become, with the release of their debut album Last of The Runaways (A&M Records, 1989), one of the most respected trademark bands of the Melodic Hard Rock scene. Following countless live performances, the band recorded the follow-up Time to Burn (Epic, 1991), an album still regarded as a main source of influence for many Melodic and Hard Rock bands nowadays.
With the sudden change of musical climate and after another World tour without Pasqua, Giant disbanded, with their members becoming involved again in different projects. Particularly Giants frontman and lead guitarist Dann Huff went on to become one of the most in-demand producers of our era, working in the Rock, Pop and Country Music with countless artists including Shania Twain, Megadeth, Faith Hill, Madonna and Bon Jovi.
In 2001, the Italian uprising Melodic Rock indie Frontiers Records, prompted Giant to release III, an album that would landmark the rise the new Melodic Rock scene, particularly in Europe.
Unfortunately Danns busy schedule along with the other members commitments, made the reunion impossible to carry on as planned. However the vision of bringing back Giant as a living band unit, with a recording and touring line-up and with of course the possibility to offer the enormous legacy of the music
produced was developed, until it became apparent that Dann Huff could not be a full part of this concept, even though he loved everything that Giant was. Thus original members, drummer David Huff and bassist Mike Brignardello, started an endless research for the right musicians that could be part of a renewed Giant
line-up. And in the end the choice fell on singer extraordinaire Terry Brock (Strangeways, Seventh Key) and John Roth (Winger) on guitars.
In April 2009 the band started the writing and the recording sessions of the new album, with Dann Huff himself participating to the sessions, co-writing with the new line-up members the haunting ballad Our Love and the straight out rockers Double Trouble, Plenty of Love, Save Me. He offered songs from his catalogue,
such as the album title-track, Through My Eyes (both co-written with Mark Spiro) and Two Worlds. He also later guested on lead guitars on Save Me and Believer (Redux), the latter being a song written by Erik Martensson and Robert Sall of new Melodic Rock sensations W.E.T. with Miqael Persson (with two more: Never Surrender and Prisoner of Love fruit of the Martensson/Persson collaboration).
We have worked so hard and we are very happy and proud of this record, along with Dann, says David Huff and truly the production and band members songwriting and performances shine all over the album!
Promise Land includes the following songs:
Believer (Redux); Promise Land; Never Surrender; Our Love; Prisoner of Love; Two Worlds; Plenty of Love; Through My Eyes; Ill Wait For You; Dying To See You; Double Trouble; Complicated Man*, Save Me. Also includes The Making of Promise Land documentary – interactive multimedia bonus.
*Bonus track only available in the first pressing in digipak
Promise Land was mixed by Ben Fowler (Van Zandt, Cher, Meat Loaf) and mastered by Joe Palmaccio (3 Grammy Awards won) .
North Carolina KISS tribute band KLOWN announce the release of their live KISS tribute cd, KLOWN ALIVE II.

Krokus in full bloom again: The long anticipated comeback masterpiece of our rock legends is called «Hoodoo»!
All good things take time and delicate “sound” flowers of the likes of Krokus need special care – especially when they are expected to climb the charts like an artillery of thundering tanks!
For two years Krokus worked diligently on their highly anticipated comeback album. For the first time, the slightly grey-haired Swiss rock royalty from Solothurn sheds some light regarding their forthcoming release!
«Hoodoo» is the name of the new album, with which Chris von Rohr, Marc Storace, Fernando von Arb, Mark Kohler und Freddy Steady put you under their spell and prove once again that they are indeed ageless. You will be spellbound on February 26th, 2010, when the new cd is released.
Swiss boulevard paper “Blick” asked original founder Chris Von Rohr the question that was on most people’s mind: why did the fans had to wait that long for this new release? «We are only together for about two years in the original line-up and a killer song – much less an entire album – cannot be written, recorded and produced over night. The material needs to evolve, mature like a fine wine and one needs to be critical with one self, set the standards high and allow only the best material to make it on the album. No fillers – no compromises».
When it’s all said and done, the masterpiece should sound like a mixture of yesterday and tomorrow. Adds Chris: «It was my responsibility as producer to bring out of each musician their individual strength and to continue sound wise where we left off with ‹Metal-Rendez-Vous› and ‹Headhunter›. Back to the roots – but with today’s power, unstoppable like a steamroller!»
It is no wonder that expectations are high. Next spring, when the Krokus namesake tough flower breaks through winter’s ice and starts blooming, Krokus fans will witness firsthand what «Hoodoo» is all about. Describes guitarist Fernando Von Arb: «It’s gonna be an avalanche like, uncompromising, straight forward rock. Fasten your seatbelts, enjoy the ride and rock on!». Adds vocalist Marc Storace: «Definitely a one of a kind original Krokus album that will please fans». Bassist and producer Chris Von Rohr sums it all up: «To keep the end result top quality, it was ok that during the process of writing songs and recording them occasionally tempers flared within the band. We are no lame pussycat rockers; instead we stay true to ourselves. All the blood, sweat and painstaking effort during this 2-year journey was worthwhile!»
Drummer Freddy Steady and guitarist Mark Kohler, along with Chris, Marc and Fernando promise: «2010 will be a Krokus-Year – we will put a spell on everyone. “Hoodoo” style, one at a time! »

Swedish rockers Mean Streak released their debut CD, Metal Slave via Black Lodge Records in 2009. Mean Streak tapped into their NWOBHM influences to create a classic metal CD that kicks some major ass. Metal Slave is packed full of awesome vocals, and heavy guitar riffs that should easily please the masses.
I was immediately hooked with the opening riffs of “Whom The Gods Love Die Young”, and couldn’t stop listening to Metal Slave until the very end. Where on earth has Andy La Guerin been hiding? This guy has an excellent metal voice, and is one of the reasons why I find Metal Slave so fantastic. Guitarist Yngve Frank, who lays down some incredible riffs on this CD, is equally impressive.
Mean Streak has a sound that I believe is a cool mix of Judas Priest, Victory and a dabble of Iron Maiden. What the band lacks in originality, they more than make up for it, with their passion for this music, and it shows on Metal Slave.
Some of the highlights on this CD, are the tunes, “Eyes of the Stranger”,”Rock City”, and the title track “Metal Slave”. I truly enjoyed this CD, and I think you will too. You can listen to Metal Slave at myspace music, at this link. For more information on Mean Streak, please visit the band’s myspace page.

Frontiers Records is delighted to announce the release of BRIAN HOWE’s forthcoming solo album entitled “Circus Bar” on February 26th 2010 in Europe and March 9th in the USA.
Long regarded as one of rock’s legendary voices, Brian Howe started his career in 1983 as lead vocalist for Ted Nugent on the “Penetrator” album and fronting its band on the subsequent world tour. In 1984, drummer Simon Kirke and guitarist Mick Ralphs asked Brian to replace Paul Rodgers as the lead singer in Bad Company. Brian decided to accept the offer and continue the legend of the band. This was not an easy task, but along with Kirke and Ralphs, Brian created, wrote, recorded and toured for the following 10 years, headlining every major venue around the globe.
Along with Bad Company’s highly acclaimed 1993 live CD “What You Hear Is What You Get – The Best of Bad Company – Live“, Brian wrote and sold with Bad Company something like 19 million of records, highlighted by such radio and video hits as “Holy Water”, “If You Needed Somebody,” “No Smoke Without A Fire,” and “How About That,” – not to mention a few of the group’s previous hits as recorded on the “live” CD.
Thirteen years after the release of his debut solo album “Tangled in Blue” (later renamed “Touch” in Europe), Brian is back and ready to unleash his awesome new solo album entitled “Circus Bar”. “When I decided I wanted to make a new CD” tells Brian, ”I wanted to try to make everything memorable and enjoyable. Therefore I set aside a week for writing with my new producer Brooks Paschal and I decided we would go down to my favourite place in the entire world: Lake Atitlan , Guatemala, an incredibly inspirational place for me to be. We realized after three days that we had written enough songs for the CD and that took any pressure I had been feeling away and it soon became obvious that the CD should be named after that wonderful little bar where we spent our evenings eating, drinking and listening to the local music. The bar was started by circus performers and still has posters and pictures of all the great circus acts from throughout the years”.
Some friends helped Brian in shaping up “Circus Bar”, an album, which promises to be a career landmark for this amazing singer: Wayne Nelson of Little River Band dropped by the studio for a few days and also Pat Travers popped in and played guitar on “My Town“. “I didn’t want to have too many “established” musicians on the record because I wanted to keep the feel somewhat fresh and spontaneous”, explains Brian.
The album includes also two stunning – newly recorded – remakes of the Bad Company hits “How ‘Bout That” and “Holy Water”.
Produced by Brooks Paschal and mixed by Rafe McKenna (GIANT, BAD COMPANY, TESLA, TEN) “Circus Bar” tracklisting includes:
I’m Back; Life’s Mystery; There’s This Girl; Could Have Been You; Surrounded; Flying; How It Could Have Been; My Town; How ‘Bout That; Feels Like I’m Coming Home; If You Want Trouble; Feelings; Holy Water; Little George Street.
“I like to think that this CD is representative of an established artist with a modern outlook on what happening in today’s music scene” concludes Bryan. “It’s been 13 years since my last record and on this CD I have given them everything I have: music that appeals to anyone that likes big melodies with an edge”. 100% gold class awaits the faithful fans who will purchase “Circus Bar”, better believe it: Brian Howe is back to Rock !
“Martyr No More”, the first single from Fozzy’s hugely anticipated new album, Chasing The Grail, will be available for download on iTunes for $0.99 from Wednesday, December 16th, 2009.
After a long layoff following their debut album in 2005, Flyleaf is back with 14 rocking tunes in the form of their latest disc, Memento Mori. The power and energy with which lead vocalist Lacey Mosley sings is what makes this album so attractive. As she sings, we feel her pain, victory, and anguish, listening to her spill out all of her pent up emotion into the microphone. Mosley has a rare talent not seen in many vocalists; it’s the talent to capture your imagination with her power.
While the music from the rest of the band can sometimes be dismissed as cookie cutter that we’ve heard before, if you take a second listen, the depth of the music is obvious. The guitars, drums, and bass are all in sync with Mosley’s vocals, feeding off the emotion she provides. On notable tracks like Missing and This Close, we can not only hear the message in the music, we can feel it.
Memento Mori opens with the powerful “Beautiful Bride”. While it is a strong opener, it is far from the best music being offered on this disc. “Beautiful Bride” kicks in with the sound of drums knocking down your speakers and the grunge guitar riff filling your ears. This is a grand entrance for Flyleaf that makes the listener pay attention and prepare for what’s to come.
“Missing”, one of the best songs on Memento Mori, is a beautiful masterpiece that showcases Mosley’s vocal ability. Her voice is sweet and stylistic as the guitars surround her in a cocoon of blissful music. A sing along song that’s meant to be played at high volume during the summer while cruising the highway, “Missing’ shows what Flyleaf can be…an amazing band that could rule the airwaves.
“This Close” continues the standard of excellence set by its predecessor. This is another song that captures all of the raw power of an artful performer. With lyrics about not feeling alive, but being closer than ever before, “This Close” is a song about becoming who you were meant to be. It’s a triumphant anthem of blossoming into all you were meant to be, pushing yourself to the limits and overcoming all challenges laid out before you.
“Set Apart This Dream” is another incredible track that sets Flyleaf apart from the competition. A semi power ballad, Set Apart This Dream is a memorable tune that gets stuck in your head and doesn’t leave. You’ll be hitting the repeat button a couple of times when this song is through, because it’s meant to be played over and over again. With simple guitar riffs filling the background, the song builds during the verse before exploding into an excellent chanting chorus delivered with strength.
With solid music, poetic lyrics, and a powerful singer, Memento Mori is a worthy addition to your music collection. It was a long time coming, but Flyleaf’s sophomore effort will not be suffering from the dreaded jinx that has tortured many a band. Memento Mori is a solid record that pushes the limits of what a band can do when put up against the challenge of delivering a hit record.

* THE BIG FOUR CONFIRMED FOR SONISPHERE POLAND AND CZECH REPUBLIC *
* MORE BIG FOUR APPEARANCES AT SONISPHERE SHOWS PLANNED *
The world wide web has been abound with speculation on a possible “BIG FOUR” tour for several months. Now, SONISPHERE can exclusively reveal that METALLICA, SLAYER, MEGADETH and ANTHRAX will play together for the first time in history, in a move that will have metalheads across the globe frenzied with excitement.
Says LARS ULRICH/METALLICA of this historic announcement:
“Who would have thought that more than 25 years after its inception, thrash metal’s big 4 would not only still be around and more popular than ever, but will now play together for the first time…what a mindfuck! Bring it on!”
“It’s about fucking time this happened,” said SLAYER’s KERRY KING. “and about time the fans finally get what they want. This is fucking awesome.”
ANTHRAX guitarist SCOTT IAN agrees, commenting on the enormity of the announcement.
“People have been talking about these four bands playing together since 1984. That’s twenty-six years of expectation!!! And the thing is, I believe not only will we live up to the expectations, we will shatter them!! No other four bands as influential as the four of us have ever done this. Imagine if The Beatles, Stones, The Who and Zeppelin had done shows? Or Sabbath, Priest, Maiden, Motorhead? Well, I may be getting into some rarified air here but as a fan, that’s how big I feel this is.”
These four legendary acts broke out of the underground thrash movement to dominate the metal world in the 1980s, selling millions of records and packing arenas across the globe. The metal giants have never before all shared the same stage, despite huge demand. But on 16th June 2010, METALLICA, SLAYER, MEGADETH and ANTHRAX will take to the SONISPHERE stage at Bemowo Airport, Poland, to make the dreams of headbangers the world over become a reality. A second Big Four appearance is planned for SONISPHERE CZECH REPUBLIC three days later, with more SONISPHERE shows featuring the awesome combo to be announced in the coming days and weeks.
“This is a “once-in-a-lifetime” opportunity for Heavy Metal “Fans” to see the four greatest Heavy Metal “Bands” in American History back together on one stage” concludes MEGADETH mainman DAVE MUSTAINE. “If there are any heads left at the end of this Festival that haven’t banged, they don’t belong there.”

One of the many things that I love about Hard Rock Hideout, is all of the cool new bands we often discover. In the case of rockers Judge Jackson, they aren’t a new band at all. Their new CD Drive is already their fifth release (gasp!). When I hear music this good, it boggles my mind that I haven’t heard this band before. Judge Jackson’s sound is a good blend of classic & southern rock with some hard elements. The song writing is very good, and the musicianship is as solid as it gets.
The opening song “Just Because” kind of reminds me of a Buckcherry tune, minus all of the profanities. This is a good foot tapper, and a great start for Drive.
“Pickin’ Me Up” is another fun rocker that I had to keep hitting repeat on. The song “Radio” is such a monster tune, it ought to be played on rock stations everywhere. This super catchy rocker made me an instant fan of Judge Jackson.
The good tunes don’t stop there. “Head over Heels” is a hard rockin’ tune tailor made for driving. This song will make you want to roll your windows down, crank the volume, and rip the knob off of your stereo.
“The End” is a cool tune with a southern rock flair that brings The Black Crowes to mind.
There is no official word on the release date for Drive. You will need to keep an eye on the band’s myspace page for more info. The band has several songs from Drive streaming there. You will definitely want to grab a copy of this CD when it becomes available. Music this good should not be missed. Check it out!
