Bret Michaels’s health has taken a turn for the worse, PEOPLE has learned: After an excruciating headache late Thursday night, the star was rushed to an undisclosed hospital where doctors discovered he suffered a massive subarachnoid hemorrhage (bleeding at the base of his brain stem), according to a source close to the situation.
Michaels, 47, is currently in critical condition. “After several CAT scans, MRIs and an angiogram, [doctors] decided to keep Michaels in the ICU and are running several tests to determine the cause. [It] will be touch and go for the next few days while he is under intense observation,” the source says.

February 26th seems such a long time ago, when “Hoodoo” was released in multiple countries around the world. As you read on our NEWS page, the cd shot from zero to Number 1 in Switzerland in the first week of release and is in the charts in many other countries as well.
In Switzerland the cd turned “gold” on the 1st day of release and within 4 weeks after release earned the band “Platinum Record Award” status! Congrats to KROKUS and double-congrats to Chris Von Rohr, who besides co-writing, recording and designing the cd cover also produced the “Hoodoo” with blood, sweat and tears (of joy). Sony Music will present to the band their gold and platinum awards prior to the first concert of the “Hoodoo Tour” in Zuchwil on April 30th, 2010.
And 6 weeks after release, “Hoodoo” is still in the “Top 5” of the Swiss charts and continuously selling strong, thanks to all of you fans.
Yesterday, Japan released “Hoodoo” in their country and May 25th is the release date in the USA.
In 1979, the debut album from Accept was unleashed on the world. And it was good! In 1992, Jackyl’s debut took the world by storm. And it was good! In 2010, SNEW singer Curtis Don Vito was possessed by the spirit of Jesse James Dupree and Udo Dirkschneider. And it is good!
Ok, all seriousness aside, SNEW’s latest effort, “We Do What We Want” sounds like a blast from the past, and somehow manages to meld the sounds of Jackyl & Accept into ten shots of hard rock supremacy. Curtis Don Vito’s whiskey stained vocals have seemed to have gotten even stronger since NEW’s fantastic 2008 debut, SNEW YOU. Not only does Curtis sound better, but SNEW as a whole seems to have taken it up a notch. The guitar work of Andy Lux is excellent. He dishes out plenty of killer riffs for you to crank up and enjoy!
Some of my favorites are the Rhino Bucket like title track, “We Do What We Want”, SNEW’s new single, “Feedback and Distortion” and the rocker “Pick Up The Ball”.
I am a sucker for some good raunch & roll, and SNEW’s We Do What We Want delivers the goods. If I had any complaints, it would be that this CD ends far too fast. Good thing I have a repeat button! Grab your copy of this CD in the SNEW store, and let the headbanging commence!
