Black Tide will head out on the road this fall joining Bullet For My Valentine and Escape The Fate on their 31 date tour of North America. The tour kicks off September 16th in Wichita, KS at The Cotillon and also includes Drive A on the bill. See below for a complete list of tour dates.
Black Tide broke onto the music scene in a big way in 2008 with their fist-pumping, fret-burning, fast-paced metallic anthems on their Interscope Records debut Light From Above. The Florida based quartet is putting the finishing touches on their sophomore set which will be released in early 2011. The new album was recorded at Spin Studios in New York with producers GGGarth (Rage Against The Machine, Rise Against) and Josh Wilbur (Lamb of God).
Black Tide is one of a young, new generation of rock bands who are equally at home in the metal, hard rock, and alternative worlds as evidenced by their inclusion on various package tours – Vans Warped Tour, Ozzfest, Mayhem Festival- and as support for artists such as Avenged Sevenfold, Bullet For My Valentine, Escape the Fate and more. Lead vocalist/guitarist Gabriel Garcia, bassist Zakk Sandler, drummer Steven Spence and guitarist Austin Diaz immediately took to the road and to date has rocked over 300 shows in over 16 countries with over 1 million fans! Their debut, Light From Above, was released in March 2008 and garnered instant acclaim stateside with Rolling Stone naming the band one of the “Best Rookies of 2008” and “Metal’s New Teen Titans.” Spin Magazine went on to tap them as one of the “Next Big Things” and overseas Kerrang named them the “Best New Band of 2008!” Light From Above has sold over 100,000 albums and the band has had over 1 million views of their Youtube videos.

As fans in Oregon, Washington, and Colorado witnessed at the recent Y&T shows, the band has been kicking serious butt on this summer’s Facemelter tour. Even though Phil was experiencing severe back pain ever since the June European tour, he soldiered on and played the shows anyway. Now, with much regret, Phil’s doctors have ordered him off the tour to get the treatment he needs to move forward.
Extremely proud of the new Facemelter album, and the work that he, Dave, John, and Mike have done, Phil insisted the tour continue. So to honor his wish, we flew in a bass player to sub for Phil until he is able to return. As the band’s manager, Jill Meniketti, posted on the web site discussion forum about these recent events, Phil says: “On with the show.”
The guys are so sorry that they had to cancel the show in Springfield, IL, but Phil was receiving local treatment and tests in St. Louis and the band was unable to continue until that important business was finished. With less than 24-hour’s notice, Brad Lang (of Jet Red fame, War & Peace, and Foreigner) was gracious enough to step up to fill in on bass for the time being to help out the band and keep the tour continuing. He’s extremely proud and excited to be playing with Y&T and helping out for Phil. Brad’s doing a great job of representing the Y&T live experience. We want to thank you all for giving him the warm welcome he’s received on the shows he’s played so far.
For the record, Y&T has only cancelled one show on this US tour — Springfield, IL — and that one cancellation was due to Phil’s medical needs. Any other shows that have been cancelled or changed or moved in any way are the fault of the agent and/or local promoter for that particular original show.
We hope all of you fans who live near where Y&T is playing the next few weeks will come out to support the band, as they play the classics, as well as songs from the new Facemelter CD.

“AC played the Rock N’ America festival in OK, last week with us and was the shot out of a cannon ball of fire we were looking for.along with Dario Lorina this guitar team is second to none, and with Marten Andersson on bass and Joey Scott on the drums Lizzy Borden is all set to blast though the rest of 2010 and beyond. We are rehearsing and gearing up for what promises to be an amazing trek around Europe. Playing a different country almost every night is such a cool thing to do, something we have not done since 2008 and we all can’t wait to get on that plane!” – Lizzy

In 2007 MONSTER MAGNET’S Bob Pantella and Jim Baglino created their own alternate universe under the RIOTGOD banner, inviting guitarist Garrett Sweeny and the estranged vocalist known only as Sunshine to travel the cosmos with them. Their achieved collective goal is RIOTGOD, their self-titled debut album containing some of the most energetic, recognizable and high quality Hard Rock this side of Mars.
Drummer and founding member Bob Pantella spoke about the formation of RIOTGOD:
“It was just Jim and myself, you know, just spending a lot of time on the road and we just had a lot of music that we wanted to create. With Monster Magnet, that’s not really the case for us sometimes. That’s more of Dave’s thing, so we really just wanted to get together and do something a bit more on our own. There’s a lot of time off and personally we like to work a lot so, the desire to do more began building up over the last couple of years.
We wanted to try our own thing and call our own shots with musical direction and stuff. We talked about it for years and it took a long time to really find the right people and get going. I’ve always had my recording studio, so it was easy in that aspect but it was hard to find the right ingredients-you know, sounds, personalities and such. We know nothing’s perfect but you want to get people into the same head space. My singer Sunshine, who I love, the guy is a crazy son of a bitch, but musically we’re in the same place. His lyrics are amazing, and he’s got a great voice. He can pretty much sing anything that you can think of. I give him the music, and by the next day, it’s ready to be recorded. It gels with what I’m writing perfectly. This is a great band to take us to a different level. Being in Monster Magnet is an awesome opportunity to launch other things for us.”
RIOTGOD‘s self-titled debut will be released August 17th on Metalville Records.

Without a doubt, THE heavy metal success story of the early ’80s was none other than Quiet Riot. After years of struggling in LA clubs (despite legendary guitarist Randy Rhoads being in their ranks throughout the ’70s), the classic QR line-up of Kevin DuBrow (vocals), Frankie Banali (drums), Rudy Sarzo (bass), and Carlos Cavazo (guitar) hit mega-success with their first-ever US release in 1983, the classic ‘Metal Health.’ Spawning two hit singles that have gone on to become synonymous with heavy metal – “Cum On Feel the Noize” and “Metal Health” – the ‘Metal Health’ album went on to become the first-ever metal US debut to hit the #1 spot on the Billboard album charts, and resulted in a solid year of sold-out shows and non-stop MTV video airplay.
