Sully Erna’s latest masterpiece, Avalon, was released today on Universal Republic Records. The album features an array of eclectic compositions unlike anything he has ever written in the past, an epic body of work that has taken him over 2 years to compose, record and finally release, utilizing the hypnotic sounds of tribal rhythms, melodic pianos and cellos, and haunting vocals. Avalon also features the accompanying vocals of Lisa Guyer, as well as the hand percussion of Niall Gregory from renowned band Dead Can Dance. The first single off the record, “Sinner’s Prayer,” showcases his evolution in music and firmly defines his unique, new sound. Make sure to grab the album in stores everywhere or on iTunes now!
Sully is best known as the lead singer and main songwriter of the acclaimed rock band Godsmack, whose self-titled 1998 debut went quadruple-platinum, while five of the band’s albums and EPs have achieved gold or platinum status in the U.S. and Canada. Godsmack’s latest single, “Cryin’ Like a Bitch,” recently positioned itself at #1 for 9 weeks straight, and is the group’s sixth #1 track to land on Active Rock radio charts, as well as the band’s 18th Top 10 single overall — more than any other band in Active Rock history.

A new North American release date for the new full-length from PRO-PAIN has been set for September 28th, via Regain Records. The powerful new album, entitled Absolute Power, is the thirteenth studio full-length from these American crossover champions.
Absolute Power explores several sides to the tried-and-true American unit’s somewhat patented sound. While a vast chunk of the album immediately recalls standard PRO-PAIN NYC-style metal/hardcore crossover attacks, many elements at play on Absolute Power infiltrate totally new ground for the band. Recorded at Little Creek Studio in Gelterkinden, Switzerland, the record features ten thunderous anthems that bridge the gap between the hardcore club and the rock arena.
Absolute Power Track Listing:
02. Destroy The Enemy
03. Stand My Ground [featuring Schmier from Destruction]
04. Road To Nowhere
06. Hell On Earth
07. Divided We Stand
08. Gone Rogue (I Apologize)
09. Rise Of The Antichrist
10. Hate Coalition
Formed by vocalist/bassist Gary Meskil (ex-Crumbsuckers), New York-based PRO-PAIN have over the years benefited from substantial support from an ever-growing and loyal fanbase as well as metal media and radio. Today, now joined by long term guitarist Tom Klimchuck, as well as newer members Marshall Stephens on rhythm guitar and Ricky Halverson (ex-Narcotic Self, Cellador, Stephen Pearcy’s RATT) on drums, the band’s worldwide catalog sales approaches one million units.
“Musically, the band is well into its second decade but their high energy attack still hits like a runaway freight train… This is everything that you would want from a NYHC album…” – Brooklyn Rocks
“If metal were a dependability contest, then no one would be more popular than Pro-Pain.”
“…the band knows how to dish out one tasty-meaty riff after another and the catchiness lies mostly in the songs’ choruses.” – Slug Magazine
“Let us not neglect our forefathers but honor those that deserving honoring. Pro-Pain broke the chains shackling me to generic, current music by showing that older can definitely be superior.” – The New Review
“…what we have here is Pro-Pain. Plain, simple, to the point and powerful.” – Pitriff

Special guests on What Lies Beneath include Phil Labonte (All That Remains), Joe Satriani, Jason Hook (5 Finger Death Punch), Will Calhoun (Living Colour), The Slovak National Symphony Orchestra and Choir and more. About.com said the album features “tons of melody to spare, and Tarja’s soaring soprano all over the place” while RockSound extolls, “this remains very much a distinctly classy showcase for Turunen’s utterly flawless, inimitable vocals, strong songwriting skills, and admirable desire to neither rest on her laurels, nor confine herself to any particular style.”
