Former Deep Purple Keyboardist Jon Lord Fighting Cancer

Former DEEP PURPLE keyboardist Jon Lord has posted the following message on his website today:
“I would like all my friends, followers, fans and fellow travelers to know that I am fighting cancer and will therefore be taking a break from performing while getting the treatment and cure. I shall of course be continuing to write music – in my world it just has to be part of the therapy – and I fully expect to be back in good shape next year.
God bless and see you soon, Jon.”
Lord’s webmaster states: “May we also, at Jon’s request, ask if everyone could please respect his need for privacy so that he can spend time with his family (and his music). Thank you.”

Ive always thought that keyboards was a major part of shaping what we all hear and know as deep Purple. It wouldnt be Purple without them. R.I.P. Jon 😦
Dear Jon, God was needing the best Guy to play his Hammonds at the Heaven’s Music Fields. So Him took a look down and asked you to meet Him. We all will miss you, but we’re sure someday watch you playin Lazy up there! I’m sure you found The Highway to Stars!
You probably won’t believe it, but after listening to Deep Purple in Rock for the first time back in 1970 the only thing that got firmly stuck in our brains was that brilliant keyboard intro to Speed King which we used to play back time and time again … Get well soon, Mr Lord! You are the best! We love you so much!
God Bless Jon Lord. May he find the strength and courage to win.
Jon, you are the God of Hammond and my Great Hero. You are in my pray. I’m sure the Another Lord will be a whole time with you helping in this fight.
(my name is Jones, I’m from Brazil and I play Hammond)
God Bless you Jon!

Dear Jon,
I pray the Lord to help in your fight, and I am sure you will beat it.
See you soon on stage, you were a major reason why I started my piano lessons at an early age and then fell in love with the Hammond B3.
God bless you and may he be by your side.
Till Later,
A.
