Roadrunner Records is delighted to welcome multi-platinum rock band SHINEDOWN to the family, for all territories excluding the USA (where they remain with Atlantic). In addition, Roadrunner and SHINEDOWN are excited to announce the much anticipated release of their new album, titled “AMARYLLIS”. “AMARYLLIS” will arrive in stores and at all digital retailers on March 26, 2012.
The first chance for fans to hear the “AMARYLLIS” recordings will be the eagerly awaited new single, “Bully” – coming to radio soon and available to buy from 22 January! The track is Shinedown’s first new music since seeing all six singles from 2008’s “THE SOUND OF MADNESS” go to #1 on the US rock radio chart.
SHINEDOWN frontman Brent Smith comments, “I’ve always seen Shinedown as its own entity – this living thing that’s been growing and developing and evolving over the past 10 years. During the recording, the vision of what Shinedown is and where it’s going became completely clear. ‘AMARYLLIS’ is the manifestation of that vision, the centerpiece of what Shinedown is. It reflects on everything we’ve done and where we’re heading. It’s a message of empowerment, perseverance, and inspiration that I think speaks to fans that have been with us since the beginning as well as those who are just learning about who we are and what we’re about. I can’t wait for the world to hear it.”
Recorded at Cavallo’s Lightning Sound studios outside of Los Angeles and a pair of Hollywood landmarks, Ocean Way Recording and Capitol Studios, “AMARYLLIS” sees SHINEDOWN joining forces once more with multiple Grammy Award-winning producer Rob Cavallo (Kid Rock, Green Day), who previously collaborated with the band on 2008’s record-breaking “THE SOUND OF MADNESS.” That album proved Shinedown’s mainstream breakthrough, debuting at #8 on the Billboard 200 before spending 120 consecutive weeks on the chart.
Shinedown supported “THE SOUND OF MADNESS” with a wide range of live TV appearances, including performances on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live!, NBC’s The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and The Today Show, CBS’ The Early Show, and the 2010 NHL Awards show. In 2009, the band received an American Music Award nomination for “Best Alternative Rock Band.”

THE DOORS TO DEBUT NEWLY DISCOVERED SONG “SHE SMELLS SO NICE” MONDAY, JANUARY 9 VIA THE GROUP’S FACEBOOK PAGE
“THE YEAR OF THE DOORS” UNDERWAY WITH 40TH ANNIVERSARY REISSUE OF ICONIC L.A. WOMAN ALBUM
AND NEW DVD/BLU-RAY “MR. MOJO RISIN’: THE STORY OF L.A. WOMAN” JANUARY 24, 2012 VIA RHINO AND EAGLE ROCK ENTERTAINMENT DVD TO BE SCREENED FRIDAY, JANUARY 20 AT THE EGYPTIAN THEATRE IN HOLLYWOOD WITH ELEKTRA RECORDS’ JAC HOLZMAN, ROCK RADIO DJ JIM LADD AND SPECIAL SURPRISE GUESTS
“THE YEAR OF THE DOORS” officially kicks off on Monday, January 9 at noon Eastern when the iconic rock band will officially debut the first new, completely unreleased song in 40 years, “SHE SMELLS SO NICE.” The bluesy track captures the band–organist RAY MANZAREK, guitarist ROBBY KRIEGER, drummer JOHN DENSMORE and late singer JIM MORRISON–joyfully barreling through the full-throttle original. Bruce Botnick, the album’s co-producer with the band, recently made the discovery while reviewing the L.A. WOMAN session tapes. The song will premiere on the band’s Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/thedoors) on Monday and will then be serviced to radio the following day.
The group’s final album–1971’s L.A. WOMAN, with the signature hits “L.A. Woman,” “Love Her Madly” and “Riders On The Storm”–is being celebrated with a special 40th anniversary two-CD release from Rhino and a behind-the-scenes DVD/Blu-ray from Eagle Rock Entertainment.
In addition to “She Smells So Nice,” the second disc of the L.A. WOMAN reissue includes eight never-before-heard versions of songs from the album. Alternate takes of “L.A. Woman,” “Love Her Madly” and “Riders On The Storm” offer a fresh view on this landmark album, which was the group’s sixth straight Top 10. The studio chatter between the songs is a revelation, transporting listeners to The Doors Workshop: the West Hollywood rehearsal space where they recorded the album with Botnick. One segment in particular captures a fascinating moment of inspiration when Morrison suggests they add the now-iconic thunderstorm sound effects to the beginning of “Riders On The Storm.”

Legacy Recordings is proud to announce the domestic release of two essential new titles from the seminal metal band Scorpions: Comeblack, a new album of classic rock covers and fresh performances of signature repertoire recorded earlier this year, and Get Your Sting and Blackout – Live in 3D, available on Blu-ray disc, an 11-camera 3-D concert film recorded in Saarbrucken, Germany on April 15, 2011 during Scorpions current farewell tour.
Launched by guitarist Rudolf Schenker in 1965, Scorpions forged metal, rock and pop into a sound that’s come to signify an entire genre through hard rock anthems like “Rock You Like A Hurricane” and hits like “Send Me An Angel,” “Wind of Change” and “Still Loving You,” selling more than 100 million records in the process.
Last year, Scorpions announced that the group’s Get Your Sting and Blackout tour, an epic ongoing worldwide rock ‘n’ roll odyssey in support of 2010’s Sting in the Tail, would be the group’s last before retirement. The tour is slated to run through 2012 with a string of historic farewell blowouts and festival performances scheduled Europe culminating with shows at the Wacken Open Air festival (August 4, 2012) and Munich’s Olympiahalle (October 13, 2012).
Wanting to create a truly memorable concert film to do justice to power of the live show and the high energy emotional impact of the final tour, Scorpions chronicled the sold-out concert on April 15, 2011 in Saarbrucken, Germany with a state-of-the-art 3D production. Helmed by director Gerd F. Schultze (who’s worked on 3D films with Michael Jackson, Bryan Adams, Joe Cocker, Carlos Santana and German superstar Peter Maffay), Get Your Sting and Blackout – Live in 3D puts the viewer into the VIP box at the ultimate Scorpions concert.

When The Smoke Is Going DownAt some point during the Get Your Sting and Blackout tour (“We can’t remember the day, the month or the hour”), Scorpions, enjoying the success of Sting in the Tail and the emotional rejuvenation of the farewell tour (“Screaming fans everywhere we went!”) decided to record one last classic album. “The idea to go back to the studio was born out of pure excitement,” said the band who cut an album mixing covers of rock ‘n’ roll standards that informed and inspired the Scorpions alongside new productions and performances of the songs in the band’s core catalog that have proved the most meaningful to the members. The result, Comeblack, is, according to the band, “an encore for our die-hard fans, to thank them for all the support for so many years. At the same time, this is a tribute to legendary bands from the sixties, like the Beatles and the Rolling Stones, who have inspired us to follow our dreams. We hope you like it as much as we do… Rock on and … Comeblack.”
