In support of their upcoming release Out the of the Darkness A SOUND OF THUNDER have announced a string of North American tour dates, including a special CD release show, an MS Benefit concert, and appearances with Sabaton and Virgin Steele. A complete list of dates can be found below.
Vocalist and frontwoman Nina Osegueda commented on the upcoming tour:
“The guys and I are excited to finally bring our mayhem around the US! We’re sharing the bill with great bands in every city, and are honored to be playing with acts like Sabaton, Virgin Steel, Brocas Helm, and Skull Fist along the way. We promise to play at full blast and full intensity every night…the only challenge will be playing with hangovers and sore necks!”
Relatively new faces in the metal world, A SOUND OF THUNDER is fronted by
powerful lead vocalist Nina Osegueda. Lead guitarist Josh Schwartz and drummer Chris Haren founded A SOUND OF THUNDER in 2008. Nina joined in 2009, and was followed by bass and keyboard player, Jesse Keen, in 2010. In less than two years, A SOUND OF THUNDER recorded and released an EP, a charity single benefiting the West Memphis Three, and a full length self-produced album. They have performed throughout the US, and opened for such high profile bands as Accept, Sabaton, Firewind, Primal Fear and Doro.
The songs for Out of the Darkness were written and arranged by Josh Schwartz and the rest of A Sound of Thunder, with lyrics written by Nina Osegueda and Chris Haren. Legendary Raven front-man John Gallagher also appears, performing a duet with Nina on the title track Out of the Darkness.

To give the already-growing mass of fans what they want now, SINS, the second album from CHARM CITY DEVILS, will be released exclusively via iTunes on April 1 via Fat Lady Music.
The first single from SINS, a cover of “Man Of Constant Sorrow” (from the Grammy®-winning soundtrack of the George Clooney Oscar®-nominated film “O Brother, Where Art Thou?”), is quickly making a name for itself on the Rock radio airwaves. Fans have been burning up the request lines on such radio outlets as SiriusXM’s “Octane” channel, 98 Rock (Baltimore), KILO (Colorado Springs), WZBH (Ocean City), KHTQ (Spokane), KQXR (Boise), WJXQ (Lansing) and KTUX (Shreveport). “Man Of Constant Sorry” recently debuted on Billboard’s “Active Rock” chart at #36. A lyric video for the song was recently released and can be seen here: http://bit.ly/wDUuy2.
When the band (singer John Allen, guitarist Vic Karrera, bassist Anthony Arambula, guitarist Nick Kay and drummer Jason Heiser) started to put the new album together, they discussed covering a classic song and incorporating it into their live show. As singer John Allen, “There were many ideas kicked around, but which one? ‘Man Of Constant Sorrow’ came up and we decided to give it a try. It’s an incredibly powerful song, but it was a challenge to develop and arrange it in a way that captured the essence of the song but would also ROCK! We all loved the version from ‘O Brother, Where Art Thou?’ Skidd Mills and I built a foundation and with much tweaking and editing, and I think we delivered a great version of the song. The song transcends generations. It’s a timeless classic and it’s been around a long time. I’m excited to bring it to a whole new group of rock fans.”
SINS finds the Baltimore band adding harder, edgier tones to their blues-based roots. The result of the band’s life experiences over the past few years, SINS features an aggression and energy that hits you right between the eyes. From the first note of “Spite” to the last cymbal crash of “Unstoppable,” SINS showcases the bands power, directness and new found energy and intensity.
Recorded at Sound Kitchen Studios in Nashville with Grammy-winning producer Skidd Mills (Saving Abel, Egypt Central), guitarist Nick Kay reflects on the process, “Our previous record had been a compilation of songs written and recorded over a two to three year period. It was recorded in a couple of different settings and tracked by a few different people. This time, we went into one studio with one producer to give the record a cohesive sound and direction.”
“Everyone has ups and downs – that’s life,” proclaims singer John Allen. “I’ve been a professional musician since I could carry my gear and have seen and experienced what this industry ‘good and bad’ has to offer. We wanted SINS to be deep with songs that people can relate to. On this record, I wanted to put it all out there with songs about love, anger, revenge, lust and all the emotions that I was feeling. Expressing what I, and everyone in this band, had been through. These feelings are universal. They touch everyone and we used our experiences to put together a powerful statement that we believe listeners can connect with.”
And what about the album title? “When it came to giving the record a title we wanted something that hit a nerve,” he continues. “We have five different personalities in this band and it can sometimes be a challenge to agree on one idea. The one thing we all could agree on is in one form or another we have all sinned. Some of us more than others.”

Tension: 25 Years Underground by Rudy Childs – Heavy Metal Documentary World Premiere
Opening Night of Neon Reverb Music & Arts Festival, Las Vegas, Nevada, March 20th, 2012
There is nothing more exciting than being on the threshold of a new type of music. Tension: 25 Years Underground takes us back to 1978 when teenagers Tom Gattis and Marty Friedman met and formed the rock band Deuce (later known as Tension). These kids churned out a style of music that underwent a complete metamorphosis — growing from punk-inspired rock ‘n roll, into classic heavy metal at a time when that genre of music was way under the radar of most rock fans.
Tension: 25 Years Underground takes us through the entire decade of the band’s existence, beginning as teenagers practicing in their legendary rehearsal space “The Barn,” through securing a record deal, and on to their unfortunate demise in 1988. Interwoven throughout the band’s storyline are sidebars touching on rock culture, music and censorship, topics important to the band during their tenure. Painstakingly constructed from new interviews, music and vintage concert footage, this film reveals the engrossing story of an innovative band that simply existed in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Despite their trials and tribulations, Tension’s members have achieved success in their own personal ways, which have become rewarding in itself. With this film, their musical legacy lives on — in fact, they have reunited to open for Anvil and Arch Matheos at the sold out Keep It True Festival in Germany (their first gig abroad) in April 2012.

Oakland, CA-based heavy rock band Electric Sister is announcing “I Want It All” as the second single from the debut full-length record, THE LOST ART OF ROCK & ROLL on March 6, 2012. The 9-track album, released in October 2011, has been a critical success and the first single (title track) is still on radio across the country.
“I Want It All” demonstrates all the forces that embody Electric Sister. Musically, it is raw and
intense, showing signs of metal, rock, and punk: the bulldozing guitars, headstrong rhythm, and audacious vocals. Lyrically, it’s blunt and aggressive, but without pretense.
“Outta time, now I’m bleeding. I want it all, ain’t no truth, rhyme, or reason.”
The video is part performance, part conceptual, based on the idea of capturing the rock and roll spirit of each of the band members. Utilizing the camera, car (the classic Impala “Sophia”) and authentic Latin Day of the Dead masks of new bandmate Scott Reategui Richards, the video was produced, shot, and edited in two weeks independently by the band. “Everything came together for a reason on this one,” said Jason Lucero. “It was all of us just passing the camera back and forth between band members, tossing ideas around for angles. We had a blast because we were like oversized kids just seeing what we could get away with!” The band pays homage to its home city with settings that hold some of the band’s history, like The Uptown, Heart & Dagger, and Soundwave Studios. The new photos were taken on Treasure Island, with the expanse of the Bay Area behind the band.
In addition to hitting the road in support of THE LOST ART OF ROCK & ROLL, Electric Sister will appear with epic rock heavy-hitters on two tribute albums early this year. To honor Van Halen, they’ve recorded “Drop Dead Legs” and are tackling “Killers” for Iron Maiden.
Electric Sister is: Thadeus Gonzalez (vocals), Jason Lucero (guitars and vocals), Nicholas Hernandez (guitars and vocals), Scott Reategui Richards (bass) and Eddie Colmenares (drums).
THE LOST ART OF ROCK & ROLL is available online at iTunes, Amazon, Rhapsody, 7digital, Spotify and at the band’s website.

LA’s Armored Saint are excited to announce that they’ll be heading to Europe in July. At Sonisphere in France, the SAINT will be playing on the same day as Ghost, Evanescence, Wolfmother, Soulfly, Lacuna Coil, and more. Band Your Head’s list of confirmed band’s includes Arch Enemy, Exodus, Thin Lizzy, Primordial, and more. Dong Open Air also features Napalm Death, Sepultura, and many others. Along with the festival appearances, ARMORED SAINT will be playing three headlining shows with UK’s Collapse as the supporting act.
ARMORED SAINT’s John Bush elaborates on the dates: “I’m very excited for our upcoming summer dates. First, Armored Saint has never played in France. Not only are we doing the awesome Sonisphere show, we are also doing a headline club show in Paris. About fucking time. Also, we’re extremely pumped to play the Bang Your Head festival again. It’s one of the best metal shows in Germany. Plus, we get to be part of the DONG festival. First time there. The tour wouldn’t be complete without playing in Holland, which is the first country Armored Saint ever played in Europe back in 1989; and Zurich, where it will be our first time to headline in the beautiful country of Switzerland. Armored Saint doesn’t tour all that often so come out and join us, cause you’re never sure when or if we’ll be touring again. We’ll be playing songs from our entire catalog as well as from our most recent record, La Raza, which we’re extremely proud of. See ya this summer.”

“THERE MUST ALWAYS BE A BEGINNING AND THERE MUST ALWAYS BE AN END….
BUT WHILE YOU’RE HERE, IT’S ABOUT THE MESSAGE YOU SEND”… S.U.N.
Something Unto Nothing (S.U.N.), a name all together fresh and rooted in rock ‘n’ roll, is setting onto the music scene breaking the social traditions that have become the rock norm. Headed up by the whiskey soaked voice of Sass Jordan, a Canadian icon and Juno Award winner with music partner renown drummer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, Briian Tichy known for his tours of duty with Billy Idol, Foreigner, Ozzy and currently Whitesnake, their self titled debut album hopes to smash through the anonymity and secure a place in the current rock landscape.
Sass Jordan has an innate talent capable of conveying powerful emotion through heart-stomping, primal, rock-and-roll singing. S.U.N’s debut album is explosive, crushing, real and soulful with its natural fusion of blues and rock. Jordan’s vocal intensity proves a perfect match for the high-energy guitar playing of Tichy and her band-mates that provide the unique music palette that is S.U.N.
Previously working together is what brought Jordan and Tichy together in collaboration of the new music. “I had played drums on Sass’s ‘RATS’ record” explains Tichy. “I knew she was one of the best rock singers going. So after many years, we reconnected and tried a bit of writing together”. Both felt that in order to write the best, trend-free music they could, they needed to get away. They chose the mountains of Canyon Country and in an old, deserted shack S.U.N. was born. “We didn’t realize where we going when we started out”, says Jordan. “As we continued the songwriting path from Burned to Mobile Again to Nomad and on … The whole thing started to take shape in the form of a 70’s odyssey, a time travel trajectory.”
Completing the band that drives this music home is Marty O’Brien (We Are The Fallen/Tommy Lee/ Static X/ Disturbed) on bass and Tommy Stewart on drums (Godsmack, Lo Pro, Everclear, Fuel).
S.U.N. will be playing their first ever live performance at the Viper Room in Hollywood this Tuesday night! S.U.N. is now finishing up mixes to their “Something Unto Nothing” record and looking for the best platform to release the music to their fans. Kosta Zafiriou, drummer and original member of PINK CREAM 69 left the band. He will be replaced by his good friend and long time drum tech Chris Schmidt, who played drums for Sunstorm, Harry Hess’ First Signal and more.
Kosta: “It was a very hard decision to leave the band I co-founded back in 1987, but I am sure this is the right step. Due to my various activities with my company Bottom Row plus being the drummer and manager of my new band UNISONIC, more and more I felt I was retarding PC 69´s career. Chris is a great drummer and a good friend of the band since many years, which makes him the perfect match for PINK CREAM 69. I wish the guys only the best and look forward to see the first show with him – as a visitor, enjoying the songs that accompanied me half of my life!”
The band already started recording the successor to the “In10sity”-album on the 1st of march. The new, yet-untitled, effort will be released by Marquee/Avalon (Japan + SouthEast Asia) and Frontiers Records (rest of the world) in the autumn of 2012.
Says guitarist Alfred Koffler: “The vibe within the band is very enthusiastic and creative. There are far too many strong songs by Dennis (Ward), David (Readman) and myself to pick from. There will be eleven of them on the album plus a couple of bonus tracks for the different markets and formats. We also will have guest appearances by two famous musicians on the new record – both fans of the band. More on that soon!”
For the release of the new PINK CREAM 69 album, the band will also be shooting a new video clip – the first one since “Shame”. The band will be appearing at several European festivals during the summer and will tour after the release of the album.
