Buckcherry has released a provocative new video for “Gluttony”–the first single from their new Confessions album. The daring clip was directed by Billy Jayne and features the band performing the song in a church filled with people indulging in all types of vices, while the video’s protagonist struggles to overcome his own gluttony.
Check out the clip here:
The multi-platinum Los Angeles rock band will release Confessions February 19, 2013 via Century Media Records and the “Gluttony” single is available for purchase through iTunes now (https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/gluttony-single/id584509774).
Buckcherry vocalist Josh Todd explains the inspiration for the “Gluttony” video: “The concept of the video is excess, consuming everything excessively, and moderation is not even in the equation. I’m very familiar with that, and a lot of guys in the band are familiar with that.”
He continues: “Because the record is called Confessions, we filmed the video in a church, we got Jesus down there–which is killer–and we got a lot of our fans in it, which is amazing. They came out on their own time and really put in a lot of sweat equity, so thank you to them.”
Guitarist Keith Nelson elaborates, “We worked with Billy Jayne, who hasn’t done a lot of music videos. It was really refreshing to see his take on what we’re doing because he totally gets the music, he’s connecting with it, and he’s taking it to a different place than a guy who does videos for a living. We got a guy who actually makes movies and TV shows to put his spin on it and it’s been really positive.”
Buckcherry is currently on the road headlining North American shows and will join Kid Rock as special guests on the upcoming Rebel Soul Tour beginning February 2 in Kansas City, MO. The first leg of the tour runs through March 2 and band has also been added to the second leg of dates for trek which run from March 18 in Sioux Falls, SD through April 6 in Saginaw, MI.
While on tour, Buckcherry is previewing songs from Confessions, the band’s sixth studio album and first U.S. release for Century Media Records. Confessions merges punk grit, gutter attitude, honest storytelling, and razor sharp hooks. The lyrics are tied together by the underlying theme of the Seven Deadly Sins.
Buckcherry—Josh Todd (vocals), Keith Nelson (guitar), Stevie D. (guitar), Jimmy Ashhurst (bass), Xavier Muriel (drums)–are one of the premier rock bands of the new millennium, having sold more than three million records in America alone and touring virtually non-stop, playing with everyone from AC/DC to Avenged Sevenfold, touring sold-out arenas alongside Nickelback and KISS, and headlining festivals ranging from the punk rock Ink-N-Iron (also featuring the Misfits and Pennywise) to Sturgis. Radio staples “Lit Up,” “Crazy Bitch” and “Sorry” have cemented the band as one of the most identifiable and sought-after bands on the radio and the live circuits.

Frontiers Records is excited to announce the release of PRETTY MAIDS anticipated new album entitled « Motherland » on March 22nd in Europe and March 26th in North America.
After their successful and highly acclaimed 2010 album “Pandemonium”, Danish melodic Hard Rockers, Pretty Maids celebrated their 30th anniversary with their debut visual release “It Comes Alive (Maid in Switzerland)” in 2012. “Pandemonium” showed the world that Pretty Maids were in a creative spring again, with the band in their finest moment. The melodic approach brought a return to the “Future World / Red Hot and Heavy” era of the eighties, but with an updated sound and freshness that consolidated Pretty Maids as strong as ever.
In late spring 2012, the band gathered to finally write the follow up album. Singer Ronnie Atkins tells: “We knew it was going to be a tough one to follow ! I remember back in the day when we had to follow up albums like “Future World”, we tried more or less to copy the songs from the previous album to keep the same kind of balance. But this time we just wrote what came natural to us and that’s what became “Motherland”.
The band teamed up again with producer Jacob Hansen (Volbeat, Amaranthe) for the new album. Ronnie says: “Jacob was a natural choice since we had a great experience with him producing the “Pandemonium” album. The recordings went smooth to begin with, but then we had to start touring again during the weekends and this created some stress. Though I really feel strongly about “Motherland”. In my view it has all the ingredients of a good Pretty Maids album, maybe even more melodic than “Pandemonium” and absolutely, as far as I’m concerned a worthy follow up”.
Founded in early 1982 by guitarist Ken Hammer and singer Ronnie Atkins, Pretty Maids soon established themselves as a band to be taken seriously in the early eighties, having their breakthrough with the release – in April 1987 – of the album “Future World”. This record soon gathered a universal recognition as a “Classic”, which endures to date, and allowed the band to perform in from of large audiences thanks to their tour with Deep Purple and their appearances in the “Monsters of Rock” festival. The following album “Jump The Gun” kept the momentum for the band, particularly in Europe and Japan.
Throughout the nineties Pretty Maids continued to release albums, usually followed by European and Japanese tours with the band still maintaining a very high songwriting and production standards. The release of “Wake up to the Real World” in 2006 started the band’s relationship with Frontiers Records.
“Motherland” will include the following tracks:
Mother Of All Lies; To Fool A Nation; Confession; The Iceman; Sad To See You Suffer; Hooligan; Infinity; Why So Serious; Motherland; I See Ghosts; Bullet For You; Who What Where When Why; Wasted.
The release of the new album will be preceded by the release of the single / video “Mother of All Lies” which will hit the streets on January 22nd 2013. A sample of the single can be heard following this link:
Pretty Maids will play numerous festivals this summer such as Wacken Open Air and Bang Your Head !!!, followed by an extensive world tour in support of “ Motherland”.
Pretty Maids are stronger than ever – don’t miss them on tour !!!
Ronnie Atkins – vocals
Ken Hammer – guitars
Morten Sandager – keyboards
Allan Tschicaja – drums
Rene Shades – bass
Happy New Year all, and welcome to the first 2013 edition of Vie’s Verses! This year, I would like to start a new segment for my column that will pop up on occasion — bands we don’t cover enough. At Hard Rock Hideout we strive to bring you the most diverse collection of hard rock bands that we can. From the latest rising stars to the old classics, Hard Rock Hideout attempts to discuss them all. However, every now and again, there is a band that just falls through the cracks.
Hence, the new segment, where I will do my best to pay homage to a band that just hasn’t been covered enough. Hopefully it will encourage you to seek out their music and give them a try. It’s the New Year, the perfect time to try and get yourself hooked on some new music, or a band that you may have missed. For this inaugural segment, I’d like to discuss a band that I have fallen in love with recently, Rise Against.
Best described as modern punk, Rise Against is a hard rock band from Chicago, Illinois that formed in 1999 and found some commercial success starting in 2004 with the release of their commercial debut album Siren Song Of The Counter Culture. Some rock lovers would be quick to dismiss Rise Against as mainstream pop and lump them in with the likes of Shinedown, or Nickelback, albeit not as enjoyable. That’s a shameful way to portray a band that is as deep and talented as Rise Against. This is a band that has their own, unique, signature style, and if anything, they remind me more of Foo Fighters.
The band’s most recent album is Endgame, and while it is a strong and solid record, it is their prior release, Appeal To Reason, that really turned me into a fan. Filled with gems like “The Dirt Whispered,” “Audience Of One,” and the band’s best song, “Savior,” Appeal To Reason is a solid record containing monster hits of hard rock beauty. If you are new to the band, Appeal To Reason should be the first album that you listen to. It serves as an excellent introduction to Rise Against as well as showing off their abilities both musically and lyrically.
Lead singer/songwriter Tim McIlrath is a poetic genius when it comes to crafting lyrics. Whether he is posting his heart on his sleeve (“Audience Of One”), telling an amazing and heart-wrenching story (“Hero Of War”), or trying his best to rationalize the end of a relationship (“This Is Letting Go”), McIlrath’s lyrics are always gems. Beautifully stated, carefully constructed, and well thought out, most of the lyrics McIlrath writes have deep, multiple layers of messages contained within. On the surface they appear to be a simple love story, break-up story, etc. But digging deeper can reveal a political mindset, a war torn backdrop, or a diatribe on the current state of our union. And while it was the music of Rise Against that drew me into the band, it is the lyrics that kept me a fan. I could spend weeks dissecting the multiple messages contained within most Rise Against songs.
Additional band members Joe Principe (bass guitar), Brandon Barnes (drums), and Zach Blair (lead guitar) fit exceptionally well with McIlrath. Their music brings out the best in his vocals and the musical creativity is a perfect fit for the voice that leads the songs. The chords, changes, and leads are as artfully crafted as the lyrics. All four band members are insanely talented and their dedication to the art of making music shows on each of the bands releases. From their indie debut (The Unravelling) to their most recent release (Endgame) every Rise Against album is a beauty, filled with hard hitting, rocking songs that have depth and plenty of replay value.
If you are interesting in checking out a “new-to-you” band this year, I highly recommend Rise Against. Start with Appeal To Reason and then pick any of their albums after that. I can almost guarantee that you will eventually want to own their entire catalog. And if not, you will at least enjoy what you have heard from them and will be falling in love with a new band that may just enter your favorites list.
And if you know Rise Against, drop a line in the comments section and tell us what you think. Want to see more Bands We Don’t Cover Enough? Drop that in the comments as well!

As they gear up for the spring release of their much-anticipated new album, multi-platinum rock band ALICE IN CHAINS have announced a North American tour set to kick off April 25th at the Fillmore in Miami Beach (see itinerary below).
This past Thursday, the band teamed with VEVO to premiere the official companion clip for new track “Hollow.” Shot by award-winning director Roboshobo (Metallica, Mastodon, GreenDay), the hypnotically mind-trippy “Hollow” captures a man closed off and losing himself in an empty repetition of daily tasks until his last thread with reality is completely severed. The video can be seen at http://vevo.ly/U7WPDg and the song, which hit the top 10 on the iTunes Rock Chart, is available at http://t.co/HE12JnVT.
The video follows the recent release of a “Hollow” lyric clip that was created by fans and comprised of images submitted through Instagram.
Set for a spring 2013 release, Alice In Chains’ upcoming album was recorded in Los Angeles with producer Nick Raskulinecz (FooFighters, Deftones), who also produced the band’s hugely successful 2009 release BLACK GIVES WAY TO BLUE. That album entered Billboard‘s Top 200 at No. 5, sold over one million copies, spawned two No. 1 hit singles (“Check My Brain” and “Your Decision”) and a third (“Lesson Learned”) that went top 10, earned two Grammy nominations and saw the band (vocalist/guitarist Jerry Cantrell, vocalist/guitarist William DuVall, drummer Sean Kinney and bassist Mike Inez) headlining a sold-out international tour that wrapped at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
In a recent interview with Guitar World, Cantrell said, “In my opinion, that record stood up to anything else we’ve put out in our career. Hopefully, the new album will connect with people in the same way.”

Frontiers Records is proud to announce the signing of iconic Christian rockers Stryper to a multi-album deal. The first release due out will be a new re-recorded collection; SECOND COMING will hit streets on March 22nd in Europe and March 26th in North America.
The album features sixteen tracks, including new recordings of fourteen songs from the band’s early years as well as two brand new songs recorded especially for SECOND COMING, and is produced by Stryper frontman Michael Sweet.
Sweet commented, “We’re really excited about this record. The re-recorded songs are sounding awesome…better than the originals in many ways! One word to describe the record? Heavier. We’ve hooked up with some great people – we’ve got new management, a great album, a great label. We just feel like everything is coming together, and hopefully some big things are to follow.” Please see below for the complete track listing.
Stryper is one of the top Christian rock bands of all time. Comprised of the original line-up of Michael Sweet (vocals/guitar), Oz Fox (guitar), Tim Gaines (bass), and Robert Sweet (drums), Stryper has been rocking since 1984, and is responsible for such ’80s metal classic albums as SOLDIERS UNDER COMMAND, TO HELL WITH THE DEVIL, IN GOD WE TRUST and such MTV hit singles/videos as “Calling on You,” “Free,” and “Honestly.”
After a sabbatical for much of the 1990’s, Stryper returned strong in the early 21st century. To date, the band has sold upwards of 8 million records worldwide and is a Dove Award-winner and Grammy nominee. Stryper is the first band to have two songs in MTV’s Top 10 simultaneously.
SECOND COMING track listing: Loud N’ Clear; Loving You; Soldiers Under Command; Makes Me Wanna Sing; First Love; The Rock That Makes Me Roll; Reach Out; Surrender; To Hell With The Devil; Calling On You; Free; The Way; Sing Along Song; More Than A Man; Bleeding From Inside Out (New song); Blackened (New song)

TICHY ANNOUNCES DEPARTURE FROM WHITESNAKE TO FOCUS ON S.U.N.
New rock supergroup SOMETHING UNTO NOTHING (S.U.N.) featuring Juno Award winner SASS JORDAN, BRIAN TICHY, MICHAEL DEVIN and TOMMY STEWART will physically release their debut full-length self-titled album Tuesday, February 5 on Robo Records with distribution through Fontana/Universal Music. Initially the album was scheduled to be released Tuesday, January 15; however, S.U.N. guitarist TICHY was recently involved in a serious mountain bike accident which resulted in a broken collarbone, requiring him to undergo surgery on New Year’s Eve. This unforeseen injury has temporarily sidelined the band’s promotional plans for the record release and as recompense to their fans for the delay, S.U.N. has decided to sign a limited quantity of pre-sale CDs for fans that purchase the physical album beginning today at www.somethinguntonothing.com (while supplies last). This will be the only opportunity for fans to have the album before it’s officially out in stores. Also, as a unique and special keepsake for TICHY fans, included in these signed CD packages will be a signed copy of TICHY’s x-ray which shows the metal plate and nine screws required to put his clavicle back together. Several other bundles will also be available on the website for various price points including t-shirts, lyric sheets, drumsticks and more.
The album’s first single “I’m The One” hit the Top 50 at Classic Rock Radio as the official music video for the track was released. With footage from the band’s November 20 show at the Key Club in Los Angeles, celebrating the digital release of the album, the video showcases S.U.N.’s non-stop, high-octane live performance. Watch it now here: http://youtu.be/7NktMr8Sjqk.
All this news coincides with TICHY’s announcement of his departure from the iconic rock band Whitesnake. TICHY, a veteran musician who served as Whitesnake’s drummer for 2 ½ years and has also performed with Billy Idol, Foreigner, Ozzy and more, has decided to devote his full attention to S.U.N.
“When you start a band with an Interplanetary Mountain Goddess and you both agree it’s worth giving 100%, you don’t just up and leave,” explains TICHY of working with SASS and his decision to leave Whitesnake. “If I did, our efforts would have been a bit of a waste of time, and I might as well stick to being a drummer-for-hire.” TICHY goes on to say, “I owe David Coverdale a big ‘thank you’ for allowing me to be in his band, and be myself in his band. The man simply told me to play how I play and make his band and its music sound like a kick-ass rock ‘n’ roll freight train. He trusted me. I also owe David thanks for all the inspiration and for clearly letting me see that if you want something, you better at least TRY to get it.” A full statement has also been posted to www.briantichy.com.
Whitesnake frontman David Coverdale also released a statement regarding BRIAN’s departure: “We are truly sad to see him go, but, we fully support the pursuit of his ambitions & sincerely wish him well. His fearless drumming brought a relentless driving edge & to our music that we fully embraced. Good Luck, Brian…May the SUN shine brightly on you!!”
BRIAN and the rest of the band are looking forward to his speedy recovery and to getting back to what they love most…performing live. S.U.N.’s first show of 2013 will be on Saturday, January 19 at the Key Club. They have also confirmed a gig Saturday, February 9 at Vamp’d in Las Vegas alongside Frank Hannon of Tesla.
Additionally, the members of S.U.N. will also make several appearances at the annual NAMM music trade show January 24-27 in Anaheim, CA. On Thursday, January 24 at 7pm at The Observatory, S.U.N. and the world’s most accomplished drummers will come together for the Bonzo Bash NAMM Jamm. This event, as with the four previous Bonzo Bashes, is curated by TICHY himself and pays tribute to the legendary drummer John Bonham of Led Zeppelin. Those drummers confirmed to appear and perform their favorite Led Zeppelin songs include Steven Adler (Guns N Roses/Adler), James Kottak (Scorpions), Stephen Perkins (Jane’s Addiction), Mike Portnoy (Adrenaline Mob), Dave Lombardo (Slayer), TICHY, STEWART and many more. There will also be special guests on-hand to host the festivities including Eddie Trunk, Nicko McBrain (Iron Maiden) and Uncle Joe Benson (Los Angeles’ 95.5 KLOS). Tickets are on-sale now at http://www.observatoryoc.com/events/bonzo. TICHY will also take part in several signing appearances throughout the convention including at booths for Natal Drums, Regal Tips, Remo, Paiste Cymbals and more.
Positive reviews continue to pour in. Here’s what’s being said about S.U.N.’s debut self-titled album:
“…a slab of blues-based rock that might have been blasting from a Camaro’s 8-track in the summer of ’71…Sass Jordan wails like a congregant called forth to testify on the eve o judgment day. A vocalist in the Janis Joplin mold, the singer hits all the highs and lows…[Tichy] is not only an accomplished shredder; he drives the tracks with his unfussy, supportive playing…his killer guitar tone—a thick, dripping snarl—is the best thing about his playing in S.U.N….Something Unto Nothing dips deeply into the ‘70s canon, but in targeted, discrete ways…”
—DRUM, February 2013
“S.U.N.’s debut album is reminiscent of the classic big album sounds of the 1970s. It’s raw, real music from the days when records were played on a turntable and cranked up to 10.”
–James Wood, GUITARWORLD.COM, November 28, 2012
“Jordan’s gritty, intense vocal stylings are featured prominently on this album, with several short a capella sections on “Burned.” The tracks contain a fusion of blues and rock, which is a natural fit for Jordan’s voice and Tichy’s high energy guitar playing. Michael Devin’s bass playing is tight and in control, and adds to the intensity of Stewart’s drums.”
— Hilary Mahoney, SCREAMERMAGAZINE.COM, December 20, 2012
“The debut album from rock supergroup Something Unto Nothing is perhaps the first great rock record of 2013. The band have come together for a record that’s a solid, no-nonsense rock record.”
–Philip Sayblack, WNCT TV 9, December 24, 2012
“Something Unto Nothing is a record of soundscapes. It’s got delicious, boot-stomping sleaze. It’s got nods to the best of grunge and post-grunge. Over here is a valley of groove, with periodic stands of blues. Over there is a vista of Zeppelinesque drum walls and phrasing. The common thread is hard rock purity.”
—BOWILLIAMS.COM, December 16, 2012
“Las Vegas was treated to some full out, power blues, over-driven, rock ‘n roll on Saturday night, and it went by the name S.U.N. Seeing a band of this caliber in a intimate setting was truly awesome. Imagine a band with a very 70’s, bar room, vintage vibe that can jam with no pro tools, no auto tune, Just balls out, bad ass, Rock and Roll.”

Sam is a wonderful player, world-renowned amongst guitar virtuosos. Additionally, a new studio album, to be entitled ‘Valkyrie’, will be recorded for Frontiers Records during 2013 continuing the band’s relationship with the label.
John Wetton said, “ASIA is ready to take its next steps along this remarkable road. We cannot wait to perform again for the fans and also to unveil some of the new material, of which we are very proud”. Frontiers Records is pleased to announce the release of GREAT WHITE’s celebrative live album “30 Years – Live From the Sunset Strip” on February 22nd in Europe and February 26th in North America.
To mark its 30th Anniversary LIVE on March 22, 2012, GREAT WHITE celebrated the only logical way – on stage. In a nod to its early days, GREAT WHITE returned to the infamous Sunset Strip, where a storied past of music’s biggest fans are fused into the walls of the Key Club. GREAT WHITE delivered its entire repertoire to a packed house, pining for the band’s raw energy and cheering its illustrious history track after track.
The Southern California blues hard rock band debuted with a Don Dokken / Michael Wagener produced EP in 1983 and later on were signed by EMI for 1984’s self-titled debut album. Since then GREAT WHITE has achieved worldwide success, encompassing sales of over six million records. They received a Grammy nomination for Best Hard Rock Performance for the song “Once Bitten, Twice Shy” and earned a double platinum certification for the album “…Twice Shy”.
It’s the soulful, blues-based signature sound that turned songs like “Face The Day”, “Rock Me” and “Save Your Love” into international hits. The late 80’s were boom years for the band, marked by non-stop touring with some of the biggest bands of the era including stints in Europe and Japan. GREAT WHITE recorded two more albums for Capitol — “Hooked”, which was certified gold and “Psycho City”.
With a line up featuring Co- Founder Mark Kendall, Audie Desbrow, Michael Lardie Scott Snyder and new singer Terry Ilous (former XYZ), a natural frontman blessed with bluesy-heritage rock tone, Ilous fits the band like a glove. GREAT WHITE’s biting guitar riffs, contagious rhythm section and newfound energy is ready to honor its past and create the next chapter. 30th Anniversary Live is just one night – but the music is timeless.
“30 Years – Live From the Sunset Strip” track listing includes:
Desert Moon; Lady Red Light; Face The Day; House Of Broken Love; Save Your Love; Mista Bone; The Big Goodbye; Back To The Rhythm; Rock Me; Can’t Shake It; Once Bitten Twice Shy.
Terry Ilous – vocals
Mark Kendall – lead guitar
Michael Lardie – guitar, keyboards
Scott Snyder – bass
Audie Desbrow – drums

Armoury Records, in conjunction with Hamburg, Germany-based earMUSIC, will release the sixth studio album from American metallers CIRCLE II CIRCLE this Winter. Led by former Savatage vocalist Zak Stevens, the 12-track Seasons Will Fall promises to be the band’s strongest album to date both musically and sonically blending Stevens’ history and unique “Savatage style” with the fresh sounds he’s meticulously developed with CIIC — a commanding fusion of metal and hard rock, powered by his passionate melodic rock vocals. From the howling guitar riffs of “Diamond Blade” and “Killing Death” to the energetic sound of “Never Gonna Stop,” the album contains everything you want from a heavy rock album.
earMUSIC/Edel and Zak Stevens have enjoyed critical acclaim and commercial success together over the years with Savatage’s Dead Winter Dead (1995) and The Wake of Magellan (1997), true milestones of hard rock/heavy metal and some of the highest charting metal success stories of the ‘90s.
Comments Stevens of the new label home and forthcoming full-length: “With earMUSIC releasing our sixth album, we are exactly where we need to be at this point in our career. We have the right album along with a fantastic new label. The timing of all this will take the upcoming world tour to an entirely new level. We are very much looking forward to the release of Seasons Will Fall. This is an album that will strongly define the identity and place of hard rock and heavy metal music in the world today.”
Formed in 2001, CIRCLE II CIRCLE has released five albums to date consistently progressing into something more powerful with each offering without sacrificing the signature sound fans around the globe have grown to adore. The turning point for CIIC came in 2012 with their monumental performance of The Wake of Magellan in its entirety at Germany’s legendary Wacken Open Air Festival. What followed was a sold-out European club tour with full European jaunt set to follow in 2013.
Seasons Will Fall will be released in North America via Armoury Records on January 29, 2013.
CIRCLE II CIRCLE:
Zak Stevens – Vocals
Mitch Stewart – Bass/Vocals
Bill Hudson – Guitars/Vocals
Christian Wentz – Guitars/Vocals

Greetings to all of you! I hope you had a great New Year. Here is a condensed list of some of the events that are planned for the first half of this year.
2013 is going to be a very busy and intensely productive year ahead, it seems.
We will start off with a two-day Sky Academy in Los Angeles, at the Santa Monica Playhouse on January 21st and 22nd. This is a beautiful, intimate theatre, where we held one of the previous Sky Academies which we all have fond memories of. I’m looking forward to being there again!
The next day I will take part in Jason Becker’s “Not Dead Yet” concert in San Francisco, together with my friends Steve Morse, Richie Kotzen, Gus G, and several other great players. Jason is an inspiration to all of us and I feel honored to be part of this worth-while cause.
Following that, I shall be attending the Winter NAMM show in Anaheim, California and will do a signing event for the Sky Guitar Limited Edition at the DEAN booth.
At the end of January we are embarking on my extensive 40th Anniversary Tour of the US, which will take us all the way through February until the beginning of March. 2013 marks the 40th anniversary of my involvement with the SCORPIONS. The main theme of this tour will therefore be dedicated to performing my personal favorites from the five albums which I recorded with that great band.
I have chosen about 30 songs in all from that era as the basis of our repertoire, several of which have never even been performed live by either the Scorpions or myself. We will be rotating a selection of these songs on the tour, varying our sets on a nightly basis, because we cannot possibly play all of them in one go.
We will, of course, also play some ELECTRIC SUN and SKY OF AVALON music, but the main theme of the performance will be dedicated to the early SCORPIONS era.
Every show will be recorded for a live album, which will feature only songs from my time with the SCORPIONS. This will result in a double CD, which will be mixed in 5.1 surround. The release will also contain a DVD and a documentary, including personal behind-the-scenes Super-8 footage, which I shot to document our tours from 1973-1978.
As far as live albums go, I am intending to record 2 further ones in the following years:
One will be featuring my favorite ELECTRIC SUN material -and the next one will consist of SKY OF AVALON/ TRANSCENDENTAL SKY GUITAR music.
In order to do full justice to my selection of SCORPIONS songs we are bringing a large band with an exciting line-up. Due to the length of the tour, not all members were free to do the whole tour.
Therefore some of the positions will be filled by two musicians – each of them playing part of the tour.
The 40th Anniversary US-Tour line-up will be:
Uli Jon Roth, guitars, vocals
Henning Basse – lead vocals
Ali Clinton – guitars, vocals
Niklas Turmann – guitars, lead vocals
Ule W. Ritgen, Elliott Rubinson – bass
Jamie Little, Peter Holmes – drums
Paul Rahme, Corvin Bahn – keyboards, vocals
In addition to the concerts there are 14 introductory SKY ACADEMY SEMINARS to be held during the course of the tour! These are usually taking place at the venues of the shows, on the same days and prior to the concerts. Pre-booking is essential, though. The seminars are not only geared for musicians. Anyone who loves music can attend. Sky Academy is about much more than just guitar playing, but players are also very welcome to bring their guitars and practice amps. The teaching should be useful to players of all levels.
March, April and May will be dedicated to studio work and some shows in England.
I also have been invited to play at the Royal Albert Hall in London by Alfie Boe as a guest for his concerts in April. Aside from this, we are going to collaborate on a new release of “Bridge to Heaven” intended for the Sunflower Jam Cancer Charity.
In June we will play six concerts in South America, co-headlining with Michael Schenker. The dates will be posted very soon.
We are planning further European and UK dates for the second half of 2013 and a tour of Japan
I am also looking forward to my continued involvement in the Robert Johnson Award in Hamburg, Germany, which is a great platform for genuine young guitar talents. As a special appreciation of his talent, I have chosen one of last years’ participants, the 14-year old Merlin Lauert, to share the stage with us at our Wacken 2013 show.
And last, but not least: I have written an entire album’s worth of new material, which I am very excited about. As soon as time permits we will begin to record it.
Once again, many thanks to all of you and God bless!
Have a great 2013!
Uli Jon Roth

Multinational Melodic Metallers EDEN’S CURSE have released the first episode from their fourth album studio video diaries.
Featuring guitarist Thorsten Koehne, drummer Pete Newdeck and bassist Paul Logue, it focuses primarily on the song writing sessions and in particular a new track called “Evil & Divine”.
The new EDEN’S CURSE album, the much anticipated follow up to 2011’s highly acclaimed “Trinity” record, is scheduled for worldwide release via AFM Records towards the end of Summer 2013.
We are not sure what to make of the band A Life Divided. The band describes themselves as metal/gothic/electro. We wouldn’t call this hard rock, and it definitely is not metal, and yet, we like this song.
Check out the song “The Last Dance” and let us know what you think.
A Life Divided’s new album will be released January 18th.
MANDY LION is pleased to announce that LEZ WARNER (The Cult) will be collaborating with him on future song writing, recordings and live shows. Mandy Lion’s All-Star War Machine will also play on December 18th at the Brick By Brick in San Diego, CA.
Additional plans for MANDY LION are forthcoming.
Whitesnake regret to announce that powerhouse drummer, Brian Tichy, has told David Coverdale this morning he is leaving the band to pursue the SUN project he started with gifted singer/guitarist Sass Jordan. Bassist & singer, Michael Devin, also a participant in SUN, will remain with Whitesnake.

Whitesnake have begun the search for a new drummer. There are several musicians already being considered.
A spokesman for the band said that this will not affect the forthcoming tour dates for 2013.
Tichy recently broke his collarbone in a Mountain Biking accident and is currently on the mend.
