Heaven & Earth have just released their official video for the single “No Money, No Love”. The video features performance footage of the band, along with an old Hotel packed with a motley crew of midgets, magicians, and scantily clad temptresses. The video was directed by acclaimed photographer Glen Wexler, who has worked with Van Halen, Black Sabbath, and Michael Jackson.
“No Money, No Love” is featured on the band’s forthcoming studio album ‘Dig’, which is available April 23rd on Quarto Valley Records. The album was produced by Dave Jenkins, who’s worked with everyone from Metallica to Tower of Power – and features special guests Howard Leese (Heart, Paul Rodgers), Richie Sambora (Bon Jovi), and David Paich (Toto).
The band’s founder and visionary, Stuart Smith, had this to say about Dig, “I feel that with the crafting of the songs on this album, the incredible band we’ve put together, especially with powerhouse vocalist Joe Retta and the unwavering support of Quarto Valley Records’ President, Bruce Quarto, we really have a shot at getting Heaven & Earth the attention it deserves. This album is by far, the best thing I have ever done in my life.” “All the pieces are in place,” he explains with graceful candor. “We’re ready to make this our year.”
The track listing for ‘Dig’ is as follows:

Female-Fronted International Rock Sensation LOUNA to Release New
Album “Behind A Mask” on April 30, 2013 via Red Decade Records and
Winners of the 2009 “Best New Artist of the Year” Russian Alternative Music Prize
(RAMP), 2011 “Rock Song of the Year” Nashe Award and the 2012 “Female Vocalist of
the Year” Nashe Award
Featured in Upcoming MTV USA Documentary “Rebel Music”
No other rock group from Russia has exploded onto the music scene quite as rapidly as LOUNA. The band, winners of the 2009 “Best New Artist of the Year” Russian Alternative Music Prize (RAMP) and the 2012 “Female Vocalist of the Year” Nashe Award (announced last night!), are poised to take over the American hard-rock scene with their new album, Behind A Mask, in-stores and available online April 30, 2013 via Red Decade Records and MEG/RED.
Behind A Mask will open the eyes and ears of the American rock music scene by showcasing the pure blistering talent of LOUNA and the soaring vocals of the band’s lead singer Lousine “Lou” Gevorkian (in a world that has become immersed in autotune and over-production, Behind A Mask boasts true musical talent with only 10-15 seconds of vocal correction on the entire 45-minute record). Behind A Mask features 10 of the band’s best songs from their first two albums and have been painstakingly adapted into English by American producer and lyricist Travis Leake (the SLoT). The album was mixed by renowned producer/engineer Dan Korneff (Breaking Benjamin, The Pretty Reckless, Papa Roach, My Chemical Romance, Paramore) and mastering duties were handled by the legendary Ted Jensen of Sterling Sound, New York.
On March 26th, Behind A Mask will be made available for pre-order and the tracks ‘Mama’ and ‘Business’ will be released as singles. This will be the first time that ‘Business’ is released as a single anywhere. Stay tuned for a pre-order link coming soon. The accompanying music video for the first single, “Business, is one of the most expensive and elaborate productions in Russian music history according to the film company, InnerVision.
LOUNA’s reputation extends beyond their musicality to include the focus of their personal passions as found in their lyrics and actions. They are the most commercially successful rock band of the modern protest movement (of which Pussy Riot has become the most internationally renowned). They donated their song “The Time of X” to the White Album project raising funds for Pussy Riot’s support and defense. MTV USA came to Moscow in October of 2012 and featured LOUNA in an upcoming documentary about protest music around the world called “Rebel Music”, which should air in the fall of 2013 on MTVU nationwide.
Formed in 2008 by Tracktor Bowling lead singer Lousine Gevorkian and bassist Vitaly Demidenko, the idea behind LOUNA was to pursue wider musical ideas that didn’t fit in with their original band. They recruited guitarists Rouben Kazariyan and Sergey Ponkratiev, and drummer Leonid “Pilot”
Kinzbursky. After the release of their first EP which lyrically focused on the many modern social problems that exist, they were quickly named the aforementioned 2009 Best New Artist of the Year at the annual Russian Alternative Music Prize (RAMP) awards.
They released their first album, “Let’s Get Louder” in December of 2010, selling out every venue during their first national tour of Russia supporting the album. Two singles, “Fight Club” and “Let’s Get Louder” reached #1 on the Russian radio charts, with “Fight Club” remaining in the top 10 for a record-breaking 16 weeks and also being named the 2011 Rock Song of the Year at the annual Nashe Awards. Along with this, LOUNA was nominated for Breakthrough Artist and Solo Performance of the year. Their second album, “The Time of X,” released in February of 2012 has already produced a #1 single, “Mama,” and their most recent single “People Looking Up” entered the Russian charts in the top 10.
LOUNA has performed on the main stage at every major festival throughout Russia. Earlier in 2012, they were invited to perform as one of the main headliners at the 50th birthday concert festival honoring Russian rock legend Victor Tsoi of the band Kino, playing to audiences of over 15,000 people in both Moscow and St. Petersburg.

From Iron Maiden.com:
We are deeply saddened to report that Clive Burr passed away last night. He had suffered poor health for many years after being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and died peacefully in his sleep at home.
Steve Harris said “This is terribly sad news. Clive was a very old friend of all of us. He was a wonderful person and an amazing drummer who made a valuable contribution to Maiden in the early days when we were starting out. This is a sad day for everyone in the band and those around him and our thoughts and condolences are with his partner Mimi and family at this time.”
Bruce Dickinson adds “I first met Clive when he was leaving Samson and joining Iron Maiden. He was a great guy and a man who really lived his life to the full. Even during the darkest days of his M.S., Clive never lost his sense of humour or irreverence. This is a terribly sad day and all our thoughts are with Mimi and the family”
As Maiden fans all know, Clive joined Maiden in 1979 and performed on the first three albums Iron Maiden (1980), Killers (1981) and The Number Of The Beast (1982). Prior to that he was a member of Samson, the band Bruce fronted before he too joined Maiden.

Finland is mostly known for it’s heavy metal bands, right? Well, soon enough Finland will be known for it’s hard rock bands too. Somebody
could call it the New Wave Of Finnish Hard Rock. One of the bands on that wave is The Ragged Saints, formed in late 2011 in Helsinki,
The band was born after Whitesnake concert when guitarist Tomi Julkunen (The Milestones) and Toni Bite (Million Dollar Beggars)
realized they both loved 80’s hard rock bands. With spare time in their hands they decided to write and record couple of songs just for
fun. One song turned into two, two into three and soon enough they had albums worth of brand new hard rock songs in their hands. That lead to
decision to form a real band, not just a side project.
Luckily enough it took only couple of phone calls and the band had bass player Jukka Hoffrén (Adamantra) and drummer Miikki Kunttu (V For
Violence) in their ranks. Singer Markku Kuikka (Status Minor) was the last member to join the band in the fall of 2012.
The songs below are from their first album due for release later in 2013. The band is currently in the studio putting finishing
touches on the record and will play their first live show in April this spring.

The Ragged Saints line up:
Markku Kuikka – Vocals
Tomi Julkunen – Guitars
Toni Bite – Guitars
Jukka Hoffrén – Bass
Miikki Kunttu – Drums
Bon Jovi has just released their 12th Album, What About Now. Those of you looking for another Slippery When Wet or New Jersey, you will have to keep looking, this album isn’t it. I can’t even call this a hard rock album, it simply is not. What About Now is more of a mainstream pop rock album.
Jon Bon Jovi’s voice is in fine form, and he sounds great, but the music is too poppy to hold my interest for very long. Bon Jovi has always been a band that has spread its wings and tried it’s hand at different musical styles. While as a hard rock album, this may be an epic fail, as a pop rock album, it isn’t too bad. The music just isn’t what I want to hear on a Bon Jovi album. I long for the hard rock style that made Bon Jovi famous. I guess the millions of dollars the band is making touring has allowed them to become a genre defying act. Good for them, bad for the hard rock fans out there.
What About Now might not be the epic disaster that the countrified clay pigeon Lost Highway was, but it still won’t hold much appeal to the hard rock fans out there. The big stadium anthems and heavy riffs of their earlier music can’t be found on the new album. That is the style of Bon Jovi music I enjoy, and for that reason I just can’t get into listening to this.
What About Now leaves me with this final thought, “What About The Rock”!? It is still okay to rock Jon! Your new album does not.
This is perhaps a shallow perspective on What About Now, but this hard rock fan probably won’t give this CD any more plays beyond today.
If you have an open mind, and are a fan of pop/rock or possibly even Christian rock, by all means, give What About Now a shot. If your taste in music leans towards the harder style of rock or heavy metal music, you will probably want to avoid this album. Tread at your own risk!
