BAND SET TO RETURN TO NORTH AMERICA FOR
TOUR DATES ON THE HEELS OF EUROPEAN AND CANADIAN TOUR IN SUPPORT OF THEIR ACCLAIMED ALBUM
‘HEAD DOWN’

FIRST SINGLE “KEEP ON SWINGING” WAS #1
IN CANADA FOR 6 STRAIGHT WEEKS

They have taken their roots and made it their own, and in today’s f..ked up mess they call the music business, every now and then a band comes along to prove when done right, there ain’t nothing like a great-riffing, keep-it-simple, rocking blues band that swings from the hip, restoring my faith in all the things I believe to be the makings of A GREAT ROCK & ROLL BAND…with the emphasis on ROLL.  A band can’t rock if it don’t know how to roll–and these guys definitely know how to roll.”
—
Jerry Shirley, founding member and drummer of Humble Pie (2013)

Maximum-blues-infused, hard rock band RIVAL SONS will perform two songs acoustically Wednesday, May 15 at 7:00 PM PT live on AXS-TV: singer JAY BUCHANAN and guitarist SCOTT HOLIDAY will do “Keep On Swinging”–the first single from their acclaimed current album HEAD DOWN–as well as “Burn Down Los Angeles” from their 2011 album Pressure and Time.  The video for “Keep On Swinging” can be seen here: www.vevo.com/watch/rival-sons/keep-on-swinging/GBA631200133.

RIVAL SONS—Jay Buchanan (vocals), Scott Holiday (guitar), Robin Everhart (bass) and Michael Miley (drums)–just wrapped up their headlining tour with shows in Canada, Europe and the U.K. Next, the group will tour the U.S., beginning May 29 in Grand Rapids, MI (itinerary below), to support of their third album HEAD DOWN, which was released March 19 on Century Media Records. It features “Keep On Swinging,” which hit #1 on the Active Rock Radio Charts in Canada and remained at the top for six straight weeks.

The band is anxious to be back in States, says drummer Michael Miley, “Finally!  Back in the USA! We’ve been steeped in Europe and UK love for two solid years.  We’re so ready to play the home court. Live, raw, and truthful.  We’re thankful to the US radio stepping up and taking a risk on us.  See you soon!”

Reaching #1 on the Rock chart in 2012 in the U.K., HEAD DOWN has garnered the group four-star reviews (including Mojo and the Guardian) overseas as well as magazine covers and the “Breakthrough Artist” award at the 2012 Classic Rock Awards show in London. The RIVAL SONS made their major national television debut when they performed “Keep On Swinging” on ABC-TV’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live!,” in March. Here are the links:

About RIVAL SONS:

RIVAL SONS are a raucous, maximum-blues-infused, hard rock band which explodes with the rhythm and roughness of some of the greatest rock acts of all time. From a self-released full-length album Before the Fire and EP (self-titled), to the strength of their live performances, the band gain major attention everywhere they play. Early accolades included a stint opening up for legends like AC/DC and Alice Cooper, several USO shows with Kid Rock, and a televised performance in the pit at The Indianapolis 500. The Huffington Post even dubbed RIVAL SONS as “one of the top 5 bands to watch” during 2010’s CMJ Music Marathon in New York City. RIVAL SONS’ full-length Earache debut, Pressure & Time, was recorded in Los Angeles and released worldwide in May 2011. The record quickly charted in the UK, Germany, Sweden, Norway, Switzerland and beyond. And by the time RIVAL SONS embarked on their first full length headline tour of Europe in November 2011 they’d sold out every UK show, as well as gigs across the continent. The album was voted No.2 Album of the Year by Classic Rock Magazine. In 2012, they released Head Down, achieving greater success and acclaim.
