Pop Evil 2013

It’s not often a Independent band gets the distinction to be on the top of the charts, but Michigan powerhouse POP EVIL has done it, landing their first career #1 Active Rock single with the highly successful single “Trenches.”

The band is humbled by the reaction to their new album and are ecstatic to be in the top spot at Active Rock.  Achieving this while signed to an independent label makes it even more of a major milestone for the band.

To celebrate, POP EVIL is offering the single for $0.69 on iTunes here starting tomorrow, July 2nd. Vocalist Leigh Kakaty weighs in on the good news:

“‘Trenches’ was written about the constant grind to survive in the music business. Earning our first #1 means more than you could imagine! Thanks to our supporters and believers at rock radio, management and record label. Most of all we Thank the Pop Evil  die hard fans for making this happen!“

POP EVIL released “Onyx,” their third studio LP earlier this year.  Accolades continue to pile up as the band releases their most comprehensive material to date.

“Onyx” debuted at #39 on the Billboard Top 200 and #9 on the Independent Chart.

With over 10,000 copies sold in the first week of release, this makes “Onyx” the most successful first week in the band’s history.

This milestone is the latest in the band’s hard working radio career. POP EVIL has landed a total of 4 Top 10 Active Rock singles and 3 Top 5 Rock Singles on their last album, “War Of Angels.”
