0 Monster Truck – Extensive Touring With Buckchery And Then Alter Bridge Announced

  • January 9, 2014
  • by Rob Rockitt
  • · Concert Dates · Entertainment · Hard Rock Music · Hard Rock News · Music

MonsterTruck

Monster Truck is confirmed to appear as direct support for Alter Bridge on a USA coast-to-coast run.  The 12-date tour will begin on April 14 in Dallas, TX and end on a to be announced date in May.  The initial announced appearances on the itinerary are cited below.

Monster Truck was fortunate to appear as support for Slash when they first set their sights on the U.S. market.  The guitarist shared, “Monster Truck is one of the few really down to earth rock n roll bands I’ve heard in the last couple of years.  Hard, soulful & heavy.”  Singer Myles Kennedy, who enjoys a prolific career as front man in Slash’s ensemble as well as being the vocalist of Alter Bridge, took an interest in Monster Truck.  That relationship, and outspoken support, was the primary driver in delivering this run with two bands sharing the stage.  Monster Truck guitarist Jeremy Wildman offers, “We are extremely excited to tour with one of the top rock acts in America and even happier to rejoin the road with our good friend Myles. See ya soon!”  Vocalist and Bassist Jon Harvey adds,   “Looking forward to watching many stellar shows by the Alter Bridge boys. Watch out America! A real rock ‘n roll tour is on the way!”

Monster Truck and Dine Alone Records have selected “The Lion” as the follow-up single to their debut hit “Sweet Mountain River” from the album, FURIOSITY. The lyric video premiered on GuitarWorld.com and can be viewed here: https://www.guitarworld.com/exclusive-monster-truck-premiere-lyric-video-lion.  “Sweet Mountain River” received support, in the US, from rock stations across the country.  In Canada, the song achieved the milestone of becoming #1 at the Active Rock, and Mainstream Rock, for eight consecutive weeks.  The follow-up track, “The Lion” stood at the top of the Canadian rock charts for six weeks, with an impact date planned for U.S. radio in early 2014.

Monster Truck took home the 2013 Juno Award for Breakthrough Group of The Year, toured their home country of Canada with Alice In Chains, and established themselves as a major headlining attraction.  In the U.S., the band has been very active, appearing with Kid Rock, Slash, Guns ‘n Roses, Sevendust, and others, performing for hundreds of thousands of rock fans over the course of this year.  Overseas, the band appeared on a 29-date run of Europe supporting Vista Chino (formerly Kyuss).  In March, 2014, Monster Truck return to Europe as headliners of the “Lords of the Riff, Volume 1” tour in association with Classic Rock and Metal Hammer Magazines.

The band has been filmed extensively as they travel the globe, and recently premiered a short-form documentary capturing their essence.  It can be streamed here: https://youtu.be/IYLkY4mxcdk

Hailing from Ontario, Canada, Monster Truck was formed in 2009 by Jon Harvey (bass, lead vocals), Jeremy Widerman (guitar, vocals), Brandon Bliss (organ, vocals) and Steve Kiely (drums, vocals). What began as a side-project to their other more ‘serious’ bands quickly gained momentum and took on a life of its own.  The band has released 2 EPs since their inception; a self-titled, and notably self-released EP produced by Gus Van Go & Werner F (The Stills, Priestess, Hollerado) and The Brown EP (also produced by Ratz) on Dine Alone Records.

Produced by Eric Ratz (Three Days Grace) at Vespa Studios in Toronto and Echo Mountain Studios in Asheville, NC, FURIOSITY showcases Monster Truck’s ability to seamlessly integrate influences from grunge and punk era greats that they love so dearly with alt-sounding vintage rock. The resulting album remains anchored in grooves, yet propulsive and volcanic, fueled by front man Jon Harvey’s colossal and impressive vocal delivery.  The Huffington Post exclaimed, “…no-frills classic rock and roll — huge Les Paul guitar riffs, spacey organ fills, thunderous drums, bottom-heavy bass, and one powerful vocalist. The spirit of Stillwater and Grand Funk Railroad lives! I predict these lads will be playing much larger venues very soon.”

0 ACCEPT ANNOUNCE FIRST LEG OF NORTH AMERICAN TOUR

  • August 13, 2010

After debuting their new line up to a sold-out audience in New York this past May and then traveling to Europe to devastate the masses with shows in 16 different countries in 80 days (including two shows opening for AC/DC), Germany’s legendary metal band ACCEPT will return to tour the U.S. for the first time in 14 years on a co-headlining tour with King’s X.  Their first show will kick-off the eleventh annual ProgPower USA festival in Atlanta.

Guitarist & songwriter Wolf Hoffman checks in about the band’s time in Germany & their upcoming North American trek:

“Believe me, this was boot camp, but we loved every minute of it!  Twelve months ago, there was nothing on the horizon that would have made us believe we would be on the stages of the world again as ACCEPT… and here we are!   [New lead vocalist] Mark Tornillo inspires us to get it all out in a way we have not been challenged before.  We can’t wait to be on stage with him!!!!   He is the new kid on the block and he is the reason we are back again.  It is such a relief, such vitamin shot!!!  And if we could, we would never stop!!!”….

When asked what has surprised the band the most about their fans, Hoffman responds enthusiastically:

“NO DOUBT ABOUT IT – the biggest surprise is the way they make us feel welcomed.  Of course we hoped the fans would be happy to have us back – who would not believe that about their fans? –  but, what is happening here, EVERYWHERE we go, is a TOTAL KNOCK-OUT for us.  WE HAVE NOT SEEN FANS SO HAPPY IN A LONG, LONG TIME.”

4 STYX SET TO LAUNCH “THE GRAND ILLUSION/PIECES OF EIGHT” TOUR THIS FALL, PERFORMING BOTH ALBUMS IN THEIR ENTIRETY

  • · Concert Dates · Entertainment · Hard Rock Music · Hard Rock News · Music
SEVEN-SONG EP OF RE-RECORDED CLASSICS AND
ONE BRAND NEW TRACK FOR SALE AT EVERY SHOW
It’s the tour STYX fans have been waiting for.
STYX–Tommy Shaw (vocals, guitars), James “JY” Young (vocals, guitars), Lawrence Gowan (vocals, keyboards), Todd Sucherman (drums) and Ricky Phillips (bass), along with the occasional surprise appearance by original bassist Chuck Panozzo—are getting ready to head out on the U.S. concert trail again this year.  However, for this round of dates, the band has an extra-special treat planned – it won’t be a typical STYX show.  Along with the classic hits, the band will be performing 1977’s THE GRAND ILLUSION and 1978’s PIECES OF EIGHT in their entirety.  Both albums spawned such hit singles and Classic Rock radio standards as “Come Sail Away,” “Renegade,” “Blue Collar Man” and “Fooling Yourself (The Angry Young Man).”
And as icing on the cake, a seven-song EP, entitled REGENERATION, VOLUME 1, containing six newly re-recorded classics–“Come Sail Away,” “Crystal Ball,” “Fooling Yourself (The Angry Young Man),” “Lorelei,” “The Grand Illusion” and “Sing For The Day”—and a brand new track, “Difference In The World,” will be available for sale at every stop along “The Grand Illusion/Pieces Of Eight” October/November tour route.
“This is the most unique STYX concert ever,” says singer/guitarist Tommy Shaw.  “It’s a hybrid experience of enjoying the artistry of the vinyl album and the energy and of our live performance.  Some songs have never been performed live!”
Spawned from a suburban Chicago basement in the early ‘70s, STYX would eventually transform into the virtual arena rock prototype by the late ’70s and early ’80s, due to a fondness for big rockers and soaring power ballads.  Over the course of their 38-year career they’ve released 15 studio albums, 6 best-of compilations and 4 live albums, garnering 8 Top Ten singles. STYX has sold over 30 million albums worldwide.
On the touring front, STYX has performed more shows since ’99 than all of the previous years of its career combined.  Two Super-Bowl appearances, Pollstar box office chart-topping tours with Def Leppard, Journey, Boston, REO Speedwagon, Bad Company, Foreigner (to name a few), two more studio albums and no end in sight, STYX continues to conquer the planet, one venue at a time.

DANZIG HITS THE ROAD

Special Nine City Tour to Usher in the Release of Deth Red Sabaoth

Glenn Danzig, at the forefront of the hardcore/dark metal movement for nearly three decades, announces a special nine-city concert trek that will kick off in Norfolk, VA on June 15.  The dates, played to usher in the release of Deth Red Sabaoth (evilive/The End Records), Danzig‘s first new studio album in six years, will feature long-time Danzig cohort, guitarist Tommy Victor (Prong, Ministry), drummer Johnny Kelly (Type O Negative) and former Samhaim bandmate, bassist Steve Zing.  Support for the east coast dates will be Gorgeous Frankenstein, the band of original Misfits member Doyle, and Seventh Void, the band that includes of Danzig/Type O Negative drummer Johnny Kelly and Type O guitarist Kenny Hickey.

A special internet pre-sale has now launched at https://www.ticketmaster.com and is ongoing through Thursday, May 13.  During this internet pre-sale, fans who purchase a ticket can also purchase a special, limited edition Danzig 7″ vinyl single with two brand new songs – “On a Wicked Night,” the first single from the new album, and “The Revengeful.”  See the itinerary below for on-sale info and where to purchase tickets.

Danzig plans to dig deep into his career-defining catalogue and perform tracks from Danzig, Lucifuge, How the Gods Kill, and on up to the present, including several new songs from Deth Red Sabaoth.  “Danzig fans have their own favorites from throughout the years,” said Glenn, “and I hope the set list we put together will satisfy everyone.”

Deth Red Sabaoth, which marks Danzig‘s ninth studio venture that began back in 1988 with the Rick Rubin-produced, Platinum-certified Danzig, is an 11-track collection penned by Danzig, and is laced with Glenn’s lycanthropic growls and blues-infected wailing.  Tracks including “Black Candy, “The Revengeful,” and “On A Wicked Night,” emit a spectral glow to rival the highest points in Danzig‘s colossal discography.  Part I of the exquisite two-part “Pyre of Souls” opens with acoustic guitar, haunting piano, Glenn’s plainsong vocal, and an almost dirge-like feel; Part II explodes with electric guitars and a driving, mesmerizing cadence.

In addition to the upcoming Deth Red Sabaoth, Danzig has just published a book of select, previously unreleased Misfits, Danzig, and Samhaim lyrics, titled “Hidden Lyrics of the Left Hand” (Verotik).  The book features illustrations by Simon Bisley, who has painted numerous album covers for Danzig and collaborated on many Verotik comic titles.

Glenn Danzig has received many titles, from the Godfather of Dark Metal to a punk pioneer to a man of integrity, but most agree that over his near-30-year career, his intense musical and lyrical statements have left a permanent mark on rock music.  He is a gifted songwriter, and his songs have been covered by such diverse artists as Johnny Cash, Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, and Roy Orbison, just to name a few.  His “13,” originally written for Johny Cash and then recorded for Glenn’s own Satan’s Child, was the opening song in last year’s box office smash and Golden Globe winner, The Hangover.  Danzig‘s music is dark, gothic, and haunting, and continues to influence generation after generation of musicians and music fans across the globe.

0 PEARL ADAY ANNOUNCES FIRST HEADLINE TOUR Debut Album ‘Little Immaculate White Fox’ Out Now

  • March 16, 2010
  • by Rob Rockitt
  • · Concert Dates · Entertainment · Hard Rock Music · Hard Rock News · Music

Pearl Aday has just announced her first headline tour, kicking off   Saturday April 17th in Las Vegas.  For fans that have never seen Pearl live, get ready for some straight up, kick ass, pure and true rock n’ roll. Pearl says, “ I just let the music take me wherever feels right. I’ve fallen down, peed my pants…I don’t care. As long as I can connect with the audience, I’ve done what I came to do. I’ll break myself open to get there. I have a lot to tell, and a hell of a lot to give.”

Her debut album, Little Immaculate White Fox is an epic blend of hard rock, blues and soul, connected by Pearl’s distinct and empowering vocals. Produced by Joe Barresi (QOTSA, Tool, Jane’s Addiction) the album features Anthrax guitarist (and fiancée of Pearl) Scott Ian, Jerry Cantrell, Ted Nugent and Mother Superior – the touring band for Daniel Lanois and Henry Rollins.
As the daughter of rock legend Meat Loaf, Pearl lived and breathed rock n’ roll since the day she was born.   Music was everywhere – whether it was in a recording studio (where she could be found napping in a guitar case) or a place where her dad was performing in front of thousands of people, Pearl lived it.  Her foray into the music biz began singing back up on tour for Meat Loaf and Motley Crue. You can also hear her unmistakable pipes on Ace Frehley’s ‘Genghis Khan.’

The songs on Pearl’s debut album are as original as they are familiar. Drawing inspiration from classic, hard and southern rock, along with soulful elements of R&B, Little Immaculate White Fox is a spirited collection of passion, pain and love -100% pure and infectious.

If you saw Pearl’s recent performance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, you may have got a glimpse of what she can do. Better yet, go see her live. As Pearl promises, “Every live show is an adventure.”

“LIKE A STORM” CONTINUES HEATING UP THE WINTER  BY ANNOUNCING NEW TOUR DATES WITH SHINEDOWN, PUDDLE OF MUDD, & SKILLET

After making their presence felt across North America by debuting at number 61 on Billboard’s New Artists Chart from tour sales alone of their head-turning debut album, “The End Of The Beginning”, New Zealand natives LIKE A STORM are gearing up for even more in 2010.

The Veer Union tour wraps up just before Christmas on December 23rd in Spokane, WA.

Like A Storm’s adrenaline-packed music can also be heard on television, where their song “Enemy” is accompanying ESPN’s College GameDay football montage. Another featured track, “Lie To Me”, is serving as the theme song for TNA Wrestling’s Pay-Per-View show “Genesis, which airs January 17th, 2010.

Selling over fifteen million albums worldwide, Zombie is one of Geffen Record’s top selling and the longest running artists on the label. He has written and directed five feature length films, directed dozens of high profile music videos, contributed recordings to multiple soundtracks, and authored several comic books.  HALLOWEEN 2 (2009) took hold of the box office recently, following-up his record breaking blockbuster re-imagining of HALLOWEEN in 2007. In 2005, Zombie assaulted the film world with the critically-acclaimed THE DEVIL’S REJECTS (Lionsgate), the follow-up to his already cult classic HOUSE OF 1,000 CORPSES (Lionsgate 2004).
