DEF LEPPARD will be the featured musical guests on ABC-TV’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” on the Friday, June 15 episode (which will actually air the morning of June 16 beginning at 12:05 a.m.).
This summer’s DEF LEPPARD tour is causing the band to make some schedule adjustments. They started writing material for a new album while on the road last summer, and guitarist Phil Collen told Launch they have to put that project aside for a bit, in order to get ready for the tour. “We’re actually recording, we’re actually doing a new album in Dublin, so we’re gonna have to take a break from the, the record — it’s a bit weird, ’cause our producer is also our out-front live (sound) guy — so we pack up, fly out to L.A. initially, rehearse there, and then kick off in Ohio,” he said.
DEF LEPPARD is going out this year with STYX and FOREIGNER. The tour starts June 27 in Cincinnati.
The working title for the album is “Sparkle Lounge”, but that could change.

New Great White disc coming in August
Since reuniting in January 2007 to perform at a benefit concert, the original lineup of Southern California’s GREAT WHITE has moved forward and hit the studio for its first album in eight years. “It’s just like old times,” states lead singer Jack Russell. “There’s a bond that forms between people that is very special. I’ve missed my friends.”
To commemorate GREAT WHITE‘s 25th anniversary, original members Russell, Mark Kendall (lead guitar), Audie Desbrow (drums), Michael Lardie (guitar, keyboards) and Sean McNabb (bass) have been in studio the last few months writing and recording. The group’s new CD, “Back to the Rhythm”, is being mixed, produced, and engineered by Michael Lardie with all members contributing to to the final mix.
“The new songs sound fresh to me — very GREAT WHITE, but with an approach of what we sound like in a live performance situation,” explains Lardie. “Kendall and I are having fun channeling our STONES roots and playing off each other in the Richards/Woods tradition.”
With it being the band’s anniversary year, GREAT WHITE is once again ready to rock all summer long. The band will hit the road for summer shows nationwide to support “Back to the Rhythm” (Shrapnel Records).
The Southern California blues-rock band first took a bite out of the rock scene in 1984 and has since achieved worldwide success, amassing sales of over six million records. They received a Grammy Award nomination for “Best Hard Rock Performance” for the song “Once Bitten, Twice Shy” and earned a double-platinum certification for the album “…Twice Shy”.
The late ’80s were boom years for the band, marked by non-stop touring with some of the biggest bands of the era and playing also in Europe and Japan. GREAT WHITE recorded two more albums for Capitol — “Hooked”, which was certified gold, and “Psycho City”.
Although Capitol issued a “best-of” compilation in 1993, GREAT WHITE had already left the label to begin work on its next studio release, “Sail Away”, released on Zoo Records in 1994. “Let It Rock” followed in 1996.
GREAT WHITE then signed with Portrait Records, an imprint founded by A&R guru John Kalodner that featured fellow hard rock acts such as RATT. “Can’t Get There from Here” was released in 1999 and is the band’s last studio opus thus far.
Shrapnel Records plans to release the newest album at the end of August 2007.

Sharon Osbourne vs. Gene Simmons?
Entertainmentwise.com reports that more foul-mouthed words have come out of the mouth of Sharon Osbourne, and this time Gene Simmons is the one on the receiving end.
Speaking to Blender magazine, Sharon sums up her feelings towards the KISS bassist: “[Simmons] said that our kids are on drugs and that his aren’t messed up like that. He’ll always be C-list, and his wife’s snatch has been rubbed on every pole in L.A. I’ll fucking tear his head off and stick it up his wife’s cunt!”
Gene‘s reality-TV program “Gene Simmons Family Jewels” has been described as an “Osbournes”-style reality show about the Simmons family, with camera crews tracking their every move as they perform both remarkable and mundane everyday tasks.
When asked in a 2004 interview what he thought about the trend of celebrities sharing their lives through reality TV, Gene said, “It was bound to happen, and every show is only as good as the celebrity that’s involved. Ozzy‘s is still magnificent, because Ozzy‘s not a faker, Ozzy is what he is. Everybody sees it as a comedy, but I see it as very sad. I’ve known Ozzy for twenty-five or thirty years. The one thing nobody ever says at the beginning of a show is, ‘Please don’t use drugs, otherwise you’ll end up like me.’ Because all the shaking and the stuttering and all that — Ozzy‘s come clean on that — it’s because he’s done that to himself. And it’s sad, because when the cameras go away, the same person is a real human being, it’s not just a TV show. And yet, every day of the week, there are new fifteen-year-old kids saying, ‘Let’s get in the car and get high.’ And I’m thinking, ‘Another idiot is born.'”
Rock of Love with Bret Michaels
“Extra” profiled POISON singer Bret Michaels, who is one of the men being offered on the show’s “Eligible Bachelor” contest. Watch a clip, where Bret talks about what he looks for in a woman, here.
As previously reported, Michaels will be looking for love in a new VH1 series from the producers of the network’s hit “Flavor of Love”.
According to Reuters, the cable network is set to debut a 10-episode reality series titled “Rock of Love with Bret Michaels” in July. The show will feature Michaels looking for a woman who can keep up with his rock ‘n’ roll lifestyle and not become jealous of his one true passion — performing — which is said to be the reason for and destruction of most of his relationships.
The women, who will live with Michaels in his “Los Angeles rock palace,” will be put through various challenges in a test of their devotion to him as well as their understanding of everything rock ‘n’ roll. Those who win these challenges will join Michaels on “wild and exclusive excursions,” while “those who can’t hang like true backstage VIPs will be escorted out in bona fide rock star fashion,” VH1 said.
Ozzy Osbourne was on the Jimmy Kimmel show last night. He was a guest and performed a couple of songs (I Don’t Wanna Stop, Bark at the Moon) at the end of the show. Ozzy looks to be in very good health and was very upbeat.
Kimmel asked Ozzy about why he decided to make Ozzfest free this year, and he said, “Ask my wife, she is f**king nuts”!
Poison, Police play 80s Guitar Hero Encore
“Synchronicity II” and “Nothing But a Good Time” to be feature on slightly retitled PS2 rhythm game; Billy Squier, Eddie Money, Faster Pussycat, Skid Row, and Extreme also on board.
Just under two weeks ago, Activision officially confirmed that it was prepping a special 1980s-themed Guitar Hero title. Titled Guitar Hero: Rocks the 80s, the game is the last in the series to be developed by now-MTV-owned Harmonix, and will ship for the PlayStation 2 this summer. The publisher also announced four songs that would be covered in the game: “Round and Round” by Ratt, “I Want Candy” by Bow Wow Wow, “Metal Health” by Quiet Riot, “Holy Diver” by Ronnie James Dio, and “Heat of the Moment” by Asia. In addition, Guitar Hero: Rocks the 80s will feature two original tracks: Flock of Seagulls’ “I Ran” and “I Wanna Rock” by Twisted Sister.
Today, Activision revealed seven more covers that would be featured in the game: Skid Row’s “18 and Life,” Faster Pussycat’s “Bathroom Wall,” Billy Squier’s “Lonely is the Night,” Poison’s “Nothing But a Good Time,” Extreme’s “Play With Me” Eddie Money’s “Shaken,” and “Synchronicity II” by the recently reformed Police. As of now, 13 of the 30 songs that will be featured in the game are known, with others to be undoubtedly revealed bit by bit over the coming weeks.
Besides unveiling the expanded song list, Activision also tweaked the title of the game formerly known as Guitar Hero: Rocks the 80s. Henceforth, it will be known as Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks the 80s–perhaps presaging a whole retro “Encore” subfranchise to the Guitar Hero series. However, no such spin-off had been officially confirmed as of press time.

Endeverafter’s new disc to be released on August 12th, 2007.
Endeverafter opened for the Poison/Cinderella concerts in 2006, to rave reviews almost everywhere. They have now put up some of their brand new tunes on their myspage page, and a new video. These are some of the best new songs that I have heard by a new band in quite some time.
Go to their myspace page and check them out! You will be glad you did.
Los Angeles, CA (AHN) – Recordings made in May 1983 by Rapidfire, a former Los Angeles rock band that included Guns N’ Roses lead singer Axl Rose, will be available on CD.
Attorney for Kevin Lawrence, former guitarist of Rapidfire has been working with Rose’s attorney to reach an acceptable agreement, but the recordings, which have been kept in storage, will be released regardless.
In an interview with The Rock Radio.com, Lawrence had this to say: “I considered Axl a friend, I am trying to work beyond the scope of my legal rights with him, out of my respect and admiration for him. Regardless, though, if in the future he chooses not to cooperate, the CD will come out commercially.” The CD package will also include pictures of Axl Rose that pre-date his tattoos.
When the Rapidfire recordings will be released has not yet been determined, but it may be before the long-delayed Guns N’ Roses, “Chinese Democracy.”
The band, Rapidfire consisted of Axl Rose, Kevin Lawrence, Mike Hammernik, and Chuck Gordon.
The 1983 recorded songs are:
“Ready To Rumble”
“All Night Long”

MEGADETH’s new album, “United Abominations”, has entered the U.K. chart at No. 23, making it the band’s highest-charting LP in the U.K. since 1994’s “Youthanasia”, which peaked at No. 6. MEGADETH’s last album, “The System Has Failed”, debuted at No. 60 on the U.K. chart. “United Abominations” also debuted at No. 23 on the official Australian ARIA (Australian Record Industry Association) chart.
You can read the Hard Rock Hideout review here!
In other news, MEGADETH have cracked Amazon.ca’s (Amazon Canada) Top 10 bestseller list. The album peaked at No. 5 and currently sits at No. 8.
According to Hits Daily Double, MEGADETH is on track to sell around 60,000 copies of its latest CD, “United Abominations”, in the United States in its first week of release to land in the Top 10 (possibly Top 5) of the Billboard chart. This is more than the 46,000 first-week tally registered by its predecessor, “The System Has Failed” (which debuted at No. 18 on The Billboard 200 chart), and is in line with the 61,000 opening number of 2001’s “The World Needs A Hero” (No. 16).
On March 25, MEGADETH taped a special “invite-only” set and took part in a question-and-answer session at the Musique Plus studios in Montreal, Quebec. The band played four songs — “Washington Is Next”, “Sleepwalker”, “Gears of War” and “A Tout Le Monde (Set Me Free)” — for a Musique Plus special that aired yesterday (May 15), the street date of MEGADETH’s new album, “United Abominations”. JON OLIVA’S PAIN Drummer Issues Update On Upcoming Album
Drummer Christopher Kinder of JON OLIVA’S PAIN, the band led by SAVATAGE mastermind Jon Oliva, has issued the following update:
“Now that the spring touring is finally in the can, we thought it was time to update you with some detailed info on JON OLIVA’S PAIN [album] #3…coming soon to a store near you! Actually it will be January/February 2008, but that’s not really that far off. For JON OLIVA’S PAIN, the record has to be delivered by late October so we don’t really have much time to dick around before we begin the high-energy, comedy-filled recording sessions we all live for… (Frode, leave your evil twin in Norway…hehehe).
“Now before we get into the actual record, we’ll fill you in on some of our plans for this CD. AFM has picked up the option for the next release. In other words, we must have sold enough records to put some cash in AFM’s pockets so they’ll try another one with us and see if we can raise the roof even higher this time. We are thrilled to be working with them once again. They believed in the band, and the music and they did their jobs. It is a win-win for everyone, including the fans.
“So in light of that development, Oliva wanted to raise the bar with the packaging of the new disc. We have no say over the number of different releases or decisions that the label has the rights to. What we can do is try to bring something fresh and give you the fans every reason possible to go out and buy JON OLIVA’S PAIN’s music.
‘We have decided on a multi-media presentation that should blow everyone’s minds. Sorry, we can’t give you the sorted details just yet, but if memory serves us right we can only think of one other band that has ever done what we are going to do for all of you. We will say this….there will be plenty of studio footage available for your viewing pleasure as well. It is our sincere intention to bring as much of the recording experience to you as possible. Anyone who has had the chance to witness one of our sessions knows exactly what we are talking about… it’s simply priceless and we could easily make a hit reality TV show out of it!… It’s that funny!
“Now the CD: We have settled on a sort of ‘theme’ and are awaiting the official OK from AFM. It’s not a concept record (yikes!) but each song will tell a story that binds it all together. It’s going to be a very dark presentation! Oliva is not a happy man, and he is going to write all about it. Expect some of the darkest lyrics he has ever written, but the messages are important and real! Experimenting musically a bit more on this record seems logical for us. We all have a great many ideas to add to Oliva’s already brilliant songwriting, and we are purposely going to look at anything and everything we can to make these songs as interesting as possible. Oliva’s music will always sound like Oliva… so no matter what crazy idea or sound we come up with, the end result will never be sacrificed.
“We are working on a 10-minute opening opus that will clearly set the tone for the rest of the CD. Currently we have 15 working titles, more Criss Oliva riffs to add and massive amounts of arrangments left to do. But the framework is there, and tonight Oliva, Kevin and I will begin the daunting task of sifting through everything we have so far… chopping, dicing, and mixing whatever is necessary to achieve another 60 minutes of magic… as best we can. You are going to hear some things from Oliva that you probably never heard before. But that is the genius of his writing skills….he is finding new ways to incorporate different elements but always managing to preserve his unique style.
“Matt and Zahner will probably begin working with us again later this week. Pre-production at Audio should officially commence in the next month or so and once we have the final arrangements and basic recordings, Kevin and I will begin preparing to cut our tracks sometime in July or early August.
“JON OLIVA’S PAIN dealt with a lot of unnecessary turmoil and anxiety during the first few weeks of the recording of ‘Maniacal Renderings’. We will never put ourselves in that position again. Rothney and I want ample time to come up with the best performances we can… because we know it’s not going to be easy matching or beating ‘Maniacal Renderings’… but we sure are going to try!”
“Maniacal Renderings” entered the German national chart at position No. 86 upon its release in September 2006.
New Nikki Sixx CD, SIXX A.M. on the way in August.
MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist Nikki Sixx is putting the finishing touches on “The Heroin Diaries” soundtrack, which will be released on August 21 under the band name SIXX: A.M. According to Sixx, “All 13 tunes are done. James [Michael] is just mixing the last few now and the album will be completely done next week.” He adds, “What a huge body of work we’ve pulled off. We’re all proud to have this album under our wings.”
On Tuesday May 22, Sixx and UGO.com will premiere the video for “Life Is Beautiful”, the first single from “The Heroin Diaries”. The song is performed by Nikki Sixx, DJ Ashba (ex-BEAUTIFUL CREATURES), and James Michael.
“The Heroin Diaries” CD is a precursor to Sixx’s autobiography of the same name, which arrives September 25. The album’s 12 tracks each match up with one chapter in the book; “Life Is Beautiful” can be streamed from the book’s MySpace.com page.
“The Heroin Diaries: A Year in the Life of a Shattered Rock Star” offers an unflinching and utterly gripping look at Sixx’s descent into drug addiction with a soundtrack, featuring James Michael and DJ Ashba (ex-BEAUTIFUL CREATURES), to match.
In this candid memoir, Nikki Sixx — MÖTLEY CRÜE’s bassist and main songwriter — recounts the band’s heyday. “The Heroin Diaries” takes readers along on one of the most breathless and harrowing roller coaster rides in the history of pop music. At its heart lies the author’s nightmare come true: a punishing heroin addiction that brought him and the band to the edge of losing much more than just their spot on the charts. Serving up snapshots of rock culture at its most manic, this insider’s look at triumph and tragedy is every bit as explosive as the musical odyssey it chronicles.
“The Heroin Diaries: A Year in the Life of a Shattered Rock Star” will come out through MTV Books/Simon & Schuster. The accompanying original concept soundtrack will be released by Eleven Seven Music and distributed by ADA, with a portion of proceeds donated to Nikki’s Running Wild in the Night, a fundraising initiative for Covenant House. The book is a tell-all covering 12 months in Sixx’s battle against addiction, drawn from Nikki’s 1986 and ’87 journals, and reportedly makes CRÜE’s celebrated “Dirt”, now being made into a motion picture, sound like Mary Poppins.

Here is an excerpt from the press release:
Marco is one of the most respected and well known musicians in the Los Angeles music scene. According to Ted Nugent, “Marco is the world’s greatest bass player and he’s got the soul.” He also played with the likes of Thin Lizzy (with whom he’s been recently touring UK and going to appear live during the summer), WHITESNAKE, BLUE MURDER, OZZY OSBOURNE and THE CRANBERRIES.
Though most often recognized for his jaw-dropping 6-string fretless bass chops, Marco is a master of the 4, 5 and 6-string fretted bass, too. But that’s not enough. In Live For Tomorrow, his debut solo album, Marco shows his hidden vocal talent, which just needs to be heard to be believed! Mixing different vocals styles from the bluesy David Coverdale and Paul Rodgers ranges to the Eric Martin-esque overtones, Mendoza shines as a singer that is able to deliver a passionate and strong performance in every song.
Live For Tomorrow was mostly written and produced by Marco during the second half of 2006 and the beginning of 2007, together with former Poison and Mr. Big guitarist Richie Kotzen, who also produced the album. Musically the record offers a sincere and down to earth sound, reminiscing of classic Hard Rock (with hints to AC/DC, MR BIG, DAMN YANKEES etc.) with blues and melodic Rock roots.
Some very special guests appear to tribute the talent of this amazing guy. Among them: Ted Nugent, Doug Aldrich (of Whitesnake) and Steve Lukather of TOTO all offer guitar solos appearances, Tommy Aldridge of Whitesnake and Brian Tichy (PRIDE AND GLORY, OZZY OSBOURNE, FOREIGNER, and BILLY IDOL) play drums while Richie Kotzen of course handles the bulk of guitars and duets on vocals with Marco on ‘I Want You’.
Live For Tomorrow will include the following cuts: ‘Not For Me’, ‘Live For Tomorrow’, ‘Lettin’ Go’, ‘Look Out For The Boys’, ‘I Want You’, ‘Your Touch’, ‘Let The Sun Shine’, ‘You Got Me’, ‘In My Face’, ‘Broken’, ‘Still In Me’, ‘Dance With Me.’
Live For Tomorrow will see a North American release on Locomotive and Japanese release on King.

You’ll know when I want to stop because I won’t be doing it anymore. I’ve tried not doing it, but it’s not like I’ve got a job. I’d miss the fans. I’d miss the buzz, seeing the crowd going crazy.”
As previously reported, Ozzy Osbourne will kick off his 2007 world tour when he performs two songs on the May 18 episode of The CW‘s “Friday Night SmackDown” at the sold-out 1st Mariner Arena in Baltimore. Osbourne‘s new song “I Don’t Wanna Stop”, the first single from his upcoming “Black Rain” album, will also serve as the official theme of WWE‘s May 20 “Judgment Day” pay-per-view, two days before “Black Rain”‘s worldwide release date.

There is a lot to talk about, but nothing more important than this:
This is a night I have been hoping for, for many years now; the night before a “fierce new Megadeth release.”
I want to tell you all how much I love you and how many times I have felt like I was going to explode in anticipation just watching you hear United Abominations for the first time.
It’s no secret how much we care about each other here at Megadeth.com and Myspace/Megadeth and I wish I could be there with you, hanging out, to share the moment and chat with you, and hear your excitement when you are done experiencing U.A. for the first time.
But I have a secret for you… it is going to get better every time you listen to it.
I want you to know we thought of every one of you, each time we sang, and we thought of each one of you, each time we played. We were so excited about you hearing this, because WE like it. And that is a kewl thing.
Your love for Megs has fired me up to make a record that I love, beyond just about anything I have ever done.
I would like to say a li’l prayer that each one of you would know how much I love you and appreciate your support…. even the assholes.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart,
DIO guitarist Craig Goldy has joined West Virginia melodic hard rockers HYDROGYN.
Comments Goldy: “While Ronnie is touring and recording with HEAVEN AND HELL, I am proud to announce my journey with HYDROGYN. I am looking forward to writing, recording and touring with them during the all too often well-known ‘hiatus’ of the band DIO.
Craig continues: “It’s quickly become much more than a ‘one-off’ situation with HYDROGYN. During the negotiation process involved in our mutual desire to work together, we forged a strong bond that I believe will continue well into the future in all aspects of an endevour such as this one has become.
“Upon Ronnie’s return I will be anxiously awaiting the writing, recording and touring that will follow and highly anticipating an awesome CD release alongside my family Ronnie, Rudy, Simon and Scott. Until then I will be operating at my fullest potential with HYDROGYN, with whom I’ve also been honored to form a long-term friendship with and build an alliance with DA Records and my program Destiny Bridge. It is my sincere hope and desire to continue in this capacity long into the future.”
HYDROGYN founding guitarist Jeff Westlake states: “Guitarist Jeff Boggs’s departure is due to family commitments and we totally appreciate and understand it. Craig coming into the band is awesome and I look forward to what is ahead both professionally and personally with Craig. I have had time to get to know him and we click very well. This next CD should be off the hook.”
The band is currently in writing sessions on both the East and West Coast for HYDROGYN’s upcoming third studio album, the follow-up to “Bombshell”.
HYDROGYN will support the release of their new studio CD with major touring worldwide.

The Past is Back to Kick Your Ass, and I am bring a size 12 boot!
Kathy Parker of Oklahoma’s Pryor Daily Times reports: Mayes County is bracing for the big hair invasion.
Rob Rogers, director of productions for Catch the Fever Music Festivals, cannot say enough about Rocklahoma, an ’80s rock festival coming July 13-15.
Rocklahoma will feature hard rock bands popular in the ’80s such as GREAT WHITE, QUIET RIOT, POISON, RATT and WHITE LION.
Although Country Fever will happen first, June 7-10, at the facility between Adair and Pryor, Rogers talked almost exclusively about Rocklahoma when he visited Adair.
“These people do have money and they will put it into the community,” Rogers said. “The first week of sales outsold Country Fever and the VIP sold out first.”
VIP seats are up front and include non-alcoholic drinks, beer, parking, lunch and dinner. To make sure enough VIP seats will be available, Rogers said, a $1 million renovation is being completed at Catch the Fever’s facility.
Rocklahoma is happening in Oklahoma, but it was announced at a press conference in Los Angeles. Since then, Rogers said tickets have been sold to people in 15 countries, four Canadian provinces and all 50 states.
“We expect 50,000 to 60,000 people each day,” Rogers said. “Every hotel room is booked in a 50- to 70-mile radius. People are thinking about renting their houses.
“This isn’t a four-state area thing. This is worldwide. The numbers just keep going daily.”
Rogers said the festival will be broadcast on world-wide pay for view television and the VH1 music channel.
Y&T DVD in the works
Legendary California rockers Y&T have pushed back the projected release date for their first-ever DVD to late June for Europe, July for the U.S., and August for the Pacific Rim and the rest of the world. The two-disc set will include a two-hour concert filmed on October 8, 2006 in Zoetermeer, The Netherlands (at Cultuurpodium Boerderij) on one DVD and a second bonus DVD containing backstage footage, soundcheck, outtakes, Bang Your Head!!! festival 2006 footage, and more. Also included will be a live audio CD of the Zoetermeer concert.
To commemorate Y&T‘s newly remastered, re-released “In Rock We Trust” CD, Karen Alvarez of Tribute Video Productions recently created a cool video for Y&T‘s 1984 song “Rock & Roll’s Gonna Save The World”. Watch it at YouTube.
Y&T celebrated the reissues of “Earthshaker” (1981) and “In Rock We Trust” (1984) by performing both albums in their entirety on March 17 at the Independent in San Francisco.
Re-released in February, “Earthshaker” “was carefully digitally re-mastered in November 2006 at a high sampling rate taken directly from the 1/2″ analog master tape. This new CD captures the sounds of the original mixes like no other version available.” Also reissued in January, “In Rock We Trust” was “carefully digitally re-mastered in November 2006 at a high sampling rate taken directly from the digital master tape,” according to a posting on the band’s site. “This new CD sounds clear and open like no other version previously available. Along with the original songs, there is an additional bonus track of the rarely heard studio recording of ‘Go for the Throat’.”

JOURNEY will premiere a new song this weekend, when the band plays a show commemorating the 400th anniversary of the first British settlement in the US.
The track is called ‘Winds Of Freedom’, and a rough demo version was just laid down last week.
Lead singer Jeff Scott Soto wrote on the Journey message board, “It sounds killer if I might say so, a testament of what’s to come. It starts off kinda like ‘When You Love A Woman’, but it’s not a traditional Journey ballad, especially lyrically.”
The song will have its world premiere on Saturday (May 12th), when Journey performs at the America’s Cup Of Polo match between the US and English teams at Morven Park in Leesburg, Virginia. The event is being held to mark the 400th anniversary of British settlement in America, on May 14th, 1607, in Jamestown in what is now Virginia.
Journey will open the event with a version of ‘The Star Spangled Banner’, then return after the polo match to play a full set, which will include ‘Winds Of Freedom’. Proceeds will go to the non-profit Journey For The Cure, which supports the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and the MS Society for research into multiple sclerosis.
This will be Journey’s last show for the foreseeable future. Plans are underway to record a new album, with a release possible early next year.

CLAY MILLICAN TO RUN RATT TRIBUTE DRAGSTER
Stephen Pearcy and the rock band RATT enjoyed their 1980s drag racing exposure so much that they are back for more – literally. Two decades later, their name will be emblazoned on the Clay Millican-driven, Evan Knoll dragster for the balance of the 2007 NHRA POWERade tour promoting their upcoming June tour with another popular Eighties icon band Poison.
The RATT – Back for More dragster will make its debut in two weeks at Bristol Dragway’s O’Reilly NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals, May 18 – 20.
Knoll, an admitted heavy metal and rock and roll aficionado, has been chomping at the bit to get the tour underway.
“I can remember rocking in the Eighties to RATT,” Knoll said. “When I cranked up my stereo, everyone in the neighborhood knew I was listening to RATT. Come to think of it … nothing has changed. I still like it loud. The neighbors still complain about the noise.
“Top Fuel and RATT makes the perfect combination.”
Plans include various appearances at NHRA POWERade events for Pearcy including Bristol. RATT’s last foray into drag racing was during the 1986 season on the side of Dale Pulde’s legendary Buick Somerset Regal Funny Car.
“NHRA Drag racing is like RATT–n-ROLL … colorful, fast, dangerous and exciting,” Pearcy said “To be partnered with such an ‘A’ level program with Evan Knoll, Latrell Preston, Clay Millican and Dan Pikarsky just blows our mind. The band is more than ready to ‘Lay It Down’ with Clay that ‘River-RATT’ from Memphis. We’re all extremely excited to support SKULL GEAR, KNOLL Gas Motorsports and TORCO. The boys and I can’t wait for that first RATT Race at Thunder Valley!”
Millican, like Knoll, considers himself a rock and roll junkie.
“This is going to be fun,” Millican said. “This is an honor to represent a band that I grew up listening to in high school. This is going to be fun. Can this job get any better? You get to drive 300 miles per hour and hang out with really cool people.”
RATT just like many of the veteran drag racers are returning for another North American tour to promote a forthcoming “Best of” CD and DVD through Rhino records. A full itinerary is still being finalized, but Poison and RATT will join forces for a summer trek that is scheduled to begin June 13 at the Bi Lo Center in Greenville, S.C., and wind around the country through September 1st.
The tour, which brings the two bands onstage together for the first time since 1999, will visit major U.S. cities such as Boston, Detroit, New York, Oklahoma City and Los Angeles.
A picture of the design of the dragster is below!

Drummer Wild Mick Brown – “I Am In DOKKEN And Have No Intention Of Leaving That”
DOKKEN crazy man, Wild Mick Brown, has been spending his last few summer vacations on the road with TED NUGENT. This summer, however, both Dokken and Ted will be touring at the same time. That fact has led to many internet rumours about Mick’s status within Dokken. BW&BK sat down with Mick last week to set the record straight.
Mitch Lafon: What is your status with Dokken and Ted Nugent?
Wild Mick Brown: “I am in Dokken and have no intention of leaving that. We’re rushing to get my drum tracks done on a new record (that should be out in September). The problem is that we still have some writing to do before I leave for Ted Nugent in May. The reason I did the Ted Nugent thing is because Dokken had slowed up a bit and playing with Ted is just something else… a real shot in the arm. He’s the Original King of The Wild ‘70s – he’s everything and Superman. This will be my third summer tour with Ted and Dokken is really trying to get busy with touring as well. I wish I could balance them both out and I’m sure it gets frustrating for Don (Dokken) because I’m not going to make some shows. They’ve hired Vic Foxx and they say he’s really good and he fits in well, but I want to be there, you know. And they want me there because I’m the motivator of the band – I’m the engine.”
ML: How does Don react to you being with Ted?
WMB: “It’s a bitter sweet thing. He’s glad I had Ted to be financially secure…and sometimes it’s good to step out. I’ve been in Dokken for 25 years and I’ve never played with anybody else, so this was a good way to gauge where I was as a musician, a person and how you present yourself to a boss rather than being one, so this is really a kick for me. So, Don is really happy for me, but he doesn’t like thinking half of Don’s band is in Ted’s band. Ted’s tour ends in September then Dokken and KINGDOM COME have a package in Europe and once the record is out – Don will get knocking on some doors and get a tour going and remain busy.”
ML: What can you tell me about Dokken’s new album, Lightning Strikes?
WMB: “The band is playing better than it ever has – it’s just kicking butt. Now, Don had been writing some very modern songs and submitted the tapes to the record company and they said ‘we don’t want this. We don’t want your new stuff. We want you to be Dokken. Cheerios are Cheerios – you put raisins in them and it becomes Cheerios Raisin Bran and we want you to be Cheerios’. They want an ‘80s record and I’m looking at my wall right now and the only Gold and Platinum records on there are from the ‘80s. I never put one up after ’89 at all. So, the new songs sound like – pick any number from the ‘80s and that’s what we do. We’re going to give them what they want. There’s a lot of melody and lots of strumming – total Dokken. These songs could have been on any one of our ‘80s records. The songs could be on Back For The Attack, Under Lock & Key, Tooth And Nail. They sound like they came right off those records. It’s amazing how spooky that is.”
ML: I think that’s what the fans want.
WMB: “Well, they do. A lot of people don’t know we have any records after 1989. They think Back For The Attack is our last record. Some of our best work is later. We did a great record with Reb Beach and John Norum did a record with us, but people just don’t know because MTV dictated all that and everybody knew. So when we play, we play the songs that people know and we throw in some new stuff we like to play and you see the big question marks over their face – ‘what record is that from?’ We tried to move ahead and we made some great records after our heyday, but as soon as we were off MTV and our audience grew up and had kids of their own – it was over. We tried to write modern stuff, but it was a very funny time because we didn’t have a big record label or anybody pushing us. It was very awkward and now we just gave in to it. If they (fans) want us for something, then we’ll give them what they want. If people are happy hearing that and it’ll get us some work – I’m all for it.”
ML: You re-recorded your Greatest Hits with Jon and Barry. When will that album be out?
WMB: “Right, we basically did our set list that we’ve been playing for years ‘Breaking The Chains’, ‘It’s Not Love’, ‘Alone Again’, ‘Into The Fire’. We did it in studio, but it came off with a real live feel and it has a new more modern sound unlike those old DEF LEPPARD snare drums sounds. Barry said ‘it sounds aggressive’, but I guess we ran out of money and it just stopped. We were deep into it, but just couldn’t finish it. Don said he’ll hang onto it until we get the money to finish it.”
ML: So, it’s not coming out?
WMB: “I’m hoping so, but right now we’re focused on the new album.”
ML: There’s also the new Live From Conception 1981 album…
WMB: “It sounds great. We were such an aggressive band, but you could tell the song-writing wasn’t all there yet. I remember those shows. We were so excited to be a band and we were giving it everything we had. The energy level was up there and we were just stomping it out. We really did our best and I really got a kick out of that album.”
ML: Any last words?
WMB: “The Dokken band – it’s so wonderful to play with the people that are in it now because the tension is gone. I’ve never played in Dokken without it. It was always so intense. I mean – we had fun, but you had to walk on eggshells. Now, it’s a lot of fun. Also Ted is going to make a new record and I just want to be a part of that.”
SYMPHONY X – Sample All Tracks From New Album, Paradise Lost, Now
Samples for all ten tracks featured on the new SYMPHONY X album, can now be downloaded at this location.
The band are scheduled to release their new album, Paradise Lost, on June 26th via Inside Out Music.
Paradise Lost was produced by the band and the mix was completed by Jens Bogren (OPETH). The final tracklisting for the album (artwork pictured): ‘Oculus Ex Inferni’, ‘Set The World On Fire (The Lie Of Lies)’, ‘Domination’, ‘The Serpent’s Kiss’, ‘Paradise Lost’, ‘Eve Of Seduction’, ‘The Walls Of Babylon’, ‘Seven’, ‘The Sacrifice’, ‘Revelation (Divus Pennae Ex Tragoedia)’.
“At my age, I don’t know how many more of these tours I have left in me,” Osbourne tells Guitar World magazine. “This could be the last one.”
Osbourne founded the annual summer metal festival in 1996, and it has since grown to become one of the largest and most popular tours.
Although the singer stated in 2006 that he would no longer make regular appearances at Ozzfest, he announced in February 2007 that he would headline this year’s tour. “I owe my audience something,” he says. “I owe them everything.”
But he admits the pressures of the festival are taking a toll on him. “It’s a hell of a lot of responsibility for me. If I get sick or if my voice gets blown out or whatever the fuck happens, and I can’t make a show, the audience gets pretty fucking mad.”
According to a posting on the AC/DC fan site AC/DC Highway to Hell, it is rumored that AC/DC has completed editing video footage for a brand new double DVD set to be released September, which will contain one Bon Scott DVD and one Brian Johnson DVD of AC/DC live in concert. The band has also supposedly completed a new album which is scheduled for release January 2008, with a world tour to follow.
Back in December 2006, Albert Music boss Fifa Riccobono shot down reports that AC/DC had a new record titled “Strap It On” coming in 2007.
“I ran that past Mal (Young) some time ago and he said it was the first he’d heard of it, so I guess the answer no,” she told Undercover News. “Also, there definitely is no release date scheduled as the album hasn’t been recorded yet.”
AC/DC leaders Malcolm and Angus Young have been writing material for a few years. In early 2005, singer Brian Johnson told Launch there was a lot of stuff to work with. “I think, and I might be speaking out of turn, but I think they’re doing a double, with the amount of songs — I’ve been over a couple of times with the boys and added ideas on 46 tunes we had, and they’ve been working since then!” he said.
Out of all of the bands playin in the Rocklahoma Music Festival in 2007, W.A.S.P. is one of the few bands that has new music to play for the fans. (Warrant, Quiet Riot, and Bang Tango are the others.)
Dominator starts off with two great heavy tracks Mercy and Long, Long Way to Go. Blackie seems to sing in a little lower register on Mercy, and I like it a lot. This is a great new song.
The rhythm section takes over on Long, Long Way to Go. This fast and heavy drum beats of Mike Dupke really drives this track. Doug Blair cuts loose and provides some great solos, and Blackie sounds great as always!
Take Me Up is a varying tempo number that Blackie Lawless shines on. Great!!
The chugging guitars of Burning Man is very cool. Doug Blair’s outstanding guitar work makes this track shine. This is another excellent track on Dominator.
Heaven’s Hung in Black is a lengthy (over 7 minutes) powerful track that needs to be listened to multiple times to truly discover how great it is. It starts as a slow brooding number but breaks into something much heavier. Blackie’s voice is amazing and Doug Blair’s guitar noodling is superb.
Heaven’s Blessed cranks up the tempo once more, and is another great heavy tune on Dominator.
Teacher feels like a potential Rock Radio hit. I can see this one getting added to the playlists at some of the hard rock stations and XM radio’s Boneyard.
The revisit of Heaven’s Hung in Black (Reprise) was not really needed on this disc, and seems like a wasted track. If you need a shorter version of the song above, this one is the way to go, but you will miss out on Blair’s guitar work on the longer version.
Deal with the Devil is a heavy, upbeat rocker and a great album closer.
Dominator is another solid effort by W.A.S.P. and another great disc worth picking up in 2007. Currently, it seems the distribution of this disc has not brought into most U.S. retailers (unless you import it.)
Rocklahoma fans have some great new W.A.S.P. tunes to look forward to on the last night of the festival!

VINCE NEIL’s Dr. Feelgood’s Rock Bar Outfits Sicken Local Nurses
Palm Beach Post has issued the following report from Jose Lambiet:
It’s a storm in a syringe.
Area nurses are up in arms over a yet-to-open WPB bar fronted by wild rock star VINCE NEIL. Neil and his Clematis group plan to outfit barmaids and waitresses in sexy nurse’s outfits.
That has some real angels of mercy suggesting pickets and a boycott once the joint, Dr. Feelgood’s Rock Bar, opens downtown in late summer — possibly with a free concert by the MÖTLEY CRÜE frontman.
“This concept is showing serious disrespect toward professional people,” said 30-year nursing veteran and former Good Sam supervisor Deborah Copeland. “This is everything that nursing is against. Portraying us as servers in an establishment that doesn’t benefit anyone’s health is outrageous.”
Adds Palm Beach Community College nursing Associate Professor Rebecca Pleasant: “Anytime someone smuts the image of the profession, it’s demoralizing. There is a huge nursing shortage in the county, and being looked at as mindless sex objects won’t help us recruit students.”
Copeland and Pleasant are among several nurses who have asked WPB Mayor Lois Frankel and Downtown Development Authority boss Melissa Wohlust to run interference against the bar’s owners through the permitting process.
“The ladies seem to be organizing,” Wohlust said. “But there’s nothing we can do. What Dr. Feelgood’s is doing is legal and within code. We told the owners that some folks were offended by the concept, but that’s their marketing decision.”
Dr. Feelgood’s refers to a well-known Mötley Crüe song. The large Clematis bar will feature rock ‘n’ roll memorabilia, motorcycles and loud music in addition to a phony pharmacy counter stacked with oversized pill containers.
The owners, restaurant developers Cleve Mash and Rodney Mayo, also have received calls from ticked-off Florence Nightingales.
“They need to relax,” Mash said. “What about Halloween? All I know is the young nurses I know don’t mind being looked at as sexy.”

“Izzy Stradlin would like to inform all fans that a new album is on the way. Expect to see ‘Miami’ cropping up on iTunes sometime between May and June 2007.
“The album, featuring 11 tracks recorded at Criteria Studios in Miami, is described by guitarist Rick Richards as being ‘a bit of a departure from ‘Like A Dog’ but still quite a rocker!’
“Izzy will be trying his best to keep the fans informed of the pending release, stating ‘I’ve just finished sending new CD ‘Miami’ to iTunes.’ Izzy has also offered to share one song with the fans directly through ChopAway.com adding: ‘…to share with the fans until it is actually up on iTunes, there is a ragga song. It’s called ‘fso ragga’.’
“The album is an exclusive ‘iTunes-only’ release, which will be available in USA, Canada, Japan, Australia and Europe simultaneously. As no physical CD release is planned, that we know of anyway, we are strongly suggesting that all fans download a copy of iTunes in order to get the album. ‘Miami’ features the regular lineup of Izzy Stradlin on vocals and guitar, Rick Richards taking lead guitar, and Taz Bentley on drums. JT Longoria, who appeared on several ‘Like A Dog’ tracks returns to cover bass duties on the album, and friend Joey Huffman takes keyboards.
“Taz Bentley, who appears on all of Izzy‘s solo albums dating from 1998 – 2007 recalled the recording sessions for ‘Miami’: ‘We had such a good time recording this one. We did it before Christmas and when we got back home decided it was so much fun that we should go back and do some more.’ Describing the sound of the forthcoming album Taz added: ‘This recording is more loose. We spent time jamming the songs out a pinch more than normal. I was in a great place mentally so I think that carried over into the recordings. Izzy, Rick and I found a hole in the wall cuban restaurant that we would walk to every day for lunch. The vibe was relaxed and the songs are as strong and diverse as always.’
“To keep the fans happy before the album is officially released, Izzy sent along the following message: ‘In a few days I’ll be sending more clips. Probably from the songs ‘Buildings In The Sky’, and ‘Let Go’.’ Izzy has also included the album artwork, for fans to take a look at, whilst he also mentioned the origin of the artwork, with Izzy saying: ‘Picture with no print….cool!…I shot it in an abandoned steelmill in Ajo, Arizona last week…’
“‘Miami’ continues Izzy‘s prolific run of album releases. Starting in 1998 with the scorchin’ ‘117°’ on Geffen Records, he followed up with ‘Ride On’ in 1999, ‘River’ in 2001, On ‘Down The Road’ in 2002, and finally ‘Like A Dog’ in 2005.”

The performance has come and gone. Jon Bon Jovi announced last night that their world tour will start in January 2008, but they will be doing select dates here and there including 10 dates in New Jersey.
As far as the new song goes, I found it a little boring. You can check it out below:

Blackie Lawless Rushed to Hospital!
W.A.S.P. had to abort their concert in Karlskrona, Sweden on Saturday, April 28th, after 50 minutes when frontman Blackie Lawless had pain in his chest.
The band came back on stage after about 10 minutes and did a final song, ‘Blind In Texas’, but after that Blackie was immediately taken to the hospital. He was released from the hospital after a few hours of observation and stood on stage in Lund, Sweden the following day.
The 51-year old frontman had problems with his heart as recently as last year.
W.A.S.P. released their new album, Dominator, in the UK on April 16th, Scandinavia on April 20th, and the rest of mainland Europe on April 27th via Demolition Records. The CD will arrive in South America and Russia in early May.
Says Lawless: “The title is from a quote from American President Abraham Lincoln when he saw the casualty reports from the battle of Gettysburg, and after reading that he said: ‘Tonight the Heaven’s are hung in black.’ So I took that idea and I wrote it from a point of view of a US soldier in Iraq who’s on the verge of dying and he’s standing at the Gates of Heaven but St. Peter tells him that because of all the fighting that has been taking place, they have no more room in Heaven, and that he must come back some other time. So based on that understand that the verses are St. Peter talking, and the chorus is the soldier.”

“I’m still on for an album and a tour with them, but we have no (new material written),” Ozzy tells MTV.com. “It would be so easy for us to get in and out of a studio and make an album. But if it’s not up to the par of when I left, why do it? It will destroy the fucking legacy of Black Sabbath, and the legend of Black Sabbath. I haven’t dropped the idea, because Tony (Iommi) and I are talking alright about it. I haven’t abandoned the idea — like, ‘If my album does well, fuck Black Sabbath.’ It’s what I want to do. We have repaired some of the damage between each other, and now, I’d like to do a really good fuckin’ Black Sabbath album.”
According to MTV.com, HINDER, PAPA ROACH and BUCKCHERRY are teaming up for this summer’s Badboys of Rock Tour, which will kick off July 13 in Lansing, Michigan, and run through mid-September. Tesla announces the Details on Real to Reel
TESLA has always been revered as a bluesy, no-frills, ’70s-style hard rock band, concentrating on solid musicianship more than the trends of modern music. Now, after selling over 16 million albums worldwide since bursting onto the scene in 1986, they’re paying homage to their hard rock heroes on their sixth studio album, “Real To Reel”, due out June 5 on their own independent label, Tesla Electric Company Recordings (in partnership with Ryko Distribution).
The first single, LED ZEPPELIN’s “Thank You” (listen to the track at this location) is currently being serviced to radio on May 1, but it has been receiving early airplay for the past few weeks on such stations as KRXQ in Sacramento, The Bone in San Francisco, WHOG in Milwaukee, KZRR in Albuquerque and KDKP in Phoenix and KISW in Seattle. A video for the track is forthcoming.
“Real To Reel” — produced by TESLA and Tom Zutaut and recorded at the Sonic Ranch in Tornillo, TX — is a two-disc 25-song collection of classic rockers from the ’60s and ’70s, recorded through a vintage Neve console directly to Ampex 456 analog tape to capture the purity of these timeless and legendary songs. Songs include “Space Truckin'”, “I’ve Got A Feeling”, “Ball of Confusion”, “All The Young Dudes” and “Street Fighting Man”.
The first 13 tracks will be available on June 5 at retail outlets, while the second disc containing the remaining 12 songs will be available this summer along the band’s tour route with the purchase of a concert ticket. Details are forthcoming.
TESLA first tested out some of their favorite rock classics with their fans in the summer of 2006 during the “Electric Summer Jam” tour (the first tour with guitarist Dave Rude, who replaced original guitarist Tommy Skeoch). While UFO’s “Rock Bottom” went down like a storm to a standing, cheering, grandstand crowd of 10,000 in Milwaukee, BLACK SABBATH’s “War Pigs” engaged 6,000 people in Lansing, Michigan so much that they refused to leave during a torrential rainstorm which lasted throughout the entire two-hour show. After getting such a positive reaction from their fans, the band knew making “Real To Reel” was a logical next step for them.
“‘Real To Reel’ is a collection of songs that inspired us back in the day when we first heard them in the ’70s,” says singer Jeff Keith. “We originally had a large list of songs in mind for the record, and we had a lot of fun picking out the ones that ultimately made it onto the album. Making music is all about feeding off of your inspirations and putting your own touches to it. We feel we’ve accomplished this to the highest extent.”
In talking about the first single, “Thank You”, Keith explains, “That’s my favorite song on the album, and it’s funny because we never discussed covering that particular song. We went back and forth about a lot of LED ZEPPELIN songs. We had planned on doing ‘The Song Remains The Same’, and it was Frank who thought we should do ‘Thank You’ instead. The guys actually recorded it while I was at my casita feeding the abandoned pups and their mom that I found in a vacant lot. When I returned to the studio and heard what they did, I was so blown away that it inspired me to sing what I think is my best vocal performance on the record. When I finished recording in one take, it was just mind-blowing. Everyone in the studio was in tears. Sometimes that’s how it works and that’s the beauty of making music. We all felt it was the perfect choice for the first single. If you think about TESLA, the lyrical message of the lyrics throughout the years, they’re very similar to ‘Thank You’. It’s that same positive message that we try to get across in every TESLA song. It’s a sacrilegious song to cover and we didn’t think we’d do it justice, but we were up for the challenge.
“Jimmy Page once told Brian that he had bought the ‘Five Man Acoustical Jam’ record and thought it was a really great album. That was a huge thrill for us to hear because we’ve always had a love of LED ZEPPELIN and they were so important to all of us growing up. There’s always been this reverence for ZEPPELIN. So hearing Jimmy Page say he loved TESLA too, we were honored and it enlightened our spirits. LED ZEPPELIN inspired us to be a band in the first place.”
On the touring front, TESLA will launch a summer U.S. headlining tour starting June 7 in Santa Rosa, CA at the Wells Fargo Center for the Arts. They’ll make a stop in Las Vegas at the House of Blues on Thursday, June 14. Tickets for both shows go on sale Friday, April 27. The band will perform three more House of Blues shows in Anaheim (Friday, June 8), West Hollywood (Saturday, June 9), in San Diego (Monday, June 11), which go on sale this Saturday, April 28. More dates will be announced in the coming weeks. Fans can stay plugged into all things “Real To Real” and purchase VIP ticket packages at the band’s new web site, http://www.teslarealtoreel.com.

On the way home, I stopped in the local Rock shop, and picked up Def Leppard X, Masterplan Aeronautics, and Rob Rock, Holy Hell for the grand tune of 7.99, TOTAL!
Then I came home and got the following announcement in email:
Poison at Riverbend Music Center on Tuesday, June 19 at 7:00 pm
Poison with Ratt and White Lion
Tuesday, June 19 at 7:00 pm
Riverbend Music Center
On Sale Friday, Apr 27 at 10:00 am!
This rock fan could not be happier! Ratt and Poison have not released all of their dates yet, but I am guessing by this email the announcement will be happening any day now!
Ratt released this press release this evening:
After much speculation and anticipation following the airing of their Behind The Music episode on VH1 last spring, multiplatinum hard rock act RATT with vocalist Stephen Pearcy, guitarist Warren DeMartini and drummer Bobby Blotzer will grace the stage together for the first time since 1999. Plans for not only a U.S. summer tour but a full-fledged comeback are being mapped out now as the band prepares to hit the road with POISON. The band’s own tour dates will extend into the fall and may also include shows in Canada, Europe, Japan, South America and Australia. Joining the band onstage will be bassist Robbie Crane and guitarist John Corabi.
A full itinerary is still being finalized, but Poison and Ratt will join forces for a summer trek that is scheduled to begin June 13th at the Bi Lo Center in Greenville, S.C., and wind around the country through the end of August.
The tour, which brings the two bands onstage together for the first time since 1999, will visit major U.S. cities such as Boston, Detroit, New York, Oklahoma City and Los Angeles.
The band has recently aligned with Carl Stubner, CEO of Sanctuary Artist Management (ZZ Top, Mick Fleetwood/co-manager of Fleetwood Mac, Tommy Lee/Supernova, Paulina Rubio, Jack’s Mannequin) and is booked by Jay Frey at Paradise Artists.
RATT made their mark in the early ’80s going ‘Round And Round’ with a string of hit songs, videos and four consecutive multiplatinum albums (over 16 million albums sold worldwide). Their arena-filling live shows set the standard for all bands to follow. Creating anthems for the youth of that era, their music and performances maintain a timeless quality to this day.
A new Ratt best of CD and DVD are due this summer from Rhino Records.
GUNS N’ ROSES havee announced that their 2007 World Tour will begin on June 2 in Monterrey Mexico. The tour had been delayed due to an injury to bassist Tommy Stinson‘s left wrist. Fortunately, the sprain is healing nicely and soon the band will be ready to rock like only they can.
June will see GN’R perform three concerts in Mexico before heading to Australia and New Zealand. It’s been fifteen years since GN’R last performed in Mexico, Australia, or New Zealand and the anticipation is beyond belief. July has GN’R traveling to Japan for a series of rescheduled concerts. Fans attending can expect to hear GN’R classics like “Welcome To the Jungle”, “November Rain”, “Patience” and “Sweet Child O’ Mine” along with blistering new songs from the band’s forthcoming “Chinese Democracy” album like “Madagascar”, “IRS” and “Better”.
GUNS N’ ROSES tour dates:
June 02 – Monterrey Mexico Arena Monterrey
June 03 – Guadalajara Mexico VFG Arena
June 05 – Mexico City Mexico City Sports Palace
June 10 – Perth Australia Burswood
June 13 – Adelaide Australia Adelaide Entertainment Centre
June 15 – Melbourne Australia Rod Laver Arena
June 20 – Brisbane Australia Brisbane Entertainment Centre
June 23 – Sydney Australia Acer Arena
June 29 – Auckland New Zealand Vector Arena
July 14 – Tokyo Japan Makuhari Messe
July 15 – Tokyo Japan Makuhari Messe
July 17 – Tokyo Japan Budokan Hall
July 18 – Nagoya Japan Rainbow Hall
July 21 – Osaka Japan Osaka Jo-Hall
More dates will be announced.
2006 saw GUNS N’ ROSES perform over 70 concerts all over the world to rave reviews. With the release of the highly anticipated and long-awaited “Chinese Democracy” album imminent, 2007 promises to be the time that GUNS N’ ROSES reclaim their throne as the world’s most dangerous band. Lead vocalist W. Axl Rose, guitarists Robin Finck, Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal and Richard Fortus, bassist Tommy Stinson, keyboard players Dizzy Reed and Chris Pitman, and drummer Frank Ferrer are a rock n’ roll spectacular that have to be experienced to be believed.
In other news, Robin Finck has posted an open letter on his official web site regarding the band’s cancelled shows and its postponed tour:
“I’m writing now in the wake of the recently postponed and cancelled GNR commitments in Japan and in South Africa,” he wrote. “I guess I’m writing because I too am disappointed, have a conscience, a website, and I am not on the Bullet Train to Osaka this evening.
“I purely want to share with those whom were avid for seeing GNR at these concerts that I too was looking forward to seeing you all. The band was primed and pumped, production packed and shipped. Then, much to our distress, unforeseen circumstance walked in, dropped its surly case and announced with certainty, ‘I’m here!’ What can we do.
“I have received innumerable emails from real people who where hooking up with friends or family, flying to faraway cities, booking hotels or friends’ couches, docking the USS Kitty Hawk, and otherwise scheduling their time and enthusiasm around these events. In short, these peeps wuz straight stung adrenalized and lettin’ me square have it! I too was psyched about the shows, planning to meet friends and family, watch the cherry blossom blossom etc. It is my wish that your bounce forward from here be one of a willful arc and opportunity. Believe me, I’m swallowing that very pill by your side.”
“It is with deep regret that I must inform you that there will not be a full reunion of the surviving RATT members.
“Considering the original band broke up fifteen years ago and there have been several questionable incarnations of it since then, my hope was maybe this time we could give the RATT fans what they have wanted all along; the original band. I made an exceptional and painstaking effort to work things out with the others, only to reach an impasse.
“There has not been a sincere attempt at redemption by my former band mates, for their insidious and sometimes malicious wrongdoings in the past, toward me. Even when they withdrew critical conditions to help facilitate a long-term reunion, I continued to hope, trying to stay focused on a positive outcome for everyone, especially the fans. I told them, in no uncertain terms, that if we could reach a point of reasonable compromise, in good faith, I would return to the band. To my dismay, near the end of negotiations, ulterior motives prevailed and I was eventually simply stonewalled. Therefore, since nothing has changed, I am left no other choice but to abstain from a reunion. I also made it clear that I was not doing this for the money. My attempt was motivated by my desire to instill credibility back into the name RATT, settle unfinished business and to give the RATT fans what I believe they would truly enjoy seeing and hearing the most. However, their ignorant and unscrupulous habits came into focus once again; a stark reminder of our tumultuous and dysfunctional past.
“Unfortunately, the biggest losers in this equation are the RATT fans, and for that I am truly very sorry. It was my sincere hope throughout several months of negotiations that many of the people that never got to see the original band could at least finally see the surviving members, delivering the bombastic assault of what has come to be known as Ratt N Roll.
“The band that will be opening for POISON this summer will be basically the same partially reformed band with Stephen [Pearcy] coming back to do vocals. I will be recording a follow-up to my LIQUID SUNDAY solo record and playing shows with my band.”
Who’s a Faster Pussycat? Taime Down’s Record Label Responds To Brent Muskat’s Open Letter, with an Open Letter
Recently KNAC.COM posted an open letter from Faster Pussycat guitarist Brent Muskat in which he extended an offer to Taime Down and Greg Steele to reunite for a 20 year anniversary tour. The letter ends with a post script that reads like a cannon blast across the bow (Read it below).
Tonight, KNAC.COM was asked to publish this response to Muskat’s letter, penned by the President of Taime Down’s current record label.
The letter reads as follows:
“In Brent Muscat’s “open letter” to Taime and Greg, he alleges the following:
“P.S.: Faster Pussycat is a Trademark in accordance with the requirements of U.S. Trademark, Patent & Copyright Law. Additionally, Faster Pussycat is a Federally Registered Trademark as certified by the USPTO. Any use of the name Faster Pussycat without the express written consent of Brent Muscat shall result in severe civil and criminal prosecution.”
Is that trademark you flaunt all bark and no bite? The executives at http://www.fulleffectrecords.com will take great pride in tossing you your Milk Bone to gnaw on. Taime and Greg are waiting by their mail boxes for their royalty checks for all the merchandise you’ve been pimping for how many years? Additionally, each time you perform the songs Taime and Greg wrote, (see examples below), we will be counting . . .
As far as your continued criticism regarding Taime’s musical validity, I believe they are selling the new Faster Pussycat album which rocks, by the way, at http://www.fulleffectrecords.com. Why do you not comprehend MUSICAL GROWTH? We don’t believe the album is industrial at all.
Wikipedia describes “Industrial music” as: “a loose term for a number of different styles of electronic and experimental music. First used in the mid-1970’s to describe the then-unique sound of Industrial Records artists, a wide variety of labels and artists have since come to be called “Industrial”. This definition may include avant-garde performance artists such as Throbbing Gristle, Einstürzende Neubauten, Coil and Laibach; noise projects like Merzbow or Sutcliffe Jugend or writers like William S. Burroughs and J.G. Ballard.”
I see no mention of Taime Downe in this definition. Just because he expanded his horizons, normally described as “growth,” and didn’t remain stagnant, is a tribute to his talent, not a basis for ridicule, or is it jealousy and envy?
The new Pussycat record is just as sleazy, with songs like “Sex, Drugs Rock and Roll,” “Number One With a Bullet,” and “Porn Star.” Additionally, Monster Magnets guitarist’s contributions to the CD were brilliant.
True Pussycat fans know the truth, the lawyers know the truth, and the truth shall set US free.
Just keep posting and running your mouth, because each time you do, you’re just digging a deeper hole for yourself.
The public is welcome to check the copyright and publishing forms to see who wrote the songs:

Unfortunately, we do not view your letter as a sincere attempt to resolve issues, but rather as a manipulative, self-serving, thinly veiled threat, as well as an attempt to elicit sympathy for your position.
Finally, in answer to your question, Taime feels it is irrelevant to engage in a conversation regarding “joining” HIS OWN band.

Faster Pussycat – Brent Muscat Issues Open Letter To Taime Downe and Greg Steele
Faster Pussycat guitarist Brent Muscat issued the following “open letter” to his former FP bandmates – vocalist Taime Downe and guitarist Greg Steele:
“Dear Taime and Greg,
I will try to keep this letter brief.
I have sent both of you email and messages through MySpace inviting you both to join original members (bassist) Eric Stacy, (drummer) Brett Bradshaw and myself as Faster Pussycat to do a 20th anivesary tour one last time.
I have not received a response from either of you so I will ask you both to consider joining us. Will you??
You have an open invitation to join with us. I want to add that yes I was very upset and hurt that neither of you contacted me when I was going through a really rough time in my life with cancer. If either of you guys had any kind of life threatening illness, I would be there for you.
I believe that both of you were a very important part of Faster Pussycat and it would be nice if someday we could all play together. I’m sure most of the fans would love it as well.
That being said Todd (Kerns, guitarist) and Kurt (Frohlich, vocals) are huge fans of both of you and are thrilled to being filling very large shoes!
If you decide that you don’t won’t to rejoin you are both invited to come up and jam anytime you want.
I’m sure you will be impressed with both Todd and Kurt as I am.
They are some of the best and most talented musicians I have ever played with.
I love you and wish good health to you both.
