SpiderRockets2

A week after releasing their first official video for “Going Down”, Spider Rockets will hit the road with Saliva in the midwest and the south. “We haven’t been on the road since our runs with Trapt earlier this spring,” admits lead singer, Helena Cos; “…but we haven’t visited the south in at least a couple of years! So that, along with Saliva being cool enough to share the stage with us is pretty awesome.”

Spider Rockets has a new stage show consisting of various backdrops, a smoldering rocket ship, probing searchlight, whips, megaphone and a mannequin head. “The rocket ship will be a work in progress, hopefully we won’t need to abort any missions!” jokes John Nap, the band’s guitarist. “But the real challenge as an opening band has been coming up with staging that won’t interfere with the headliner’s space; one that is modular enough to adjust from venue to venue, but that also packs light… And I believe we’ve found it.” John refers to a series self-standing vertical, retractable banners or scrims (neither, really) that can be extended, shortened, and rearranged depending on the size and configuration of the venue’s stage. Bassist, Greg Manning, adds: “We just hope we don’t end up with a ‘Stone Henge’ situation!”

The group also plans to bring along their four legged roadie/security guard, Lemmy, a 18 pound Dachshund with a bad attitude and a fierce appetite; “that little shit always sniffs out where I hide my meatball sub in the van,” bitches drummer, Dan Prestup.

Confirmed tour dates include:

October 2 Harley Davidson Biketown (Austintown, OH) w/ SALIVA

October 3 Jonny’s Roadhouse (Aurora, IN) w/ SALIVA

October 4 Beale Street Live (Indianapolis, IN) w/ SALIVA

October 5 Diesel Concert Lounge (Chesterfield, MI) w/ SALIVA

October 6 Centerstage Bar & Grill (Kokomo, IN) w/ SALIVA

October 8 Blackstock (Knoxville, TN) w/ SALIVA

October 9 Limelight (Nashville, TN) w/ SALIVA

October 10 Club Inferno (Scottsboro, AL) w/ SALIVA

October 11 Longbranch (Raleigh, NC) w/ SALIVA

October 18 The Saint (Asbury Park, NJ)

The tour is in support of the band’s current release, “Bitten,” produced in the band’s home state of New Jersey as well as Florida.

“Going Down,” the new video from the album can be seen below.

####

Spider Rockets is a female-fronted, hard rock four-piece from Hazlet, New Jersey. The group consists of Helena Cos on vocals, John Nap on guitar, Greg Manning on bass, and Dan Prestup on drums. Their brand of melody driven riff rock has been influenced by the likes of Godsmack, Buckcherry, Shinedown and Rob Zombie. The group has toured with or supported groups like Trapt, Papa Roach, Pop Evil, Framing Hanley, Saigon Kick, etc. Their current release, Bitten, has been named Top 10 Hard Rock Albums of 2012 by Metal Odyssey and has successfully won over popular rock acts in a number of “cage matches” at active rock radio.

After playing the last show of the “Sounds Of A Playground Fading” cycle at Germany’s Summer Breeze festival, IN FLAMES have just released a video for the title track of their highly successful album “Sounds Of A Playground Fading”. The video, that is made of live material, was produced by Patric Ullaeus for Revolver.se.

Enjoy “Sounds Of A Playground Fading” and relive some of the amazing times you had on IN FLAMES shows since the album was released in June 2011:

However, there is one very last and unique chance to see IN FLAMES live this year: The amusement park Gröna Lund (Stockholm, Sweden) announced today that IN FLAMES is confirmed for a VERY special show next week, September 27th, 2013. Gröna Lund had in fact closed their park for the season, but when they got word that In Flames was available, they decided to re-open the park, just for this show! MINDCAGE RELEASES EPIC VIDEO FOR “THE HUMAN RACE;”

OUR OWN DEVICES DROPS TUESDAY 9/17

The official video for “The Human Race” from Florida-based progressive metallers Mindcage is available for viewing below!

The full album, OUR OWN DEVICES, drops Tuesday, September 17.

A dark and powerful short movie, the video introduces the character of Arabella Vash, a young woman who exists in a utilitarian clockwork society.  She is becoming empowered by visions and dreams, and about to start her journey to find the band of rebels, The One Constant (portrayed by the band), that she will lead.  “The Human Race” is her awakening, and call to power.

In search of an appropriate post apocalyptic steam punk setting for their video, Mindcage chose to film in the historical district of their hometown of Pensacola FL. With the vision, creativity and costuming skills of Airship Isabella [http://airshipisabella.com/], an authentic and innovative steam-punk troupe from New Orleans, Mindcage was able to convey their vision of The One Constant and the dystopian world in which they live.

Jason Thomsen directed and edited “The Human Race.”   He recently served as assistant director on “Girl from Iceland” (a Kinematic Entertainment Production).  The track features vocals by Hydrogyn’s Julie Westlake.

OUR OWN DEVICES is mixed by rock legend Michael Wagener (Ozzy Osbourne, Metallica, Alice Cooper, Megadeth, Dokken, and Overkill).  The core members of Mindcage – Dietrick Hardwick (writer, guitarist), Brian Howell (bass) and Craig Nudo (drums) – have been connected personally and through music for almost thirty years.  Jeff Hignite, a recent but important addition, brought not only lyrical contribution but also his powerhouse vocals.

Our Own Devices is quite impressive: between the idea, lyrics, vocal arrangements, brisk guitar, and accomplished arrangements, it easily stands in the fine tradition of conceptual progressive metal albums like Queensryche’s Operation Mindcrime. Very recommended.

HALCYON WAY are preparing to hit the road in North America with Saxon and Fozzy. The tour kicks off this Thursday September 12th in Patchouge, NY and runs through October 19th in Vancouver, BC.  A complete list of dates can be found below.

HALCYON WAY are currently in the final stages of mixing for their new album.  The band recently completed work on a video for the song “Web Of Lies”.  The video received its exclusive premiere last weekend at the ProgPower USA XIV in Atlanta, GA.  The video can be seen below!

Guitarist Jon Bodan commented on the video and the upcoming tour:

“We are very excited to unleash our first music video on the world!  It’s been a long time coming but we like to do things right, and we think it’s worth the wait.  Check it out, and share it with your friends!  Also be sure to see us on tour with Saxon and Fozzy this month!”

The band’s forthcoming album was produced by Jon Bodan & Lasse Lammert (Alestorm, Gloryhammer) with additional vocal production by Seth Von Paulus (Linda Perry, Alicia Keys, Crash Kings, Smashing Pumpkins).  Art will again be handled by the legendary Travis Smith at Seempieces.”

Known for their explosive live shows, instantly catchy melodies, precise vocal harmonies, incendiary guitar work, intricate yet pounding drums, and live props and showmanship hearkening back to the glory days of arena rock, they dominate the live scene.

Aurally combining the heaviness of bands like Testament, the technical prowess of Dream Theater, the power metallic attitude of Evergrey and soaring vocal melodies, HALCYON WAY will leave you awestricken by their punishing riffs and unforgettable hooks.

0 Five Finger Death Punch – The Wrong Side Of Heaven And The Righteous Side Of Hell Volume One (2013)

  • September 10, 2013
  • by ryovie
  • · CD Reviews A-H · Entertainment · Hard Rock Music · Hard Rock News · Hard Rock Videos · Music · Video

Five Finger Death Punch The WrongWhen it comes to death/doom metal I am not a fan of the vocals at all. Usually the music is stellar, but the growling, gravel eating vocals destroy the song for me. When it comes to Five Finger Death Punch, I never gave them many listens. I had heard one or two songs on the radio and thought they were okay, but the growling vocals immediately had me stereotype the band and not explore them more. When it comes to The Wrong Side Of Heaven And The Righteous Side Of Hell Volume One, I am a huge fan. Five Finger Death Punch has won me over and I will definitely be seeking out their back catalog.

Having not listened to much Five Finger Death Punch, I did not know what to expect when I slipped in my ear buds and fired up The Wrong Side Of Heaven And The Righteous Side Of Hell. What I received was amazing music that blew my senses away. It was a symphony of spectacular sounds drifting through my eardrums and creating a grin on my face. Nothing brings me more joy than discovering a new (to me) band that I want to listen to over and over again.

“Lift Me Up” gets the disc started and it was this song that captured me instantly. There is so much happening on this one little song that it causes an explosion in the brain. With a cataclysm of sound, “Lift Me Up” is a terrific album opener, especially if it is one of the first times you are listening to Five Finger Death Punch. The song drew me in immediately and by the time it was completed, I was hooked and had to hear more.

“Dot Your Eyes” is another excellent song that just demands you jump around, scream and shout. Ivan Moody’s voice is strong and the rhythmic beats and blistering guitar solos will find fists flying in the air on first listen. The power that “Dot Your Eyes” delivers is unrivaled. The song demands attention and action. This would be the perfect song to work out to, rally behind, or start your day with. It’s an instant shot of energy and emotion and one of the best songs that The Wrong Side Of Heaven And The Righteous Side Of Hell has to offer.

My favorite song on the album is “Anywhere But Here.” The song is just magnificent. It revisits a familiar theme of what would you do if there was no tomorrow, but Five Finger Death Punch put their own spin on it. Most songs dealing with the theme of today being your last day on Earth discuss how the final moments should be enjoyed and treasured. Five Finger’s version is a little darker. “Anywhere But Here” approaches the world ending by proclaiming that no tears would be shed and that being anywhere but here but would be for the best. The narrator of the song is clearly not happy with where he is in life and it is time to get out and move on to something better. Throw in a magnificent Jason Hook guitar solo and some fantastic drum beats from Jeremy Spencer and it is easy to see why “Anywhere But Here” is one of the best tracks on this record.

Sad as it is to say, “Mama Said Knock You Out,” is a poor cover of the classic LL Cool J jam. The idea of a hard rock cover of this stupendous hip hop song gave me high hopes, but Five Finger just didn’t deliver as crisply as I had hoped. It is but one of two weaknesses on the album. The follow up song, “Diary Of A Deadman,” is not great either. In short, it’s a blatant rip off of Sixx AM’s Heroin Diaries. Thankfully, these are the last two songs on the record, so there are only two bad songs to endure. The other 9 tracks are flat out stellar.

It’s also worth noting that Five Finger Death Punch included 2 different versions of 3 songs. The first version was their own recording and the other version included guest vocals by Jamey Jasta (“Dot Your Eyes”), Max Cavalera (“I.M. Sin”), and Maria Brink (“Anywhere But Here”). It was interesting to hear the two different takes on each of these songs, and it has added some replay value to the record.

Overall, The Wrong Side Of Heaven And The Righteous Side Of Hell Volume One is a superb record that has me waiting in earnest for volume 2. If you are yearning for a modern rock sound with a real hardcore edge, I highly recommend this record. It has made me a Five Finger Death Punch fan.

‘THE PARADIGM SHIFT’
IN STORES OCTOBER 8
ON PROSPECT PARK

While the countown continues for the release of their new album THE PARADIGM SHIFT, KORN has released the video for their Top 10 Active Rock track “Never Never.” For it, the band teamed with director Giovanni Bucci who sets KORN performing against a surrealistic clock.  It  plays into the theme of love gone bad through the unexpected perspective of time as front man Jonathan Davis sings “I’m never going to love again.”

Look for the rock luminaries–Jonathan Davis [Vocals], James “Munky” Shaffer [Guitar], Brian “Head” Welch [Guitar], Reggie “Fieldy” Arvizu [Bass] and Ray Luzier [Drums]–to tour this fall in support of THE PARADIGM SHIFT. Dates include the return of the FAMILY VALUES FESTIVAL as a one-time spectacular Saturday, October 5 at the 1st Bank Center in Denver, Colorado with Hollywood Undead, Asking Alexandria, Machine Gun Kelly and Beware of Darkness. The FAMILY VALUES concert lands in the middle of KORN’s special cross-country whirlwind tour of record release “launch dates”–with support from Asking Alexandria and Love And Death–starting in Philadelphia, PA on September 26 and heads west where the band will finish up in Las Vegas on October 12.  Tickets are on sale now for all shows.

THE PARADIGM SHIFT marks the emotional return of co-founding guitarist Brian “Head” Welch for his first album with KORN since 2003‘s Take a Look in the Mirror, and it serves as the follow-up to the band’s 2011 critically acclaimed trend-setting dubstep metal hybrid, The Path of Totality, which debuted Top 10 on the Billboard Top 200 chart and was named Revolver Magazine‘s “Album of the Year.”  THE PARADIGM SHIFT is also KORN’s first time working with super producer Don Gilmore [Linkin Park’s The Hybrid Theory, etc.] who recorded the album with the band at Buck Owens’ studio in their original hometown Bakersfield and at Los Angeles‘ famed NRG Recording Studios.

Since their third studio album in late 2011, the band instigated a major shakeup in their circumstances and with new management, live booking agents and with new record label on board, late 2012 saw them enter the studio with ex Little Angels vocalist Toby Jepson at the production helm. The new record, “New Horizon” will be their fourth studio album and with mixes from rock icon Mike Fraser (AC/DC, Metallica), it will be released on October 1st in North America through label Napalm Records GmbH in multiple formats.

2 Avenged Sevenfold – Hail to the King (2013)

  • September 4, 2013

  • · CD Reviews A-H · Entertainment · Hard Rock Music · Hard Rock News · Hard Rock Videos · Music · Video

AvengedSevenfoldHailToTheKingWow!  I just finished listening and then listening and listening again to the new Avenged Sevenfold album Hail To the King. I wasn’t sure what to expect with the band’s new album. I was sure it would be good, but this album isn’t good, it is outfreakinstanding.

Hail to the King is the first album without Avenged Sevenfold’s drummer Jimmy “The Rev” Sullivan.  “The Rev” was always such a driving force in A7X’s music, I was wondering how the band would handle his tragic loss, and how it would affect their music.  A7X’s music has definitely changed, but it has changed for the better in my opinion.

What A7X has done is change their tempo, and completely move away from their metalcore roots. The band has crafted a bunch of songs that could easily be staples on rock radio everywhere.  The change of tempo doesn’t mean that Synnester Gates and Zacky Vengeance don’t play their asses off.  There is some fine guitar work on this album, and I hear little bits of Megadeth, Metallica and even Guns N’ Roses influence in the music on Hail To the King. Kudos to drummer Arin Ilejay, who does a find job behind the kit on this record.

The first four songs “Shepherd of Fire”, “Hail To The King”, “Doing Time” and “This Means War” really set the stage for this album, by delivering several excellent, hard rockin’ numbers that will have you hooked after the first listen.  While these are my favorites, the great songs don’t end there.

I like the creepiness of “Requiem”.  I look for Damien Omen to show up every time I listen to this one. “Heretic” is one catchy rocker that I would love to see A7X perform live. I love the lyrics on this song.  “Acid Rain” is one of those deep cuts on “Hail To the King” that will keep me spinning this disc for a long time.  I love the haunting piano melodies on this song.

This may be the most mainstream A7X album yet. It is rare when an album exceeds my expectations, but I believe this is Avenged Sevenfold’s best album yet. I thought some fans would be unhappy with A7X’s current direction, but judging from he fact that the album is # 1 in the U.S., Canada and the UK, most A7X fans must think it is pretty cool too!

If you buy one version of the album, get the Deluxe version of the album, which will give you two cool A7X coasters, and a password for a free download of the bonus track “St. James” which is a pretty cool song too!

I won’t be surprised to find “Hail To the King” on top of many best of 2013 lists.  It really is that good!  Check it out!

Sinner 2013

Back to the 80’s! That’s not only the mission behind SINNER’s upcoming album “Touch Of Sin 2” (released on August 30th), so their new video clip “Don’t Believe A Word” takes you back to the times of DeLorean, Indiana Jones, Rambo, video recorders and Miami Vice.

For “Touch Of Sin 2” the band took 11 of their classic tracks from the 80’s (from their long out of print cult albums “Dangerous Charm”, “Touch Of Sin” and “Comin’ Out Fighting”) and did an extensive re-recording. In addition, 3 brand new songs were produced to end up on the record.

anotheryearlostbetterdaysDon’t judge a book by a cover.  That is the first thing I think of when I listen to North Carolina Alt rockers, Another Lost Year.  You see, the winged skull on the cover of Another Lost year’s album Better Days would have me believe that ALY is a metal band. I would not consider ALY’s music metal, but alternative hard rock more in vain of Candlebox, Live and Three Doors Down.  They might be a little heavier than those bands, but when I listen to Better Days, these are the bands that come to mind.

Another Lost Year’s music has grown on me quite a bit over the last few weeks.  There are several songs that could easily be radio singles on this album and two ( “War On The Inside” and “Writing On The Wall”) already have been.

Clinton Cunanan has a pretty solid voice, and his voice help propel my favorite tracks on Better Days including “War On The Inside”, “Broken” and “Runaway”. I don’t like it when they tread into screamo territory, but there is very little of that on this album.

Better Days also features a great duet with singer Lish Rimer on the song “Angels”. This song ought to be a big hit for Another Lost year. Check it out below!

Overall, Better Days is a solid album, and will likely get a lot of mileage on the radio for ALY.  If you check out one new band in 2013, you could do a lot worse than Another Lost Year. Check them out on facebook at this link.

Multi-platinum hard rockers Saliva’s brand new album IN IT TO WIN IT has now been confirmed for a September 3rd North American release date via new label home Rum Bum Records. IN IT TO WIN IT, Saliva’s eight full-length release, was produced by Bobby Huff (known for his songwriting work with Meat Loaf, Halestorm, Drowning Pool, Saliva, Papa Roach, 3 Doors Down and more).

Saliva is an American rock band formed in Memphis, Tennessee in 1996. Saliva self-released their self-titled debut album in August, 1997 after competing in the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences Grammy Showcase competition, where they advanced to the final round in New York City. The album sold 10,000 copies independently, prompting record labels to take notice. Saliva signed with Island Records and went on to release six more albums with the label including the double-platinum certified EVERY SIX SECONDS, the offering which also contained their Grammy-nominated single, “Your Disease.” Saliva has enjoyed widespread success at Rock radio with such hit singles as “Always,” which nabbed the #1 spot on the Modern Rock Chart and climbed to #51 on the Billboard Hot 100.

In late 2012, Saliva signed to Rum Bum Records to begin a new phase of their already impressive career with new lead singer Bobby Amaru on board. 0 New video – Doogie White & La Paz – The Good Old Days

La Paz

British band Doogie White & La Paz returned in May with a new studio album entitled “The Dark and The Light”. And today the band reveal the second track taken from the album. “The Good Old Days” is available below.

The clip contains archive band materials – original video from recording sessions and live sets in the 80s as well as part of the session when this track was recorded in 2012.

Doogie White comments: “The song tells the story and the video shows the story. We’re the best of friends still having a great time doing what we love.”

Scottish vocalist Doogie White came to the attention of the worldwide audience when Ritchie Blackmore asked him to be the lead singer in his reformed Rainbow. They recorded one album together – “Stranger in Us All.” Doogie would go on to sing with Swedish neo-classical guitarist Yngwie Malmsteen for over a six and a half year period, record two albums and tour the world. He also recorded four albums and toured with Cornerstone and is currently the lead singer of the legendary  N.W.O.B.H.M. band – Tank.

La Paz were formed in Lanarkshire, Scotland in the summer of 1984 by Chic McSherry (guitars), Doogie White (vocals) and Alex Carmichael (bass). At the first rehearsal together they hit it off immediately on a personal level – they also liked the same music and they had the same influences and heroes (Purple, Rainbow, Journey, Gary Moore) so they started to recruit other members to try to form a band and go do some gigs. Andy Mason (keyboards) joined the trio and he fitted in from the start, even though he was still at school when he joined. Drummers were always a problem and, over the life of the band, La Paz went through almost as many as Spinal Tap. Unquestionably the loudest and the most accomplished was/is their current drummer, Paul McManus. La Paz played live regularly, sometimes playing up to a hundred gigs in a year. They played the world-famous Marquee Club in London as well as at some festivals in Milton Keynes and they were featured regularly in Kerrang! (Derek Oliver becoming a big fan of the band) and attracted interest from a number of UK and US record companies, finally agreeing terms with one of them for a three album deal. But it was not to be – for reasons which were never explained by the record label the deal fell through at the very last minute. Sadly the band didn’t survive for very long after that. They did their last gig on 15th October 1988 and then Doogie moved to London to join Midnite Blue, Ritchie Blackmore’s Rainbow, Cornerstone, Yngwie Malmsteen and now the mighty Tank. And then legendary DJ Tom Russell of 96.3 Rock Radio called Doogie and asked him if he would do some acoustic numbers at The Garage in Glasgow for Rock Radio’s Birthday Bash in January 2008. Doogie agreed and asked Chic to play guitar. It was a big ask after 20 years: almost 1000 people, Doogie singing alone and Chic with one flamenco guitar! “We had such a blast though and it woke up so many great memories in both of us that we decided to give it a go with the full band for my 50th birthday” said Chic. And so the full band started to rehearse and it was clear that they could still play a bit. The band just gelled: just like old times and the gigs were a terrific success. And so the idea of re-recording some of the favorites from the set that had never had a proper production job was conceived. The final result could be heard on the album “Granite” released in early 2012. It was an album with its roots in the past but its energy in the present. And now the band return with their sophomore album entitled “The Dark and The Light”.Doogie White & La Paz – line-up:

Chic McSherry – Guitar
Alex Carmichael – Bass
Andy Mason – Keyboards
Paul McManus – Drums

Emphatic Another Life

Omaha, Nebraska based hard rockers, Emphatic have announced a September 17th release date for their sophomore album “Another Life” with Epochal Artists Records/Capitol Music Group. The album will be the first to feature new frontman Toryn Green, who was previously the singer of multi-platinum rock band FUEL and the touring vocalist for Finnish cello rock band Apocalyptica.

“This band has seen its share of difficult situations and for me I was the guy that had to decide to give up or fix what was broken. Music is in my blood so giving up isn’t an option,” said guitarist Justin McCain. “After making that decision to continue we found Toryn and he was everything I’ve ever wanted in a frontman. The record is a reflection of the trials and tribulations we went through as a band over the past couple of years.”

Produced by Emphatic guitarist Justin McCain and co-produced by Ryan Greene at Validus Recording Studios in Los Angeles, “Another Life” showcases Emphatic’s newfound sense of maturity and creative firepower as they belt out a powerful dose of groundbreaking hard rock. Rejuvenated creatively, the band is now firing on all cylinders with a line-up that matches the intensity of their songs. “Another Life” is filled with gigantic hooks, powerful melodies and is an inspiring triumph over adversity.

Emphatic are best known for their major label debut album “Damage”, which produced the hit single “Bounce”, and shot the album onto the Billboard Heatseekers charts at #9. The album was produced by Howard Benson (Three Days Grace, Halestorm), and featured A Perfect Circle’s Josh Freese playing drums on the record. From there, the band went on to take part in the Carnival Of Madness Tour alongside hard rock heavyweights Theory of a Deadman, Alter Bridge, Black Stone Cherry, and Adelitas Way.

You can check out Emphatic’s new song “Remember Me” in their new lyric video below.

Heaven&Earth

Heaven & Earth (guitarist Stuart Smith, singer Joe Retta, bassist Chuck Wright, drummer Richie Onori, and keyboardist Arlan Schierbaum) have just released a video for their second single and power ballad, “I Don’t Know What Love Is” from their critically acclaimed album Dig (Quarto Valley Records), which is available on iTunes now. The video — directed by Glen Wexler (Van Halen, Black Sabbath,ig Michael Jackson) and produced by Jeremy Alter and Meiert Avis of Pusher Media (U2, Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, and Evanescence)–was exclusively premiered on www.guitarplayer.com and www.melodicrock.com this past Friday (July 26th).

The video — featuring special guest appearances by actors Angelina Vitale, Derek DuChesne and Tiffany Phillips — continues the story of two lovers trying to connect throughout time. “I Don’t Know What Love Is” is the follow-up to the success of Heaven & Earth‘s first video for “No Money, No Love,” which has received more than 500,000 plays to date and can be viewed below.

Says guitarist Stuart Smith, “I’m very proud of both the song and this new video by Glen Wexler. We released ‘No Money, No Love’ as the first single and video as we wanted to establish ourselves as a rock band that does the occasional ballad, not a ballad band that does the occasional rock song. For me “I Don’t Know What Love Is” was always the main hit from Dig.”

Dallas based hard rock outfit Brand New Machine‘s new album, “The Devil Made Me Do It”, hit stores this week via Epochal Artist Records/Capitol Music Group. To celebrate the album’s release the group are currently streaming the song “Dust The Sky” online at http://altsds.co/0uz5. The group have also announced the addition of drummer Seven Antonopoulos, formerly of Opiate for the Masses, to the Brand New Machine ranks.

“We would like to welcome drummer Seven Antonopoulos to Brand New Machine. Seven is an incredible drummer and his style fits in perfectly with what we do,” said bassist Wiley Oliver. “It’s hard to compare us to other rock acts today because a lot of rock albums all sound the same. So many bands come and go chasing trends, but we’ve never jumped on any bandwagons. This music is a lifestyle and we wear it like a badge.”

Brand New Machine‘s new album, “The Devil Made Me Do It”, was recorded at Validus Recording Studios in Los Angeles, CA under the watchful eye of producer/mixer Ryan Greene (Alice Cooper, Cheap Trick). The album takes the band’s hard-living lifestyle and mixes it with arena ready rock anthems to create a soundtrack for debauchery. Brand New Machine’s explosive live show has earned them countless opening slots for national acts including recent overseas dates with Guns N’ Roses. Brand New Machine‘s video for the song “Girls Like You” can be seen below.

0 EDEN’S CURSE Announce Their New Line Up & Present First Snippet of Upcoming Single!

  • July 20, 2013
  • by Rob Rockitt
  • · Entertainment · Hard Rock Music · Hard Rock News · Hard Rock Videos · Music · Video

Edenscurse_2013
Ending ten months of speculation after an arduous audition process, the band are proud to announce Serbian vocalist Nikola Mijic as their new front man.

Hailing from Senta, in the North of Serbia, Nikola is a vastly experienced singer despite his tender years. For the past ten years he has been fronting Serbian outfit Alogia and more recently Hungarian Prog Rockers Dreyelands, who released their debut album on Lion Music in 2010. In 2008 he also featured heavily on the Prog Rock project album Expedition Delta.

A happy Nikola said “I’m really honored to be part of the Metal journey of Eden’s Curse with their new upcoming album that is coming out on 4th October and I’m looking forward to rock with you guys”!

Drummer Pete Newdeck commented “For me, when I heard a lot of the auditions, Nik’s was the one that stood out. It stood out mainly because of it’s originality. His voice was strong, it was soulful and he had something different to offer. That’s really why I championed him because I think he could offer something different, change the face of the band and possibly help this band move forward”.

Bassist Paul Logue added “When Nik sent his audition of Evil & Divine that’s when we really began to sit up and take notice and say that this guy was something special. He is the complete package”.

Guitarist Thorsten Koehne enthused “He’s just an amazing talent, one of the most amazing singers I’ve seen in recent times. He’s just so versatile in what he can do and he just fits the band perfect because with Eden’s Curse we’re very diverse, as far as the music, so there’s not just one particular style that we are doing. So we were really looking for a singer that could keep up with that and have a range in his vocals. Nikola is just perfect because he can do so many things, from blues to metal stuff and everything in between”.

Also joining the Eden’s Curse ranks is Welsh keyboard wizard and Powerquest main man Steve Williams who replaces Alessandro Del Vecchio.

Bassist Paul Logue commented “Sadly we we part company with our brother Alessandro on a truly positive note as his career as a mixing engineer and a producer has really taken off, meaning less and less time could be devoted to the Eden’s Curse cause. We will miss him dearly as a friend and a musician and we wish him nothing but the utmost success. We firmly believe he has the talent to go right to the very top! He will always be considered a part of the Eden’s Curse family and is cursed for life”.

Williams, a former member of Dragonforce, commented “It was a real thrill to be asked by Paul and the boys to get involved in Eden’s Curse. I’ve been a fan for a long time, I’ve known the guys a while and it’s great to be here getting myself right cursed I can tell you”!

Bassist Paul Logue further commented “I’ve known Steve for a while and when Ale left he recommended we look at Steve. It was very easy choice for us, as we were already good friends and with Powerquest calling it a day it was a perfect time in both our careers to join forces. Steve is a smashing player and one of life’s true gentlemen. He is an utter joy to have on board and I am genuinely excited to see what we can produce together in the years to come as I am a big fan of his songwriting”.

The band can also confirm that their long awaited fourth album “Symphony Of Sin” will be released by AFM Records on 4th October.
This will be preceded by a digital single “Evil & Divine”, for which the band shot a video for on location at the famous St. Andrews in the Square location in Glasgow, under the direction of Ryan Priddy and his team at Independent Element. More news to follow on that at http://www.edenscurse.com
