To celebrate the release of Crash Love, AFI and Hard Rock Hideout are giving one lucky winner the chance to win a special Crash Love branded guitar. The Epiphone Les Paul Special II features a custom Crash Love logo and is autographed by Davey, Jade, Adam and Hunter!
Crash Love is the eighth studio album from perennial rockers AFI and features the single “Medicate” along with standout tracks “Beautiful Thieves,” “End Transmission,” and “Torch Song.”
AFI has just released a re-edited, higher quality, version of the visually intriguing video for “Medicate.” The Paul Minor directed video which was shot in black, white and a hint of gold captures the first predominantly performance video from the Bay area quartet. The video also showcases Jade Puget’s guitar solo which has been described by lead singer Davey Havok as, “not only my favorite moment in ‘Medicate’… but one of my favorite moments on the record.”
“Medicate” is the first single from AFI’s new album, Crash Love, and is also included on the new Guitar Hero 5 game. Crash Love hit stores last week and is available in stores and through iTunes. For all the latest news from AFI visit www.afireinside.net

CRASH LOVE IN STORES NOW
The Bay Area quartet AFI, who recently released their eighth studio album Crash Love, has just made the video for their single “Medicate” available for free on iTunes. The performance heavy video was directed by Paul Minor who shot in the video in color and changed it to black and white in post production. Once all color was removed, gold was pumped into the video shot by shot creating a glossy, post modern vibe. Fans can download the video for free for one week only on iTunes by visiting http://bit.ly/medicate_video.
“Medicate” was also included on the new Guitar Hero 5 game as well as on the iPhone application Tap Tap Revenge. Crash Love is in stores and on iTunes now. For all the latest news from AFI visit http://www.afireinside.net.
With CRASH LOVE, the forthcoming album from AFI, due out in just twenty days and “Medicate” climbing the radio charts, the band is giving fans a preview of another track off the new record as well as a behind-the-scenes look at the recording process. For the song “I Am Trying Very Hard To Be Here” AFI enlisted the help of their fans for the track’s gang vocals. Staying true to form AFI went to their fans, the backbone of the band, and asked them to submit short videos about themselves for a chance to win a trip to Los Angeles and to sing on one of the songs from CRASH LOVE. Fans heard the call, and they answered and thus the Begin Transmission series was born. Watch as AFI welcomes six fans into the studio to record “I Am Trying Very Hard To Be Here” from CRASH LOVE, in stores September 29.
AFI has also just launched their newly redesigned website, www.AFireInside.net, with gold artwork reflecting the forthcoming release. Fans can now connect with the band via Twitter from the site as well as get the latest news, photos, video, tour dates and more. FIRST SINGLE “MEDICATE” TO PREMIERE 8/25
Davey Havok, Jade Puget, Hunter Burgan and Adam Carson, collectively known as AFI, will release their eighth studio album, CRASH LOVE, September 29th on DGC/Interscope Records. Produced by Joe McGrath (Alkaline Trio, Green Day) and Jacknife Lee (U2, Weezer), CRASH LOVE is possibly AFI’s most focused, direct and ambitious effort to date. “I am so proud of this record. I really believe it’s the best AFI record. It honestly feels like we’ve made our first truly timeless record. We didn’t set out to do that–you can’t set out to do something like that–but it definitely feels like that’s what we’ve achieved: created the album by which we’ll be remembered,” expressed front man Havok. With an album full of standout tracks including “Medicate,” “Veronica Sawyer Smokes,” “End Transmission,” “Beautiful Thieves” and more AFI is poised to do just that, be remembered.
CRASH LOVE, the follow up to platinum albums Sing The Sorrow (2003) and DECEMBERUNDERGROUND (2006), will hit stores September 29th while the first taste of single “Medicate” lands on airwaves and the Internet on August 25th. “Medicate” will be made available for sale digitally on 8/25 and CRASH LOVE will also be available for pre-order on the same day at iTunes.
