NEW TOUR DATES ANNOUNCED
Fresh off the 2011 UPROAR TOUR, Miami-based hard rock group Black Tide has released Al Cielo, a Spanish language EP featuring three songs from their latest DGC/Interscope Records release, Post Mortem. Re-recorded versions of “Let It Out,” “That Fire,” and “Into The Sky” make up the EP as “Déjalo Salir,” “That Fire (Español),” and title track “Al Cielo.” Fans can preview and download the tracks on Black Tide’s Facebook page, or on iTunes now.

Black Tide is currently back home for a bit after wrapping up nearly two months on UPROAR 2011, concluding with a rousing performance at the two day 48 Hours Festival in Las Vegas. The massive active rock tour featured genre heavyweights Avenged Sevenfold, Bullet For My Valentine, Seether, Escape the Fate and more. Fans can check out these pictures from the Chula Vista stop: https://gbcproductions-blacktiderockstarupr.buzznet.com/user/photos/.
Black Tide drummer, Steven Spence, has issued a statement via the band’s official website in the wake of the group’s summer/fall run on UPROAR saying:
“I think I can safely say that Uproar has been the best tour of our career so far,” wrote Spence. “Between the friendships we’ve made, the insane crowds we’ve performed in front of, and the ridiculous after parties we’ve hosted, I’d say that this tour is going to leave a long-lasting impression on our lives. The rest of this new touring cycle is going to have a lot to live up to.”
Black Tide will continue to tour throughout the remainder of 2011 in support of its sophomore release, Post Mortem (DGC/Interscope), with a handful of dates with Pennsylvania rock act, Halestorm, already confirmed to kick off late November.

AT COMCAST THEATRE IN HARTFORD, CT
The Rockstar Energy Drink UPROAR Festival and tour headliners Avenged Sevenfold are working with The Rock 106.9 WCCC in Hartford, CT to raise funds in remembrance of the tenth anniversary of 9/11. To respectfully remember this day and help financially support some great foundations that have assisted firefighters, police officers and their families, the Rockstar Energy Drink UPROAR Festival and Avenged Sevenfold will make a dollar for dollar match of all donations up to $10,000 made through The Rock 106.9 WCCC from now through September 11, 2011. Donations can be made online at www.WCCC.com.
At the September 11 Rockstar Energy Drink UPROAR Festival at Comcast Theatre in Hartford, CT, checks will be presented to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (https://www.firehero.org) and the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund (https://www.nleomf.com).
The United States Congress created the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation to lead a nationwide effort to remember America’s fallen firefighters. Since 1992, the tax-exempt, nonprofit foundation has developed and expanded programs to honor our fallen fire heroes and assist their families and coworkers. Their mission is to honor and remember America’s fallen fire heroes and to provide resources to assist their survivors in rebuilding their lives. They offer support programs for survivors, award scholarships to fire service survivors, help departments deal with line-of-duty deaths, and work to prevent line-of-duty deaths. www.firehero.org
The National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund is dedicated to honoring all of America’s law enforcement heroes–those who continue to serve and protect and those who have died in the line of duty, including the officers who lost their lives on September 11th. That mission is accomplished through the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington, DC, as well as programs such as Officer of the Month, Officer Roll Call and others. Today in the United States, some 900,000 law enforcement officers put their lives on the line for the safety and protection of others. The National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund invites you to learn more about the heroes of American law enforcement and join us in respecting, honoring and remembering them. www.nleomf.com

This marks the second year that the Rockstar Energy Drink UPROAR Festival has joined forces with Child Find of America. “We’re incredibly honored that the Rockstar Energy Drink UPROAR Festival is continuing their partnership with Child Find of America in 2011,” said Mark Delluomo, Director of Operations, Child Find of America, Inc. “Last year’s tour promoted safety and awareness as well as raising over $40,000 which went directly to program costs. All of us at Child Find are very grateful to the producers, bands and fans who so generously contributed. We’re also excited that UPROAR has given us another opportunity to let thousands of rock fans know more about us through their website, programs and press releases. Traffic to Child Find’s website and Facebook cause page spiked over the course of the tour and continues to be vigorous. Many people still don’t realize Child Find not only investigates and resolves cases, but also has programs that work to promote safety and prevent abductions. For example, we’re really proud of the Parent Help and Parent Help for Military Families programs which are designed to help dads and moms parenting apart to problem-solve their challenges – including such issues as visitation, custody and child support. This kind of publicity can change all that.”

0 Burn Halo Sets Release Date For Self-Titled Debut Album, Announces More Tour Dates
Burn Halo, featuring former Eighteen Visions singer/songwriter, will be releasing their self-titled debut March 10 on Rawkhead Records (through Warner Music Group’s Independent Label Group).
The album’s first single, “Dirty Little Girl,” which features a guest appearance by Avenged Sevenfold’s Synyster Gates, is already getting spins on radio stations around the country, and is in regular rotation on Sirius XM Satellite Radio’s “Octane” station. A video for the track was recently shot in at the Slide Bar in Orange County, CA with Nate Weaver (Against Me!, Taking Back Sunday) at the director’s helm, and will hit the TV and Internet airwaves within the coming weeks.
Anyone who was watching the Dallas Cowboys/Baltimore Ravens football game on the NFL Network on Saturday, December 20 might have heard another song from the album, “Our House,” during the broadcast. The track will also be heard during a recap of the college football season for “College Football Now” on the NFL Network, which will air this week and weekend, and will be streamed simultaneously on the station’s website. Fans should check local listings for details.
Never losing momentum after the break-up, Hart landed a label deal with Island/Def Jam and began working almost immediately with songwriter Zac Maloy on what would eventually become BURN HALO’s debut album. Between May and October of 2007, Hart made week-long treks to Tulsa, OK to write and demo with Maloy. “I knew that I wanted a clear-cut rock ‘n’ roll band, which is something I had not had in the past,” Hart says of the music.
“My vision and my brand of rock ‘n’ roll without having to compromise on any of the songs or any of the material. I wanted to make a very straightforward rock album, something that had commercial appeal, but also something that had a classic, vintage mid-‘80s throwback vibe to it.”
Hart recorded the album from October to November of 2007 with Maloy as producer, laying down the tracks with an army of skilled studio musicians, including Nickelback drummer Daniel Adair, former Jane’s Addiction bassist Chris Chaney, guitarist Neil Tiemann (who now tours with “American Idol” winner David Cook), and Avenged Sevenfold’s Synyster Gates (who appears on the “Dirty Little Girl” and “Anejo”).
In the studio, Maloy was particularly helpful in getting the best possible vocal performance out of Hart. As he explains, “I really felt like he was able to grasp what I wanted to do and where I wanted to take this. From a producer standpoint I feel like he really knocked it out of the park. As a vocalist he was able to bring a lot out of me instead of having me go through the motions and just get the part right, emoting a little more than I have in the past. He was really able to pull a lot of character out of my voice.”
“I think this is a real statement album for me,” Hart continues. “Anyone who is familiar with me and my past is going to be able to get this record. They’re going to understand why I made this record and that this is the record I’ve been wanting to make.”
After the album was completed in early 2008, Island/Def Jam elected not to release it, leaving Hart with the tough job of finding a new home for his project. Nothing felt quite right, though, so BURN HALO’s manager Bret Bair formed his own label Rawkhead Rekords and partnered with Warner Music Group to release the record. Hart spent much of 2008 finalizing the line-up of his touring band–which he hopes will help write and record BURN HALO’s next albums–with Aaron Boheler on bass, Joey Sin on lead guitar, Allen Wheeler on rhythm guitar, and Ryan Folden on drums.
BURN HALO’s new ensemble has already been racking up tour dates with bands such as Avenged Sevenfold and their next jaunt will be with Escape The Fate and Black Tide starting February 5 in Pomona, CA. A summer tour is already in the works and should be announced in the coming weeks.

From their mainstage stints on OZZfest 2007 and the inaugural Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Tour 2008 alongside Slipknot and Disturbed, to touring with Avenged Sevenfold and Bullet For My Valentine, Black Tide have become vicious road dogs, chomping at the bit to destroy any stage they can. 0 Black Tide Unveils Animated Video Series
Black Tide has just launched their Warriors of Time Animation series. The six part series is explained best by the band themselves, “Our Hero, known as The Bastard, is a living embodiment of metal music. We pit him against a robotic legion whose influence spans all of time and space. The song speaks to the urge in everyone to rage and rock out against all outside expectations. It is a call to arms against a mundane existence, and the Bastard is always there to answer in force, slaughtering the robot conformist authority for the sake of youth, rebellion, and the undying spirit of true metal.” For the first in the epic series, click here.
4 Sights & Sounds From the Mayhem Festival – Black Tide
Last Thursday, I attended the Rockstar Energy Drink, Mayhem Festival in Indianapolis, Indiana. This all day festival hosted several hard rock and metal bands, as well as a Motorcycle stunt show, and several meet & greet sessions, where fans could meet their favorite bands. Their were two side stages where bands played back to back, and the mainstage was used for the headlining acts. This concert was full of crowd surfing, mosh pitting, concert going maniacs. I am not sure what the overall attendance was, but based on the full venue and lawn at the Verizon Wireless Music Center, I would estimate between 15 – 20,000 people.
Black Tide was one of the first side show bands that I checked out. They played a short set with a few tunes off of their new album, Light From Above, as well as a cover of Iron Maiden’s Prowler, that was on the recent Kerrang, Iron Maiden Tribute CD Sampler. Most bands only played a 30 – 40 minute set at maximum, with the exception of the headlining bands. This was somewhat disappointing, but this also gave every band a chance to play.
I was pretty impressed by Black Tide. The guys in this band are 18 – 19 years old. For such a young band, they rock pretty hard!
0 Mayhem Festival Coverage Coming Soon!
Yesterday, I spent the afternoon at the Rockstar Energy drink Mayhem festival in Indianapolis, IN. I caught several bands live, and hope to have the photos and video up on the site soon. I have close to 4 GB of photo and video to go through, so I will put stuff up as time allows.
Some of the bands that I saw yesterday were Black Tide, Five Finger Death Punch, Airbourne, Dragonforce, Disturbed and Slipknot.
More on the way soon!
