0 BUCKCHERRY’s New Album ‘CONFESSIONS’ Enters Billboard Top 200 Album Chart at #20 With Over 18,000 Copies Sold

Buckcherry‘s new Confessions CD has debuted at #20 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart with 18,548 copies sold in its first week of release. The disc also enters both the Billboard Hard Music Album chart and Metal Album chart at #1, and was the best-selling new album of the week. In the digital music realm, Confessions maintained the #1 position on the iTunes Rock Album chart throughout release week. Confessions was released February 19, 2013, is Buckcherry‘s sixth studio album, and is their first U.S. release for Century Media Records.
Buckcherry‘s Josh Todd says, “Confessions is a very personal record, and one of our best — and we want to thank all our loyal fans for going out and supporting rock n’ roll!”
The songs on Confessions merge punk grit, gutter attitude, honest storytelling, and razor sharp hooks, while the lyrics are tied together by the underlying theme of the Seven Deadly Sins.
Buckcherry is currently on the road supporting Kid Rock as special guests on the Rebel Soul tour. To celebrate the release of their new album, the multi-platinum Los Angeles rock band–Josh Todd (vocals), Keith Nelson (guitar), Stevie D. (guitar), Jimmy Ashhurst (bass), Xavier Muriel (drums)–will headline three intimate hometown shows at The Viper Room in West Hollywood on March 7, 8 and 9, between legs of the Kid Rock tour.
Confessions’ first single “Gluttony” continues to build at Active Rock radio, as is evident on the sales front, where the track had its biggest week to date moving 4,831 singles on iTunes. The provocative video for “Gluttony”–directed by Billy Jayne and filmed in a North Hollywood church–can be seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u4tf9Q83ERg.
Buckcherry continues to receive praise for Confessions. Here’s a sample of recent media accolades:
“…Confessions is Buckcherry’s strongest effort to date. Brutally honest, but also steeped in the kind of dirty and hooky riffy songwriting that has made the Los Angeles-based band a favorite among fans of old school hard rock.”
–Chris Epting, AOL Noisecreep.com, February 26, 2013
“Confessions will be recognized as one of the best records of the year…”
–Chris Arnold, HardRockHaven.net, February 19, 2013

0 Buckcherry – Confessions (2013)
Last week, Buckcherry released their sixth album, Confessions. Confessions was originally slated for a 2012 release, and I am glad the band didn’t rush this one out. Good things come to those who wait. You see, not only does Confessions contain some of Buckcherry’s strongest song writing to date, the band’s playing is also a step above their previous releases.
With Confessions, Buckcherry tackles the seven deadly sins. Gluttony, wrath, envy, sloth, greed, pride and lust are all represented on Buckcherry’s latest opus, and are also seven of the album’s song titles. The lyrics are based on singer Josh Todd’s childhood, and his transformation into adulthood. The lyrics are a step above the normal song writing from Buckcherry. Those looking for “Crazy Bitch” part two, won’t find it on Confessions. What you will find however are some well crafted songs that absolutely rock.
This is the first Buckcherry album that I could listen to all the way through since 15 was released. The only negative I could find with this album, is that it lacks the sing along choruses that have made so many of Buckcherry’s songs popular. It may be a different style of writing for Buckcherry, but I couldn’t find one bad song on Confessions.
With that being said, I still think this is Buckcherry’s strongest album since 15, and one that is going to get a ton of replay in 2013 and beyond. If you haven’t picked up Confessions yet, I highly recommend checking it out! The extended edition of this CD ( available at Best Buy) includes two great bonus songs, “Give ‘Em What They Want” and “When the Fire Starts” and a cool DVD as well. Don’t miss this!

0 New Video – Buckcherry – Gluttony

Buckcherry has released a provocative new video for “Gluttony”–the first single from their new Confessions album. The daring clip was directed by Billy Jayne and features the band performing the song in a church filled with people indulging in all types of vices, while the video’s protagonist struggles to overcome his own gluttony.
Check out the clip here:
The multi-platinum Los Angeles rock band will release Confessions February 19, 2013 via Century Media Records and the “Gluttony” single is available for purchase through iTunes now (https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/gluttony-single/id584509774).
Buckcherry vocalist Josh Todd explains the inspiration for the “Gluttony” video: “The concept of the video is excess, consuming everything excessively, and moderation is not even in the equation. I’m very familiar with that, and a lot of guys in the band are familiar with that.”
He continues: “Because the record is called Confessions, we filmed the video in a church, we got Jesus down there–which is killer–and we got a lot of our fans in it, which is amazing. They came out on their own time and really put in a lot of sweat equity, so thank you to them.”
Guitarist Keith Nelson elaborates, “We worked with Billy Jayne, who hasn’t done a lot of music videos. It was really refreshing to see his take on what we’re doing because he totally gets the music, he’s connecting with it, and he’s taking it to a different place than a guy who does videos for a living. We got a guy who actually makes movies and TV shows to put his spin on it and it’s been really positive.”
Buckcherry is currently on the road headlining North American shows and will join Kid Rock as special guests on the upcoming Rebel Soul Tour beginning February 2 in Kansas City, MO. The first leg of the tour runs through March 2 and band has also been added to the second leg of dates for trek which run from March 18 in Sioux Falls, SD through April 6 in Saginaw, MI.
While on tour, Buckcherry is previewing songs from Confessions, the band’s sixth studio album and first U.S. release for Century Media Records. Confessions merges punk grit, gutter attitude, honest storytelling, and razor sharp hooks. The lyrics are tied together by the underlying theme of the Seven Deadly Sins.

0 BUCKCHERRY to Release “Confessions” in Early 2013 on Century Media Records

BUCKCHERRY are proud to announce that their next studio album, Confessions, will be their first domestic release with new label Century Media Records. The album is planned for an early 2013 release on Century Media in the United States and via Eleven Seven Music worldwide, with new tracks to be unveiled in the coming weeks.
“The time has come to finally announce the release of our sixth LP, Confessions,” says Buckcherry frontman Josh Todd. “This is our coolest album yet and I think a lot of people will relate, if you love BC you are going to get a chance to be part of a great story – join the revolution and let’s rock!”
Buckcherry are one of the premier rock bands of the new millennium, having sold more than three million records in America alone and touring virtually non-stop, playing with everyone from AC/DC to Slipknot, touring sold-out arenas alongside Nickelback and KISS, and headlining festivals ranging from the punk rock Ink-N-Iron (also featuring the Misfits and Pennywise) to Sturgis. Radio staples “Lit Up,” “Crazy Bitch” and “Sorry” have cemented the band as one of the most identified and sought-after bands on radio and live circuits, and Confessions is primed to take the band to even greater heights.
“This is, by far, our most ambitious record,” says guitarist Keith Nelson, who co-founded Buckcherry with Todd in 1995 after the duo met in a Los Angeles tattoo shop. “We are very proud of the work we’ve done and we are looking forward to presenting it to our fans.”
Confessions is an album based on the seven deadly sins, and is part of a larger vision that includes a film written by Josh Todd, who based the album’s lyrics on his childhood and transformation into adulthood.
Buckcherry remain on the road throughout 2012, appearing in Japan later this month and returning to the United Kingdom Nov. 20 – Dec. 10.
