Ending ten months of speculation after an arduous audition process, the band are proud to announce Serbian vocalist Nikola Mijic as their new front man.
Hailing from Senta, in the North of Serbia, Nikola is a vastly experienced singer despite his tender years. For the past ten years he has been fronting Serbian outfit Alogia and more recently Hungarian Prog Rockers Dreyelands, who released their debut album on Lion Music in 2010. In 2008 he also featured heavily on the Prog Rock project album Expedition Delta.
A happy Nikola said “I’m really honored to be part of the Metal journey of Eden’s Curse with their new upcoming album that is coming out on 4th October and I’m looking forward to rock with you guys”!
Drummer Pete Newdeck commented “For me, when I heard a lot of the auditions, Nik’s was the one that stood out. It stood out mainly because of it’s originality. His voice was strong, it was soulful and he had something different to offer. That’s really why I championed him because I think he could offer something different, change the face of the band and possibly help this band move forward”.
Bassist Paul Logue added “When Nik sent his audition of Evil & Divine that’s when we really began to sit up and take notice and say that this guy was something special. He is the complete package”.
Guitarist Thorsten Koehne enthused “He’s just an amazing talent, one of the most amazing singers I’ve seen in recent times. He’s just so versatile in what he can do and he just fits the band perfect because with Eden’s Curse we’re very diverse, as far as the music, so there’s not just one particular style that we are doing. So we were really looking for a singer that could keep up with that and have a range in his vocals. Nikola is just perfect because he can do so many things, from blues to metal stuff and everything in between”.
Also joining the Eden’s Curse ranks is Welsh keyboard wizard and Powerquest main man Steve Williams who replaces Alessandro Del Vecchio.
Bassist Paul Logue commented “Sadly we we part company with our brother Alessandro on a truly positive note as his career as a mixing engineer and a producer has really taken off, meaning less and less time could be devoted to the Eden’s Curse cause. We will miss him dearly as a friend and a musician and we wish him nothing but the utmost success. We firmly believe he has the talent to go right to the very top! He will always be considered a part of the Eden’s Curse family and is cursed for life”.
Williams, a former member of Dragonforce, commented “It was a real thrill to be asked by Paul and the boys to get involved in Eden’s Curse. I’ve been a fan for a long time, I’ve known the guys a while and it’s great to be here getting myself right cursed I can tell you”!
Bassist Paul Logue further commented “I’ve known Steve for a while and when Ale left he recommended we look at Steve. It was very easy choice for us, as we were already good friends and with Powerquest calling it a day it was a perfect time in both our careers to join forces. Steve is a smashing player and one of life’s true gentlemen. He is an utter joy to have on board and I am genuinely excited to see what we can produce together in the years to come as I am a big fan of his songwriting”.
The band can also confirm that their long awaited fourth album “Symphony Of Sin” will be released by AFM Records on 4th October.
This will be preceded by a digital single “Evil & Divine”, for which the band shot a video for on location at the famous St. Andrews in the Square location in Glasgow, under the direction of Ryan Priddy and his team at Independent Element. More news to follow on that at http://www.edenscurse.com
Multinational Melodic Metallers EDEN’S CURSE have released the first episode from their fourth album studio video diaries.
Featuring guitarist Thorsten Koehne, drummer Pete Newdeck and bassist Paul Logue, it focuses primarily on the song writing sessions and in particular a new track called “Evil & Divine”.
The new EDEN’S CURSE album, the much anticipated follow up to 2011’s highly acclaimed “Trinity” record, is scheduled for worldwide release via AFM Records towards the end of Summer 2013.
EDEN’S CURSE, the group which is currently nearing the final stages of the writing phase for its as-yet-untitled fourth album – the first to feature new vocalist Marco Sandron (PATHOSRAY, FAIRYLAND) at the microphone – couldn’t hide its delight.
“Signing a new deal with AFM was one of the easiest decisions we have made as band,” quipped bassist Paul Logue. “AFM have been our long term partners since 2007 and have always done a great job for us. We recently sat down together and discussed our future plans and where we saw the band headed and they made it known that they are firmly behind us.”
He added, “Consolidating everything under one roof, as opposed to having several separate deals, made great business sense to us and our management,” Logue said. “I’m sure it means less paperwork for all involved! We will, however, still be working with our long-term Japanese partners, Spiritual Beast. Why fix what ain’t broke?”
Regarding the progress of the songwriting sessions for the next album, Logue said, “It’s going! We are really into the home straight of the writing phase now. We are taking our time to make sure we have the song ideas that does the EDEN’S CURSE name proud and exactly what our fan base would expect from us. We are very excited by the new tunes.”
AFM Records states: “Working with EDEN’S CURSE always was a delight. These guys are really dedicated to what they do and their ambitions, positive attitude and high standards always result in great quality. Since signing with us in 2007, the band has released three fantastic albums. No signs of slowing down — in fact, it’s quite the contrary. But also beside the creative part, we found reliable partners in EDEN’S CURSE. That’s why we are very happy that the previous deal with the band (which was for the European territory only) now has become enhanced to a worldwide deal. We are looking forward to a great fourth album next year, and many more to come hopefully…”
EDEN’S CURSE’s new album is tentatively scheduled for release in the spring of 2013.
Multinational melodic metallers EDEN’S CURSE have posted a 9-minute fan video featuring performance footage from the band’s June 30 appearance at the DOKK’EM Open Air Festival 2012 at Dokkum, Netherlands. Check it out below:
The line-up features: Marco Sandron – Vocals, Thorsten Koehne – Guitars, Paul Logue – Bass, Pete Newdeck – Drums and Alessandro Del Vecchio
EDEN’S CURSE earlier in the year announced the addition of Italian singer Marco Sandron to the group’s ranks. Hailing from Portgruaro, 50 miles from Venice, in the northeast of Italy, Marco previously sang for Italian progressive metal act PATHOSRAY, who released their self-titled debut on Sensory Records in 2007 and their sophomore CD, “Sunless Skies“, on Frontiers Records in 2009. That same year he also contributed lead vocals to French symphonic metal outfit FAIRYLAND’s “Score To A New Beginning” album, which was released on Napalm Records.
“Time To Breathe“, the latest single and promotional video from EDEN’S CURSE, can be seen below. The clip was shot on location at Sky Park in Glasgow with director Simon J. Gillespie of Music Video Scotland.

Written by Paul Logue and Pete Newdeck, “Time To Breathe’s” lyrics are very topical, as Newdeck explains. “The lyrics stem from the current financial crisis grippling society today and the ignorance people have to what we are doing to ourselves and this awesome world we live in,” he says. “We need to buy ourselves time or it will be too late to put it all right.”
Director Simon Jake Gillespie of Music Video Scotland explains the concept behind the video: “As well as capturing the band performance, we wanted to portray the lyrical concept in a visual manner by showing four different people from four different walks of life uniting together to help each other escape from a situation. This symbolizes what we perceive needs to happen in society today to work our way out of the mess we have found ourselves in globally.”
A snippet of the demo version of “Losing My Faith“, a brand new song from EDEN’S CURSE, can be streamed using the SoundCloud player below. The track will appear on the band’s forthcoming fourth studio album, which will be recorded later in the year.

Eden’s Curse head out on tour in the UK & Ireland next month with Finnish Power Metal sensations Stratovarius and Greek Melodic Metallers Firewind.
Sometimes an album is like a punch in the gut to me the very first time I hear it and I have to pick myself up off the floor afterwards. But then other times it takes an album a while before it finally hits me, which was the case with Eden’s Curse “Second Coming”. I love their debut album, I still think it is a pretty amazing album so I was definitely stoked about getting “Second Coming” when it was released. But after getting the album and several listens I was disappointed because it didn’t hit me like their debut, in fact it took almost 4 months before “Second Coming” hit me, but once it did WOW!!! What an amazing album this turned out to be it is filled with excellent well written songs. I already knew vocalist Michael Eden is a phenomenal singer from the debut but he really kicked it up a couple of notches on “Second Coming”. The band which also consist of guitarist Thorsten Koehne, keyboards from Ferdy Doernberg, bassist Paul Logue, and drummer Pete Newdeck are all exceptional musicians but Koehne in particular puts on a guitar playing showcase on this album which is absolutely jaw dropping.
After a short intro titled “Reign of Terror” everything is kicked off by “Masquerade Ball” and right out of the gates there is no holding Koehne back who absolutely blisters this song with his playing along with Newdeck on drums. If there was ever a song to practice your air guitar to or maybe your best metal singer stance while lip syncing with a hair brush this would be the song, absolutely awesome.
“Angels & Demons” follows and it is a duet with Pamela Moore (A.K.A. Sister Mary from Operation: Mindcrime) and it definitely lives up to the album’s pre-release hype. One again there is no holding Koehne or Newdeck back, but truth be told everyone absolutely shines on this song. Eden and Moore are terrific trading lyrics back and forth, I don’t understand how Pamela Moore is not a better known name on her own as she more than holds her own with Eden.
“Just Like Judas” has a heavy thumping groove to it that makes it impossible not to tap your foot along. It also has a great sing a long chorus where Eden’s vocals really shine as once again so does Koehne’s guitar.
“Sail On” is a mid tempo rocker that was my first punch in the gut for “Second Coming”. Awesome song that will have lighters and cell phones around the world lighting up when it is played live. Ferdy Doernberg’s keyboards really set this song off without overpowering it. Definitely my favorite song on this album.
“Lost in Wonderland” was my second punch in the gut and this heavy rocker is another awesome example of the band’s songwriting skills and a great groove from the rhythm section of Newdeck and Logue.
With 13 tracks on this album there is not one song I would consider filler material but some of the other stand out tracks on “Second Coming” are the ballad “Man Against The World”, a mid tempo rockers “West Wind Blows” and “Lost Soul”, and definitely the album’s closer “Ride The Storm”.
I have always heard good things come to those that wait, I am glad I waited for that first punch from Eden’s Curse “Second Coming” it is definitely worth the wait.
When 2009 wraps up this album will be on my best of list and I really wouldn’t be surprised if it was my album of the year. Any hard rock fan out there should have this album in their collection.

The new Eden´s Curse album “The Second Coming” will be released on October, 24, through AFM Records.
Once again production duties were handled by Pink Cream 69 bassist, and producer extraordinaire, Dennis Ward (Angra, Krokus, Silent Force, Allen/Lande) as the band have truly “Upped the Ante” in terms of song writing, performance and production. This is simply going to be a monster of a release that will build upon the success of the self titled debut album.
Many in the industry feel this album alone by itself will now cement the arrival of Eden’s Curse as truly a name to be reckoned with!
Assisting Michael Eden (Vocals), Thorsten Koehne (Guitar), Paul Logue (Bass), Pete Newdeck (Drums) and Ferdy Doernberg (Keys) in creating this huge wall of sound is none other than the voice of TNT, Starbreaker, Westworld and now a solo artist – Tony Harnell who sings backing vocals on the whole album.
Former Rainbow and Yngwie Malmsteen frontman, and current Cornerstone and Empire vocalist Doogie White once again returns to the aid the Curse Choir along with the ever present Carsten Schulz of Evidence One, Midnite Club and Roger Staffelbach’s Angel of Eden fame.
Also featured is vocalist Pamela Moore best known for her performance as Sister Mary on Queensrÿche’s 1988 epic release “Operation: Mindcrime” and 2006’s sequel “Operation: Mindcrime II”, who duets with Michael Eden on the incredible Power Metal Anthem “Angels & Demons”.
