Cherri Bomb’s intimate video series entitled Teenage Rock Diaries keeps rocking with a brand new episode about bassist Rena. In the clip, the girls serenade Bush’s Gavin Rossdale backstage at Soundwave, and also meet childhood idol Marilyn Manson. Rena also talks about what it’s like being in a band with her sister (drummer Nia), saying “we have a certain chemistry between us, and there’s never a dull moment.”

“Hands down one of the best albums of the year”
“…the Finnish symphonic metal band overcomes any restraints with a genuine passion for music…”
“Their talent shines through on every song”
The seventh studio album 7th Symphony from rock Finnish cello-quartet Apocalyptica just debuted. Apocalyptica’s nationwide tour supporting the release kicks off tonight at the Nokia Theatre in New York City, and will wrap up September 13th at the Roseland Theatre in Portland. The band will play an eclectic mix of favorites from past albums as well as brand new tracks including the explosive “End of Me“, which has been steadily climbing the Billboard Active Rock Chart’s Top 20. Cosmos Gaming calls Apocalyptica’s latest “Hands-down one of the best albums of the year” and the Examiner.com raves, “Apocalyptica has an energy and stage presence that makes it hard to turn away from.”
7th Symphony was produced by Joe Barresi (Coheed and Cambria, Queens of the Stone Age, Bad Religion). The album features eight instrumentals plus four headbangers with guest vocals, including the first single and video “End Of Me” with lead vocals by Bush’s Gavin Rossdale. Dave Lombardo (Slayer), Lacey (Flyleaf), Joe Duplantier (Gojira) and Brent Smith (Shinedown) also make cameos on the album. In addition, producer Howard Benson (Three Days Grace, Creed, My Chemical Romance) returns for production duties on two tracks.
The conservatory-trained musicians of Apocalyptica (three of whom are graduates of the prestigious Sibelius Academy in Helsinki) started playing Metallica covers in 1993 and in 1996 they released their critically acclaimed debut Apocalyptica Plays Metallica by Four Cellos. But it was 2007’s Worlds Collide that broke the band into an international phenomenon. The disc sold over 300k albums in the US, one million digital tracks and featured numerous guest stars including Three Days Grace singer Adam Gontier, whose resounding vocals on “I Don’t Care” blasted Apocalyptica through the stratosphere, and to #1 on the Billboard rock chart.

When it comes to symphonic metal, no one has a pedigree like Finland cello-based quartet Apocalyptica. And this summer they’ll demonstrate their abundant skills and dramatic performance flair during a run of North American shows to support their upcoming seventh album 7th Symphony. The tour launches May 21 in Nashville, Tennessee at the WBUZ Hootenanny and runs through July 17 with a headline show at the Buffalo Town Ballroom.
7th Symphony was produced by Joe Barresi (Coheed and Cambria, Queens of the Stone Age, Bad Religion), and is scheduled for release August 24. The album will feature eight instrumentals plus four tracks with guest vocals including the first single “End Of Me” featuring lead vocals by Bush’s Gavin Rossdale. In addition, producer Howard Benson (Three Days Grace, Creed, My Chemical Romance) returns for production duties on two tracks on the forthcoming album.
The disc featured numerous guest stars. Slipknot’s Corey Taylor appeared on “I’m Not Jesus,” Lacuna Coil’s Cristina Scabbia sang on “S.O.S. (Anything But Love)” Rammstein vocalist Till Lindemann performed on a cover of David Bowie and Brian Eno’s “Helden” and Three Days Grace Singer Adam Gontier sang his heart out on “I Don’t Care.” “I Don’t Care” blasted Apocalyptica through the stratosphere, and peaked at number one on the Billboard rock chart. Apocalyptica promoted Worlds Collide with a world tour that included numerous stops in North America.
Now, Apocalyptica are coming back to shake the world again. Don’t be left in the rubble.
