Baltimore, MD bred musician Mike Ruocco has announced details about his new, aptly-titled solo album – THE RISE. THE RIDE. THE RISK., (scheduled to be released independently via iTunes on June 12, 2012).
“THE RISE. THE RIDE. THE RISK. is everything my music represents. The rise – this is beginning of my new career. The ride – a look back, reflecting on where I’ve been. The risk – this is all me.” says Ruocco.
Mixed by Jeff Juliano (Lifehouse, John Mayer, Dave Matthews), the albums lead single “Too Late” is currently available for purchase via iTunes: http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/too-late-single/id505621850?ign-mpt=uo%3D4.
“Too Late” offers an optimistic message, touching on the tumultuous nature of human relationships and how it’s “not too late to make things right.” Says the singer: “Positivity is a central theme on the album. As I got a little older, my nerves have calmed a bit, and I got tired of hearing all the anger in rock music,” adds the singer. “When I grew up, rock music encompassed a lot of different moods. I wanted to reflect that in my own music.”
To date, Ruocco has collaborated with artists and producers such as Aerosmith Producer/Co-writer Marti Frederiksen, Stacy Jones, Mitch Allan, Holly Knight, Jack Blades, Duff McKagan, Candlebox, Scott Stevens, Vivian Campbell, Mark Holman, The Gracious Few and has achieved Top 25 positioning with the active rock song “Get In Get Out” and a Top 40 active rock track with “Should’ve Known Better” (both songs from Cinder Road’s album Superhuman).
Ruocco has toured with the likes of Daughtry, Candlebox, Sick Puppies, Hurt, Puddle Of Mudd, Orianthi, RED, Alice Cooper, as well as direct support for the KISS Alive 35 tour in Europe where he spent 2 months in over 30 different countries playing with the Rock icons.
