LEGENDARY THRASHERS ANTHRAX ANNOUNCE NEW SINGER + TWO CLASSIC ALBUMS AVAILABLE ONLINE DEC 18!!
Anthrax is excited and proud to introduce their new singer, Dan Nelson. Nelson is a virtual unknown, having fronted several local bands in the Long Island/New York area in the past. Says drummer Charlie Benante, “Rob [Caggiano] called me and said, ‘I have a singer, you should check him out.’ We gave him a shot, and he floored us.”
After a successful reunion tour with former singer Joey Belladonna in 2006, there were rumors of recording a new album with that lineup. However, talks fell through and the band was left, once again, without a singer. Enter Dan Nelson.
“I was actually looking for a band,” commented Nelson. “Long Island, NY is a pretty dead scene. I was in Unbroken, and through that I met Rob a couple years ago. I had gone through some stuff on a personal side where I took time off from the music. When I got back to the scene, I couldn’t find a band, so I contacted Rob through MySpace and offered my services. We sent music back and forth, got together, and jammed for 10 hours straight. After 10 hours, he said, ‘I think you’d be right for Anthrax.”
“There’s no place else I’d rather be right now,” Nelson said. “It’s a great vibe. I feel great, and I’m ready to go. It’s lit that much more of a fire under me. I’m getting to live the dream, and it feels amazing. I can’t wait for all these people who think Anthrax is done to be proven wrong. The naysayers are gonna be shut down, and the true blue fans are gonna be pleased.”
Guitarist Scott Ian commented on the new singer saying, “It feels great working with Dan. The first time we jammed, we ran through a bunch of old songs, songs from the John Bush/Joey Belladonna eras. Right from the first second Dan started “Room For One More” we knew. We said, ‘Now that we’ve got that, let’s work his ass off.”
Anthrax, featuring Nelson on vocals, guitarists Ian and Rob Caggiano, bassist Frankie Bello, and drummer Benante, is currently working on all-new material. “We wrote these songs and they fucking kicked ass,” says Benante. “It was cathartic. We also want to take our time. This record will be under the microscope, more so than the others. We want to make sure it’s 100% perfect.”
Also, two classic Anthrax records – “Sound of White Noise” and “Stomp 442” – are going to be available on iTunes on December 18. They will be expanded editions with bonus tracks, and it’s the first time the records will be released digitally. The online versions of the albums will also include commentary tracks from the band members themselves!
Anthrax has not yet announced a release date for an upcoming album, but the band is in the middle of the writing process, so stay tuned for more updates!! Be sure to check out “Sound of White Noise” and “Stomp 442” on iTunes beginning December 18!!

Clark County coroner spokeswoman Samantha Charles said after toxicology results were received Monday, “The cause is cocaine intoxication.”
Police have said there was no forced entry and no suspicious circumstances when Dubrow was found dead Nov. 25 at his Las Vegas home. He was 52.
Quiet Riot was perhaps best known for its 1983 cover of “Cum on Feel the Noize.” The song, featuring Dubrow’s powerful, gravelly voice, appeared on the band’s album “Metal Health” – which was the first by a metal band to reach No. 1 on the Billboard chart.
DuBrow recorded a solo album in 2004, “In for the Kill,” and the band’s last studio CD, “Rehab,” came out in October 2006.
Lionsgate, the leading independent filmed entertainment studio and Twisted Pictures announced today that many of the top rock musicians were enlisted to record music for the REPO! THE GENETIC OPERA soundtrack. Principal photography for the film was completed last month in Toronto, Canada. The film was produced by Daniel Heffner, Carl Mazzocone, Mark Burg and Oren Koules.
The film was directed by Darren Bousman, a longtime member of the Twisted Pictures and Lionsgate families, having directed the past three installments of the wildly successful SAW franchise, including the recent smash hit SAW IV. Terrence Zdunich and Darren Smith, co-creators of the original New York and Los Angeles stage production upon which the film is based, wrote the film’s screenplay, music and lyrics.
Prior to the shoot, a two-month recording of the film’s soundtrack and score took place at Extasy Studios in Los Angeles. Japanese musician and composer Yoshiki Haysahi (better known simply as Yoshiki) from the legendary rock band X-Japan produced the music together with Joe Bishara. Executive Producer Jonathan McHugh, also served as the music supervisor.
“This is by far the most ambitious and unique project I’ve ever worked on,” raved McHugh. “The amalgamation of musical genres from pop to heavy metal and rap, to name just a few, really blends together to create one of the most diverse soundtracks in movie history and is destined to modernize the ‘rock opera’ in a big way.”
An all-star assemblage of songs will make up the soundtrack. Among the musicians featured are RICHARD PATRICK (FILTER), Steven Perkins (Jane’s Addiction), Clown (Slipknot), RAY LUZIER (ARMY OF ANYONE), Brian Young (David Lee Roth’s band), Richard Fortus (Guns & Roses), Sonny Moore (First to Last), David J (Bauhaus/Love & Rockets), Daniel Ash (Love & Rockets), Blasko (Ozzy Osborne), Tommy Clefetus (Rob Zombie’s band), Melora Creager (Rasputina). Also lending her voice to the soundtrack is the edgy pop star Poe.
“We’ve been fans of many of these bands for a long time and it was a dream come true to assemble such an all-star roster of musicians,” exclaimed Burg and Koules. “They really hit all the right notes in bringing the bizarre fantasy world of the film to life.
“The production’s musically inclined cast (all of the actors performed their own songs) includes: Anthony Head, whom fans will remember from his turn in Buffy the Vampire Slayer including the highly regarded musical episode; Paul Sorvino, a classically trained opera singer in his first movie musical role; Alexa Vega, most recently made her Broadway debut as Penny Pingleton in Hairspray; Paris Hilton, whose debut album Paris was released in 2006 and reached number 6 on the Billboard album chart, along with Bill Moseley, who in addition to his well known horror roles in House of a 1000 Corpses and The Devils Rejects, is also a member of the band Cornbugs with Guns N’ Roses guitar player Buckethead. Rounding out the electrifying cast are internationally renowned recording artist Sarah Brightman in her first ever movie role and performance artist Kevin “Ogre” Ogilvie, best known as the frontman for the experimental industrial band Skinny Puppy.

JOHNNY SOLINGER, lead singer for SKID ROW, and Texas chart topping label Smith Entertainment, have signed a deal to release a solo album of the singers’ own material that will draw more upon his Texas-born country influences like Hank Williams Sr. and Merle Haggard.
2008 sees SKID ROW lead singer Johnny Solinger pursuing something that’s been running through his veins his whole life…country music. On his latest solo material he proclaims…..
“Aside from SKID ROW, I’ve been recording some country tunes as well (hell, I AM from Texas) , and while it might seem odd to have such drastic tastes in music, it seems perfectly natural to me. I’m also excited about joining a team like Smith Entertainment, who’s roster includes Texas legends Willie Nelson and Merle Haggard, and has also helped lead artists like Cross Canadian Ragweed, Pat Green, and Kevin Fowler to national acclaim.
When the Skids aren’t recording or touring I plan to be in a honkytonk somewhere dishin’ out my own brand of Texas country”
Teaming up with some of the greatest players Texas has to offer, guitarist David Grissom (Dixie Chicks, Storyville) bassist Tommy Shannon (Stevie Ray Vaughn Double Trouble) and many more…Johnny Solinger is sure to make a big noise in the country music scene in the years to come. Listen for the first single “Too Well To Go To Work” on Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Louisiana radio early in January 2008, and look for the self titled Johnny Solinger album in stores and on i-tunes by March.
“Too Well To Go To Work” has also been released as a single worldwide on i-tunes by Smith Entertainment and available now.
It’s still two weeks before the official U.S. radio add date, but Welsh metalers BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE are already HOT at U.S. radio with “Scream Aim Fire,” the title track from their upcoming album, out January 29. Check this out:
For next week’s charts, “Scream Aim Fire” is
#1 MOST ADDED at CMJ’s Loud Rock chart
#1 MOST ADDED at FMQB’s Metal Detector chart
#2 MOST ADDED at Radio & Records’ Active Rock chart
#4 MOST ADDED at Radio & Records’ Alternative chart
Music Week, the UK’s record industry major trade magazine, wrote about the track, “Lifted from their brilliant second album, this lead track bears the hallmarks of Metallica in their prime…”
And if that’s not enough, the band is the #2 major label metal band across all of MySpace.
“Scream Aim Fire” is the title track from Bullet For My Valentine’s sophomore release, due out January 29. The band saw their 2006 debut album, “The Poison,” dubbed “One of the finest debut albums in rock history” by a major UK daily, while it sailed past the million sales mark – selling 350,000 in the U.S. alone.
“Scream Aim Fire” was produced by Colin Richardson (Machinehead, Funeral For A Friend) who also produced “The Poison,” and was recorded at Sonic Ranch near El Paso, TX earlier this year. The eleven new songs are, according to frontman Matthew Tuck, “really melodic heavy metal…catchy, hooky choruses and full-on vocals, with the music being very in-your-face and heavy…it’s a lot more up-tempo [than ‘The Poison’], a lot more aggressive.”
The four-piece metal core band from Bridgend, South Wales, UK – Matthew “Matt” Tuck/vocals, Michael “Padge” Paget/Guitar, Michael “Moose” Thomas/drums, and Jason “Jay” James/Bass – are, according to the UK’s Kerrang!, well on their way to “phase two of world domination” with the new disc. For “The Poison,” Bullet For My Valentine graced the covers – at least once – of Kerrang!, Rock Sound, and Metal Hammer. In addition, they won Metal Hammer’s 2006 “Golden God Award” for Best British Band, and the 2006 Kerrang! Award for “Best UK Single” for their track “Tears Don’t Fall.” Here in America, the band was named “British Import of the Year” in Revolver, and “The Poison” generated the hit singles “Tears Don’t Fall” and “All These Things I Hate (Revolve Around Me),” with the video for “All These Things I Hate” going to the #1 spot on MTV2.
Bullet For My Valentine will headline a tour of the UK and Europe starting in late January, and will then head to the U.S. in late February. Details to be announces shortly.

The following announcement was posted on Journey’s website on 12/5/07:
JOURNEY – Neal Schon (guitar), Jonathan Cain (keyboards), Ross Valory (bass), Deen Castronovo (drums) – is proud to introduce fans all over the world to their new lead singer, Arnel Pineda (“pin-eh-da”). He replaces Jeff Scott Soto, who parted ways with the band earlier this year after stepping in for Steve Augeri, who had to leave the band in 2006 for medical reasons.
Arnel hails from Quezon City in the Philippines and has been singing Journey songs – in addition to original material – with his band, The Zoo, for the past couple of years in clubs all over his homeland. Joining the legendary band is a dream come true for him.
“It’s so exciting to sing with one of the best bands in the world. It’ll be a lot of hard work on my part and I’m actually looking forward to the scrutiny I’ll get from the hardcore Journey fans. I know they’ll expect me to sound exactly like ‘the voice’ (Steve Perry), but that will never happen. I know there’s only one Steve Perry in this world.”
When it was time for Journey to look for a new lead singer, the internet came to their rescue. Guitarist Neal Schon wanted someone new to the music business, so he turned to YouTube. After finding Arnel singing ‘Faithfully‘, he knew he had found the perfect frontman.
“I was frustrated about not having a singer,” explains guitarist Neal Schon, “so I went on YouTube for a couple of days and just sat on it for hours. I was starting to think I was never going to find anybody. But then I found The Zoo and I watched a bunch of different video clips that they had posted. After watching the videos over and over again, I had to walk away from the computer and let what I heard sink in because it sounded too good to be true. I thought, ‘he can’t be that good.’ But he is that good, he’s the real deal and so tremendously talented. Arnel doesn’t sound synthetic and he’s not emulating anyone. I tried to get a hold of him through YouTube and I finally heard from him that night, but it took some convincing to get him to believe that it really was me and not an imposter.”
Arnel Pineda picks up the story: “My friend Noel picked up the message on YouTube and told me it was from Neal. I thought it was a hoax so I ignored it. Noel said, ‘what if it really was Neal and he wanted to offer you the chance of a lifetime?’ So I e-mailed Neal back and the rest is history.”
“Arnel brings a soulful and passionate voice to Journey,” continues keyboardist Jonathan Cain. “His personality is very well-suited to our music. He’s a sincere, authentic person with a great smile and a big heart. I think fans are really going to love him. With Arnel’s soaring tenor, Journey returns to our heritage sound.”
Schon agrees, “We feel reborn. I think there’s a lot of chemistry between the five of us. At first we were going to go into the studio and just write 4 songs, but now it’s escalated to a lot of great new and diverse material. The stuff sounds tremendous. Everyone’s so stoked about it. We feel very fortunate to have found Arnel.”
Journey is currently working on a new album with legendary producer Kevin Shirley, which they hope to release by spring/summer 2008. Details will be announced early next year.
Onesidezero has announced they have parted ways with guitarist Levon Sultanian. A statement from the group reads as follows:
“We have decided to part ways with Levon due to creative and personal differences,” says frontman Jasan Radford. “The past 11 years that Levon and I played together were some of the best times and some of the hardest, but as time goes on sometimes things change and you grow apart. He will be missed, but we will continue and I see Onesidezero having a strong and positive 2008. A special thanks to everyone for supporting Onesidezero.”
The band will continue to support their recently released, self-titled, sophomore album with short headlining tour of the West Coast to round out the year, including a spot on 104.7 The Edge’s “Not So Silent Night” show with Atreyu, Five Finger Death Punch and Fair To Midland. Onesidezero will kick off 2008 with a European tour alongside ADEMA and RE:IGNITION.
Onesidezero’s Ulrich Wild (Static-X, Stabbing Westward, Taproot) produced sophomore album was released through Corporate Punishment Records. The album is the long awaited follow-up to the band’s critically acclaimed 2001 debut “Is This Room Getting Smaller”, which saw the group tour with the likes of Incubus, 311, Static-X, and Soul fly. The album’s first single, “My Confession”, has been picking up steam at radio with the track receiving steady rotation on XM Radio’s Squizz channel and Los Angeles based KROQ.

CHAVIS RECORDS recording artist AMERICAN ANGEL have landed the 1 position on Billboard’s Heatseeker (Northeast) chart with the bands latest release VANITY.
Billboard notified CHAVIS RECORDS and vocalist Rocco Fury last evening with the exciting news.
Vocalist Rocco Fury had this to say when notified; “Where is Candid Camera, are you joking with me, is this a hoax? WOW! I am ecstatic and very very happy about this. I knew this was a solid project when we recorded it and I believe whole heartedly in the songs and album. And when we’re all gone, VANITY will still stand on its own.”
VANITY was released in May of this year and remains a strong and consistent seller and continues to gain positive momentum and attention for the band. AMERICAN ANGEL are no strangers to hitting Billboard as they charted in 1990 with their debut release and again in 1993 with EP 92′.
AMERICAN ANGEL will continue to tour in support of VANITY with a few remaining dates in 2007 and then hitting the touring season again in 2008.

Metal Heaven has announced the signing of heralded US melodic metal masters, DRIVER, featuring powerhouse vocalist ROB ROCK and acclaimed guitarist/producer, ROY Z (Halford, Bruce Dickinson). Based out of Los Angeles, CA, DRIVER was one of the top local acts at the height of melodic hard rock in the late 1980’s and issued a widely circulated 5-song cassette EP in 1990 that garnered the band a dedicated worldwide following. The band was ultimately denied by major labels with the emergence of the grunge rock scene that dominated the musical landscape during the early 90’s, yet DRIVER’s cult status as one of the most underrated HR acts of their time held steadfast over the years.
With Metal Heaven stepping in and inking the band to a deal, DRIVER will finally get a chance to release the album they intended to deliver back when. The new CD will feature re-recorded versions of songs that were written by ROY Z and ROB ROCK during the band’s 2-year bi-coastal existence spanning the years 1989 and ’90, including those on the original demo and some new songs as well. Original drummer Reynold “Butch” Carlson will perform and some other special guests including Mat Sinner on bass. Stay tuned for more details and keep your eyes open for a Spring 2008 release!
Recording sessions of the brand new HOUSE OF LORDS album “Come To My Kingdom” have been completed in Florida and mixing stages have started in the hands of Dennis Ward. The new album is a natural progression from “World Upside Down” and was entirely written by the band along with the “5th Lord” Jeff Kent. In the words of James Christian “We really had an amazing time with this new CD. I can’t remember when things flowed so easily in terms of writing and recording. I think when people hear the new record they will be able to tell immediately that this is a band with direction and vision”.
The songs were written from life experiences that cover a range of emotions. But one common thread flows throughout the record and that is finely crafted songs. “Jimi Bell, BJ Zampa and Chris McCarvil and Jeff Kent have been an absolute joy to work with” continues Christian, “They are my brothers and they share the same passion to write and perform Classic Rocks songs that will stand the test of time”. “Come To My Kingdom” is classic House Of Lords with all the trademarks that captured the band so many fans in the early days.

Light of Doom was started in the Spring of 2005 when lead guitarist, Dillon Cahill (age 11) started taking lessons at Experience Studios in Escondido, just North of San Diego, California. Adam Bruck, music teacher and band coach at Experience Studios instructed Dillon for just a few months. Before long, Dillon was playing rock Dillonshows around town with a group comprised of other students from the Adam Bruck and Light of Doomstudio.
During one of these shows, Dillon met another 11-year-old guitar player named Erik Griffin. Erik had never sang lead before, but was asked to cover Iron Maiden’s “Run To The Hills.” The thought was that if Erik screwed it up, no one would “boo” because he was so young. But Erik didn’t sing bad – he was amazing. Many would go so far as to use the term, “Epic.”
About this time, Adam had the idea of organizing young players into dedicated bands, helping them write songs and having them perform shows around town. Some told him it was impossible because of their age. Adam disagreed.
Mitchell His plan was put into action when Adam met 10-year-old guitar player Mitchell Wofford. Mitch was taking guitar lessons and hanging around the studio. Between lessons, Adam started showing him a few basic drum beats. He picked them up instantly and hasn’t put the sticks down since.
Soon after, Dillon, Erik, Mitch and another Experience Studios student were practicing together and began playing small shows around San Diego. No one wanted to play the bass full-time, so the boys switched off playing bass, drums and guitar. Adam “filled in” on bass, but the band needed a permanent player in that position.
As luck would have it (at least for our guys), another band taking lessons at Experience Studios broke up and two of their players started jamming with Dillon, Erik & Mitch. An amazing, Van Halen obsessed, guitar player named Daniel Futcher and a funky, groovy bass player named Lucas Canziani soon became part of the band. Light of Doom was now an official group.
To date, Dillon, Erik, Mitch, Daniel & Lucas have played huge shows all around Southern California. Light of Doom has been seen at the House of Blues in Anaheim and San Diego, the infamous Whiskey A Go-Go in Hollywood, the cutting-edge SOMA in San Diego, and others.
Recently, Light of Doom beat over 2,000 bands in a competition to win a coveted spot on the new Fox TV hit, The Next Great American Band, from the producers of American Idol.

THE BLACK CROWES TO RELEASE
FIRST STUDIO ALBUM OF ALL NEW MATERIAL IN SEVEN YEARS
DUE OUT MARCH 4 ON THEIR OWN SILVER ARROW RECORDS LABEL,
DISTRIBUTED BY MEGAFORCE/SONY RED BMG
BAND TO PERFORM ‘WARPAINT’ IN ITS ENTIRETY ON LIMITED
“ONE NIGHT ONLY” SWING
From the beginning, THE BLACK CROWES have done things their own way. And it’s good to know that some things don’t change.
WARPAINT—the band’s first album of all-new studio material in seven years, due out March 4 worldwide—will be independently released on the band’s own newly formed Silver Arrow Records and distributed through Megaforce/Sony Red BMG. It’s their first studio release since the acclaimed LIONS album in 2001 (on V2).
Produced and mixed by Paul Stacey at Allaire Studios, Woodstock, NY, the album features 11 songs, all of which were written by CHRIS and RICH ROBINSON, except “God’s Got It” by the Reverend Charlie Jackson. The album builds compellingly on the band’s trademark adventurous brew of rock, blues, country, soul and gospel.
WARPAINT marks the recording debut of two new band members—guitarist Luther Dickinson and keyboardist Adam MacDougall–who join CHRIS and RICH and drummer Steve Gorman and bassist Sven Pipien. Dickinson, of North Mississippi Allstars, officially steps in to replace producer/guitarist Paul Stacey, whose position with the band was always intended to be temporary. THE BLACK CROWES are deeply appreciative that Stacey committed his genuine talent and time to the band and their performances for most of 2007.
The album’s complete track listing is: “Goodbye Daughters of the Revolution,” “Walk Believer Walk,” “O, Josephine,” “Evergreen,” “We Who See The Deep,” “Locust Street,” “Movin’ On Down The Line,” “Wounded Bird,” “God’s Got It,” “There’s Gold In Them Hills,” and “Whoa Mule.”
CHRIS says the album’s title signifies “the revolution that could take place in all our souls.”
Meanwhile, for the first time in their 18-year career, THE BLACK CROWES will perform an album of theirs in its entirety. On a special run of “One Night Only” shows beginning on March 4, fans will experience WARPAINT performed in its entirety, after which the band will play songs from their catalog and selected surprises. EXTREME REJOIN FORCES FOR NEW ALBUM AND TOUR IN 2008
EXTREME are set to return in the spring of 2008 with their first album of all new material in 13 years. The band features original members NUNO BETTENCOURT (guitar), GARY CHERONE (vocals) and PAT BADGER (bass), along with new drummer KEVIN FIGUEIREDO.
In the coming weeks, EXTREME will announce their plans for a world tour in 2008 as well as a release date and label for the as yet untitled album, which is being produced by BETTENCOURT, who says: “It will have all the ingredients of an EXTREME record. The music is always Funkier than most rock bands—and born a Bipolar Bastard child of Mr. Zeppelin and Mrs. Beatles.”
The Grammy-nominated EXTREME have released four albums, plus two greatest hits sets—selling over 10 million records worldwide—and completed multiple world tours. They also achieved a 1 hit single, “More Than Words”—from their 1990 multi-platinum album Extreme II: Pornograffitti—on the Billboard Hot 100, which they followed with the Top Five “Hole Hearted.” Although these two acoustic hits brought the band great mainstream success, it overshadowed the band’s trademark sound: a mix of hard rock funk in the spirit and style of their predecessors Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, Queen and Van Halen—fueled by BETTENCOURT’s signature guitar flights and CHERONE’s resonant vocals—and matched with a social consciousness in their lyrics. A career highlight came for EXTREME when Queen’s Brian May asked them to perform at the Freddie Mercury Tribute concert in 1992, which gave the band considerable credibility beyond the hard rock fraternity.
EXTREME have been introduced to a new generation of music fans who are connecting with the band through MySpace as a result of the inclusion of their song “Play With Me” on 2007’s “Guitar Hero” video game. Outside of EXTREME, CHERONE joined Van Halen as lead singer in 1998, co-writing the Van Halen III album and touring the world with them. BETTENCOURT joined up with Jane’s Addiction front man Perry Farrell to form the band Satellite Party and co-produce their album Ultra Payloaded. Satellite Party also consisted of drummer KEVIN FIGUIEREDO, whom was previously in a band with BETTENCOURT called Dramagods.
Through the years, BETTENCOURT and CHERONE have remained close and continued to collaborate on occasion. But what exactly inspired them to rejoin forces as EXTREME?
“Rock and Roll Famine…I know it might sound crazy, but there is a massive shortage of rock and roll on this planet,” says BETTENCOURT. “It’s almost extinct. I mean the true spirit of quality rock and roll—you know, Musicianship, when you would give up every moment of your day to master your instrument and create your own identity and sound so as to respectfully outdo all your past heroes whilst proudly wearing the badge of their influences.”
“Passion,” says BETTENCOURT, is what drives EXTREME. “To do whatever it takes, with integrity, to bring music to the people, not because of fame…but just cause you simply couldn’t wait to share it with them.”
“We realized,” adds BETTENCOURT, “not only are the people starved for rock and roll…So are we. Let’s eat.”
Look for the Boston-based group to perform Saturday, December 1 at the Boston Music Awards at the Orpheum Theatre.

Heaven and Hell Records is proud to oversee the U.S. release of The Ravens Court debut ‘Skeletons in the Closet‘.
The gothic, glam rockers from down under bring a resurrection to seemingly forgotten sounds…Then twist them to become The Ravens Court. Dark with a delirious colorfulness, with a sleazy eloquence. Bizarre and catchy with rude sensuality. The Ravens Court have recreated goth rock into their own vision.
The band offer elements across the board so to appeal to a wide fan base. From the 70’s sleaze glam punk sounds of Alice Cooper, T.Rex, and Iggy Pop to the 80’s gothic glam and even artsy sounds like The Cult, Christian Death, and Bang Tango. With the current renaissance of gothic rock with bands such as HIM and The 69 Eyes, The Ravens Court will be a fine addition to this resurgence of the darker and romantic side of rock.
Skeletons in the Closet will be released in the U.S. soon.
You can check out some of the new tunes at The Ravens Court myspace page.
Dangerous Toys is a band that I always thought would be a good poster child for sleaze rock. I have picked up all of their CD’s over the years and I have never been let down by any one of them. I always know that I will get a disc full of hard driving tunes with great vocals.
On Pissed, Jason McMaster delivers the goods once again, and Paul Lidel sounds like he has been playing in the band forever.
There is a lot to like on this disc, and it does not disappoint. The title track Pissed, is a great up tempo number that need to be cranked up to be appreciated.
Paintrain and The Law Is Mine continues the fun with two great in your face rockers back to back.
Promise The Moon is an excellent ballad and something that you wouldn’t expect to hear from the DT guys.
Strange is a heavy track full of sleaze and head banging goodness. Great Stuff! Loser has an AC/DC type of sound, and a great party rock feel to it.
Hard Luck Champion is one of my favorite tracks on this disc, and should be my theme song.
Screamin’ for More is an upbeat song that has a less heavier feel that the rest of the tracks on Pissed. There are more acoustic guitars on this song but it has a great sound.
Oh Well, So What! is one of those songs that you would love to crank up and play in your office when you are having a bad day. This is the closest thing to giving someone the bird in audible fashion.
Illustrated Man is a cool song that would make a good theme song for Miami Ink. It is a great way to close out Pissed.
Pissed is a great hard rock record all the way through. There are no filler tracks, and it is a fun party rock record that is a great listen. Sadly, Pissed was released right in the middle of the grunge movement, and got very little attention. It is one of those nice gems in my collection that I like to break out from time to time. You can still find this one online quite often for under $10.00. It is worth picking up!
