0 ELEVEN SEVEN MUSIC AND A2IM ANNOUNCE “ELEVEN SEVEN MUSIC PRESENTS THE CONNECTION TOUR” FEATURING PAPA ROACH WITH ESCAPE THE FATE AND OTHERWISE

Eleven Seven Music has partnered with A2IM (American Association of Independent Music) to create the “Eleven Seven Music Presents The Connection Tour.” The tour features Eleven Seven Music roster standouts, the Grammy-nominated, multi-platinum alternative rock band Papa Roach as headliners, with labelmates, the kings of underground rock, Escape The Fate and Century Media’s up-and-coming active rockers, Otherwise. The dates will kick off in Miami at Revolution on Tuesday, April 16th. Please see below for the full itinerary, along with additional Papa Roach tour dates. Click here to check out a preview of the tour. With the purchase of a ticket, fans will receive a free Eleven Seven Music album sampler featuring Papa Roach, Escape The Fate, Drowning Pool, HELLYEAH, The Blackout and one track from Otherwise. Please see below for track listing. The album sampler is also available for purchase on iTunes to those who can’t make it to a show for $6.99. VIP Packages for select dates will also be available starting at 10AM local venue time on Wednesday, February 27th. Visit paparoach.com/events for more details.
A2IM President, Rich Bengloff notes, “One of the true strengths of the independent music label community is that our label members are true brands, whether it be the Blues (Alligator), EDM (Ultra), Metal (Century Media), Reggae (VP), or a leading rock brand like Eleven Seven Music. I applaud Allen Kovac and his team at Eleven Seven Music for creating what we hope will be the first of many independent artist branded tours, in this case for the rock music community and its fans.”
Eleven Seven Music Founder and CEO, Allen Kovac adds, “This is an integrated marketing concept that will make it easier for branded labels to work with promoters to increase ticket sales, especially in markets that don’t have rock or alternative radio stations. The industry needs turnkey marketing opportunities to allow for the best use of new media.”
Tour headliners Papa Roach recently released their sixth studio album (their second for label home Eleven Seven Music), the tour’s namesake, THE CONNECTION. The albumwas produced by rock veteran James Michael (Sixx:A.M., Halestorm) and John Feldmann (Panic at the Disco, The Used, Escape the Fate) and has been receiving critical praise across the board. Revolver declared the album, “a fist-pumping return to form…” Papa Roach has sold upwards of 10 million albums worldwide. The band boasts two Grammy nominations, an MTV VMA nomination, as well as ten Top 10 rock hits, seven Top 10 alternative hits and can claim the Most Played Alternative Song of the Decade (BDS) with their breakthrough single “Last Resort.” Known for their electrifying and explosive live shows, Papa Roach has become the common denominator for some of the most successful rock tours in recent years.
New to the Eleven Seven Music roster, Escape The Fate is set to release their fourth studio album and first for their new label home, UNGRATEFUL on May 14th. Despite giving their lead single and title track away for free for 24 hours on AltPress.com, the track landed on iTunes’ rock singles chart at #2 and sold a staggering 4,500 in the first week – supporting the claim that the band’s quality of music is better than ever. The album was co-produced by John Feldmann (Panic At The Disco, The Used, Papa Roach), guitarist Monte Money and Brandon Saller (Atreyu) and mixed by Josh Wilbur (Lamb Of God, System Of A Down, Chevelle) and is poised to be one of the great standout rock albums of 2013. UNGRATEFUL features an exciting blend of soaring choruses, lyrical intensity and classic elements of alternative rock for which the band has come to be known.
Rounding out the bill are hard rockers Otherwise, who will be touring in support of their Century Media debut album, TRUE LOVE NEVER DIES. Released last year, the album features the breakout single, “Soldiers.” “Soldiers” has sold over 100,000 units to date and was a Top 20 Active Rock radio hit. Their current single, “I Don’t Apologize” is currently Top 15 at Active Rock radio.

Couple that with the undisputed legacy of Alice In Chains, the unforgettable live spectacle of Korn and the hits of Bush, and we’re in store for a truly legendary weekend,” comments Joe Litvag, Executive Producer of Rocklahoma for AEG Live.

The “Catch the Fever” Festival Grounds is a premier destination for a multi-day festival and includes onsite camping with access to restrooms and shower house, a general store for campers, VIP reserved seating, hospitality areas and much more.
Established in 2007 as a classic rock destination festival with the motto “life, liberty and the pursuit of rock,” Rocklahoma was revamped in 2010 as organizers teamed with AEG Live to create an event encompassing a much broader mix of classic, current and up-and-coming rock artists. In 2011, a record-breaking crowd of over 35,000 fans turned out for the festival, which raised over $10,000 for the American Red Cross as part of their tornado relief efforts in nearby Joplin, MO. In 2012, a national television audience was able to experience many Rocklahoma band performances in HD when AXS TV aired live coverage of the festival.
Rocklahoma marks the final event of the 2013 World’s Loudest Month. Created in partnership by AEG Live and Right Arm Entertainment, the World’s Loudest Month features the biggest names in rock music performing in five distinct U.S. concert atmospheres: Welcome To Rockville, Carolina Rebellion, Rockfest, Rock On The Range, and Rocklahoma. In 2012, the World’s Loudest Month featured over 100 artists playing for more than 200,000 rock music fans across the country on five consecutive weekends, confirming that rock music is as vital as ever.
Rocklahoma is proud to be sponsored by Bud Light, Hard Rock (presenting the Hard Rock 2nd Stage), Jägermeister, and Monster Energy.

0 Papa Roach Forced To Withdraw From Rockstar Energy Drink UPROAR Festival; Main Stage Performance Times Extended For Shinedown, Godsmack, Staind & Adelitas Way
ROCKSTAR ENERGY DRINK UPROAR FESTIVAL
MAIN STAGE PERFORMANCE TIMES EXTENDED FOR
SHINEDOWN, GODSMACK, STAIND AND ADELITAS WAY
Papa Roach has been forced to withdraw from the Rockstar Energy Drink UPROAR Festival. Lead singer Jacoby Shaddix has been diagnosed with a nodule on his left vocal cord, and at the advice of his physician he will undergo corrective surgery to remove the nodule and prevent further damage.
“It’s no secret that I’ve been having issues with my voice lately. I was hoping to be able to go out there and kill it on this tour by resting and doing vocal exercises, but my voice has just gone out on me. I hate to let our fans down, but unfortunately surgery is the only way to fix it,” Shaddix said. “The last thing we want to do is give our fans less than 100% every night. We know they’ll understand and we’ll be back better than ever.”
“It was amazing having Papa Roach on the road with us for the first few UPROAR shows. We’re disappointed that they can’t continue for the rest of the tour, but Jacoby’s health is the priority and we wish him a speedy recovery,” says Rockstar Energy Drink UPROAR Festival co-producer John Oakes.
Beginning Friday, August 24, the Rockstar Energy Drink UPROAR Festival main stage schedule will be adjusted to allow longer performances from Shinedown, Godsmack, Staind and Adelitas Way.

0 New Video – Papa Roach – No Matter What
Papa Roach has released a new video for their song “No Matter What”. This is from the band’s 2010 CD, Time For Annihilation! Check it out!
1 Papa Roach – Time For Annihilation….On The Record & On The Road (2010)
On August 31st, Papa Roach released the debut, Time For Annihilation…On The Record and On the Road, for their new label Eleven Seven Records. Ironically, it was the Cruefest that featured bands on Eleven Seven’s roster where I first saw Papa Roach live. I wasn’t a fan of the band before that show, but I definitely was afterwards!
With the new album “Time For Annihilation”, you get nine live cuts, and five new songs. I have never been big on live albums, but I Papa Roach’s biggest songs are well represented here, including some songs off of their last effort, Metamorphosis.
The five new songs, “Burn”, “One Track Mind”, “Kick In the Teeth”, “No Matter What” and “The Enemy” are all great, and are worth the price of admission for this CD, all by themselves. They songs feel like an extension of Metamorphosis which was a pretty cool disc too. To me, the best part of the CD are the live tracks. The live songs do a pretty good job of capturing the energy of Papa Roach live. Their live show is what made me a fan of the band, so I am glad to have these tracks in my collection.
If you are a Papa Roach fan, Time for Annihilation…On the Record & On the Road is a disc that you will want to pick up asap! I have been enjoying this CD, and I think you will too.

3 Rob Rockitt’s Top 13 of 2009
It seems like every year I put together a top list at Hard Rock Hideout, it becomes a harder task. In 2009, there was a crazy amount of excellent releases, and choosing the best ten was a daunting task to say the least. It was too hard to pick ten, so of course, I had to add some additional releases to my top list. The following releases are my top of 2009. All of these are worth picking up, and I wouldn’t hesitate to purchase any of these a second time. Check them out and see what you think!
#13 Shake City – S/T
Eonian Records has released quite a few undiscovered gems in 2009. Their best release of 2009 is easily Shake City. Shake City features the original singer of Warrant, Adam Shore. I don’t know why Adam left Warrant, but the fates should have been kinder to his band Shake City. If this CD would have been released twenty years ago, this disc could have easily gone platinum. It is better than many of the hair metal releases of the late 80’s. It is a crime that this band didn’t get the mainstream success of their peers. If you are a hair metal fan, you need to find this CD now. You wont be disappointed.
#12 Papa Roach – Metamorphosis
Papa Roach started introducing songs from Metamorphosis into their live sets in 2008, and as a result, I was familiar with several of the tunes by the time this CD was released. In my opinion, this is the strongest Papa Roach CD to date, with several hit worthy tunes. A worthy pick up for the modern rock fans out there.
#11 Cheap Trick – The Latest
I must admit that I have never been the biggest Cheap Trick fan over the years, but I can not deny how good their latest CD, The Latest is. While this may not be the most rocking CD of 2009, it does have some fun rockers, and is quality music all the way through. Robin Zander still sounds great after all of these years. This is a must own CD for Cheap Trick fans, all others ought to give it a shot.
#10 Chickenfoot – S/T
This is another CD that I didn’t really know what to expect. Sammy Hagar and Michael Anthony have been playing together in Van Halen for years, but how would this new band work out with Joe Satriani and Chad Smith? Satriani’s playing on this CD is great, and when he does cut loose, he doesn’t over shadow the rest of the band. Overall, Chickenfoot is a supergroup that could have some legs. I hope these guys stick around for a few more releases. Van Halen’s other half still delivers.
#9 The Answer – Everyday Demons
The Answer’s debut CD Rise was one of my favorites of 2007. I had high expectations for their U.S. Debut, Everyday Demons. Luckily, it did not disappoint me in the least. Everyday Demons is powered by Zeppelin influenced rockers “Demon Eyes”, “On and On” “Walkin’ Mat”. The band couldn’t have asked for a bigger tour to be on in 2009. Opening up for AC/DC has gained them a ton of new fans. I can’t wait to see what the band has in store for us next. The only thing I didn’t like about Everyday Demons was cover art.
#8 Steel Panther – Feel the Steel
Steel Panther could be the greatest hair metal parody band of all time. Feel the Steel is packed full of tongue in cheek lyrics that many folks may find offensive. You can’t deny the stellar musicianship of these California rockers. I had the opportunity to see the band play at M3 earlier this year, and they did not disappoint. When is the U.S. Club tour guys?
#7 Charm City Devils – Let’s Rock N’ Roll
Who would have thought that drummer John Allen would front a new kick ass rock and roll band in 2009? I didn’t at all. I have been rockin’ with CCD’s debut CD since its release. This is quality hard rock all the way through. In case you missed it, Charm City Devils had a pretty big year with their opening slot on the 2009 Cruefest. I am still hopeful that they will do a club tour, (and break out some Child Play tunes in their set).
#6 KISS – Sonic Boom
Sonic Boom is the first KISS CD in a long time that I have been able to listen to, all the way through without skipping a song. While I don’t consider this CD their best, it is definitely in their top ten, if not top five CD’s of all time. I didn’t expect this CD to be much. Sonic Boom was one of 2009’s biggest surprises.
#5 Coldspell – Infinite Stargaze
When I first heard the demo tracks from Coldspell in 2008, I about crapped myself. I couldn’t wait to hear Coldspell’s debut CD. I have played this CD over and over again in 2009, and will continue to do so for years to come. This is melodic rock at its finest.
#4 Winger – Karma
Holy Crap?! I get the feeling that Kip Winger and Reb Beach were pissed off when they wrote this record. This is easily the heaviest Winger album to date. Reb Beach unleashes his fury on his six strings, and Karma shines as a result. The songs aren’t all heavy, but they are all top quality. I am hopeful that Kip and company will tour for this album in 2010. Great Stuff, and worthy to be in anyone’s collection.
#3 Black Robot – S/T
Black Robot – I had no expectations when I first heard Black Robot’s self titled effort. I figured any band with former Buckcherry members would probably rock, but I had no idea that I would enjoy this CD as much as I have. “Cocaine” is easily the best cover song I have heard in 2009. Black Robot
gets the nod for best new band of 2009. If you missed this CD when it was released earlier this year, you will have to wait to grab this in 2010. The original pressing is out of print, but Black Robot will be re-releasing this CD next year with bonus tracks !!
#2 Paul Gilbert & Freddie Nelson – United States
United States has been my feelgood CD of 2009. Paul Gilbert’s guitar work is quite impressive, and Freddie Nelson’s mimicry of Freddie Mercury is pretty incredible. Once I started playing this, I couldn’t stop. Absolutely fantastic music!
#1 The Last Vegas – Whatever Gets You Off
The Last Vegas has been rocking hard since 2003, but their 2009 CD, Whatever Gets You Off is easily their breakthrough release. It didn’t hurt that they had a little help from Nikki Sixx, and DJ Ashba who produced this disc. I still don’t understand why this band didn’t get the nod for Cruefest last summer. They seemed tailor made for that festival but the promoters didn’t ask for my advice. Whatever Gets You Off is crazy good. Apologize might be the biggest power ballad of this decade (no I am not kidding). This is another great party CD, and easily my favorite of 2009.

0 Shinedown & Papa Roach Announce Co-Headlining Dates
Today’s Biggest Bands in Rock Combine Their #1 Hits for New Tour
Multi-platinum, 2009 American Music Award nominee Shinedown and multi-platinum, Grammy-nominated Papa Roach announce co-headlining dates. Two of today’s biggest bands in rock, each delivering #1 rock hits this year (Shinedown’s “Second Chance” and “Sound Of Madness” and Papa Roach’s “Lifeline”) will kick off the tour December 5th in Highland Heights, KY. Tickets for Highland Heights, KY, Erie, PA and Binghamton, NY are available now and additional dates go on sale this weekend. To buy, please visit: https://www.shinedown.com.
One of the most successful rock bands of the decade, Shinedown has amassed a staggering record of 10 consecutive top 5 rock radio hits over their 3 studio albums. The Jacksonville, Florida-based band’s latest single, “If You Only Knew,” is already #10 on the Active Rock charts and climbing, with the companion video in rotation at VH1 and Fuse. Last month, Shinedown performed the song on ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” and, later this month, the band will be attending the 2009 American Music Awards, where they’ve been nominated for “Favorite Alternative Rock Artist” alongside Kings Of Leon and Green Day. “If You Only Knew” follows the breakthrough success of “Second Chance,” one of the biggest cross over hits of the year with nearly 2 millions singles sold and going to #1 at Hot AC and top 5 at Top 40 after topping the Alternative, Active and Mainstream Rock charts. Both songs are featured on Shinedown’s current album, “The Sound Of Madness.” Produced by multiple-Grammy Award winner Rob Cavallo, “The Sound Of Madness” debuted at #8 on The Billboard 200 chart upon release last summer and has since been RIAA-certified Gold, spawning 3 consecutive #1 rock singles (“Devour,” “Second Chance” and “Sound Of Madness”).
“We’re really excited to combine forces with Papa Roach on these dates. Just like us, they bring it every night for their fans,” says Shinedown frontman Brent Smith. “I guarantee you this… it’s gonna be LOUD!”
Papa Roach frontman Jacoby Shaddix adds, “We are stoked to be touring with Shinedown, we have a lot of love and respect for them. It’s been a long time coming, be prepared, both bands are going to annihilate the stage.”
Known for their electrifying live shows, Papa Roach have been touring nonstop behind their new album and fifth studio recording, “Metamorphosis,” which debuted at #8 on The Billboard 200 chart earlier this year. Papa Roach is currently on tour with Australian sensation JET and fresh off the heels of their summer tour alongside Nickelback. Shaddix says, “Playing shows every night is what we’re built for. We make a club feel like an arena and we make an arena feel like a club.” Indeed Hit Parader raves, “Papa Roach’s live energy is like a pack of wild horses — unbridled and uncontainable.” “Metamorphosis” has already spawned the hits “Lifeline” and “I Almost Told You That I Loved You,” with “Had Enough” hitting radio now. “Had Enough” and many other songs on “Metamorphosis” address the current social and economic themes prevalent today.
Shinedown will be donating a portion of the proceeds from the tour to the Center for Autism & Related Disabilities (CARD) at the University of Florida College of Medicine – Jacksonville. The hometown center works to educate and empower individuals and families through support, assistance and awareness within the community to optimize the potential of all individuals with autism and related disabilities. For more information about CARD, please visit https://www.shinedown.com.
Launching on this tour, Papa Roach has partnered with WHY (World Hunger Year — https://www.whyhunger.org) to support local and national efforts to end hunger and poverty. The band will be auctioning off special VIP fan experiences via https://www.paparoach.com including meet and greets, an interview with the band, side-stage tickets, soundcheck access and much more — with all proceeds going to WHY. In addition to raising money, Papa Roach will build awareness from the stage along their tour stops and visit local food banks and homeless shelters to lend support. The statistics are staggering: 36.2 million Americans are hungry and every day almost 16,000 children from around the globe die from hunger-related causes. Shaddix explains, “We’re proud to work with World Hunger Year to help those in need. We’ve been fortunate enough to have a voice and we want to use it by giving back. We encourage everyone to help out their local communities.”

0 PAPA ROACH’S METAMORPHOSIS DEBUTS AT NUMBER 8 ON BILLBOARD TOP 200
THEIR ALBUM OF THE DECADE CARRIES AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE
“Lifeline” Smash Alternative and Rock Single
Papa Roach’s album of the decade Metamorphosis debuts at number 8 this week on the Billboard Top 200 Album chart with 44,456 units sold. First week sales of Metamorphosis exceed that of their 2006 The Paramour Sessions which sold 36,742 units – that’s an 18% increase despite a tough economic climate and a sign that demand for the band’s signature brand of rock is only increasing. Released on March 24th on DGC/Interscope Records the album marks the band’s 10 years together and showcases their ever-growing talent as musicians and songwriters with a career that includes seven Top Ten multi-format hits including “Last Resort,” “Forever,” “Getting Away With Murder,” “Scars” and “To Be Loved.”
The first official single from Metamorphosis, “Lifeline,” is currently in the top 5 of both the Alternative and Rock charts (no. 4 and no. 1) in the country with digital sales of the single spiking by 139% with 18,878 sold this week. The video for the single is currently the #1 most played on FUSE and the #1 rock video on MTV2. Directed by Chris Sims (Queens of the Stone Age, Jimmy Eat World), the “Lifeline” video underscores the dire state of the global economy: https://www.imeem.com/paparoach/video/bv_KUO4l/papa-roach-lifeline-music-video/.
Frontman Jacoby Shaddix explains, “While we were writing Metamorphosis in early 2008, the band was very aware of the grave issue of our economy’s downward spiral. It was literally right in front of us in my hometown of Sacramento. Houses left and right were foreclosing with families left on their asses out in the cold, which inspired me to write the lyrics to “Lifeline.” He continues, “Other tracks on the album such as ‘Change or Die,’ ‘Had Enough’ and ‘March Out Of The Darkness’ also tap into the struggles so many people are facing in these difficult economic times.”
Papa Roach is currently on a 47 date tour with Buckcherry and Avenged Sevenfold and will be trekking through Europe in April and back again in June for their first headlining tour in over 2 years before hitting the road with Nickelback this summer starting July 10. 2 Papa Roach, Buckcherry and Avenged Sevenfold – Highland Heights, KY Review
Saving Abel, Papa Roach, Buckcherry, and Aveneged Sevenfold came to the Bank of Kentucky Center, February 23rd, for this brand new arena’s first ever rock show.
Saving Abel seems to be the band I always miss when I attend these multi-band concerts. The start time for this concert was 6:30, which seems damn near impossible for me to make. I missed Saving Abel at another show last year when they opened for Airbourne and Theory of A Deadman.
While I can’t speak of how Saving Abel was, we made it the Bank of Kentucky Center just in time for Papa Roach. Both JT and I agreed that the band sounded better than they did at Cruefest. Papa Roach whipped out a few new songs off of their up and coming CD, “Metamorphisis” including “Lifeline” and “Hollywood Whore”, as well as a bunch of their hits including: “Last Resort”, “Getting Away With Murder”, “Scars”, “To Be Loved”, “Dead Cell and “Between Angels & Insects”. It was a fairly short set, but a very good one. Jacoby Shaddix knows how to get a crowd going, and commands the stage well. During the set, he ran out into the stands to join the fans while singing a song. He did this at Cruefest too, but it is still a cool move on his part, and the fans loved it. Jacoby was one hard person to photograph, as he is constantly moving. He never stands still during Papa Roach’s set. After several blurred atempts at catching a picture of him live, I gave and decided to enjoy the rest of the show.
Buckcherry is the second band from the Cruefest Alumni to take the stage in this show. They were a co-headliner with Avenged Sevenfold for this concert. As a result, they were far better than their appearance last summer with Motley Crue.
Buckcherry had a massive screen behind the drum kit that played random images throughout the whole concert. I thought Josh Todd and company sounded a hell of a lot better during this show as well. Buckcherry performed a set that mostly from their albums “15” and “Black Butterfly” but there were was some of their older tunes in there too. The set list had the following songs in no certain order: “Rescue Me”, “Don’t Go Away”, “Too Drunk”, “Everything”, “Lit Up”and the crowd pleaser “Crazy Bitch”. This version of “Crazy Bitch” was truer to the recorded song. No Billy Squier “Stroke It” mixed in, just the song as it was intended. It was MUCH better this way. I loved every minute of the Buckcherry set, but I must admit that Josh Todd is one vulgar, mo fo. While his antics didn’t bother me, his language and sexual innuendos would not be for the feint of heart, and definitely not for kids. Leave the kiddies at home if your going to see Buckcherry folks! Everyone else, get your ass to the show. Buckcherry is one hell of a good headliner. I thought they were going to be a hard act to follow, but Avenged Sevenfold soon proved me wrong.
The intermission between the Buckcherry and A7X sets was absolutely ridiculous, and the crowd was getting extremely impatient. Tempers were flaring and fights were starting a little too often.
When Avenged Sevenfold took the stage, I can only describe the crowd at this show as chaotic. Crowd surfing, and mosh pits consumed quite a bit of the floor. This was an open floor concert, no assigned seats on the floor, so the crowd was extra rowdy. This was my first time seeing A7X, and I thought they were a lot better than I expected them to be. They had a massive lighting rig, and one of the biggest drum kits I have ever seen at a live event.
Their set list included the following songs: “Critical Acclaim”, “Afterlife”, “The Beast and the Harlot”, “Scream”, “Dear God”, “Bat Country”, “Gunslinger”, “Unholy Confessions” and “Almost Easy”.
As a whole, A7X rocked hard, and the crowd never settled down until the last note was played. I thought the guitar solo of Synnester Gates was a little on the nerdy side. This guy is a pretty talented player, but his solo was somewhat disappointing. Aside from the long wait, and the lackluster guitar solo, Avenged Sevenfold put on a good show.
As a whole, this concert was well worth the money spent. If you get the chance, definitely catch these bands live!
8 Papa Roach – Metamorphosis (Release Year – 2009)
Ever since Papa Roach first leaked music off of Metamorphosis at Cruefest last year, I have been looking forward to their latest release. I have see the band twice in the last year, and have heard “I Almost Told You That I Love You”, “Lifeline” and “Hollywood Whore” in a live setting before this album was released. With this in mind, I already knew that I liked a quarter of the new disc, but have been wondering, like many of you, how the rest of it would stack up.
From my perspective, “Metamorphosis” is easily the best release in the Papa Roach catalog. If there was any doubt that Papa Roach was moving more towards a hard rock direction, “Metamorphosis” makes the point clear and does so quickly. The rap core and nu-metal tendencies of Papa Roach are gone. “Metamorphosis” is a full fledged modern hard rock album, and man oh mercy, does it deliver the goods!
If you aren’t a Papa Roach fan, you better be prepared to turn your FM radio off for a very long time. “Metamorphosis” has several songs that could be radio singles. The three songs I mentioned above are the easy candidates for singles (two of which have already been released, “Hollywood Whore” and “Lifeline”), but there are a bunch more. “Had Enough”, “Live This Down”, “Carry Me”, “Into the Light” and “Nights of Love” could all find their way to the radio as well, if this album is marketed right (and it will be).
Two Cruefest alumni make an appearance on this album. Motley Crue guitarist Mick Mars makes an appearance by playing the guitar solo on “Into the Light”, and James Michael from Sixx A.M. plays the Hammond B3 on “Nights of Love”. “Nights of Love” is quickly becoming my favorite tune on the album. The guitar tone on this song is really cool. It is moody, yet upbeat track that shows how much Papa Roach has matured over the years.
“Metamorphosis” could be the release that sees Papa Roach knock Nickelback off the throne of hard rock. It really is that good! If you became a new fan of Papa Roach at Cruefest last year, buy this CD. You won’t be disappointed.

0 Papa Roach to Release Metamorphisis on March 24th
Papa Roach will release their forthcoming fifth studio album, Metamorphosis on March 24th through DGC/Interscope Records. Co-Produced by Jay Baumgardner and Papa Roach with additional co-production by James Michael on six of the tracks, the new album conjures a vicious, vibrant intensity that is raw, relevant and ready to rock. The multi-platinum selling, Grammy-nominated Northern California quartet is back with their album of the decade.
Papa Roach is Jacoby Shaddix (vocals), Tobin Esperance (bass), Jerry Horton (guitar) and new member (ex-Unwritten Law’s) Tony Palermo (drums). Since bursting onto the scene in 2000, the band has toured the world and churned out Top 10 multi-format Billboard hits including “Last Resort,” “Forever,” “Getting Away With Murder,” “Scars” and “To Be Loved,” three of those on the last release. There is no shortage of classic songs on Metamorphosis either. The album’s first radio single, “Lifeline,” combines an AC/DC-style fret run with an undeniable chorus.
Fans got their first taste of the new songs from the album during their live performances on Crue Fest 2008 and with a free download of the viral video release for the song “Hollywood Whore” which the band released in November 2008 as a gift to long-time fans. The video has had more than a million views.
Metamorphosis captures Papa Roach’s incendiary live energy on record. The album engages a full-on rock n’ roll assault fueled by the band’s punky raw energy, catchy guitar riffs and irrefutable melodies. They have delivered the most entertaining album of their career; it’s the culmination of their devotion to performing live and always giving their fans what they want while staying true to themselves.
Leading up to album release, Papa Roach will embark on a national tour alongside Buckcherry, Avenged Sevenfold and Saving Abel, kicking off on January 28th in Salt Lake City. This follows a half year of non-stop touring in front of 700,000 people that included the main stage on Motley Crue’s Crue Fest and a recent autumn run with Staind and Seether.
“We bring it live,” says Shaddix. “When you come to one of our shows, it’s like the last tribal experience. Playing shows every night is what we’re built for. We make a club feel like an arena and we make an arena feel like a club. We’re going to tour our guts out and bring our music to fans all over the world.”
