ROB ZOMBIE TEAMS WITH ZUUS MEDIA AND CRAVEONLINE FOR ‘THE ZOMBIE HORROR PICTURE SHOW CHALLENGE’

Fans Invited to Create Horror Shorts for Online Filmmaking Contest

Rob Zombie’s ‘Zombie Horror Picture Show’ Concert Film Remains Number One on Billboard Music DVD Chart for Second Week

Rob Zombie’s first concert film, The Zombie Horror Picture Show, released May 19 by Zodiac Swan/T-Boy/UMe, debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Music DVD chart and has retained the chart’s top spot for its second week of release.  Zombie also recently teased out his next feature film project called ‘31.’ To celebrate, Zombie has teamed with ZUUS Media (“ZUUS”) and CraveOnline for a horror filmmaking contest.  Fans of Rob Zombie’s music and films are invited to create three-minute short horror films for the chance to have their entry selected to premiere across ZUUS, CraveOnline and RobZombie.com. For more information about the contest, visit https://zombiehorrorpictureshow.com/.

Available on Blu-ray, DVD and longform digital video, The Zombie Horror Picture Show puts the viewer at the center of the hot and nasty action for a blistering set of 16 Rob Zombie classics, including “Dragula,” “Dead City Radio and the New Gods of Super Town,” “Living Dead Girl,” “More Human Than Human,” and the crushing cover of Grand Funk Railroad’s “We’re An American Band” from the seven-time Grammy® nominee’s Top 10 2013 album, Venomous Rat Regeneration Vendor. Recorded live over two sizzling nights in Texas, the film captures Zombie’s elaborate, multi-media production of mind-blowing SFX, animatronic robots, pyrotechnics, oversized LED screens and state-of-the-art light show combined with his powerhouse band featuring John 5, Piggy D and Ginger Fish.

Since 1997, Rob Zombie has achieved great solo artist success with several multi-platinum and gold albums including Hellbilly Deluxe, The Sinister Urge and Educated Horses. As a rock icon and filmmaker with a unique vision, Zombie has continuously challenged audiences as he stretches the boundaries of his music and films.  Zombie has sold more than fifteen million albums worldwide, and is the only artist to experience unprecedented success in both music and film as the writer/director of six feature films with a worldwide gross totaling more than $150 million. Zombie’s Halloween, released in 2007, earned the No. 1 spot at the box office in its opening weekend.

KORN TOURING IN SUPPORT OF THEIR NEW ALBUM
‘THE PARADIGM SHIFT‘
IN STORES OCTOBER 8, 2013 ON PROSPECT PARK

ROB ZOMBIE TOURING IN SUPPORT OF HIS NEW ALBUM
‘VENOMOUS RAT REGENERATION VENDOR’
AVAILABLE NOW ON ZODIAC SWAN

Heavyweights ROB ZOMBIE and KORN have announced a co-headlining arena tour—the “NIGHT OF THE LIVING DREADS” tour–kicking off Sunday, November 3 in Reno, NV and encompassing 17 dates across the U.S (full itinerary below) before wrapping November 26 in Bethlehem, PA. With both artists known for delivering electrifying performances filled with sonic thunderbolts and dark intensity, fans can expect the roofs to lift off arenas across the country. For a full list of tour dates and ticket links, visit: https://korn.com/events or https://robzombie.com/tour-dates/.

GRAMMY® Award-winning multi-platinum hard rock innovators KORN—Jonathan Davis [Vocals], James “Munky” Shaffer [Guitar], Brian “Head” Welch [Guitar], Reggie “Fieldy” Arvizu [Bass] and Ray Luzier [Drums]–will be touring in support of their 11th studio album, THE PARADIGM SHIFT, due in stores and via digital retailers on October 8 on Prospect Park. The video for the album’s Top 10 Active Rock track “Never Never” premiered on VEVO (9/6) and can be viewed here: https://vevo.ly/UaDV41. The album cover art is below.

A rock icon and auteur filmmaker of unlimited vision, Rob Zombie has continuously challenged audiences as he stretches the boundaries of music, film, and publishing. In April, the seven-time GRAMMY® nominee released his fifth solo album, VENOMOUS RAT REGENERATION VENDOR, on his new Zodiac Swan label through T-Boy Records/UMe. The album debuted at No. 7 on the Billboard 200, and has spawned two Top 10 Active Rock singles, “Dead City Radio and the New Gods of Super Town” and Zombie’s current Top 10 spin on Grand Funk Railroad’s anthemic “We’re An American Band.” The song’s lyric video can be viewed HERE. The album cover art is below.

On his upcoming co-headlining tour with KORN, Zombie notes, “Some of the best times we’ve had on the road have been touring with Korn, so we’re thrilled to be doing it again!” Jonathan Davis adds, “We’ve had a lot of fun touring and playing with Rob Zombie over the years. It’s been a while and those shows were so much fun. We’re really excited about doing it again.”

These tour dates come on the heels of KORN announcing the return of their FAMILY VALUES FESTIVAL–a one–day spectacular taking place Saturday, October 5 at the 1st Bank Center in Denver, Colorado with Hollywood Undead, Asking Alexandria, Machine Gun Kelly and Beware of Darkness–as well as their current cross-country record release “launch dates” tour (with support from Asking Alexandria and Love And Death) taking the band through October 12 when they wrap in Las Vegas.

This fall, Rob Zombie’s Great American Nightmare — the ultimate Halloween music and horror event – will terrify fans every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from October 10 through November 2 at FEARPlex in Pomona, just outside Los Angeles. Zombie will headline the closing night of music performances (November 2) during this bone-chilling experience combining the most advanced haunted house attractions with a not-to-be-missed music festival from top hard rock/metal, rock alternative, EDM, and Latin artists. The music lineup includes:  Eagles Of Death Metal, Goldfinger, 3OH!3, The Used, Ozomatli, Beware Of Darkness, Butcher Babies, Ghost Town, Andrew WK, Motionless In White, Powerman 5000, TSOL, The Dickies, The Vandals, and Wallpaper. Visit www.GreatAmericanNightmare.com for more details.

KORN The Paradigm Shift

THE PARADIGM SHIFT marks the emotional return of co-founding guitarist Brian “Head” Welch for his first album with KORN since 2003‘s Take a Look in the Mirror, and it serves as the follow-up to the band’s 2011 critically acclaimed trend-setting dubstep metal hybrid, The Path of Totality, which debuted Top 10 on the Billboard Top 200 chart and was named Revolver Magazine‘s “Album of the Year.” THE PARADIGM SHIFT is also KORN’s first time working with super producer Don Gilmore [Linkin Park’s The Hybrid Theory, etc.] who recorded the album with the band at Buck Owens’ studio in their original hometown Bakersfield and at Los Angeles‘ famed NRG Recording Studios.

Rob Zombie has sold more than fifteen million albums worldwide and he is the only artist to experience unprecedented success in both music and film as the writer/director of six feature films with a worldwide gross totaling more than $100 million. Prior to VENOMOUS RAT REGENERATION VENDOR, his last solo studio album was the long-awaited HELLBILLY DELUXE 2, which came a decade after its predecessor, HELLBILLY DELUXE, the album that established Zombie as a solo artist after the breakup of multi-platinum group White Zombie. That triple-platinum album also yielded a string of successful radio singles, namely “Dragula,” “Superbeast” and “Living Dead Girl,” which dominated the airwaves.  In April, Zombie released his sixth motion picture, The Lords of Salem, which he wrote, directed and produced in tandem with the producers of the Paranormal Activity franchise, with Anchor Bay Films.

MEGADETH AND ROB ZOMBIE
ANNOUNCE CO-HEADLINING TOUR

TREK KICKS OFF MAY 11; INCLUDES HIGH-PROFILE ROCK FESTIVAL APPEARANCES
AND WRAPS MAY 26 AT ROCKLAHOMA

Metal heavyweights MEGADETH and ROB ZOMBIE have just announced a co-headlining tour guaranteed to raise the temperature on the planet. The trek–which marks the first time the two bands have toured together–kicks off Friday, May 11 in Holmdel, NJ and encompasses high-profile rock festival appearances including Rock On The Range and Rocklahoma, where the tour wraps on Saturday, May 26. A list of confirmed dates is below. For additional information on purchasing tickets, visit www.megadeth.com.

The tour will come on the heels of MEGADETH’s critically acclaimed return of the traveling festival GIGANTOUR, created and curated by frontman DAVE MUSTAINE.  Rave reviews have poured in for the festival, which also features MOTÖRHEAD, VOLBEAT and LACUNA COIL. “The return of Gigantour, a nicely curated package tour of heavy metal bands, is just one more step in a great run underway by Megadeth,” wrote the Boston Globe. “It was a smart and well-paced show, one that illuminated metal’s various angles (1/31/12).”

2011 also marked the release of MEGADETH’s 13th album, the appropriately titled Th1rt3en. Released November 1 on Roadrunner Records, the album debuted #11 on the Billboard Top 200 chart and #1 on the Billboard Hard Rock chart. The album also landed on international charts including Top 10 placements in Argentina, Finland, Korea and Japan. MEGADETH— MUSTAINE, drummer SHAWN DROVER, guitarist CHRIS BRODERICK and bassist DAVID ELLEFSON–also received their tenth Grammy nomination for this project, earning a “Best Hard Rock/Heavy Metal Performance” nomination for their single “Public Enemy #1.” The “Best Hard Rock/Heavy Metal Performance” category was, eerily, category #13.

This will be ROB ZOMBIE’s first concert tour since last summer’s “Hell on Earth” co-headline trek with Slayer.  ZOMBIE spent last fall and winter shooting his sixth feature film, “The Lords of Salem” that he wrote and directed and is making with the producers of the “Paranormal Activity” franchise. With principal photography completed, the film is currently in post-production. Never one to play it safe, ZOMBIE–with guitarist JOHN 5, bassist PIGGY D and GINGER FISH on drum–will bring his legendary stage show out in full force on these dates.

12 Alice Cooper – Welcome 2 My Nightmare (2011)

  • September 12, 2011
  • by Rob Rockitt
  • · CD Reviews A-H · Entertainment · Hard Rock Music · Hard Rock News · Hard Rock Videos · Music · Video

Some things get better with age. With Vincent Furnier aka Alice Cooper (who turned 63 in February) this is truly the case. With Alice Cooper’s latest effort, Welcome 2 My Nightmare, Alice has turned in one of his most creative pieces of work yet.

Producer Bob Ezrin came up with the idea for Alice to do the sequel to Welcome to My Nightmare.  I don’t know if anyone could have guessed what Alice would come up with after that. Alice Cooper brought in several of his old bandmates including Michael Bruce,  Dennis Dunaway, Neal Smith, Steve Hunter, and Dick Wagner, as well as a cast of many others to help create a brand new nightmare, which to my ears is one Alice Cooper’s finest works to date.

Welcome 2 My Nightmare somehow manages to recapture that classic 70’s sound of the original, without sounding dated.  Welcome 2 My Nightmare incorporates the sounds of classic and hard rock, and little bit of disco.  It is hard to compare it to the monsterous album Welcome to My Nightmare, which spawned such great songs like “Cold Ethyl”, “Only Women Bleed” and “Welcome to My Nightmare”. You won’t find Vincent Price (God rest his soul) narratives on Welcome 2 My Nightmare either, but you are going to find a whole bunch of new tunes that you will be sure to love.

There are several songs on Welcome 2 My Nightmare which could easily be worked in to Alice’s live set for years to come.  This album is so strong that he could probably do a tour playing the entire album live.  The album isn’t perfect, but it is pretty close to it.  I could have lived without the  auto tune effect on Alice’s vocals on the opening cut “I Am Made of You”.  Luckily, this is the only song plagued by that ill-used effect. (Note: To all artists and producers of rock music, Auto Tune is NEVER ok to use in rock music; No one wants to hear that crap.)  “I Am Made To You” is a pretty strong opener, and a really good song.  Bob Ezrin should have known better than to use those effects in my opinion.

While Alice Cooper’s previous effort Along Came a Spider was an outstanding effort, it pales in comparison to the creative and enthusiastic offering Welcome 2 My Nightmare from the Alice Cooper and company. There are many classic moments, and too many cool tunes to mention on this CD.  Some of my favorites are the catchy “Caffeine”, to the Vaudeville fun of “Last Man on Earth”, and the cool rocker “I’ll Bit Your Face Off”.  I will be playing this one a ton for years to come.

Voting is now closed, throw away your unused ballots, Welcome 2 My Nightmare will be the easy choice for album of the year in 2011.  Highly Recommended!

The term “Super-Group” describes a band rising out of two of the most creative bands of the past 30 years: YOSO is formed out of TOTO’s brilliant lead vocalist Bobby Kimball and the creative force of former YES members, Tony Kaye and Billy Sherwood, thus equalling the magic of YES with the voice of TOTO. However, YOSO is much more than a combination of two classic rock groups. The band’s debut album “Elements” will debut this Fall in the USA on Frontiers Records. This long awaited release comes with a bonus live CD where the band plays some old and new classics. Their musical blend presents a fascinating combination of the sound of YES (“90125″/”Big Generator” era) and TOTO, with a very interesting and original sound that truly encompasses the styles.

0 Cult Movie-master Rob Zombie to Partner with Paranormal Activity team for next film

In an announcement made today, Haunted Movies partner Jason Blum unveiled plans for the company’s next picture, The Lords of Salem, to be directed by Rob Zombie from a script by Zombie. Set in modern-day Salem, the film involves the demonic return of a 300-year-old coven of witches.

This is the third entry in a new horror slate deal between Haunted Movies and Alliance Films. The first picture to come out of this partnership is Insidious, written and directed by the original Saw team of James Wan and Leigh Whannel, and starring Patrick Wilson and Rose Byrne. Insidious recently premiered in the Midnight Madness section of the Toronto Film Festival on September 14 and immediately was the subject of a bidding war, which was won by Sony Pictures Worldwide, who will handle the release of the film later this year. The second picture is The Bay, helmed by Oscar-winning director Barry Levinson and currently shooting in South Carolina.

Octane, IM Global’s genre arm, is handling international sales on the Haunted Movies slate, including on The Lords of Salem.

Zombie has experienced great commercial success as the writer and director of five feature films, and as one of the defining rock music icons of his generation. He’s been nominated for 7 Grammys and has sold over 15 million albums worldwide. His film credits include the cult smash House of 1000 Corpses (Lionsgate 2003) and its landmark sequel The Devil’s Rejects (Lionsgate 2005), the animated film The Haunted World of El Superbeasto (Film Roman 2009), and the record-breaking blockbuster re-imagining of John Carpenter’s Halloween (Dimension 2007), along with its sequel Halloween 2 (Dimension 2009), which gave new life to the franchise.

Haunted Movies is a partnership between Jason Blum, Steven Schneider, and Oren Peli, the same team behind the box-office phenomenon Paranormal Activity (Paramount 2009) and Paranormal Activity 2 (set for release by Paramount this October).

The Lords of Salem will be produced by Blum, Schneider, and Peli, Zombie, and Zombie’s producing partner Andy Gould. Brian Kavanaugh-Jones of Automatik will executive produce.

Zombie currently is about to embark on a three week tour of debauchery with Alice Cooper on The Halloween Hootenanny Tour with special guests Murderdolls.  The tour kicks off in Los Angeles at the Gibson Amphitheatre on Thursday, September 30th and will criss-cross the USA with a tour de force of ghoulish s delights for your aural pleasure, giving the fans a show of a lifetime.

1 Horror Rock Fans Rejoice: Rob Zombie and Alice Cooper Reunite For The Halloween Hootenanny Tour Featuring Special Guests Murderdolls

Back by popular demand, masters of the diabolical  Rob Zombie and Alice Cooper will reunite for The Halloween Hootenanny Tour featuring the Gruesome Twosome with special guests (and Zombie labelmates) Murderdolls.  The tour kicks off in Los Angeles at the Gibson Amphitheatre on Thursday, September 30th (please see below for tour dates).  The pair recently shared the stage for a highly-successful, sold-out limited North American run earlier this year and have long been fans of one another, as well as good friends.  The Billings Gazette declared, “Thousands of fans got the show of a lifetime…With elaborate multimedia stage shows and classic fist-pumping anthems, both artists brought much more to the stage than their music…the multi-sensory experience of the show will likely not be forgotten.”  Charlotte’s Creative Loafing stated, “Zombie was a wildman – running around stage, flipping his hair in every way and stomping away to rev the crowd into a frenzy…Two fantastic performances…”  Drummer Joey Jordison will be doing double-duty on the dates, playing drums with Rob Zombie, as well as playing guitar with his own band, special guests Murderdolls.

In other Zombie news, fans will soon get the ultimate interactive experience as their hero is joining forces with Universal Studios Hollywood to create the new 3D maze, “Rob Zombie’s House Of 1000 Corpses: In 3D ZombieVision.” As part of the Halloween Horror Nights event, fans will be treated to a nightmarish world of carnage and chaos Rob Zombie-style based upon Zombie’s cult hit film “House Of 1000 Corpses.”  Vampire buffs also got a treat when the track “What” from Rob Zombie’s latest release HELLBILLY DELUXE 2 appeared in an episode of the smash HBO series “True Blood.”

With more than 15 million albums sold, 7 Grammy nominations, the helming of 5 major motion pictures and dozens of music videos under his belt, Rob Zombie is a force to be reckoned with in today’s entertainment landscape.  Zombie’s unique meld of horror and hard rock has influenced his sound as a musician, and more recently his vision as a director and writer.

Lock up your daughters, because Murderdolls will be embarking on their first tour in over half-a-decade.  The tour arrives just in time for the band’s brand new album WOMEN AND CHILDREN LAST, which hits stores on August 31st and is also their first release in eight years.  Joey Jordison and frontman Wednesday 13 will show no signs of road rust, as they dive back onto the stage, cranking out their ghoulishly glammy punk rock.  Jordison plays guitar in Murderdolls, so he will most certainly be firing on all cylinders on this tour. The Murderdolls played a pair of much ballyhooed shows in Los Angeles in June; the shows incited so much interest that fans were calling the venues from all over the globe, clamoring for more information and details the moment the shows were announced.  While the ‘Dolls have already invaded the UK – where they can sell out 5,000-capacity venues – they’ve got the US in their sights on The Gruesome Tour. Consider this fair warning!

4 Rob Zombie – Hellbilly Deluxe 2 (2010)

  • · CD Reviews Q-Z · Entertainment · Hard Rock Music · Hard Rock News · Music

I have always considered myself a casual Rob Zombie fan. I have enjoyed many (but not all) of his songs in the past. With that being said, I am having a lot of trouble getting into the newest CD, Hellbilly Deluxe 2. After spinning this CD a few times, I found moments of brilliance, incredible guitar work, and a catchy song or two. On the other hand, I found Rob’s over industrialized vocals to be rather bland and noisy.

I have no problem with profanity in rock, but the repeated chorus of “Rock Motherfucker” in the song “Sick Bubblegum” does not work for this rock fan.  I guess I am in a place in my life where I don’t need to hear the profanities over and over again.  I am sure the angst filled teenagers will love it.  I don’t care for it.

I must admit that I found the song “What?” extremely catchy, and I have grown to like this one a lot.

The musicianship on this CD is stellar, and I get a kick out of Rob’s horror filled lyrics. For whatever reason, Rob Zombie’s vocals grate on my nerves on this CD.  People who like Rob’s vocals may find more to like with Hellbilly Deluxe 2, as John 5, and Piggy D do a great job here.

I have tried repeatedly to listen to this CD, and I have struggled with it ever time. For this listener, Hellbilly Deluxe 2 is a macabre mess of distorted mayhem.   The Zombieheads out there will probably love this.  I found it to be above average at best.

2 SLIPKNOT DRUMMER TO JOIN FORCES AND TOUR WITH ROB ZOMBIE THIS SPRING AND SUMMER

  • March 5, 2010
  • by Rob Rockitt
  • · Entertainment · Hard Rock Music · Hard Rock News · Music

SLIPKNOT drummer Joey Jordison will spend the spring and summer of 2010 pounding the skins for new labelmate Rob Zombie, who is embarking on a very busy touring schedule. Zombie said, “Joey is an absolutely crushing drummer and I am thrilled to have him as part of the Zombie family. His amazing skills promise to take the live show to a whole new level of insanity.”
Jordison also commented, saying, “I am honored, proud and excited to announce that I have joined the ranks as the new touring drummer for Rob Zombie. I’ve been a fan of Zombie’s since the beginning. I’ve toured with them and have always wanted to play for them.  When John 5 called me up to ask if I knew any drummers I could recommend,  I said, only half-jokingly, ‘Yeah, me!”
Jordison is universally recognized as not only one of the best drummers in hard rock, but as one of the most talented skinsmen in music, period. He will be sitting behind the kit for several appearances and tours throughout the year, namely the “Gruesome Twosome” tour, which features Zombie along with his longtime pal, Alice Cooper, which begins April 26 in Canada and runs through May 4 in Wyoming. Following that historic tour, Jordison will tour alongside Zombie as part of the 2010 Rock Star Energy Drink Mayhem Festival, which Zombie is co-headlining with Korn. That tour kicks off July 10 in San Bernardino, California and runs through August 14 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
“This show and set-list is mind blowing, and what better way to kick things off than the ‘Gruesome Twosome’ tour with horror-rock legend Alice Cooper,” Jordison said. “I want to thank all the Slipknot fans for their support and the Rob Zombie fans for welcoming me in. The Demonoid Phenomenon is on its way!”
Jordison will make his debut with Zombie at the 2010 Revolver Golden Gods Awards, held on April 8, 2010, at Club Nokia in Los Angeles. Zombie will be closing out the evening’s awards ceremony with what is sure to be a “must see” performance.

1 Horror Rock Icons Rob Zombie and Alice Cooper to Share Stage for the Gruesome Twosome Tour

  • · Hard Rock Music

It’s a bill that fans of horror and hard rock could only dream of until now: Rob Zombie and Alice Cooper sharing the stage for a night of theatrical rock n’ roll madness.  For the first time ever, the “gruesome twosome” will play an exclusive limited run of North American tour dates beginning April 26th at the MTS Center in Winnipeg, MB.  Rob Zombie commented, “The dream or the nightmare comes true!  Me and The Coop have been talking about touring together for the last 15 years and finally the moment is here.  This will be without a doubt a Rock ‘N’ Roll Spooktacular for all the Cool Ghouls.”  Alice Cooper added, “I’m looking forward to theses concerts with Rob.  It’s sort of like Dracula Vs. Frankenstein.  We’re like this generation’s classic monsters.  When we’re not onstage frightening audiences, we’ll be backstage trying to scare each other.”

Following the dates with Alice Cooper, Rob Zombie and longtime bandmates guitarist John 5, bassist Piggy D and drummer Tommy Clufetos will hit the road for an extensive North American trek to co-headline this year’s Mayhem Festival (visit: www.robzombie.com or www.myspace.com/robzombie or please see below for all tour dates).

It’s been a busy year for multi-platinum hard rock artist and filmmaker Rob Zombie.  Zombie’s brand new album HELLBILLY DELUXE 2 just debuted at #8 on the Billboard Top 200 Album chart, marking his second Top Ten debut in 6 months.  The Zombie-helmed Halloween 2 landed at #3 at the box office in August, 2009 and went on to become one of the biggest horror movies of the year, grossing more than $37 million to date.  Zombie will make his television directorial debut with an episode of CBS’ highly-rated show CSI: Miami set to air on Monday, March 1st at 10:00PM, EST.

Alice Cooper, the rock innovator generally credited with pioneering theatrics and bringing stagecraft to the rock idiom, has been a huge influence on successive generations of artists.  On tour with Rob Zombie, he will be performing his Theatre of Death production that he will subsequently take it on the road in North America and Europe throughout 2010.  He is backed in concert by longtime band members Damon Johnson and Keri Kelli (guitars), bassist Chuck Garric, and drummer Jimmy DeGrasso.  Alice is preparing to release a live Theatre of Death DVD, filmed in London late last year, and is currently in pre-production on a new album.

Alice Cooper is the host of Nights with Alice Cooper, produced and distributed by the United Stations Radio Networks.  Alice anchors 30 hours per week of original Classic Rock programming.  Alice’s time slot reaches 1.1 million listeners (12+) each week, and his affiliates have a weekly reach of over 6 million listeners. For more facts, figures, fans, features and fun go to www.nightswithalicecooper.com.

0 Rob Zombie on Rockline Tonight!

From Rockline Radio.com:

Rob Zombie is one of contemporary music’s most notable figures. No, Rob Zombie is one of film and televisions most respected directors. Better pick one, because he certainly can’t be both. No one has been able to stake a claim to be at, or at least near, the top of both prestigious professions at once, they’re too disparate, too distinctly different for one person to excel at both simultaneously. Aren’t they? Apparently not. February 2nd marks the release of the long awaited of “Hellbilly Deluxe 2”, the successor to Zombie’s most successful album to date. We had expected Rob to join us in our Los Angeles area studio as he had been directing an episode of one of television’s most popular crime sagas, the CBS franchise show, “CSI Miami”, but he wrapped early and headed back to his Connecticut haunt (hey, it’s Zombie) to get ready for the launch of the new CD. Also on his agenda is the massive, much talked about Mayhem Festival tour with Korn which kicks off this summer on July 25 in San Bernadino, CA and runs into August. Perhaps there was something prophetic when Zombie, born Robert Cummings, found himself sharing his name with the star of a popular television show at the time, the Bob Cummings show, which later morphed to the more direct name, “Love That Bob”. It’s not as if Zombie were born into success either. One of his early jobs was as a bicycle messenger in the concrete canyons of New York City. If one can survive that, further tasks must seem not nearly as daunting. Rob achieved dual success the old fashioned way, the American way, he worked his tail off, first as the leader of the notorious metal band White Zombie and then as a solo artist. You can learn more about Rob at RobZombie.com and at his MySpace.

If you need an engraved invitation on a silver platter to join Rob on our next show consider this to be a reasonable facsimile because we’re fresh out of silver and our engraver quit years ago. The fact that Zombie is one of the most fascinating characters around should be incentive enough. A quick note about Rob’s directorial skills, it’s one thing to make your own movies as he did with “House of a 1000 Corpses” and “The Devil’s Rejects”, but quite another to be tapped to helm the latest works in the classic “Halloween” franchise, taking on myriad responsibilities as director, writer, producer and in a quite familiar role, music supervisor. In a typically classy move, Zombie first consulted with his friend John Carpenter, creator of the originals to get proper blessings. Instructed to “make it your own”, he did exactly that. Two more films are in pre-production and now Zombie has pierced the veil of mainstream Hollywood with his “CSI Miami” assignment. Fortunately, for those of us who love Zombie’s music the next edition is imminent. There had been some fears he would walk away and focus solely on film, but once again he has surrounded himself with stellar players, led by guitarist extraordinaire John 5.

Join us for the premiere of “Hellbilly Deluxe 2” with the multi-talented Rob Zombie exclusively on our next installment of Rockline! Love that Rob!

MOVES TO ROADRUNNER RECORDS’

LOUD & PROUD IMPRINT TO RELEASE HELLBILLY DELUXE 2 IN EARLY 2010

In a sudden and unexpected move, multi-platinum hard rock artist Rob Zombie has inked has a new worldwide deal with leading rock label Roadrunner Records through its Loud & Proud imprint.

This shocking announcement comes as Zombie exits his former label and of eighteen years, where he sold fifteen million records as a solo artist and with his former band White Zombie.  Zombie’s new album, Hellbilly Deluxe 2, previously set for release on 11/17 will now be released by Roadrunner / Loud & Proud Records in early 2010.

“It certainly wasn’t an easy decision to make after all this time, but it had to be done,” states Zombie. “I love this new record and wanted to surround myself with an excited new group of people who can reignite my enthusiasm for working within a hard rock record label. Roadrunner seems to be the perfect place.”

“Roadrunner is thrilled to be involved with Rob Zombie on a worldwide basis as he is a multiple-threat artist whom we’ve admired for many years,” said Roadrunner president Jonas Nachsin.

Tom Lipsky, founder and president of Loud & Proud echoed Nachsin’s sentiment, “Rob Zombie hits hard on Hellbilly Deluxe 2 and the fans expect nothing less. We are excited about the monster mayhem that he is certain to create!”

The first single from the new album, “What?” recently launched at all rock radio formats and is quickly climbing the charts.  This latest album marks the follow-up to 1998’s triple platinum Hellbilly Deluxe.

The track listing is as follows:
