1 New Rob Zombie Album in November!
Rob Zombie is getting ready for this Friday’s (August 28) release of his fourth movie as a screenwriter and director, “Halloween II”, doing press interviews and attending the premiere on Monday (August 24) in Los Angeles. But Zombie somehow managed to find time in the past year to also make a new record, and told The Pulse of Radio as much as he could about it. “Still figuring out the title,” he said. “The release date is November 10th. It’s a great record. It’s probably my favorite record ever, because for the first time since like the last WHITE ZOMBIE record, I made a record with a band. You know, all my solo records have been real solo records, like, you know, there’s pictures of people on the record but they didn’t play on the record. This has been the same four guys now for four years and it’s all of us really, we really were in a room jamming and making something, and more special things come out that way.”
Zombie’s third solo album, “Educated Horses”, came out in 2006.
Before embarking on a solo career in 1998, Zombie recorded four studio albums with WHITE ZOMBIE.
“Halloween II” is the follow-up to Zombie’s successful 2007 remake of the original 1978 horror classic. His take on “Halloween” earned more than $60 million at the box office, his biggest haul as a filmmaker to date.
His adult-oriented animated movie, “The Haunted World of El Superbeasto”, will hit DVD and cable next month.
1 ROB ZOMBIE’S HALLOWEEN II Soundtrack Features New Recordings
PLUS CLASSIC TRACKS FROM MOTORHEAD, ROD STEWART, 10CC, FOGHAT, SCREAM, THE MC5, VOID, THE MOODY BLUES AND MORE
Following the success of Rob Zombie’s initial reinvention of John Carpenter’s smash cult horror film HALLOWEEN which premiered number one at the box office breaking all Labor Day Weekend 2007 records, comes the sequel, HALLOWEEN II, hitting theatres nationwide on August 28, 2009 from Dimension Films.
With the enormously popular horror movie series back, writer-producer-director Rob Zombie, once again puts his own twisted twist on the soundtrack. Halloween II – Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (Hip-O/UMe), released August 25, 2009, and co-produced by Zombie, manages to bring together dialogue from the film as well as music from Motorhead, The Moody Blues, Scream (sans future member Dave Grohl), Rod Stewart, the MC5 and Foghat, alongside new psychobilly band Captain Clegg and the Night Creatures.
Frightmaster Zombie helmed 2007’s ninth installment in the HALLOWEEN franchise that began in 1978. HALLOWEEN II, which debuts August 28, picks up where HALLOWEEN left off, and focuses on the struggles of Laurie Strode (played by Scout Taylor-Compton) and killer Michael Myers (played by Tyler Mane).
The new recordings on Halloween II – Original Motion Picture Soundtrack include “Transylvania Terror Train” and “Honky Tonk Halloween” from Captain Clegg and the Night Creatures, who appear in the film. The band’s leader, Jesse Dayton, an Austin, Texas-based singer-guitarist who has played with Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, and Willie Nelson, was part of the duo Banjo & Sullivan that performed in Zombie’s 2005 flick The Devil’s Rejects and simultaneously released an album. Similarly, Rob Zombie Presents Captain Clegg And The Night Creatures (Stag/Zombie A Go Go) will be issued August 28.
Also new are “Laurie’s Theme” from John 5 produced by Bob Marlette, (Alice Cooper and Ozzy Osbourne); “Nurse Killa” from score composer Tyler Bates (Watchmen, 300, Halloween, The Devil’s Rejects); and a cover of Nazareth’s 1976 hit “Love Hurts” from singer Nan Vernon, who covered “(Don’t Fear) The Reaper” and “Mr. Sandman” for HALLOWEEN.
The classic tracks range from The Moody Blues’ 1966 psychedelic gem “Nights In White Satin” and 10cc’s cheery 1977 hit “The Things We Do For Love” to Rod Stewart’s 1972 cover of The Temptations’ “(I Know) I’m Losing You,” Foghat’s 1972 take on Willie Dixon’s “I Just Want To Make Love To You” and the MC5 proto-punk masterpiece “Kick Out The Jams,” which was recorded live in Detroit on Devil’s Night/Halloween 1968. The lesser-known vintage tracks hail from the early ‘80s: “Amerarockers” by hardcore punkers Scream, “The Chase Is Better Than The Catch” by metal’s Motorhead and “Time To Die” by hardcore/metal band Void.
Prior to entering the film world, hard rocker Zombie scored a series of multiplatinum albums–1992’s La Sexorcisto, 1995’s Astro-Creep: 2000, and 1998’s Hellbilly Deluxe –as well as platinum with 2001’s The Sinister Urge and 2003’s greatest hits collection Past, Present & Future.
In addition to his recording career, Rob Zombie has written and directed several successful feature films including House of 1000 Corpses, the sequel, The Devil’s Rejects, and is the is the producer, writer and director of the forthcoming animated film The Haunted World of El Superbeasto, based on his comic book series, The Adventures of El Superbeasto.

0 Punisher War Zone Soundtrack (Release Year – 2008)
If you were one of the people that wanted to check out the Punisher War Zone movie, but missed it in the short span that it was at the box office, never fear! The movie will be released on DVD and Blue ray on March 17th.
The soundtrack for this movie is a pretty impressive mix of hard rock and metal. It features the first new Rob Zombie song in quite some time, as well as some great tracks by Slipknot, Slayer, Seether, and Static-X.
I have never been a big fan of movie soundtracks, but I found myself headbanging quite a bit to this disc. Some of the songs are extremely heavy and are not for the feint of heart.
If you haven’t picked up Slipknot’s new CD yet, this soundtrack features their new song “Psychosocial”. This is easily the best song off of their new CD “All Hope is Gone”. To my ears, this one of the coolest new heavy metal tracks to be released in recent years.
Not every song falls in the hard rock & metal genre. “Genesis” from Justice is a pop/dance music tune. “Showdown” from Pendulum falls closer to the techno side of the fence. It has a harder edge to it, which makes it quite listenable. These songs seem like an odd fit amongst so many hard rock and metal acts, but they do sound good when played loudly, and offers a good breaking point amongst the heavier tracks.
I can honestly say that I haven’t listened to Hatebreed or Rammallah before. Hatebreed’s style of metal reminds me a lot of Slipknot. The singer has an extremely coarse voice. The guitars are heavy and the percussion is very good.
Ramallah reminds me of a cross between Rammstein and Nine Inch Nails. It is interesting, but not essential.
If you are a fan of today’s metal acts, you will likely enjoy this soundtrack. To me, the first three songs on this disc are worth the price of admission. This is the only place you will find Rob Zombie’s “War Zone” making this a must own CD. You can listen to Rob Zombie’s War Zone at this link.
Track Listing:
1. War Zone – Rob Zombie
2. Final Six – Slayer
3. Psychosocial – Slipknot
4. Historia Calamitatum – Rise Against
5. Fallen – Seether
6. Bulletproof – Kerli
7. Take Me Away – 7 Days Away
8. The Past Is Proof – Senses Fail
9. Butterfly Wings – Machines Of Loving Grace
10. Genesis – Justice
11. Showdown – Pendulum
12. Refuse/Resist – Hatebreed
13. Lunatic – Static-X
14. Days of Revenge – Ramallah
1 ROB ZOMBIE – “H2” New Movie, New Album and Grammy Nomination
OB ZOMBIE back to Write & Direct “H2,” Sequel To 2007’s Hit Film “HALLOWEEN”
ZOMBIE NOMINATED FOR GRAMMY – BEST HARD ROCK PERFORMANCE “LORDS OF SALEM”
2009 is the year of Zombie as Rob Zombie steps forward to write and direct H2, sequel his box office hit HALLOWEEN in 2007.
Once again, Rob Zombie has been tapped to write and direct “H2,” the sequel to Zombie’s 2007 reinvention of the horror classic “Halloween.” Malek Akkad of Trancas International Films, who also produced 2007’s Halloween with Dimension, will produce the sequel, along with Andy Gould of Spectacle Entertainment Group, Zombie’s long time manager and producing partner. The announcement was made by Bob Weinstein, Co-Chairman of The Weinstein Company.
Dimension’s “Halloween” scored the highest Labor Day weekend opening ever with a record-breaking $30.6 million in its first four days of release and went on to gross nearly $60 million at the domestic box office in 2007.
Zombie’s “H2” will pick up at the exact moment the first movie stopped and follow the aftermath of Michael Myers murderous rampage through the eyes of heroine Laurie Strode.
“H2” will be Zombie’s fifth written and directed feature. Prior to the success of Halloween, Zombie released the critically-acclaimed film “The Devil’s Rejects” (2005), the follow-up to his cult classic “House of 1000 Corpses” (2004). Zombie just wrapped production on his animated feature film “The Haunted World of El Superbeasto” due to be released in 2009. Zombie, also an accomplished recording artist, has sold over fifteen million albums worldwide, making him one of Geffen Records’ top selling and longest running artists.
Bob Weinstein stated: “Following the success of 2007’s ‘Halloween,’ we are thrilled to be back in business with Rob Zombie, bringing a sequel to theatres. The fans have made it clear – and we agree – that they feel the franchise is in great hands with Rob Zombie.”
”I am very excited to be working with Bob Weinstein again and returning to the world of ‘Halloween,’ states Zombie. “The remake laid the groundwork, now it’s time to really take Michael Myers to the next level. I believe we’ve just barely scratched the surface of where we can take this series.“
In the music arena, Zombie has been nominated for a Grammy for Best Hard Rock Performance for Lords of Salem off the Educated Horses album [Geffen Records]. 2009 also brings a new studio album, still un-titled and the White Zombie box set [UMe Records] is out now. Zombie also finished his long time project “The Haunted World of El Superbeasto” a full length cartoon feature whose release date is soon to be announced. 0 Chop Shop Studio For Sale
The home belonging to longtime Rob Zombie producer Scott Humphrey has come on the market at $2,695,000. Without question, one could easily go to the grave without crossing paths with Zombie, so readers might want to envision a heavy metal musician with a horror-slasher film twist and a slice of the demonic — and that’s just his tattoos.
Humphrey, who clearly must like to live at the office, is selling a gated compound in the Hollywood Hills that includes the famous Chop Shop recording studio, which has been graced by the presence of Zombie, Tommy Lee, Ozzy Osbourne and pretty much every other heavy metalist worth his smashed guitar. There’s a screening room, four bedrooms, six bathrooms and a Zen garden and waterfall for those mellower moments. The 4,997-square-foot house has an “overflowing vessel tub” in the master bedroom suite, according to the Multiple Listing Service.
Record producer-mix engineer Humphrey also has worked with Dwight Yoakam, Nine Inch Nails, ‘N Sync and the Cult. He was Zombie’s co-composer for the score of the Zombie film “House of 1000 Corpses.”

0 A Second Helping of Rob Zombie
0 A Rob Zombie Feast of Information For Your Thanksgiving!
This past Tuesday HRH had the privilege to take part in a teleconference with the one and only Rob Zombie. Unlike the one on one interviews we have brought to our readers before, this time we were sitting with such heavyweights as MTV News, Billboard Magazine, AOL, Blabbermouth, and others. For over an hour Rob spent time talking about the various projects he has been working on.
Of course the subject of the upcoming massive 79 song White Zombie box set “Let Sleeping Corpses Lie” was a popular topic. In regards to the box set Rob stated “You know I’ve been trying to put this together for a long time. But I would let everything take precedence over it. A movie or a new record, because I am not big on revisiting the past, I like to move forward all the time. I decided from the get go I would put every single thing that we recorded into the box set. Because for so many years people have been asking, “How do I get the old records?” Because the first chunk of our career never came out on CD. They were just limited edition vinyls that basically nobody has. The box set has every song of every vinyl record, every CD, every soundtrack, every finished recording that we thought was a finished mix. It’s nice to have everything out there for whoever wants it.”
As far as the title of the box set is concerned “It’s pretty self explanatory because I didn’t want everybody to think the box set was the beginning of something new. I wanted everyone to realize it was the end of something. There is really nothing more to be done, there are some crappy demos and other stuff they could release but they’re probably not worth listening to. This is probably the last thing that will come from the band for sure.”
None of the former members of White Zombie were involved in putting the box set together at all and Rob mentioned he hadn’t talked to anyone in the band since their last show together.
When the conversation turned to his still untitled new studio album, Rob said “We are almost finished and will probably be completely finished with the record before Christmas. This is the first time since White Zombie broke up that I actually recorded with a band. It’s the same guys that I have had for a couple of years John 5, Tommy Clufetos, and Piggy D. So the record has got a much more solid vibe and it’s just going to be a much more intricate and interesting record, just due to the fact that there are four people in the room all the time working and contributing. Great things usually come out of situations that we have a great vibe and that’s what’s going on here.” Rob also shared a couple of the song titles with us, those being “Jesus Frankenstein” and a favorite of the band called “Fixed Bubble Gum“. He stated there is no timetable for the album’s release date and there are also no plans as of yet for a tour but being on the road after next summer isn’t out of the question.
In case you didn’t know Rob does have a new single out and available for the masses that song being “War Zone” (Listen to the new single here) which can be found on the Punisher War Zone soundtrack. When talking about the new single “When it comes to doing a song for a movie there’s usually not a lot of time to write something new. But this time I was already in the studio recording. So they gave me a copy of the script so i would know what it was about and I just got in there and cranked it out.” Rob also thinks “War Zone” served as a kick in the ass to getting the album recorded. “We’ve been recording but we really hadn’t finished any songs so that song was a good kick in the ass to actually have to finish a song and it became the domino effect of finishing all the songs for the record.”
Almost anytime you are talking to Rob Zombie at some point in the conversation the subject of movies is going to come up and it was no different this time. When asked what his primary focus was right now Rob stated “It’s 50/50. Which ever one I am doing at that time is the most important thing to me, that’s why I do not try to do them simultaneously. When I am touring that is 100% what I am about and when I am making a movie that is 100% what I am about. But they are both equally important. Rob also said he has been approached several times about producing a sequel to Halloween but nothing is in the works. As far as other movie projects are concerned his long awaited project “The Haunted World of El Superbeasto” is completely finished and he is now trying to figure out when is the best time for it to come out.
When asked about another movie project of his “Tyrannosaurus Rex“. Rob informed us “There is no plan, I haven’t really started it yet. The problem with “Tyrannosaurus Rex” is it was sort of announced way ahead of time unfortunately. So since it was out there I started talking about it a little bit. But that movie has not even started yet so there’s not too much to talk about.”
Like I said earlier the teleconference lasted over an hour but Rob was very gracious with his time and answering all the questions asked of him. From the sound of things Rob Zombie is going to be a very busy man over the next year if not longer.

0 PUNISHER: WAR ZONE SOUNDTRACK FEATURES NEW SINGLE “WAR ZONE” FROM ROB ZOMBIE
LIONSGATE RELEASES PUNISHER: WAR ZONE SOUNDTRACK WITH NEW SINGLE “WAR ZONE” FROM ROB ZOMBIE
Lionsgate is pleased to announce the upcoming soundtrack release to PUNISHER: WAR ZONE, from Marvel Comics’ latest film adaptation of fictional vigilante and deadly antihero Frank Castle. The lethal motion picture soundtrack features a powerful collection of A-list rockers including the first new music in 3 years from Rob Zombie in addition to heart-pounding songs from rock icons such as Seether, Slayer, Slipknot and Rise Against. The fifteen-track album attacks stores on 11/25/08. The film opens nationwide on December 5th, 2008.
The original track “War Zone”, written for and inspired by the film, contains the kind of raw, throttling energy that has made Rob Zombie a platinum selling artist. The song will also serve as the first single from the soundtrack. About his contribution, Rob Zombie said: “I love writing music for films, rather than just throwing them an unwanted B side or remix. This track was written exclusively for Punisher War Zone. A punishing track for a punishing movie.”
The record also features Slayer’s 2008 Grammy winning “Final Six” and current chart-topping singles from Slipknot “Psychosocial” and SeetherFallen”. The beatdown doesn’t stop there, with a broad mix of new and unreleased music that spans every niche of the rock genre, including unreleased songs by premiere punk group Rise Against and emo scenesters Senses Fail. Dan Trapp of Senses Fail had this to say: “We are super excited to be a part of the Punisher legacy… when we heard we were going to be involved, we all threw up in our hands out of excitement.”
Adding to the epic soundscape of PUNISHER: WAR ZONE is one lucky winner from the Lionsgate/Clear Channel “Unsigned Artist Contest” that was hosted last month. The contest attracted over 5,000 bands and millions of listeners. The winner will be announced on 10/24/08 at www.punisherwarzonemusic.com. Lionsgate Music President, Jay Faires adds, “teaming up with Clear Channel has been a phenomenal experience. The response to the Punisher contest has been incredible, and we are absolutely thrilled about introducing one of these talented unsigned bands to the world”

0 Rob Zombie – Zombie Live (Release Year – 2007)
At one point in time, I would not pick up a live disc regardless of the artist. Today however, I love any and all live records that most hard rock artists put out. They capture all the little nuances of the band’s live show. It is like having your own personal concert at your disposal.
The new Rob Zombie Live disc hits stores today, and is a must have record for all of you Zombie fans. The CD was recorded in 2006 on the Educated Horses Tour. This is a pretty tight set and captures Rob Zombie and company well. The disc gives you 18 live tracks with over an hour of live music. The CD Booklet also reveals a link with some cool bonus material.
My only disappointment is that the band didn’t do I’m Your Boogeyman Live, but other than that, this is a pretty strong set list. I haven’t seen Rob Zombie Live, but after hearing this disc, I will certainly be catching him the next time he comes into town.
If this CD doesn’t whet your appetite for the up and coming Rob Zombie / Ozzy Osbourne shows, nothing else will. If you are a Rob Zombie fan, you need to get this!
