‘TIME TRAVELERS & BONFIRES,’ OUT TODAY;
ALBUM STREAMING NOW ON GUITARWORLD.COM‘S “ACOUSTIC NATION”;
HEADLINING “AN EVENING WITH SEVENDUST” TOUR CONTINUES
Sevendust Acoustic
When SEVENDUST–Lajon Witherspoon (vocals), Morgan Rose (drums/vocals), Clint Lowery (guitar/vocals), John Connolly (guitar/vocals) and Vince Hornsby (bass/vocals)—asked their family of fans for suggestions of which songs they should record for a new acoustic album, the response was immediate and enormous.  The result of all that love and support is TIME TRAVELERS & BONFIRES, available everywhere today on the band’s 7Bros. Records, in conjunction with ADA Label Services.

Fans can check out an exclusive full album stream on GuitarWorld.com’s “Acoustic Nation” here:  http://www.guitarworld.com/acoustic-nation-exclusive-stream-sevendust-time-travelers-and-bonfires-premiere.

The band’s current headlining acoustic U.S. tour, “An Evening With SEVENDUST,” launched April 1 in Athens, GA and isn’t stopping anytime soon.   Dates continue through June 26, with more dates to come throughout the summer.

As RockRevoltMagazine.com praised in a live review of opening night:  “Overall, ‘An Evening With SEVENDUST’ is the ultimate showcase of the collective talents of a band that has stood the test of time and continues to deliver poignant, solid and relevant songs.  The level of musicianship was off the charts and I don’t care if you’re a SEVENDUST fan or not, there is no way you can see this show and not appreciate the level of mastery on that stage.  Add the intimate setting, personal stories, reworked classics intertwined with the six new songs from TIME TRAVELERS & BONFIRES and you WILL have an evening that you most assuredly won’t soon forget.”

TIME TRAVELERS & BONFIRES is the follow-up to their ninth studio album, BLACK OUT THE SUN, which debuted at #1 on Billboard’s “Top Hard Music Albums” chart, as well as #18 on the “Top 200 Albums” chart, #4 on the “Record Label Independent Current Albums” chart, #5 on the “Top Current Rock Albums” chart, #14 on the “Overall Digital Albums” chart and #17 on the “Top Internet Albums” chart.

SEVENDUST is already racking up rave reviews.  To wit:

“TIME TRAVELERS & BONFIRES shines with energy throughout the twelve tracks…This is a must have for any SEVENDUST fan of old and the acoustic format potentially opens their music to a wider demographic…just as intense as any of their previous studio releases.”  — RockRevoltMagazine.com

“The whole album is truly something special and all SEVENDUST fans should check it out…along with people who enjoy the mellow side of rock music…with substance.”  — Zoiksonline.com

“TIME TRAVELERS & BONFIRES connects on every level with the established fanbase.  For a band that gets so much from their fans, that’s just what you would expect…The most underrated band of the last 20 years does what they always do here.  They deliver exactly what their fanbase would want.  Solid from start to finish…” – Pitriff.com

SEVENDUST
ANNOUNCES SECOND LEG OF HIGHLY ANTICIPATED ACOUSTIC
HEADLINING “AN EVENING WITH SEVENDUST” TOUR;
PLEDGEMUSIC-FUNDED ACOUSTIC STUDIO ALBUM,
‘TIME TRAVELERS & BONFIRES’
OUT APRIL 15

SEVENDUST has announced the second leg of their “An Evening With Sevendust” acoustic U.S. tour, which kicks off April 1 in Athens, GA at the Georgia Theatre.  They’re hitting the road to promote their long-awaited and highly-anticipated acoustic album, TIME TRAVELERS & BONFIRES, which will be released April 15 on 7Bros. Records, in conjunction with ADA Label Services.

“Black” is the album’s first single, which is already getting spins on SiriusXM’s “Octane” channel, is currently available on iTunes.  Pre-orders are also available on iTunes and Amazon.

On Friday, November 22, 2013, SEVENDUST partnered with PledgeMusic for a direct-to-fan campaign to help fund the creation of TIME TRAVELERS & BONFIRES and was set to last a 130 days.  Over the course of that first weekend, they reached their goal thanks to their “Family” of fans who had received the exciting news solely from the band’s and band member’s personal Facebook and Twitter sites.  SEVENDUST has always said they consider their fans to be part of the SEVENDUST Family, and they certainly proved their love and devotion for the band with the immediate response to the PledgeMusic opportunity.

Even though there are still seven days left of the campaign, SEVENDUST has raised over 222% of their goal with over 3,400 pledges.  Exclusive incentives that are still available include a digital download of the album before its available anywhere, autographed T-shirts, a “Making Of” DVD, as well as autographed guitars, amps, stage backdrops and cymbals that have been used on tour.

In radio news, SEVENDUST will guest on the nationally syndicated radio show, “Rockline,” with host Bob Coburn on Monday, April 14 at 8:30pm PT/11:30pm ET.  Fans are encouraged to speak with the band that night by calling 1-800-344-ROCK (7625). For a list of stations and for information regarding how fans can hear the broadcast streaming live, go to www.RocklineRadio.com.  The show will be streamed on the Rockline website for two weeks beginning the evening after the broadcast.

1 SEVENDUST: Ninth Studio Album,“Black Out The Sun,” Out March 26, 2013; Headlining Tour With Lacuna Coil Starts February 2

SEVENDUST

ANNOUNCES RELEASE OF NINTH STUDIO ALBUM,
“BLACK OUT THE SUN,”
DUE OUT MARCH 26, 2013;

HEADLINING TOUR WITH LACUNA COIL
STARTS FEBRUARY 2
March 26, 2013 is going to be a very good day for SEVENDUST fans.  That day brings the highly anticipated release of the band’s brand new album, their ninth studio effort, BLACK OUT THE SUN, on their 7Bros. Records label (through Warner Music Group’s Independent Label Group).  The first single, “Decay,” will be released to radio and available for download at online retail outlets January 22, 2013.

Anxious to share the scorching new sounds, SEVENDUST will set out on a headlining tour with Lacuna Coil starting February 2, 2013 in Winston-Salem, NC at Ziggy’s.  Tickets for the shows listed below will go on-sale Friday, November 30, 2012.  Fans should check their local ticket outlets for purchase info.  More shows for SEVENDUST are currently in the works and will be announced in the coming months.
In a recent interview with Revolver, guitarist John Connolly described the new music as having “a darker vibe…but there’s still plenty of melody.  It fits right in with ANIMOSITY, ALPHA and our self-titled album.  Lots of heavy stuff and some more mellow moody songs as well.”  As guitarist Clint Lowery proclaims in Guitar World, “There’s a dark turn to the whole thing…in a lot of ways, it’s your typical SEVENDUST record.”  The magazine goes on to declare that BLACK OUT THE SUN “will eclipse its predecessors with its southern-rock brutality and bursts of industrial and reggae.”
For BLACK OUT THE SUN, the band–Lajon Witherspoon (vocals), Morgan Rose (drums/vocals), Clint Lowery (guitar/vocals), Vince Hornsby (bass/vocals) and John Connolly (guitar/vocals)—decided to self-produce and record the new album at The Architekt Studios in Butler, NJ with the help of mixer/engineer Mike Ferretti (who also worked with Lowery and Rose on CALL ME NO ONE’s debut album, LAST PARADE, which was released June 5 on 7Bros Records).
BLACK OUT THE SUN is the follow-up to COLD DAY MEMORY, which was released April 20, 2010 and debuted at #12 on Billboard’s Top 200 chart, the highest debut of the bands’ storied 8 studio album, 15 year career.  Along with it being SEVENDUST’s highest charting debut ever, the album’s first single, “Unraveling,” set a debut milestone as well.  It entered the BDS Active Rock radio chart higher than any other SEVENDUST track.  It surpassed 2003’s “Enemy,” which wound up peaking at #6 and is currently their highest charting song to date.  At radio, “Unraveling” is the most well received SEVENDUST song ever.
Once the band’s two years of touring in support of COLD DAY MEMORY came to a close, the band decided to go on hiatus to recuperate, regroup, and spend time with their families.  In typical SEVENDUST fashion, the resting period didn’t last long.  It was time to get back to work.  Lowery and Rose ventured out to The Architekt Studios to record their CALL ME NO ONE album, while guitarist Connolly and bassist Hornsby, along with Alter Bridge/Creed drummer Scott Phillips, and Tremonti Project/Creed guitarist Eric Friedman formed the band PROJECTED.  Their debut album, HUMAN, was released September 18 on Connolly’s own Yaya Papu LLC. label.
As Lowery stated in Guitar World, “Playing in side projects was a way to kind of scratch an itch and then come back to SEVENDUST with full appreciation for what it is.”  And as the magazine concluded, “Consider that itch scratched.”

0 CANDLELIGHT RED CONFIRMED FOR A STRING OF DATES WITH SEVENDUST AS DEBUT SINGLE “CLOSER” CONTINUES TO CLIMB RADIO CHARTS

  • October 26, 2011
  • by Rob Rockitt
  • · Entertainment · Hard Rock Music · Hard Rock News · Hard Rock Videos · Music · Video

With Candlelight Red’s debut recording for the Imagen label, ‘The Wreckage,’ recently released digitally (September 27th), it has just been confirmed that the group will be supporting metal veterans Sevendust on a string of dates from November 22nd through December 10th. Additionally, Candlelight Red will be headlining their own show on October 29th, before playing a one-off show with Puddle of Mudd on November 16th and as part of 2 Broke To Rock with Texas Hippie Coalition on November 19th.

I would call Candlelight Red’s music heavy, melodic and emotion-driven rock,” guitarist Jeremy Edge recently told the America Online Noisecreep website.  “There are a lot of big hooks, but we’re always aggressive.” Joining Edge in the band is vocalist Ryan Hoke, bassist Jamie Morral, and drummer Josh Hetrick.

The Williamsport, PA-based group has had plenty of road experience this year promoting ‘The Wreckage,’ sharing the concert stage with established and well-known hard rock acts, as Candlelight Red has opened for KISS, 10 Years, Saving Abel, Egypt Central, and Rev Theory.

The quartet has had the good fortune to work with Grammy-nominated producer David Ivory (whose credits include Halestorm and the Roots, among others) on ‘The Wreckage,’ which has resulted in the album’s debut single, “Closer,” flirting with the top 40 active rock radio. Candlelight Red has also received airplay on Octane, Music Choice, and Hard Drive.

And strong reviews have only added to the group’s progress, including the Centredaily site, which raved “If you enjoy your rock ’n’ roll hard, heavy and hummable but aren’t a big fan of Monster Energy drinks or jean shorts, you’ll appreciate Candlelight Red’s welcome twists to the somewhat erroneously named ‘alternative metal’ genre.” Also, the Heyreverb site paid Candlelight Red a compliment about their live show in a review of a recent show they played alongside 10 Years and Novus Folium – “10 Years was paired with bands that matched their sound and style. They weren’t too heavy, too trendy or too pop-punk – every act on the bill was a polished rock band and the progression of music was on point.

And soon, rock fans will be able to experience what the buzz is all about on a concert stage near you, when Candlelight Red hits the road with Sevendust!

Check out the band’s video “Closer” below!

ROCKSTAR ENERGY DRINK UPROAR FESTIVAL

AND AVENGED SEVENFOLD

RAISE FUNDS FOR NATIONAL FALLEN FIREFIGHTERS FOUNDATION AND

NATIONAL LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS MEMORIAL FUND

IN CONNECTION WITH 10TH ANNIVERSARY OF 9/11

DONATIONS TO BE PRESENTED AT SEPTEMBER 11 SHOW

AT COMCAST THEATRE IN HARTFORD, CT

The Rockstar Energy Drink UPROAR Festival and tour headliners Avenged Sevenfold are working with The Rock 106.9 WCCC in Hartford, CT to raise funds in remembrance of the tenth anniversary of 9/11. To respectfully remember this day and help financially support some great foundations that have assisted firefighters, police officers and their families, the Rockstar Energy Drink UPROAR Festival and Avenged Sevenfold will make a dollar for dollar match of all donations up to $10,000 made through The Rock 106.9 WCCC from now through September 11, 2011. Donations can be made online at www.WCCC.com.

At the September 11 Rockstar Energy Drink UPROAR Festival at Comcast Theatre in Hartford, CT, checks will be presented to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (http://www.firehero.org) and the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund (http://www.nleomf.com).

The United States Congress created the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation to lead a nationwide effort to remember America’s fallen firefighters. Since 1992, the tax-exempt, nonprofit foundation has developed and expanded programs to honor our fallen fire heroes and assist their families and coworkers. Their mission is to honor and remember America’s fallen fire heroes and to provide resources to assist their survivors in rebuilding their lives. They offer support programs for survivors, award scholarships to fire service survivors, help departments deal with line-of-duty deaths, and work to prevent line-of-duty deaths. www.firehero.org

The National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund is dedicated to honoring all of America’s law enforcement heroes–those who continue to serve and protect and those who have died in the line of duty, including the officers who lost their lives on September 11th. That mission is accomplished through the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington, DC, as well as programs such as Officer of the Month, Officer Roll Call and others. Today in the United States, some 900,000 law enforcement officers put their lives on the line for the safety and protection of others. The National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund invites you to learn more about the heroes of American law enforcement and join us in respecting, honoring and remembering them. www.nleomf.com

This marks the second year that the Rockstar Energy Drink UPROAR Festival has joined forces with Child Find of America.  “We’re incredibly honored that the Rockstar Energy Drink UPROAR Festival is continuing their partnership with Child Find of America in 2011,” said Mark Delluomo, Director of Operations, Child Find of America, Inc. “Last year’s tour promoted safety and awareness as well as raising over $40,000 which went directly to program costs. All of us at Child Find are very grateful to the producers, bands and fans who so generously contributed. We’re also excited that UPROAR has given us another opportunity to let thousands of rock fans know more about us through their website, programs and press releases. Traffic to Child Find’s website and Facebook cause page spiked over the course of the tour and continues to be vigorous. Many people still don’t realize Child Find not only investigates and resolves cases, but also has programs that work to promote safety and prevent abductions. For example, we’re really proud of the Parent Help and Parent Help for Military Families programs which are designed to help dads and moms parenting apart to problem-solve their challenges – including such issues as visitation, custody and child support. This kind of publicity can change all that.”

0 SEVENDUST CUTS EUROPEAN TOUR SHORT; U.S. HEADLINING TOUR SET TO LAUNCH JULY 7

  • June 13, 2011
  • by Rob Rockitt
  • · Entertainment · Hard Rock Music · Hard Rock News · Music

SEVENDUST was forced to cut their current European tour short over the weekend due to circumstances beyond their control.  The trek was scheduled to conclude June 24 in Madrid.  They’re deeply apologetic to their international fans and hope to see them very soon.

The band will be regrouping for their forthcoming U.S. headlining tour—along with Adelitas Way, Emphatic and Violence To Vegas–which launches July 7 in Cedar Rapids before heading out on the UPROAR tour later this summer.
SEVENDUST is touring in support of their eighth studio album COLD DAY MEMORY, which was released April 20, 2010 on their own 7Bros. Records, through Warner Music Group’s Independent Label Group.  The limited edition CD/DVD debuted #12 on Billboard’s Top 200 chart, marking the highest debut of the band’s 15 year career.

The fans have spoken. Cold Day Memory is Sevendust’s “best album to date” (Brett Ellis on Facebook). “I find it hard for words to describe how unbelievably amazing this album is. Such intense passion and depth.” (SupermanNYC on iTunes). “Best 7Dust CD ever” (Trey Lee Cowart on Facebook). “Unf*ckingbelievable” (@Szajdi on Twitter). “Album of the year. I know there are 8 months left in the year, but I don’t honestly see anything topping this. Anything.” (Cfw828 on Tunelab.com). “Sevendust are back harder than ever!” (jamroc2223 on iTunes).

Not only have the fans raved about it, they actually bought it too and at a higher clip than ever before. Cold Day Memory debuted at #12 on today’s Billboard Top 200, the highest debut of the bands’ storied 8 studio album, 15 year career. A trimphant return for Sevendust’s original lineup – Lajon Witherspoon (vocals), Morgan Rose (drums/vocals), Clint Lowery (guitar/vocals), Vince Hornsby (bass/vocals) and John Connolly (guitar/vocals). The limited edition CD/DVD includes 12 tracks along with an hour long behind the scenes DVD highlighting various aspects of the recording process.
With Lowery as a major contributor, Sevendust released four albums that stretched the limits of hard rock and metal, combining elements of thrash, classic metal, southern rock and soul into songs that were both sinfully tuneful and ruthlessly aggressive. Then in 2003, after the release of Seasons, the guitarist quit to focus on his other band. Sevendust continued for three more albums, and enjoyed considerable success, but something was clearly missing. So, when the band reunited with Lowery in early 2008, it was like the missing piece of a jigsaw puzzle was finally reinserted and the picture was again complete.
The results are telling. Along with Cold Day Memory being Sevendust’s highest charting debut ever, the album’s first single, “Unraveling”, set a debut milestone as well. It entered the BDS Active Rock radio chart higher than any other Sevendust track. It surpassed 2003’s “Enemy,” which wound up peaking at #6 and is currently their highest charting song to date. At radio, “Unraveling” is the most well received Sevendust song ever and has the chance to be an absolute crossover monster.
Sevendust will be on the road with Nonpoint, Saving Abel and Day of Fire in April and May and are confirmed for the entire Carnival Of Madness Tour with Shinedown, Chevelle, Puddle Of Mudd and 10 Years this summer. A full list of dates is below.
The video for “Unraveling” can be seen here:  http://new.music.yahoo.com/videos/sevendust/unraveling–218669400. Sevendust is offering fans the chance to order a limited edition signed copy of Cold Day Memory from their own webstore at http://sevendust.hasawebstore.com/.

SEVENDUST RETURN WITH NEW ALBUM, ‘COLD DAY MEMORY,’ APRIL 20 ON 7BROS. RECORDS/ILG;
“UNRAVELING” EXPLODING ON ACTIVE/ROCK RADIO;
HEADLINING TOUR WITH DROWNING POOL UNDERWAY WITH MORE DATES AND ROCK ON THE RANGE ON THE WAY

SEVENDUST–Lajon Witherspoon (vocals), Morgan Rose (drums/vocals), Clint Lowery (guitar/vocals), Vince Hornsby (bass/vocals), John Connolly (guitar/vocals)–are set to release their eight studio album, COLD DAY MEMORY, April 20 on their own 7Bros. Records, through Warner Music Group’s Independent Label Group.  COLD DAY MEMORY—produced by Grammy® Award winner Johnny K (Disturbed, Staind, 3 Doors Down, Plain White T’s)—is the band’s first new album with their original line-up back together with Lowery’s return after his departure in 2003.
The album’s first single, “Unraveling,” is already getting a great reaction at Rock Radio and is currently #20 on the Active Rock charts (it’s jumping to #18 next week).  With back-to-back double-digit add weeks at Active Rock before its actual add date, this is the most well-received Sevendust track in the last decade.  The song is currently available on iTunes and is available to stream on their Myspace page.  A video is currently in the works.
COLD DAY MEMORY capitalizes on all of Sevendust’s chemistry and potential.  While the band’s last few efforts were mainly heavy and rhythmic, the new songs balance brutality with textural passages and infectious counter-melodies.  There are even fleet-fingered guitar solos.  But whether confronting the listener with double-bass drums and staccato power chords or using melodic arpeggios and soft brush strokes to sweeten the sound of Witherspoon’s multi-faceted vocals, Sevendust sound excited, energized and ready to take on the world.
All five band members contributed to the lyrics on COLD DAY MEMORY, and the songs were works in progress up until the moment they were recorded.  In the end, the band crafted songs that encapsulated their experiences with the world and one another.  Witherspoon, who recently became a father, penned some lines about commitment and responsibility, while Rose, who was going through a painful divorce, wrote lyrics about heartbreak and disillusionment.  The album’s first single, “Unraveling,” was co-written by Lowery and Dave Bassett (Shinedown, Puddle of Mudd) and is about the collapse of a relationship, while “Confession” indirectly addresses Lowery quitting and returning to the band.
“Since we all write, it’s hard to tell exactly what each song is about, but we like to leave it up to the listeners to decide for themselves,” Rose says. “It’s funny because in the end you almost don’t know what you wrote. I remember telling John one time, ‘Dude, that was an amazing line you wrote,’ and he went, ‘What are you talking about? You wrote that.’  We wanted to change the template completely from what we did with our last album, HOPE AND SORROW.  We were going, ‘Let’s bring back those other elements Clint brought in that made us what we were.’  So we sort of made a silent agreement that we were going to let Clint run wild.  We said we’ll jump in when it’s time, but if you’ve got an idea let’s go with it.”
There’s something almost intangible about a band with strong chemistry.  When the guitarists vibe off each other just right, the bassist is lock in step with the drummer, the music almost transcends the musicians.  And when the vocalist is feeding off the power of the other players, almost anything is possible.  It’s something Sevendust learned early in their career when guitarist Clint Lowery joined forces with the eclectic Atlanta group.
“I knew once I got him in there that he could definitely change the band fully,” says drummer Morgan Rose. “His background vocals and his writing style and guitar playing were the final ingredients for us to become the band that we needed to be.”
With Lowery as a major contributor, Sevendust released four albums that stretched the limits of hard rock and metal, combining elements of thrash, classic metal, southern rock and soul into songs that were both sinfully tuneful and ruthlessly aggressive.  Then in 2003, after the release of SEASONS, the guitarist quit to focus on his other band Dark New Day.  Sevendust continued for three more albums, and enjoyed considerable success, but something was clearly missing.  So, when the band reunited with Lowery in early 2008, it was like the missing piece of a jigsaw puzzle was finally reinserted and the picture was again complete.
“This record personally has been one of the most difficult, but most rewarding records I’ve ever worked on,” explains Lowery. “I put a lot of pressure on myself to contribute good material to the guys after being gone for last three records and that helped me focus more than I ever had.”  Adds Lajon Witherspoon:  “I feel this album shows new growth for the band.  We’re very happy to have Clint back and are looking forward for everyone hearing the magic that’s made when we’re all together!”

sevendust

Sevendust is one of the more recent additions to the Rock Gone Wild music festival in August.  I must admit that they are one of the bands on the bill that I am the least familiar with. After checking out the videos below, I am definitely curious to see what this band can do live.

1 Twisted Sister & Sevendust Invades Rock Gone Wild!

Rock Gone Wild, America’s newest and most diverse rock festival, has announced two more additions to its already impressive line-up. Twisted Sister, the kings of glam rock and roll, will close the main stage on Saturday, August 22. Sevendust, one of modern rocks biggest acts, helps shut down the huge party on Sunday, August 23.
Twisted Sister will celebrate its 25th anniversary and add to its impressive run of headline festival appearances by closing Saturday’s show at the inaugural Rock Gone Wild. The band sold over 10 million records and issued the classic rock anthems “We’re Not Gonna Take It” and “I Wanna Rock” back in the ‘80’s. More than a decade after the band’s last show in 1987, the quintet reformed at a tribute show and has continued playing together; the reformation includes an astonishing run of over 50 headline festival dates, performing in front of two million people in 23 countries. The group has also had success re-issuing records, recording a Christmas collection and releasing numerous DVDs of its legendary live show, a show that will come alive in all of its glory at RGW. Make sure to catch it-this may be the last time that TS dons the “old school” make-up onstage in the U.S.

Sevendust2

Sevendust has become one of modern rock’s biggest bands the hard way-releasing a stream of impressive records and following each with a seemingly never-ending tour. The band is not known for one record or one song, but rather a solid body of work that continues to improve with every new release. The band’s last record, Chapter VII: Hope and Sorrow, which featured the huge hits “Inside” and “The Past” is still selling, but the band is already recording the follow-up. The quintet will take a studio break to rock RGW with its blend of heavy metal guitar, rap dynamics and infectious melodies.

With these additions, the line-ups for each day of the festival have been announced:

Thursday: Saxon, Warrant, April Wine, Saigon Kick, Honeymoon Suite, Tyketto, Black ‘N Blue, Tigertailz, Ernie and the Automatics (featuring former Boston members Barry Goudreau and Sib Hashian), Sick of Sarah, Ashamed and Savior.

Friday: Puddle of Mudd, Saliva, Jackyl, Cherie Currie (of the Runaways), Powerman 5000, Marcy Playground, Rhino Bucket, Gypsy Pistoleros, Throw the Fight and Crazy Lixx.

Saturday: Twisted Sister, Skid Row, Lita Ford, Dokken, Great White, Kix, L.A. Guns (featuring Phil Lewis), Hardcore Superstar, Primal Fear, Dangerous Toys, Helix, Junkyard, Frankenstein 3000, Sex Department, Mighty Swine and Stallion.

Sunday: George Thorogood and the Destroyers, Candlebox, Sevendust, Saving Abel, Eve 6, Tantric, Armored Saint, Lizzy Borden, Dirty Looks, Lillian Axe, The Texas Hippie Coalition, Downtread and Stuck on Stupid.

If you want to go wild this summer, Rock Gone Wild is the place to be. With over 50 bands on two stages and campground parties going all night long, even the most insatiable rock appetite will be satisfied.  But if you really want the ultimate Rock n’ Roll experience, you need to be in the Sinner’s Lounge. The Sinners Lounge is the first-of-its-kind to be featured at an American rock festival. It is not your average VIP experience at a festival, the Sinners Lounge at Rock Gone Wild will offer an up-close look at the sort of debauchery that rock fans only dream of seeing at a rock festival.

Limited only to 500 ticket holders and rock stars, the sinners lounge will place the avid fan in the midst of the rock and debauchery experience, in an all inclusive night club setting. Glowing walls, leather couches, nightly Champaign fountains, appetizers, and cocktail waitresses dressed to theme each night are just the beginning of this all inclusive lounge. Want an open bar with liquor, cocktails, martinis, shooters and more booze than a tour bus in the 80’s? Check. Want to be entertained by dancers and acoustic performances by special guests? Check. Want to mingle with the bands that rocked your world just hours ago? Check.  Want a View of the backstage mayhem while you do it all? Check.  Go Platinum at Rock Gone Wild 09 to enjoy this all inclusive package along with seating in the first 10 rows, buffet style breakfast, lunch and dinner, beer, soft drinks and more.

1 Sevendust Gives An Update

SEVENDUST guitarist Clint Lowery has issued the following update:

“Wow! We just got back from our trip over to Germany, Qatar and Afghanistan entertaining the troops. Which truthfully they entertained the hell out of us. First off we’re coming off a two day transit that started in Afghanistan that ended here in Atlanta for most of us and to say that the flights were long and delayed would be an understatement. I’m still in that dream state from lack of sleep. Between the time changes, different flights etc. it’s gonna be a few days before we pull it together and by the time we do we leave again to go back out which is par for the course for Sevendust.

I’m still processing everything we just went through over there so I’ll do my best to give you guys a preview of everything. First off, the trip started in Germany at a base there that housed a lot of families of deployed soldiers. We played a full on electric set that was cool but a lil strange at first because we saw alot of kids on shoulders and a family kinda of vibe and here we come out like CANNIBAL CORPSE. But turned out very emotional because of the words said by Lajon (Witherspoon) and the flag we were presented at the end of the show by some of the soldiers. After that show we continued over to another base in Germany and did another electric show. Both were very cool but now’s where it gets a lil interesting.

We leave to Qatar which is pronounced a few different ways by the troops but we liked the Cutter way of pronouncing! We land at night there and step off the plane at nice comfortable 105 temp. Sucked the wind out of your lungs the second we stepped off the plane. Walk through the airport and saw a lot of people staring at us with a ‘why the hell are you here and we want to kill you’ look on their face. Apparently Americans with piercings, tatts and southern accents aren’t the desired visitors of the middle east. We could feel the stares of hate on us in the custom line which for me was kinda scary. We were not in our comfort zone to say the least. After getting through customs we’re met on the other side by a couple soldiers that immediately greeted us with a nevermind them asshole greetings welcome. One of the soldiers that met us was named Cook and he was blinged out and funny as hell. He made us feel comfortable right off the bat. Both of the guys that picked us up started giving us info on the country, the war and everything else we asked which was a million questions. We got to the base in Qatar(cutter) which is a huge base there where soldiers go for a few days for RnR. No not rock n roll. That’d be too corny. Rest and recoup. Anyway, we spent two days there hanging and playing an acoustic show.

Next we go to fly to Afghanistan and we are soon to learn that no military flights they have us on leave on time for us. We’re pretty much a lil higher on the priority list than the mail and not much but they are fighting a war over there so we don’t mind. After we get through Qatar customs we get on a plane called a C17 which is a work horse plane they use to transport cargo from place to place. We were happy to get on that because the other option was a C130 which from what we here was a brutal ride. Anyway, got a chance to ride in the cockpit of the flight into Afghanistan and parts of the flight which was amazing. We were a lil nervous flying into here because as most of you know this is where a lot of the activity of the war is taking place.

We arrive after they do a combat landing which is a landing the planes do to avoid a straight approach and avoid any firing upon. Not your typical landing at all. We get there and after we land we get sorted out in our room which is what was referred to as the Bee Hut! All of us in a room with bunk beds. Oh before I forget we had a guy named Ben that was sent there to help guide us through all of this and work alongside Chris our tour manager during this, which was amazing by the way, that was with us the whole time. Anyway, right when we got settled in we had to take part in a falling soldier ceremony that they do when they lose a soldier there. Everyone on the base lines up on the streets of the base completely silent, hands behind back as the flagged covered casket goes through the streets and is saluted by the soldiers as it passes. It was very sad and made the war very real for us. Very powerful and made us realize what these men and woman are facing everyday over there.

After that we began hanging with the soldiers, meeting different Generals, shooting guns, riding to other bases on smaller planes, doing crazier combat landings, eating with the troops, playing acoustic shows where every person in the audience had a firearm, drinking a lot of water and basically being apart of their world for a few weeks. There’s soo much more I could go into but I’m sure the other guys in the band will post on here with even better details of our experience.

For me it was a very spiritual experience that I will never forget and look forward to doing again. I left with no acoustic guitars because during our last performance I gave one soldier a guitar and invited the same guy to smash another one to give our acoustic show a electric vibe. LOL!
We thank the troops and everyone else we met for being such amazing hosts and allowing us the chance to do our part and entertain those incredible people there. We love you and pray for a safe return for all of you!
Clint(7d)”

Ozzy Osbourne, Metallica, Jonathan Davis of Korn, Serj Tankian, Hellyeah, Sevendust and Shadows Fall, among others, are scheduled to appear at this year’s one-off Ozzfest, to be held Aug. 9 at Pizza Hut Park in Dallas.

Other main stage acts on the bill are Cavalera Conspiracy, Apocalyptica, In This Moment and an all-star tribute to late Pantera guitarist “Dimebag” Darrell Abbott. Second stage acts are Devildriver, Kingdom of Sorrow, Soilent Green, Witchcraft and Goatwhore. The Sword, Drowning Pool and Rigor Mortis will handle duties on the third stage.

“We’re going to be a stadium destination festival for now — we have gone past doing the sheds every summer,” says Ozzy’s wife, Sharon Osbourne, who is producing Ozzfest with AEG Live. “We’ve given everyone else the blueprint and we have to keep evolving Ozzfest. This is just the beginning; AEG Live and I have a lot of new ideas for Ozzfest.”

Ozzfest will be Osbourne’s only concert performance this summer. Tickets for the one-day festival will go on sale May 31 via Ozzfest.com; prices have not yet been announced.

Last year, the Osbournes created a stir when they revealed the Live Nation-produced Ozzfest would be a sponsor-driven, free event, and acts would be asked to play without being paid. The 25-date amphitheater tour featured such artists as Lamb Of God, Hatebreed and Lordi, among others
