Helsinki vampires THE 69 EYES have revealed the cover art for the bands upcoming tenth studio album, “X”.
Commented lead alchemist Jyrki69: “The cover is pure Goth ‘n’ Roll: a psychedelic mirror image of old wild animal bones with our X-tagram projected over all. It’s good, evil, magic & voodoo all together! Something to stare at when tripping on the album.”
“X” is scheduled for a late September 2012 release via Nuclear Blast.
The first single, “Red”, will be released in August. More info coming soon – keep your eyes peeled!
Helsinki vampire rockers, THE 69 EYES, are currently putting finishing touches to their new, 10th studio album. “We’ve never really celebrated anything, not that we’ve been playing 20 years or so (vampires don’t count decades). Thus this time we thought to celebrate a bit: the new album is entitled as tenth in Roman numbers, it’ll be called “X””, says lead vampire, Jyrki69.
The first single release from album is called “Red” and it’s due in August as the album comes out late in September on Nuclear Blast Records.
The album was recorded in Stockholm, Sweden, produced by “On The Verge” production team.
The mixing is done by Stefan Boman (THE HELLACOPTERS, BULLET). “The sound is the most melodic, yet melancholic, we’ve ever had. Listening to the pre-mixes have been giving goose bumps to everyone here. This is the best 69 EYES album ever done!” the singer states.
At the same time the band will also launch their own vampire style red wine, simply called as “Red” which will mainly be distributed in Sweden and Finland.
While waiting for the album, the Helsinki vampire enthusiastic can go to listen to singer Jyrki’s DJ skills as he hosts his Goth’n’Roll club nights in Barcelona’s UNDEAD club in July 7th and FANGTASIA II event in New Orleans, USA in July 21st.

The 69 Eyes are due to release their 9th studio album Back In Blood on September 15th, via The End Records. The first single is the tongue-in-cheek ‘Dead Girls Are Easy’ – a nasty power anthem for sleazy pin-ups complete with a sing-a-long chorus aimed at those online chicks with the looks that kill! The video will be directed by MTV superstar and close friend Bam Margera, who was also responsible for the Eyes’ rock homage to ‘80s cult movie ‘The Lost Boys’.

HIM, THE 69 EYES and NEGATIVE are among the confirmed bands for the fourth annual Helldone Festival, set to take place December 29-31, 2008 at various clubs in Helsinki, Oulu and Tempere Finland.
This time around HIM, KYPCK (pronounced “Kursk”) and 45 DEGREE WOMAN will take the festival on the road, to the cities of Oulu and Tampere. While this fearless trio shares some good vibes with the rest of the country, Helldone HQ in Helsinki is rocking to the sounds ofSTAM1NA, DIABLO and GODSPLAGUE on Monday, December 29; andTHE 69 EYES, NEGATIVE and SARA on Tuesday, December 30. New Year’s Eve marks the eagerly awaited return of the road warriors.
During the past couple of years, the Helldone Festival has been proud to present some cool bands from overseas but the fans have politely pointed out that the thing they really want to see and hear are Finnish bands. Finnish bands in the dark heart of the Finnish winter.
Some of this year’s bands have played at the festival before but none has been invited back purely for old times’ sake. Each and every band in theHelldone 2008 lineup has recently reached important milestones in their careers: be it a killer album, a breakthrough in new territories or a big tour. They all are alive, hungry, fast and furious. And definitely as cool as a December night in downtown Hellsinki.
Helldone 2008 marks the tenth anniversary of HIM‘s New Year’s Eve shows at Tavastia Club — the tradition out of which the Helldone Festival was born. Each night there will be three top bands on the Tavastia stage, while the neighboring venue Semifinal serves as a chill out zone with some familiar faces spinning records. HIM will traditionally start their set at midnight on New Year’s Eve.
Helldone Festival 2008:
Dec. 29-31 @ Tavastia & Semifinal, Helsinki
Dec. 29 @ Teatria, Oulu
Dec. 30 @ Pakkahuone & Klubi, Tampere
