As their explosive singles ‘Adrenaline’, ‘Controlled Emotions’ and ‘Sleepwalker’ already on over 50 rock and metal internet stations, SWIRL is hitting the road supporting BRITNY FOX and STEPHEN PEARCY on a winter tour.
Having recently been out playing solo and supporting SLAUGHTER in the Los Angeles area, Swirl will now venture out on tour with Britny Fox and Stephen Pearcy on a tour that kicks off November 28th th in Yucaipa, CA at Angel’s Roadhouse (see below for a complete itinerary).
Says the band, “We are thrilled to be included on the Metal In America XXX-Mas tour December 2008. We never imagined this opportunity would come our way . Going across North America with such an established and celebrated headliner as RATT front man Stephen Pearcy, he alone would have been enough. But to find out that will be with Britny Fox as well, just guarantees many, many hours nightly of hard rockin`, headbangin good times for every one in attendance! We are looking forward to reconnecting with the our fans as we begin to promote the upcoming ‘Timeline’ release!”
Timeline the upcoming album to be released later this year, features the singles ‘Adrenaline’ and ‘Sleepwalker’, played, mixed and produced by Fred Coury (CINDERELLA). 1 Motley Crue, Hinder & Theory of A Deadman Tour Dates!
As reported by Billboard.com, Motley Crue will follow up this summer’s Crue Fest amphitheater tour with a North American arena trek, beginning Feb. 2, 2009, at Cox Arena in San Diego and wrapping March 18 at the Cumberland County Civic Center in Portland, Maine.
The 25-city-plus jaunt will feature support from Hinder, Theory of a Deadman and the Last Vegas. Chicago-based the Last Vegas recently won the first Guitar Center On-Stage: Your Chance to Make Rock History contest. Along with an opening slot on Motley Crue’s upcoming tour, the rock outfit’s prize includes a management contract with Tenth Street Entertainment and a recording deal with Eleven Seven Music.
Ticket prices for the Live Nation-produced Saints of Los Angeles 2009 tour will range from $25 to $75, with public on-sales beginning Nov. 21 in various markets. Other tour partners besides Guitar Center include American Express and Fuse, according to Tenth Street Entertainment/Eleven Seven Music CEO Allen Kovac.
Kovac, who has served as Motley Crue’s manager since 1994, says the band’s winter jaunt picks up where Crue Fest left off. “These are markets we didn’t play,” Kovac tells Billboard. “Rock has always been a middle-of-the-country sport, and you have to go to where your fans are.”
The inaugural 40-plus-city North American Crue Fest — which also featured rock acts Buckcherry, Papa Roach, Trapt and Sixx:A.M. — grossed $16.6 million and drew more than 613,000 concertgoers, according to Billboard Boxscore. The trek followed the June release of “Saints of Los Angeles,” the first Motley Crue album in more than a decade recorded by the band’s original members. The set has sold 236,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
After March, Motley Crue will break from touring until the summer, when it will visit European cities in June. From there, the band will return stateside from July through September for the second edition of Crue Fest, Kovac says. Support acts for the summer tour are still in the works.

2 HIM, THE 69 EYES, NEGATIVE Confirmed For Finland’s HELLDONE FESTIVAL
HIM, THE 69 EYES and NEGATIVE are among the confirmed bands for the fourth annual Helldone Festival, set to take place December 29-31, 2008 at various clubs in Helsinki, Oulu and Tempere Finland.
This time around HIM, KYPCK (pronounced “Kursk”) and 45 DEGREE WOMAN will take the festival on the road, to the cities of Oulu and Tampere. While this fearless trio shares some good vibes with the rest of the country, Helldone HQ in Helsinki is rocking to the sounds ofSTAM1NA, DIABLO and GODSPLAGUE on Monday, December 29; andTHE 69 EYES, NEGATIVE and SARA on Tuesday, December 30. New Year’s Eve marks the eagerly awaited return of the road warriors.
During the past couple of years, the Helldone Festival has been proud to present some cool bands from overseas but the fans have politely pointed out that the thing they really want to see and hear are Finnish bands. Finnish bands in the dark heart of the Finnish winter.
Some of this year’s bands have played at the festival before but none has been invited back purely for old times’ sake. Each and every band in theHelldone 2008 lineup has recently reached important milestones in their careers: be it a killer album, a breakthrough in new territories or a big tour. They all are alive, hungry, fast and furious. And definitely as cool as a December night in downtown Hellsinki.
Helldone 2008 marks the tenth anniversary of HIM‘s New Year’s Eve shows at Tavastia Club — the tradition out of which the Helldone Festival was born. Each night there will be three top bands on the Tavastia stage, while the neighboring venue Semifinal serves as a chill out zone with some familiar faces spinning records. HIM will traditionally start their set at midnight on New Year’s Eve.
Helldone Festival 2008:

0 Unholy Alliance Tour Featuring Slayer, Trivium & Mastodon
“UNHOLY ALLIANCE TOUR, CHAPTER III” LAUNCHES ITS FIRST 2008 ASSAULT WITH METAL HAMMER SPONSORED UK DATES
BILL FEATURES SLAYER, TRIVIUM, MASTODON
The UK leg of the mighty “Unholy Alliance Tour, Chapter III” kicks off in Manchester, England on October 27. This third instalment of what has been hailed as “the heaviest, darkest tour of the year,” the “Unholy Alliance Tour, Chapter III” will feature Slayer, the undisputed kings of extreme speed/thrash metal, and two true princes of the genre, Trivium and Mastodon. An opening act will be announced shortly. While Slayer will close all of the shows, they will be co-billed with Trivium on the UK dates.
OCTOBER
27 Manchester Apollo, Manchester, England
28 Wolverhampton Civic Birmingham, England
30 Hammersmith Apollo, London, England
31 Hammersmith Apollo, London, England
NOVEMBER
2nd CIA, Cardiff
3rd Academy, Glasgow
The Unholy Alliance tour first launched in Fall, 2004 with a European edition that featured Slipknot, Slayer, Mastodon and Hatebreed. The venture was so successful, the first North American trek, dubbed “The Unholy Alliance Tour, Chapter II: Preaching to The Perverted,” kicked off in Summer, 2006 with Slayer, Lamb of God, Children of Bodom, Mastodon, and Thine Eyes Bleed stomping and screaming its way to 30 U.S. and Canadian cities. The European run of “Unholy Alliance Tour, Chapter II” took place in Fall, 2006, featuring Slayer, In Flames, Children of Bodom, Lamb of God, and Thing Eyes Bleed.
SLAYER
A journalist once wrote of Slayer, “If Thomas Jefferson were alive today, he undoubtedly would be listening to Slayer.” Indeed, in the beginning, when there were no blueprints, no set paths, no boundaries or steps to follow, SLAYER assaulted the world with its new hybrid of metal and punk. Heavier, faster and darker than the rest, Slayer set the new standard which all others continue to follow. Slayer is the band that all other heavy acts are measured against, defining not only a genre but an attitude. For more than two-and-a-half decades, Slayer’s onslaught of sheer brutality has proven them to be the supreme thrash-metal band on the planet. Entire countries have banned their music, NARAS has graced them with two Grammy Awards. Slayer is currently writing material for a new album, release date to be determined.
TRIVIUM
Orlando, FL heavy metallers TRIVIUM are delighted to be co-headlining with SLAYER on the UK leg of this year’s colossal UNHOLY ALLIANCE tour. Having performed over 600 shows in the last 36 months alone, Trivium are no strangers to the stage and life on the road. Last year, the worldwide million-selling band toured extensively with Machine Head, co-headlining the impressive Black Crusade tour, as well as finding time to play shows with the legendary Iron Maiden amongst others. Since then, they have been hard at work on their next studio album for Roadrunner Records, due for release on September 29, 2008.
MASTODON
Hailing from Atlanta, Georgia, Mastodon have been critically acclaimed by almost every publication in the US and Europe. Their Grammy nominated album, Blood Mountain, the group’s third release, isn’t just unconventional, it’s surreal, progressive and unrepentantly heavy. Mastodon combined their favorite musical styles, including thrash, doom, prog and psychedelic metal to concoct something utterly original, undeniably devastating and irrefutably entrancing. They are currently in the studio with producer Brendan O’Brien recording their follow up to “Blood Mountain.”
Mastodon will also be returning to the UK in December to take part in The Nightmare Before Christmas at All Tomorrows Parties which is curated by Faith No More / Fantomas frontman Mike Patton and legendary rockers The Melvins. 6th and 7th December – Somerset, All Tomorrows Parties.

As is often the case, the most exciting and inspiring new music regularly comes from the most unexpected of sources. You see, Man Raze is not your average debut artist – they are a band whose members have already achieved multi-platinum sales worldwide in previous guises but are going back to their roots in the form of a straight up rock three piece.
Man Raze is:
Phil Collen (vocals/guitar) – Phil joined Def Leppard in 1982, and with band mate and best friend Steve Clark was able to create the bands highly influential and incredibly successful trademark dual guitar sound. Def Leppard have sold over 60 million albums world-wide to date. 20 years on from the release of their seminal “Hysteria” album, the band are fresh out of a sold out UK arena tour and critically acclaimed new album “Songs From the Sparkle Lounge”.
Paul Cook (drums) – Founder member and mainstay with one of the most influential bands of all time – the Sex Pistols. The band’s 1977 album “Never Mind The Bollocks…” has launched a thousand imitators and is constantly name checked by generation after generation of musicians. Paul Cook has also played with the likes of Johnny Thunders, Edwyn Collins and Greedy Bastards (alongside Phil Lynott and Scott Gorham) and is currently back touring with The Sex Pistols.
Simon Laffy (bass) – long time friend of Phil Collen and member of Collen’s pre Def Leppard outfit Girl. Simon handles the bulk of Man Raze’s production duties also.
“Surreal” is a band at its very best. From the punky punch to the face opener “This Is” to the dub tinged “Runnin’ Me Up”, from the pop fused “Every Second Of Every Day” to the angular guitar rock of “Skin Crawl” (originally a limited edition single in late 2005), from the dirty riffage of “Turn It Up” (already used extensively across ESPN sports channel) to the mid tempo ballsy chorus of album closer “Shadowman”, Man Raze is much more than a sum of its parts. Freed from the expectations of their former (or current) outfits, the band can play whatever they like. The sound is truly eclectic – a mix of the classic and contemporary influences that have shaped the individual members as musicians – From the Police and Trojan Records through to Bowie and Nirvana. All recordings are self recorded and produced.
Already given a critically acclaimed release in the USA, the UK album will come with a special European edition bonus disc. The bonus disc will feature 5 previously unreleased tracks – You’re So Wrong, Low live in Burbank 08, Turn It Up (Deep Dub), Runnin’ Me Up (Instrumental Dub) and Can’t Find My Own Way – Live Acoustic (Gary Crowley show).

0 TOM MORELLO TOUR TO FEATURE BOTH ACOUSTIC & ELECTRIC SETS: THE FABLED CITY RELEASED
TOM MORELLO: THE NIGHTWATCHMAN RELEASES ANTICIPATED SOLO ALBUM, THE FABLED CITY; NATIONAL TOUR TO FEATURE BOTH ACOUSTIC AND FULL-BAND ELECTRIC SETS
APPEARANCE SET FOR THE NEW YORKER FESTIVAL IN NYC OCTOBER 4th
“The Rage Against The Machine guitarist’s remarkable transformation from purveyor of weapons-grade funk-metal riffs into introspective protest folkie yields even more impressive fruit on his second solo effort. A-” Entertainment Weekly
Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine is set to release his anticipated solo album, The Fabled City, on September 30th. The 11-song album, produced by Brendan O’Brien (Bruce Springsteen, Pearl Jam), is the first release to bear the political and social activist’s birth name and features appearances by System of a Down’s Serj Tankian and Shooter Jennings. With more complex electric arrangements than displayed on the sparse solo debut One Man Revolution,The Fabled City is the synthesis of his groundbreaking work as an innovative rock guitarist and revolutionary acoustic troubadour. For the first time, this album bridges the gap between Tom Morello, the acoustic protest singer and Tom Morello, the guitar legend.
The tour in support of The Fabled City will display both sides of Morello’s guitar prowess with both an acoustic set and full-band electric set performed each night. In regards to the format of the performances, Morello stated “On The Fabled City Tour, I will be playing both acoustic and electric guitar. I want to start off with the darker acoustic songs and then build to some of the wildest electric guitar playing I have ever unleashed on stage in my career. The idea is half Dylan/Half Hendrix. I have been practicing my ass off and can’t wait to rock.”
In addition to the tour, Tom Morello has been confirmed to appear at the annual New Yorker Festival in New York City on Saturday, October 4th. Morello will be performing songs and talking with James Surowiecki, staff writer at The New Yorker since 2000. The performance and interview takes place at the Acura Stage at Cedar Lake Theatre, 547 West 26th Street. For more information: https://www.festival.newyorker.com/.

0 Tesla’s “Forever More” Tour Starts October 1st!
Multi-platinum rockers TESLA, Jeff Keith (vocals), Frank Hannon (guitars), Brian Wheat (bass), Troy Luccketta (drums) and Dave Rude (guitar) begin their “Forever More” tour this coming Wednesday, October 1at The Depot in Salt Lake City.
Tour is named for their seventh studio album, Forever More, set for release October 7 on Tesla Electric Company Recordings (in partnership with Ryko Distribution).
“I Wanna Live,” the new album’s first single, is accompanied by a video featured on the band’s site, aptly named, teslatheband.com where new updates are posted daily.
Tesla reunited with producer Terry Thomas and engineer Michael Rosen for Forever More. Thomas was behind the boards for the band’s 1994 Gold-certified Bust A Nut album, while Rosen worked with Tesla on Into The Now.
The band spent close to a year on a worldwide tour, between mid ’07 and ’08. During that time, the band recorded their Comin’ Atcha Live! DVD, was released July 15. It’s the band’s first DVD in 17 years (since 1991’s “Five Man Video Band”) and filled with over two hours of live music as well as special behind-the-scenes footage.
“After returning from Europe,” says guitarist Frank Hannon, “we jumped right back into the studio to work on Forever More with Terry while setting up a tour of American festival shows in July and August, playing alongside bands such as Matchbox Twenty, the Wallflowers, Queensrÿche, KISS and Judas Priest. It’s great that we can play with any band, of any music genre, because we’ve never been pigeon-holed into a style or label of music throughout our career.”
Hannon continues, “All the tracks on Forever More offer a variety of emotions where each song has its own twist, not sounding like another. Forever More was written and recorded during a period of high energy and bizarre life circumstances for each of Tesla’s band members, with those experiences coming full circle throughout the CD.”
Forever More is out October 7th

0 TESTAMENT ANNOUNCES HEADLINING DATES WITH SOILENT GREEN!!!
TESTAMENT is pleased to announce a string of headlining dates this October with Louisiana metallers Soilent Green. The tour includes TESTAMENT’s appearance at the Hammerstein Ballroom on October 9 in New York City, where they will be direct support to headliners Children of Bodom; also special guests, The Black Dahlia Murder and Between The Buried and Me.
Guitarist Eric Peterson checked in to discuss the Metal Masters tour and the band’s upcoming US headlining dates: “We just finished the Metal Masters tour, and it was a great tour to be on. Unfortunately, it went by too quick. We got to know everyone towards the end, and it started to feel like family. It’s too bad it had to end so soon, especially after getting to know everyone. Hopefully, the Metal Masters will continue next year in Europe.
“In the meantime, we’re heading to Japan and Australia. The last time we played there in ’06, we promised our fans we’d have a new record out the next time we came around. We kept our promise and we’re excited to get back there and play it for them.
“Once we get back, we’ll be headlining some east coast shows, including a one-off with Children of Bodom at the infamous Hammerstein Ballroom in NYC. We’ll have full production, so we’re excited to put on our whole show. This tour is going to focus on secondary markets, so we don’t spoil anything for next year. We plan on having a big year and putting a big package together, wink wink.”
Having just wrapped up the biggest tour of the summer – Metal Masters with Judas Priest, Heaven and Hell, and Motorhead – TESTAMENT has been touring to support their phenomenal new release, The Formation of Damnation. The album hit streets April 29 on Nuclear Blast Records and debuted at 59 on the Billboard 200. TESTAMENT has been in the top 3 on Sirius’ Hard Attack since March and were 1 on national metal radio for 12 weeks. The band recently won “Album of the Year” at the Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards for The Formation of Damnation.

3 Staind Chart Attack & Tour Dates
Talk about detonating on impact. The Illusion of Progress, the new album from Flip/Atlantic recording artists Staind, rocketed onto the Billboard 200 this week at #3, making it the fourth consecutive album of the band’s career to debut in the top 3.
News of the album’s explosive arrival follows a flurry of headline-making moves for the multi-platinum band, who recently teamed with online retailer Amazon.com for an innovative pre-release promotion, and have been on a worldwide summer tour, to be followed by a run in Europe with Nickelback in September, and headlining dates with special guests Seether and Papa Roach beginning October 4th at the Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, MD. Fans can go to www.staind.com for ticket information.
The Illusion of Progress is being propelled by chart-topping lead single “Believe,” currently #2 at Modern Rock, #5 at Active Rock, and #4 at Mainstream Rock. The song has already begun crossing over to the Hot AC charts with a debut at #34. “Believe” is Staind’s fastest-growing hit since “It’s Been Awhile.”
The Illusion of Progress is Staind’s sixth album and the follow-up to 2005’s certified platinum Chapter V. The album was produced by Johnny K and recorded in Lewis’ home studio with guitarist Mike Mushok , drummer Jon Wysocki, and bassist Johnny April.

Sound and Fury are continuing their rock n’ roll freight train of excess with the group’s Fall US tour alongside Boston based ‘80s enthusiasts Bang Camaro.
“Bang Camaro are really great and we’re really excited to be touring with them and its gonna be a kick ass party,” commented Sound and Fury frontman Luke Metcalf.
Toronto’s Sound and Fury are flying high off their self-titled debut full-length album, which was released through Rebel Youth Records/MRI-RED Distribution. The band’s refreshing approach to modern rock combines the thunderous riffing of AC/DC with the raw energy of the Ramones. The band’s explosive live show has been converting loyal fans opening for everyone from pop-punkers Sum 41 to Aussie rockers Airbourne. Sound and Fury’s unbridled power can be witnessed in the group’s brand new video for “Teenage Rampage”, which can be seen online at www.soundandfury.com.
Boston based Bang Camaro are the perfect tour companion to aid Sound and Fury’s whiskey rawk show. The band consists of three guitar players, a bass player, a drummer, and anywhere from ten to twenty singers. The songs remind the listener of arena rock from the mid to late 80s, but with a strange twist. This band has no lead vocals, only guitar solos and choruses sung by the band and the mob of extras. The group is touring in support of their self-titled debut album, which has drawn attention from MTV and Billboard magazine.
