1 Twisted Sister – A Twisted Christmas Live DVD (2007)
In 2006, Twisted Sister took the stage at the Starland Ballroom in Sayersville, NJ to a packed house.
A Twisted Christmas captures a great live show by the band, in which Twisted Sister performed several of their big hits, as well as a few tunes off of their 2006 Christmas CD, A Twisted Christmas.
Twisted Sister is one of the few bands from the 80’s era of rock that I never managed to see live, so I thoroughly enjoyed this performance. The band sounds great live, and the concert was a high energy show that the crowd in New Jersey really got into.
Before 2006, Hard Rock fans only had Trans Siberian Orchestra to go to for some harder rocking Christmas tunes. Thank Goodness for Santa Dee and his twisted little elves for bringing this hard rock Christmas DVD.
When you are out spending your hard earned cash on Black Friday, and need something to get you in the mood for Christmas, pick up Twisted Sister’s A Christmas Live DVD, and have yourself a Heavy Metal Christmas!
On a side note, the DVD has some pretty cool extras including the following videos:

4 Twisted Sister – Live at Hammersmith (Release Year – 1994)
Twisted Sister is one of the few popular 80’s hard rock bands that I never had the opportunity to see live. When they close out the Rocklahoma Music Festival Sunday Night, I am sure they will put on an incredible show.
Aside from their live performances that I watched on their recent DVD, Twisted Sister: The Video Years, Live at the Hammersmith was the only way I had to experience the energy of a live Twisted Sister show.
This CD captures one of the live shows during the band’s Stay Hungry tour at the Hammersmith Theater in London, and a couple of tracks from 1979 in Detroit before the band was signed. This CD doesn’t cut out anything. Dee Snider talks to the audience with plenty of expletives. More importantly, the band rocks, and rocks hard. What amazes me the most is how different the tempo is on the live songs, versus the studio recordings. The Live tracks are played heavier and faster, which tells me that Twisted Sister is a better live band, than the one you hear on the studio discs.
The covers of Jailhouse Rock and Train Kept a Rolling are very cool. This CD is the only place that I am aware of where you will here Twisted Sister perform these songs.
The Rocklahoma Music Festival will likely be successful enough to create several more of these open air type music festivals in the United States. When this event happens next year, hopefully Twisted Sister will return. Until then, I will enjoy Live at Hammersmith to get my fill of live Twisted Sister. If you are a Twisted Sister fan, don’t even hesitate picking this up. It is essential to your collection!

0 Twisted Sister: The Video Years DVD (Release Year – 2007)
Jay Jay French was on the Eddie Trunk show last Monday (6/25/07) talking about current Twisted Sister news, and some T.S. history.
He mentioned that when they were requested to Rocklahoma, they would only agree to do the show if they were the Headlining Act. The band got their wish! When Twisted Sister takes the stage to close out the Rocklahoma Music Festival, they wont have any new music to support the show, but they do have a brand new DVD that was released Tuesday (6/26/07).
Twisted Sister, The Video Years is an excellent disc for all 80’s hard rock fans. This disc gives you all of the videos that the band put out over the years, as well as the video, that MTV banned, Be Chrool to your Scuel.
This disc has one of the bands very early performances, (the first in the UK), and well as several live performances, and great interviews.
This disc is a must have for all Twisted Sister fans, and should be essential for all 80’s hard rock fans as well! It is a disc full of great music, and excellent history on one of the biggest hard rock bands in the 80’s.
