Comments SISTER: “Udo and Accept has been a big influence for the members in Sister for a long time and to open for U.D.O. is fucking great for sure! We’re really looking forward to it all and this is one of many things that we wished for at this stage in our career. With the new album “HATED” out this summer the only thing we want to do is to hit the roads! Germany has been our “second home” the last years and has except for Sweden been the country we undoubtedly done most gigs. It´s always been a blast down there. This will of course be no exception and we will see all of you bastards when the time comes. We promise a riot on stage and thank U.D.O. and the organization around him for this opportunity! Cheers!”
About the band:
SISTER, who hails from Stockholm/Jönkoping Sweden, formed in early 2006 working hard to build up a name as a strong act both live and in the studio. SISTER consists of 4 members- Jamie on vocals, Lestat on guitars and backing vocals, Rikki on bass and backing vocals, and Cari on drums and backing vocals- who combine the sounds of Punk, Glam, Rock, and Metal with an end result sounding something like the bastard child of GG Allin and Guns N’ Roses.
SISTER’s Metal Blade debut HATED has been released the 3rd/6th of June, 2011!

German metal powerhouse AFM Records has an array of brand new titles slated for North American release in the weeks ahead, and we aim to fill you in on what’s in store…
Scheduled to hit the streets on May 3, 2011 are new albums from SHAKRA, SUIDAKRA and VOODOO CIRCLE:
SHAKRA
Back On Track
The rise of SHAKRA continues! It seems like nothing can stop the successful Switzerland-based hard rock force, as their previous album Everest fought its way all the way to #4 on the Swiss album charts in 2009. Since Everest, the band have recruited new vocalist John Prakesh, and showcase their newly refined lineup on their latest piece of work, Back On Track. Recorded and produced at the renowned Power Ride Studios with the band’s own guitarist Thom Blunier, the new album is quite varied from previous releases, as SHAKRA´s catchy rock moves in some slightly new directions. Prakesh´s voice allows the unit to combine the classic SHAKRA sound with the most passionate, soulful and energetic vocals the band ever offered. [https://www.shakra.ch]
SUIDAKRA
Book of Dowth
German Celtic metal warriors SUIDAKRA have trampled audiences at major festival appearances and tours all over Europe, Asia, Russia and North America since their inception in 1994. Having toured with everyone from Children of Bodom, Tristania, Soilwork and more, and are currently embarked on a European tour with labelmates Onslaught, continuing to reap worldwide mass appeal and expanding their diehard fanbase as they have with each release to date. Now in 2011, SUIDAKRA proudly deliver their mammoth tenth full-length Book of Dowth to the masses! Recorded in Gernhart Studio (Destruction, Elvenking) and produced by Martin Buchwalter, Book of Dowth provides fans with some of the most epic tunes and tales to date over its glorious ten tracks. VOODOO CIRCLE
Broken Heart Syndrome
The second album from supergroup VOODOO CIRCLE has arrived. Comprised of several musicians who hail from the classic hard rock elite including David Readman (Pink Cream 69), Mat Sinner (Sinner, Primal Fear) and Alex Beyrodt (Silent Force), the new album, Broken Heart Syndrome, pays full homage to bands like Whitesnake, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Rainbow and Yngwie Malmsteen, all major lifelong inspirations to every member of the outfit. Mixed by Dennis Ward (Pink Cream 69, Krokus, Allen/Lande) and produced by Alex Beyrodt, the twelve, bold anthems on Broken Heart Syndrome undoubtedly solidify why the musicians that form VOODOO CIRCLE are heralded as being at the top of their game, and makes this album a must-hear for all fans of the “classic” eras of metal and hard rock. And scheduled for release on May 31, 2011 in North America, is the new release from German metal gods U.D.O.:
U.D.O.
Rev-Raptor
Longevity, integrity and constancy; these are the hallmarks of German metal kings U.D.O. Formed by two former members of Accept — Udo Dirkschneider (vocals) and Stefan Kaufmann (guitar) — U.D.O. have been flying their triumphant flag since their 1987 formation, but their 2009-released Dominator was a true triumph for the band, as the endless praise from fans and metal critics alike will attest. Since Dominator’s release, fans have been venomously awaiting the follow-up, and the wait is now over, as their thirteenth studio album, entitled Rev-Raptor, is confirmed for stateside release on May 31! On the thirteen-track album, U.D.O. provide the logical successor to Dominator; its concise rhythms and machine-like grooves are a perfect complement to the traditional and as usual outstanding songwriting of the band, and Dirkschneider’s incisive voice as always triumphantly at the forefront of the action.[https://www.udo-online.de]
Also watch for info on other new AFM releases coming in June and beyond, including new albums from BLOODBOUND, DEBAUCHERY, REV 16:8, LAKE OF TEARS and much more.

4 U.D.O – Dominator (2009)
U.D.O is back with their twelfth studio album, Dominator. This new disc might just be their best one yet.
While I agree that Udo Dirkschneider’s vocals might be an acquired taste, I have loved his voice ever since his early days with Accept. It is hard for me to believe at 57 years old, Udo can still manage to sing at such a high level. On Dominator, he is on top of his game, and vocals are razor sharp.
There are a couple of songs on Dominator that I didn’t care for. “Heavy Metal Heaven” and “Devil’s Rendezvous” just didn’t do it for me. “Devil’s Rendezvous” is a little more poppy than I would expect from U.D.O. The rest of the disc is pretty damn good.
“The Bogeyman” has a slow intro, that led me to believe that this song would plod along, and be a fairly boring track to start off this CD. That is not the case at all. “The Bogeyman” kicks into gear quickly and instantly got me headbanging and singing “He is the Bogeyman”.
“Dominator” is an absolutely killer title cut. This is one of my favorite metal songs of 2009! The guitars of Kaufmann and Gianola are pretty awesome on this tune.
“Black and White” and “Infected” are two more heavy rocking cuts back to back. I was already familiar with “Infected” from the U.D.O. EP that came out earlier this year. If you didn’t grab that EP, this is your second chance to grab the tune “Infected”. Both “Black and White” and “Infected” are awesome cuts on this disc.
“Doom Ride” is a pretty catchy number that seems to get better with each listen. You will find yourself singing Doooooooooom Ride in no time.
“Stillness of Time” is a mid tempo cut that does a good job breaking up the pace of Dominator. At times, I think this song leans more towards Whitesnake than Accept. This song adds in keyboards with some über cool riffing from Kaufman. About midway through the song has some awesome Spanish guitar, before moving back to the classic style riffing. This song is probably as radio friendly as you will ever hear U.D.O. get, and I am ok with that. This is a great tune!
DO NOT drive while listening to the song “Speed Demon”. You will get a speeding ticket. This high octane rocker will have you putting your foot to the floor. If you foot isn’t slammed down on the accelerator, it will be tapping to keep up with the high speed beats of this tune. This is another great head banger!
“Whispers In The Dark” is one of the slower tunes on this CD, but the music is great. This is a piano based number with a moody feel to it. Udo pulls this one off, and it is a really cool closer for Dominator.
For you U.S. fans, you are going to have to wait until October 6th, to purchase a copy of Dominator, but I think it will be worth the wait! This is a disc will appeal to both Accept and U.D.O. fans. I like it a lot, and I think you will too!
If you can’t wait until October, you can score a copy of the import CD, from CD Inzane at this link.

3 U.D.O. – Infected (Release Year – 2009)
Former Accept front man, Udo Dirkschneider is back with a brand new 5 song EP, for metal heads to feast their ears on. And if you want to become infected with the metal goodness, you have to act fast as this EP will be limited to 2222 pieces worldwide.
How does this EP sound? Imagine the classic metal of Accept performed today! If you are a fan of classic Accept, you are going to love this. This EP is full of heavy guitars, and awesome screaming vocals that Udo Dirkschneider has been known for. “Infected” works as a great appetizer for U.D.O’s new CD, “Dominator” which is scheduled for an August release.
The two songs “Platchet Soldat” and Poezd Po Rossii” are both in German and sound like they came right out of a German bier hall. Some may frown upon this, but I think it sounds really good. I don’t mind hearing Udo sing in his native language.
My only complaint is that I have wait two more months to hear the new disc. “Infected” will definitely hold me over until then.
