We are not sure what to make of the band A Life Divided. The band describes themselves as metal/gothic/electro. We wouldn’t call this hard rock, and it definitely is not metal, and yet, we like this song.
Check out the song “The Last Dance” and let us know what you think.

Disdained releases a brand new music video for the song “I Live For Your Pain” from the debut album “Kill My Only Enemy”!
Disdained hails from Sweden and its flourishing melodic progressive metal scene. Fronted by the beautiful vocals and mind tearing growls of Therese Thomsson, the mind blowing guitar art of Niklas Dahlin and Johan Hartman while supported by the heavy percussion skills of Johan Persson, the band is a musical force to reckon with.
With lyrics revolving around social and emotional dilemmas and musical arrangements of the darker variety the bands repertoire leaves no mind untouched.

Just in time for the start of the Swiss tour and on the last part of their successful “Firebirth” world tour 2012, GOTTHARD heats things up with “Give Me Real” their new fan video!
What usually requires long days of shooting with countless takes was made in Chile in an afternoon “First Take.” The result is pure emotion! Like hardly any other clip it captures the magic between the band, fans and live performance.
The video was shot spontaneously at the start of the Tour during the sound check. It was only the second show with singer Nic Maeder and is the fastest video shoot of the band’s history. The director from South America only needed one run-through. The film was shot in Chile, home of creative TV talent. In addition to the band, two known South American actors can be seen, the only 25-year-old Leon Bravo and the 24-year- old Paula Pardo.
“We were immediately enthusiastic about the idea when the director came up with the idea of making the clip on tour in Chile” says bassist Marc Lynn. “We were all curious to shoot in South America and to work with a local team. Also the fact that we were on tour and did not have two whole days as usual for a video shoot but only a few hours in the afternoon, was an exciting challenge. We got to know a lot from the people there and their sweeping, spirited way of working.”
Pasadena, CA’s Gypsyhawk have released a new video “State Lines” in support of their recently released CD, Revelry & Resilience. Check it out below!

Teen rock sensation Cherri Bomb has released a new video “Too Many Faces”. The video clip was shot in Los Angeles and directed by Lisa Mann (Apocalyptica, The Used).
“Too Many Faces” is the first single from Cherri Bomb’s full-length debut album, THIS IS THE END OF CONTROL, the disc Revolver Magazine called “a defiant blast of teenage rebellion that suggests a cross between Halestorm and the Foo Fighters.”
Though the girls’ ages range from 14 to 16, their album is the product of years of work. It begins with guitarist/vocalist Julia Pierce, who found her musical calling when she was very young. Her talent was undeniable, and her commitment was so unwavering that her parents were persuaded to uproot the family and move from New Jersey to Los Angeles – where they believed that she would have more opportunities to pursue her music. “When I got an electric guitar,” she says, “I realized that I wanted and needed to start my own band. I posted ads online and in local music shops around LA, looking for girl musicians my own age who were as passionate about music as I was. At the time it was hard to find girls my age who could even play instruments.”
Once the lineup was solidified (Nia Lovelis on drums, Miranda Miller on guitar and keys, Rena Lovelis on bass), the quartet hit the ground running. Over the course of the past two years, Cherri Bomb opened for a Foo Fighters’ arena show in Germany, performed at all the major European festivals, including Reading, Leeds, Rock En Seine, Oxegen, Highfields and Lowlands, and tore up Australia’s Soundwave festival. They’ve also shared stages with Bush, Staind, Lostprophets, Buckcherry and performed on this year’s Warped Tour. The all-girl rock band from Los Angeles not only held their own, but they won new believers at every stop.
Debut album THIS IS THE END OF CONTROL was released earlier this year. The album includes notable tracks such as “Raw. Real,” “Let It Go,” and “Shake the Ground,” which was also featured on Marvel’s AVENGERS ASSEMBLE movie-inspired soundtrack.
Soundgarden’s new CD King Animal will be released next Tuesday, November 13th. You can check out the brand new video for the first track on the CD, “Been Away Too Long” below!
Massacre Records is proud to release the sophomore album from German/Italian melodic metal outfit LOVE.MIGHT.KILL in North America this November.
Featuring drummer Michael Ehré (Firewind, Uli Jon Roth, Metalium) and the brilliant singer Jan Manenti, LOVE.MIGHT.KILL appeared virtually out of nowhere in 2011 with their Brace For Impact debut, an album which perfectly combined the enthusiasm of a first appearance with the experience of a long songwriting career, instantly winning over a solid fanbase within the European hard rock/power metal scene.
One year later, LOVE.MIGHT.KILL are about to release their second opus, 2 Big 2 Fail, to North American audiences, following its very recent release in Europe. Boasting nearly an hour of incredibly hard-hitting, melodic power metal with a dozen anthems, 2 Big 2 Fail was produced by Michael Ehré, as with their first album. Being around for years as the drummer in bands like Gamma Ray, Firewind, Metalium or with artists like Uli Jon Roth, Matt “Gonzo” Roehr, Vinnie Moore and Kee Marcello, Ehré has made a strong impact in the national and international scene. The songs were then mixed and mastered by Markus Teske (Spock´s Beard, Saga, Vanden Plas) at his own Bazement-Studio.
Check out Love.Might.Kill’s video “XTC” below!

I have to admit that the first couple of times that I listened to Jackyl’s latest effort Best in Show, I wasn’t that impressed. I thought a band that I have often compared to Jackyl, SNEW, out did Jackyl on their latest effort.
I do love the song “Screwdriver”, but I thought the rest of the CD was hit & miss. Last Friday night (at The Inner Circle), I saw the band perform several of the songs live, and my opinion changed 100%. You see, a few of the songs on Best in Show translate better live than they do in the studio. After seeing the band perform the songs live, I have grown to appreciate Best in Show much more than I did originally.
The album starts off with a real face melting rocker with “Best In Show”. This is one of the many songs that translate better live, although I like the version on the CD a lot.
“Screwdriver” and “Better Than Chicken” are a couple of tongue-in-cheek tracks that borrows from the Steel Panther playbook. Jesse James Dupree and company truly deliver these songs live. These may not be the type of songs you want to play around your young children, but I doubt you play Jackyl around your kids anyway.
Jackyl has crafted an almost perfect stripper pole anthem with their song “Encore”. This song came as completely unexpected when I heard it the first time but this one is a real party starter in Jackyl’s live set. I am sure this song will find its way into Gentemen’s clubs nationwide soon.
“Horns Up” is a fun little rocker that has a little Nazareth influence on it. I absolutely love the groove on the song “Golden Spookytooth”. This is quickly becoming one of my Jackyl favorites.
“Walk My Mile” is the longest track on Best in Show, and shows Jackyl taking a more serious approach to their music. This is a heavy tune, and a good one at that.
“Open Invitation” would have had a lot more impact, if it would have been released before Bin Laden’s death. While the man will be hated forever, this song was obviously written before he was killed.
The only band that has successfully pulled off the rap/rock thing was Aerosmith in my opinion. Needless to say, I still question why Jackyl covered “It’s Tricky” on this album. I am not a fan of the rap/rock hybrid, and I thought this cover was silly at best. For me that song ended the album on a down note. Nonetheless, Jackyl has delivered another solid album.
Best in Show is exactly what you would expect from a Jackyl CD. It is raw, raunchy and anything but subtle. Most importantly, it is a hell of a lot
of fun to listen to. The more I have listened to Best in Show, the more I have enjoyed it. It isn’t a perfect CD, but I think it is easily the band’s best effort since their 1992 self titled debut. Check it out!

Five Finger Death Punch’s video for “The Pride” premieres on Vevo TODAY, and can be viewed here: http://www.vevo.com/watch/five-finger-death-punch/the-pride/US5Z51200276. The clip is the first wherein the band has presented live footage from the road within the short-form music video medium. Footage was selected from the band’s successful Metal Hammer Presents Trespass America Tour over this past summer, and the band’s critically acclaimed set at Rock On The Range. The single release of “The Pride” follows the #1 chart-topping single “Coming Down” which remains all over the airwaves of Active Rock radio.
Five Finger Death Punch singer Ivan Moody shares, “One of the best parts of being in this band is that we have the chance to design and build bigger and bigger live shows. Our concerts became spectacular gatherings of our extended family and we wanted to share this amazing experience with everyone. So we wrote & designed this video in dedication of our loyal, dedicated, militant fan base known as Knuckleheads who deserve the best experience we can give them. You’ve all stood by us & diligently helped us introduce the world to Five Finger Death Punch and this is our way of saying THANK YOU ! We couldn’t have done any of this without all of you. WELCOME TO THE PRIDE !”
American Capitalist (Prospect Park) was recently certified gold by the RIAA for shipping over 500,000 copies in the U.S. This milestone marks the third consecutive release from the band to achieve gold certification, with The Way of The Fist (2007) and War Is The Answer (2009) achieving this feat prior. American Capitalist debuted at number 3 on the Billboard charts on October 11, 2011. In a challenging retail environment, Five Finger Death Punch is one of the few amongst any genre to consistently see significant success both digitally and physically. The band’s album sales are complemented with steady single sales that cumulatively have surpassed 3.6 million songs sold.
On achieving this significant milestone with three consecutive gold certified albums, guitarist Zoltan Bathory offered, “I think it’s a huge win for all of us, not just for us as a band but for the entire genre of Hard Rock and Heavy Metal. This is a loud and clear indicator that heavy music is in demand and if a relatively new band like us can accomplish something like this, then maybe be this is just the prelude for the shape of things to come.”
Five Finger Death Punch’s single “Coming Down” was the band’s first number one on the Active Rock charts, and the tenth consecutive Top 10 hit at the format. Going back to “The Bleeding” in the spring of 2008, Five Finger Death Punch has consistently been one of the most heavily played bands at rock radio, as “Never Enough,” “Stranger Than Fiction,” “Hard To See,” “Walk Away,” “Bad Company,” “Far From Home,” “Under And Over It,” “Remember Everything,” and most recently “Coming Down,” each has become an anthem in its own right.
